Bringing Aria Player into Logic Express 9 as a plug-in?

Have managed to bring Aria into the Audio Units Manager of Logic Express 9 but cannot find a way to bring it into operation as a plug-in.

I bring Aria player into a track in the inspector. Open the inspector and see the channel strip on the left of the arrange window, yes? A little above the fader is the I/O label - directly under that is the input selection. Click it and scroll . . . in mine it says "AU Instruments" I select it and look for the Aria player. Hopefully, this will help you . . . if not, there are people here who know lots more than I do. I'm using L E 8, so there may be some differences I don't know about in the versions, but the idea should be the same . . .

  • How do I load an AU instrument (Garritan ARIA player) into Logic Pro X on a Mac Mini OSX 10.8.5

how do I load an AU instrument (Garritan ARIA player) into Logic Pro X on a Mac Mini OSX 10.8.5 ?

You install the player .component in the Library/Audio/Plug Ins/Components folder (though an installer probably does that for you) and install(er) the sample content wherever you want, then you start Logic (the new plug in will be validated during startup), open or create a project, create/use a software instrument track, instantiate the player in an Instrument slot, and in the player itself you choose the sound(s) you want to play and load those.

  • $5 Starbucks card to first successful answer: how to import midi timecode into Logic Express 9 from Roland VS-880 or Ensoniq ASR-10

I will literally mail a $5 Starbucks card or gift $5 via paypal to the first person whose response gets me success.  Then after all responses are provided and I'm successful with my issue, I'll also raffle off $5 to one of ALL respondents by random pick.
    Problem/question:
I can't figure out how to import midi timecode data from either an Ensoniq ASR-10 or Roland VS-880 Vxpanded into Logic Express 9, so I can then use Logic Express 9 as the master.  No manuals seem to explain that; I just can't find it.
    Background/basics:
    1.  My ultimate goal will be to move all midi data from the Ensoniq ASR-10 floppies and all digital audio files from the VS-880 into Logic Express 9.  Once the midi timing is imported into a Logic Express 9 file, I'll import the data from the Ensoniq & Roland via steps 2a & 2b below.
1a.  Ten years ago I somehow (am in the process of re-learning what I did 10 years ago) imported the midi timing into the Roland VS-880 Vxpanded from the ASR-10, and then used the VS-880 as the Master to control the ASR-10.   So my current status is that I use the Roland VS-880 as the master, and the Ensoniq ASR-10 as the slave.
    2.  FYI for anyone who might be in the same boat, wanting to transfer stuff from an Ensoniq ASR-10 and Roland VS-880 to the computer:
2a.  I will import all midi sequence data from my ASR-10 floppy disks via a utility purchased here, which will all a PC to read Ensoniq-formatted disks, and then just hopefully cut/paste midi files into Logic Express 9 (FYI only):  www.chickensys.com
2b.  Then will import all the individual WAV files from my Roland VS-880 to Logic Express 9 using a method learned here (FYI only): http://www.vsplanet.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=985974&PHP SESSID=b1d2f57be4a1d37d49787400213b22df
2c.  I'll then combine them all into Logic Express 9.
So - how the heck do I capture/import the midi timecode into Logic from either the roland or ensoniq using midi?
I'm don't think that cutting/pasting the midi data into a Logic Express 9 sequence file (step 2a above) will do that, because there are all kinds of tempo & time signature changes in the midi files unfortunately.
    THANK YOU and Merry Christmas!!
    Andy

OK doesn't look possible.  Closing discussion.

  • Importing Garageband Songs into Logic Express

I recently imported a song that I created in Garageband into Logic Express (I already downloaded the most recent version) and I can't hear the Audio from the song. What should I do?

Very common question. Usually means you're not routing the audio through the "output 1-2" channel strip or the core audio settings are wrong.
You can search here or on google and found thousands of forum threads about the same thing. You should find your answer easily. Also, read the getting started manual.
Logic ain't GB and requires more manual controlling to organize. This is good.

  • Problem importing Garageband songs into Logic  Express

Hi I have spent around 4 hours looking for an answer to this problem so hopefully it has'nt been answered before apolgies if it has.
I am trying to import a Garageband Song into Logic Express (7.1) it appears to import it to Logic but when finished it reads file corrupt not a Logic File.
I followed the tutorial opened the GB song and followed the instructions on how to import but I cant import it to Logic without the above message coming up.
    Any ideas?
I'm using a MacBook Pro with 10.4.9 on it.Logic is version 7.1 (Is there a known bug when importing?)
Thank you if you can help.
    KB.

    Hi KB,
    Welcome to the forum!
    the answer is within your question;
your machine needs the universal Logic express (7.2)
and your GB's probably GB 3.
That's the reason you can open the files.
If you bought version 7 "new"(from the reseler)
ask for version 7.2, as you can't buy crossgrade anymore.
(until logic sells a new one)
"You just bought diesel and your machine's not run on it"
rule number 1: You should Allways look for system requirements and software versions compability!

  • ADAT into Logic Express, VERY low signals recorded

I tried Garageband, same problem, so now I am trying Logic Express.
When transferring tracks from an ADAT, through Alesis io/14, into Logic, the resulting sound files captured are VERY low signal. This should be a digitally ACCURATE TRANSFER. The Alesis montoring software on the mac senses the correct signal, the signal meters show correct levels (and sounds great), but Logic hears and records very low signals.
I note the Sound midi pref window only shows 6 channel 32 bit. It won't allow me to change to 8 channel 16 bit. Possible problem or am I chasing ghosts? I exhausted all my ideas.
    Any thoughts?

Discovering I was unable to import a ".au" file into Logic Express (or Garage Band) I read it into Sound Studio and exported it in a variety of formats. I can now successfully drag to Garage Band files in formats .aif .aifc .sd2 and .wav and get the expected result.
Unfortunately however, I only get the expected result importing these into Logic Express for the .aifc format which plays back at the expected speed with a low-pitched sound (but which doesn't display an uncompressed waveform). Importing the .aif .sd2 or .wav format files however results in the imported file being squeezed into a very short duration with a correspondingly undesirable very high pitch.
Is there some setting or magic incantation I need for reading in audio files to Logic Express without it getting squeezed?
    Thanks!
    --Roph
Yes. you need to ascend to level 5 before we give that secret incantation.
Really, you need to use a third party converter software, if you are going to use .au files.
Logic is happiest with .aiff, .wav files, but not much else.

i am using akai dps16 to record and burn as wav to disc but cant seem to get them to load into logic express so i can mix and process.do i need other software or am i just stupid ?

  • Why can't I drag and drop my own songs and clips from itunes into logic express?

I have been on the road for 8 months and now I can't use my own stuff in logic express?
    <Edited by Host>

    Hello Rocksinger99,
Before we go into the why you are not able to copy your iTunes content to an external hard drive, what is the purpose of copying the content there? The reason I ask is because there are different scenarios that may be done differently. So if you just want to move the media off your internal hard drive, then look at the first article to walk you through how to just move the media folder by using iTunes to start the transfer. If you are copying the media to move it to another computer, then check the format of the external hard drive and make sure that it is formatted for Mac. Take a look at the last two for information on finding out the format as well as steps to get it formatted for Mac. Let me know what you find out.

  • How does one Rewire Reason 4 into Logic Express 7.3?

I've been trying to help a friend do this over the phone. I used to have Reason 3 and never had a problem with it, but when I have my man boot up Reason 4 after Logic Express, it does not go into slave mode. I don't know why, or how to tell him what to do.
He alleges there is no information in the Reason 4 manual, and does not have the Logic Express 7 manual. What is the exact procedure for this?

Has he tried opening gthe Reason template in Logic?
Or is he just adding Reason objects in the default environment template?

  • Transfer Digital Performer files into Logic Express?

I have some old recordings that are on a ADAT tape. A friend of mine said he could transfer them to Digital Performer. Does Logic open DP files?
    Paul

Unfortunately, as was pointed out, Logic Express does not open Digital Performer files.
Not does it import OMF files, nor Broadcast Wave files, which means you can't export time-stamped waves from DP and import into LE. If you know someone with Logic Pro, it DOES support Broadcast Wave. This could be one work around.
    Otherwise, you'll have two options.
    1) Import the ADAT recordings directly into LE using an interface that supports ADAT In (MOTU 828mkII comes to mind). This will only work if you can re-assign the inputs of the interface to be the first 8, since LE only "sees" the first 12. This is one of the major limitations of LE, and why it's not really suited for "pro" work.
    2) Import into DP, and then bounce the tracks in DP as separate WAVE of AIFF files, then import them directly into LE in the Audio Window. As long as each file starts (and ends, preferably) at the same time (i.e. as set in the DP bounce), you should have no problem aligning the tracks in LE7.
Number 2 is probably the best solution. Just remember that each of the WAVE files created in DP should begin at the same time (i.e. 0 0 0 0). This will GREATLY simplify the import into LE and make aligning the tracks a painless procedure. You can edit later in LE.
    Hope this helps.

  • No sound when i import garage banmd files into logic express 7.1

i have garage band 3.0.4 and logic express 7.1. i just acquired both of these recently and have been trying to transfer my old garage band 2 files into LE. i have no problems putting my songs into garage band 3 but when i open them in logic theres no sound output. everything appears to be working, all the meters light up except the output master all the way at the end of the mix window. i dont get it. some of my GB2 files opened in LE with no problems but others, made with gb3 or exported from gb2 to gb3, wont work. i messed with the preferences, the sound is set to core audio but im still perplexed. anyone else had this problem? help!

thanks, ill give it a try. ive noticed that i dont have any problems when i open my GB2 files directly into LE. its only when i go through GB3. its really a drag, because i just updated and it seems theres no going back. pretty disappointing if you ask me. i updated to GB3 because of its much hyped "resolutions" of old problems, and here i am stuck with new problems. bah! thanks for the help anyway. if anyone knows of an easier/more efficient way to deal with this issue, let me know! thanks again.

  • Aria Player and Logic X?

    Hey all,
So, for some reason I had it working on my copy of Logic 8, but I cannot get Logic X to find/load my copy of Garritan Aria Player. I have looked under my audio units manager and it isn't locating the program or components associated with it (finale 2011 found it for some reason). I have no dropdown box for Native Instruments above the I/O box with the other AU plugins. Any suggestions about the next troubleshoot point?? Thank you!

The Apps in the Applications folder would have no bearing on the state of your Plugins, in fact you culd probably delete them and the plugin would work fine. The Apps in you Applications folder are standalone Apps for running the plugin without Logic. The plugin that actually runs in Logic is contained in the Mac HD>Libraries>Audio>Plug-Ins> Components folder.
If the software instrument (contained in a '.component' file) is not 64 bit, it cannot be loaded by another 64bit program (as 64bit only works with other 64 bit stuff), but works fine in a 32bit program. In addition to this the app will work standalone as that is loading without needing to be compatible with anything but OS X itself.
In logic 9 64bit, Logic would start up a 32bit version of itself and run it alongside when you tried to use a 32bit plugin, sending audio remotely to the 64bit version. This was referred to as a bit-bridge and ws a temporary and somewhat buggy fix until everyone had updated thier plugins to 64bit. Unfortunately not everyone was that fast and Logic X (Which is 64bit only and does not have a bit bridge) came out unexpectedly, leading to a few developers scrambling to implement 64bit versions now. Until then, thier plugins are not compatible at all.

  • HT201368 I got an error message when trying to import a Garage Band song into Logic Express 9.

Logic Express 9.1.8 (which I have) claims to be the most recent update.

YOu have not provided any system info, not told us what version of AE you use, your audio setting, what specifics in the audio file and a million other things. See how it may not be possible for anyone to tell you anything beyond "Your computter sucks!" ???

  • How do i import 3rd party VST plug-ins into Logic Express 8???

I downloaded some vst plug-ins for logic express online somewhere and the instructions to install them says to go to library/audio/plug-ins/vst and to just drop them in there. i do that, but then when i drop them in there and then start up Logic, they're no where to be found in the program
is there another way you are suppose to import vst's?

You can't use VST plugins straight in Logic. The format recognized is AU (Audio Units) but there is a workaround using a program called VST to AU Adapter.
