Bring back the color in our lives

Bring back the color in my life.  Office 2013 stinks.  I have to take my computer in a closet to see the screen!!!  Bring back color and contrast so I don't have to work in the dark.  What were you thinking?  Apple tried this with
their iPhones and failed.  You did too.  Discrimination to those of us over 40.

Hi,
To change the background and color in Office 2013, in any Office Application, we can go to FILE -> Options -> General -> Personalize your copy of Microsoft Office, select Office Theme -> OK.
It's true the fact is we only have White, Light Gray and Dark Gray in Office 2013, which is complained about by some of our customers. I feel really sorry if this has brought you any inconvenience. So far I haven't heard whether more colors will be added
to Office 2013, but please be assured that any improvements in the product are based on users' requirements. Our developers strive to capture Microsoft users' ideas and are working hard to create a more powerful and easy-to-use product.

  • Is there a way to bring back the actual tab "bar"?

So in switching from FF3.6 to 5.0 I have noticed that the actual "bar" that holds the tabs is gone.
    Observe:
    [http://i.imgur.com/eU7lo.jpg http://i.imgur.com/eU7lo.jpg]
It's visually slightly annoying to not have a distinct separator between the tab area and the button toolbar, but that is something I can live with.
However I can NOT live with the extremely annoying functionality drawback that comes as a result of this. In 3.X and before you could right click anywhere in the tab bar and it would bring up the tab management menu. Now you can't bring up the menu from empty space because it treats that space as part of the rest of the UI and gives you a different menu, forcing you to mouse all the way over to a tab to accomplish the same end.
So my question is, does anyone know of a way, or an addon, that can bring back the actual tab bar? I find all of these UI changes to be nothing short of infuriating. I swear, Mozilla, Facebook, Pandora, Google, and Microsoft must all be in cahoots with each other because they're all introducing horrible UI designs at the same time.

Well I guess that's kind of cool that you can add buttons in the bar as well, but I honestly don't have a use for that and I think it would get in the way more often than not in most scenarios I can think of (there's a reason buttons were segregated from the tab bar and it wasn't tech limitations). The previous functionality is much more convienent and useful and, well, functional.
As for why FF5, well I've had the FF5 installation since before 6.0 was out, but the UI changes angered me so much that I abandoned it after about 20 minutes and went back to using my 3.6 installation; I've been letting the community stew and cook up solutions to the UI problems (status4evar for example) and like any good stew, giving it more time is better. Also a whole bunch of my addons (some of which are mission-critical to my browsing needs) were not [and a small few are still not] compatible with anything above 3.x, 4.x, or 5.x so I had to wait for those (mmm, stew). And then to top it off I figure the possibility that I'll run into upgrade problems is smaller if I go through the chain of updates rather than jumping from 3.6 straight to 7. And don't get me started on the whole rapid release schedule. :P

  • Is Windows 8.1 Update 2 bringing back the start menu?

Was browsing group policies in Windows 10 GPMC, and discovered something new... Start Menu layout. But the requirement is "At least Windows 8.1 Update 2". So is 8.1 Update 2 bringing back the start menu? This could change before the final release
of Windows 10 obviously, and they might have originally planned to bring it back in 8.1, before deciding to make it a big deal for Windows 10, but an interesting discovery nonetheless.

Unfortunately, there will be no Windows 8.1 Update 2.  If you want the new Start Menu design, you'll need to upgrade to Windows 10.
"...customers can expect that we’ll use our already existing monthly update process to deliver more frequent improvements along with the security updates normally provided as part of “Update Tuesday.” So despite rumors and speculation, we are not planning
to deliver a Windows 8.1 “Update 2.”  (Copied from this blog)

  • Bring back the Filter option in Search results

Well, not only Sorting is messed up (removed) from the latest realease of Spotify, filtering is as well. You can no longer filter (ctrl-F/cmd-F) your search results, and, as with many other great features killed without explanation, we want this one back as well. Thanks!
PS. You can manually bring back the old search - including sorting and filter options - if you write "spotify:search:[search term]" in the search field.

Is there a business reason why this feature hasn't returned, despite a huge number of complaints?  (Matt Suda - does he work for Spotify? - writes in this thread that it is coming back but its status is still "Watch this space" in the monthly ideas review).   I can think of a few business model reasons that Spotify doesn't want its customers to have filter/search.  For example: 1- I bet it's reduced the amount of use by customers like me, so the business gets the "Health Club" revenue stream - loads of subscribers who don't use the service much.  2-  Perhaps its a way of increasing use of the Facebook aspect of Spotify and so creating more advertising revenue.   If we are wasting our time and effort asking for the return of this feature then please, Spotify, just tell us and we will vote with our wallets after examining the competition.

  • Bring back the 500GB Standalone Plans

I am very disapointed that there is no longer a 500GB option and everyone is now forced onto either 50GB, 250GB or 1TB tiers. I would have much preffered a price discount and the 500GB plan offered at $95 dollars, instead of being stuck paying $113 for 500GB and hoping I get upgraded to 1TB. If I don't then I'm expected to pay an extra $2 dollars and swap to a different plan when others have been upgraded for free. I could understand if the 500GB plans weren't offered anywhere, but they are still offered in bundles, could you please bring back the 500GB plan or at least have it available in a tier?? I personally think 250GB, 500GB and 1TB tiers instead would be better value. If I was paying less than 100 dollars for 500GB I would be more incentivised to bundle, and the bundles as usual disadvantage existing customers by offering nothing at all.  Thanks Telstra

    Hi dazza826,
Thanks for offering this feedback to us.
At this stage we won't be offering a cheaper plan for the 500GB. We increased data to enable people to be able to enjoy our new Telstra Air service without concern of using up their data. More on that here

  • Bring back the little red X please?

With Adobe's continued regression into silent-movie-era palettes I'm having a harder and harder time distinguishing which one out of multiple open documents is the 'hot' one (the one I'm working on at the moment). Could you please bring back the red X box in the image window? It's not like I'm demanding that horrible blue bar from CS3 or anything. I mean. a little color to tip us off to what we're working on can't make all the monochrome purists run in terror can it?

    Bump
Working on a crapload of images in multiple open windows today and this "feature" continues to make my work more difficult than it needs to be. And no, I don't do tabs.
If you're going to suck all the color hints out of the UI maybe you should get rid of that blue box in the upper left corner of every image window - it's   just   sooo   annoying...

  • Bring back the Refresh button in Dreamweaver

1 year to the day of this post, Dreamweaver CC still sucks! I just updated and I'm sincerely regretting it. I want CS6 back now! Can someone tell me how to "Command Z" my upgrade when I have creative cloud? Seriously, you removed the refresh button? I'm not talking about the Refresh TAG, I'm talking about the little button at the top that wasn't hurting anyone, and kept my page from jumping all over the place when I click back in design view. I don't care if F5 does the same thing, F5 isn't what I've been using for 5 years. What's even more stupid, is that the refresh button is there when you click on LIVE.... Tell me how this is functional! Obviously, if I switch to live mode it's going to be updated, yet you put the refresh button there? Come on!
I used to hold Adobe to a much higher standard, now I feel like they're trying to be Apple... Spewing out new [inferior] technology as fast as they can just to make an extra billion dollars.

This is a duplicate of this one: Bring back the Refresh button in Dreamweaver (Was: Dreamweaver CC "simplifying")

Please don't post the same question mutliple times!  I have deleted your duplicate post.
Have you tried a System Restore to a time before the change occurred?

  • Can I get back the color control bar?

After a 5 hour download and install, the most noticeable change is that Apple changed the left-hand side control bar from colored to all gray.
Frankly, I've been very disappointed with Apple's design changes lately, and this one is another example, although, I love the new translucent trash can.  I've figured out work-arounds to many of the changes I find most offensive (e.g. my folders are no longer Yosemite-native neon blue.)
Is there a way to get back the colors on the left-hand side control bar in iPhoto?
I don't mind digging through hidden folders and re-building the icons so that my interface looks good again.  Any suggestions are appreciated.

If you want to restore the color to the Finder's sidebar give the open source application cDock a try.  You can change the Dock's background scheme (I use transparent) and add color icons to the Finder's sidebar:

  • Please bring back the Modern Skype App for x86 devices

The desktop Application is unusable on small tablets, due to its fiddly controls, missing features and extremely high demand of system resources (RAM, CPU, etc.). It's sad to see Microsoft once again neglecting its creations (like you did with Zune). Especially, when theres no logical reason for it (RT users can still use the app, you're just blocking us out - it's the same codebase!). People, let them hear your voice. I know, many others share my point of view, but they won't change anything if they don't see any complaints!

  • Is there any way to bring back the font type and background of Safari reader from iOS6 in to the iOS7 ? I really miss it, the new design is awful, simple and has now class at all.

Is there any way to bring back the font type and background of Safari Reader from iOS6 in to the iOS7 ? I really miss it, the new design is awful, simple and has now class at all.

I agree with you, many things in the ios 6.x were more elegant. The reader was the most one of them. I think the ios7 wants to be the windows 8.

  • Bring back the 12 month devise installment plan.

You need to bring back the 12 month devise installment plan. I am grandfathered into the unlimited data plan and do not want to give it up, so the edge plan is out of the question. I cannot afford to pay full price for a phone and accessories. the installment plan helped me tremendously in my purchase of a new devise withOUT, changing my plan and coming greatly out of pocket. HELP!!!
I have been a VZW customer for more than 12 yrs. The devise installment plan, unlimited data plan that I have and great service, are just a few of the reasons i an still with VZW. Please remain competitive and re-offer this service.

Who cares what my data plan is? Has nothing to do with my opinion on unlimited data. I could of had it. Chose not to, didn't need it. Still don't. I use maybe 500 MB per month.
The point is Verizon wants to get rid of it. And has been getting rid of it piecemeal for years. My point is if they are  going to do it, just do it. Like pulling a band-aid off. You just rip it off you don't try to finesse it. Just dumping it gets rid of all the 'How can I still get a discounted upgrade" threads also gets rid of the "Verizon tricked me into giving up unlimited data" threads.
Will people get mad? yes. They get mad now. What's the difference? Heck offer them 10 GB per line bonus for 2 years for each unlimited data line as a gesture. The ones that leave likely use the most data and that will actually help if they left.

  • Bring back the 5th gen.

Honestly, I didn't know where to put this.
But I really dislike the new iPod nanos.
And I can't find any of the 5th gen.
    So I say to Apple:
Please bring back the 5th gen nanos!

Or you could buy the iPad, that has a way, way bigger screen.
Going to be really tough to put controls on that size screen and still be able to see what is happening. Could make game play really challenging.
Yes, Apple did make a big deal out of the video capability, but in the final analysis they could not keep pace with Flip and I doubt anybody actually bought a 5th Generation Nano because it had less than mediocre video capabilities. I use the video on mine about 3 times. Nice novelty.
Glad you think the 5th Generation was the epitome of the Nano, and you can buy from Amazon, or buy refurbished. At least while they are still available. I thought the most recent iteration of the Thunderbird was a nice car. Apparently not enough people agreed with me. I also thought the Adventures of Briscoe County was a great show. Fox? Not so much, nor did it have any ratings.
I like working out with my 6th Generation Nano, it is small, I can see the screen to change playlists rather than use VoiceOver, I can check the time, I can set timers. Hard to do all of these things with the Shuffle (although I actually run with my Shuffle instead). Honestly, the 6th Generation is far superior to the Shuffle when working out at the gym. I'm guessing you don't work out much. Honestly, it is much better and is just how things should be in my opinion.
Ever here of a thing called supply and demand? Ever collect anything? Ever buy artwork? Once an item is no longer available and there is a demand for it then it will sell at above list price. You can buy the refurbished ones for less than the new 5th Generation Nano and they are just as good, if not superior to, the new ones.
But in the end who knows. Apple went back to the 2nd Generation Shuffle design with the 4th Generation so maybe you will get your wish with the 7th Generation Nano. Wait until September.

It's not like Mozilla is removing features from SeaMonkey when they create Firefox. Firefox is the primary application from Mozilla. SeaMonkey is a 3rd party project derived from Firefox code, and the SeaMonkey project adds features that aren't included in Firefox.
There are a number of extensions that add "Form Fill" features to Firefox, and there is at least one extension that adds "form history management" to Firefox. <br />

  • Bring Back the TX!

The TX is exactly what I need. I have been a happy customer of the TX since it first came out. My one and only complaint is that the touchscreen goes bad quickly. If you fixed that, this is the only device I ever want to carry!
With the Outside the Box keyboard, it is like having a laptop that entirely fits in my pocket. When people see me using it they love it and want one for themselves.
When I want a cell phone, I want a real cell phone, not one that is a combination of a bad cell phone and a bad PDA.
When I want a camera, I want a real camera, not a bad camera, a bad cell phone and a bad PDA.
I have exactly ZERO interest in buying any of the new "smart phones". I have looked at them all, and none does what I get now from my Palm TX:
    1) A large, bright, high resolution screen
    2) An operating system with tons of free, open source software
    3) I use it with my Outside the Box wireless keyboard to take notes and write e-mails on a full-sized keyboard. It is the equivalent of a laptop and it folds and fits in my pocket.
    4) I can browse the web with free wi-fi in many places
    5) I can receive, save and send e-mails with free wi-fi. Again, the Outside the Box keyboard lets me use a full-sized keyboard that fits in my pocket. I do not do texting or other absurd user interfaces. Never.
    6) I have a bunch of cheap SD cards that have my entire music library. I can copy any MP3 onto the card and play it. The music or other audio will play for many hours on a charge.
    7) I can copy video files onto the cards and play them with better than TV resolution
    8) Video games, chess, you name it. See #2.
    9) I can back up on memory cards and on my PC.
    10) All the vital, simple PDA things, done well and done simply: Calendar, Contacts, Memos, Tasks
If you ever want me back as a Palm customer, here is all you have to do:
    1) Bring back the TX.
    2) Fix the touchscreen so it lasts.
Until then, I have zero interest in the "new, improved" stuff you are selling.
    Post relates to: Palm TX

Plus there is the aaa battery format, so I don't have to worry about proprietary batteries, and the fact that I can plug it into any computer anywere and use it as a flash drive.
    Bring it back.
The replacement v200 or 00 wasn't so great because they didn't come with loops to hang, and didn't come with belt cli
