Bringing ERP contracts into MDM

Hi all,
My objective is to get ERP contracts into MDM. I run the t-code MECCM in my ERP system and an XML file is generated, which contains the contracts i need.
Now ideally this XML file should get mapped by XI (on using standard MDM relevant scenario in XI) into another XML file which should be ready to import into the MDM server.
However my XI mapped file is same as the XML file generated before XI mapping i.e. XI mapping is not taking place.
Kindly let me know what settings / software component is missing in XI?
Thanks,
Nikhil

Hi Nikhil,
Have you created your PI interface using standard Process Scenario of SRM MDM Catalog, or you have built it of your own?
Standard Process Scenario uses objects defined in SRM MDM CATALOG, SAP_APPL, and SRM SERVER software components. But in your case you are just Transferring COntracts from ERP to MDM, So SRM MDM CATALOG and SAP_APPL should be fine.

Shiv

  • Will catalog item and ERP contract be in synch?

    Dear Experts,
Could you please comment if the SRM-MDM catalog item and ERP contract will be in synch? Our client has the below business process:
At the end of the RFx process, the system will create a central contract in the SAP SRM system. Now, the central contract will be distributed to the ERP MM system. Once the contract is created in the backend ERP MM system, the contract will be pushed to SRM MDM catalog from ERP MM system by MECCM transaction code.
Now, the catalog contract item is used in the shopping cart. Will the shopping cart item quantity get offset in the ERP MM contract?
I hope, if the ERP MM contract quantity gets offset, it will update the central contract in SAP SRM as well.
I appreciate your input and comments.
    Thanks and regards,
    Ranjan
    Ranjan Sutradhar

    HI,
When ever a contract is uploaded to SRM MDM catalog and if this item is used in your SC from the catalog, your PO will have the contract price. Once the PO is order there will be a call off performed on the contract.
Hence whenever the ERP contract has a call off, automatic call off on the SRM cenrtal contract will also be performed.
    Regards

  • Problems Importing INFREC01 into MDM

    Good Afternoon,
We are currently trying to import the purchasing info record IDoc 'INFREC01' into the MDM Import Manager.
However, we are having difficulties matching fields between the IDoc and the repository 'Products'.
Basically the problem is as follows:
We are trying to import the INFREC01 Idoc from SAP, via XI into MDM.
In the generated xml Idoc, there are two segments that we need to import data from:
E1EINAM : Purchasing Info Record: General Data
E1EINEM : Purchasing Info Record: Purchasing Organization Data
For some reason, the import manager brings in two segments:
    INFREC01
    E1EINEM
The data in INFREC01 contains the fields that we require from E1EINAM but for segment E1EINEM, there is no reference to the material, vendor or info record. Fields that could all be used to match records during import.
As a result, we are unable to perform the “Match Records” step in the import procedure for the segment E1EINEM i.e. match to the remote key.
We have a qualified look-up in the products repository, called "Vendor-Specific Data". When I try to import, I get the message : "Map 'Vendor-Specific Data' field to import qualifier(s)"
I would like to map the Vendor number to this field (as vendor is the non-qualifier in the look-up) but the vendor number is in the other IDoc segment (INFREC01).
How do we import the purchasing info record into MDM? Is there some way that I can clone or copy the vendor field from segment INFREC01 to E1EINEM? Or should I be using some other technique?
Thanks for any help you can offer!

    Hi Jonathan,
Answer to :How do we import the purchasing info record into MDM? is
You can choose between the following types of import:
    <u><b>a) Interactive Import</b></u>
You use the MDM Import Manager to map fields, values, and records manually before import. This method is recommended for initial loading if the Import Manager maps have to be adapted.
<u><b>b)Automated Import</b></u>You use the MDM Import Server to perform an automated import. This method is recommended for delta loading if the mapping is already complete.
I'd liek to share the process flow as well: (wrt BOM record)
    <u><b>Extraction from Remote System</b></u>
           1.      Log onto your remote system.
           2.      Extract BOM data records as IDoc (BOMMAT) to SAP XI.
Within SAP you can choose tools like ALE  Master Data Distribution  Logistics  Bill of Material Material BOM  BD30
<u><b>While for Interactive Import to MDM:(again wrt BOM)</b></u>
           1.      Start the MDM Import Manager to import the created BOMMAT XML files.
           2.      Connect to your MDM repository.
           3.      From the Type dropdown list choose Port.
The port serves as a central depot to collect relevant information for importing data from and exporting it to remote systems as well as for defining the file type.
Ports simplify the manual and automated handling of connection information by bundling attributes (for example direction of the data flow, XML schema, import folder, maps).
           4.      Select your remote system.
           5.      Select the inbound port _MDMBommat04 (client-specific).
Do not set the Read-only flag because segments are added for pivot transformations.
           6.      The Import Manager loads the map defined in the port.
Hope it will suffice to hint you,
    regards,
    Krutarth

I have DVD's that I made from iMovie. I would like to know a way I can bring them back into a file that I can somehow transfer to my iPad, so I can show movies on it, the iPad.

Pad2, the new iPad Supported Video Formats & Movie Formats
    H.264 video up to 1080p, 30 frames per second, High Profile level 4.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;
    MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;
Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format
Here's one way to install. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

  • How to bring a .jpg into an open PSD file as a layer & smart object

Note: Posted in MAC section also.
    Goal:
Using a script - Bring a .jpg an artist chooses, into Photoshop in an existing project into its own layer, and make it a smart object.
This way, when the artist double-clicks on the smart object in Photoshop, it opens the original .jpg
Currently, doing this creates a new window and file - a temp file, called xxx.psb.
Photoshop does this by default to prevent destructive editing.  However, in this case, we purposely want to open the original.
Why?  the .jpg files are approved art by the organization.
Here is the script I did and have working in JavaScript.  (Has to be js because it will run on MAC's)
Currently, it creates a NEW file.  I want it, however to create the SO as a layer in the existing open file.
In JS: (has to be js for MAC's)
    var idOpn = charIDToTypeID( "Opn " );
        var desc4 = new ActionDescriptor();
        var idnull = charIDToTypeID( "null" );
        desc4.putPath( idnull, new File( "C:\\Users\\jleahy\\Desktop\\JPG_Meeting.jpg" ) );
        var idsmartObject = stringIDToTypeID( "smartObject" );
        desc4.putBoolean( idsmartObject, true );
    executeAction( idOpn, desc4, DialogModes.NO );

I'm half way there, but stuck at:
Getting a file location reference when the .jpg is first brought into PS as a layer.
Getting a script to write the location of the file into the medata for the PSD in some field
Reading back the metadata file location for the .jpg and bringing it back into the PSD again.
Any help would really be appreciated.
I can make the completed script(s) available when its complete, as this has possibilities for other uses, batch process, and more.

  • What do broadcasters use to bring live footage into/through PrPro?

In another thread, the question of how to import "live" shooting from a vid-cam came up, and the standard answer is ... only by firewire will PrPro capture directly off a video camera.
But ... I know it's used in work where broadcasters in real-time bring live footage into PrPro, apply effects, and output ... so, what sort of connections does that process use?
    neil

Standard method is to use an EVS XS or XT hard disc recorder to capture and EVS software to transfer that media to shared editing storage if you need instant access. This is typically as MXF for avid or as QuickTime reference files pointing at the growing media for FCP. I think with PPro it can be either.
PPro also has a neat extension 'IPLink' that can browse the EVS media direct.
The EVS route is not cheap however but it is reliably used all over the world. Alternative solutions are available using Quantel, DVS Venice, Avid Airspeeds, Sienna PictureReady, BBC Ingex etc...

  • Question about bringing Hi8 movies into FCE

I have many 8mm tapes dating back, 5-15 years. I would like to bring the footage into FCE and then brun them to DVD before I lose too much quality (we have watched them many times over the years).
I read that I would require a TBC device. I am not familiar with this device, or what it does, or how it works.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/TJ555LL/A
Can someone explain to me how I would connect this to my Imac and the process of using it to convert my old tapes?
    Thank you
    -Mike

If yours is a digital-8 camera, you can capture from the camera. If it's not, then you can't; the footage must be digitized by some device between your camera and your Mac. (If you have a dv camera, you could connect 8mm cam to dv cam, dub to dv, then capture from dv cam directly.) In any event, one hour of dv footage is about 13GB.
My suggestion is to look somewhere OTHER THAN an Apple store for a better price on the converter. Do an online search.

  • Adding ERP Contract associated with the sub agreement to the Query

Query: Navigation Bar-> Contract Management -> Agreements -> My Agreements and Contract Documents

Description:  List of all agreements and contract documents for which you are an owner or collaborator.
I am trying to get the value of the u201CContract #u201D Field from the ERP View of the Line Item of the agreement which is the ERP Contract Number in our ESO/ECC integrated scenario.
I tried the FCI_CONTRACT_LINEITEM to FCI_AGREEMENT join with FCI_CONTRACT_LINEITEM.PARENT_CLASS_ID  = 1003 and FCI_CONTRACT_LINEITEM.PARENT_OBJECT_ID = FCI_AGREEMENT.OBJECTID to get the FCI_CONTRACT_LINE_ITEM.EXT_DOC_REF, but it does not hold the value (46XXXXXXXX) I am looking for.
Could you give me some pointers, to get to what I am looking for.  Let me know, if you need more info.
    Any help is really appreciated.

    Hi,
Check the Source List in ME01, here check the material for which you have maintained Source List and also check the material for which you are performing external operation i.e. material for which Order is created. Both should be identical.
    Better specify Scheduling Agreement manually.

Yes - it may have been empty but it was not formatted - thus the error message.
You can try (on command line/shell):
    dbmcli -U c -uUTL util_execute clear log
and after that try to bring the DB online again.

  • Bringing Aria Player into Logic Express 9 as a plug-in?

Have managed to bring Aria into the Audio Units Manager of Logic Express 9 but cannot find a way to bring it into operation as a plug-in.

I bring Aria player into a track in the inspector. Open the inspector and see the channel strip on the left of the arrange window, yes? A little above the fader is the I/O label - directly under that is the input selection. Click it and scroll . . . in mine it says "AU Instruments" I select it and look for the Aria player. Hopefully, this will help you . . . if not, there are people here who know lots more than I do. I'm using L E 8, so there may be some differences I don't know about in the versions, but the idea should be the same . . .

Additionally, if you've copied an image from a website or other location, you can go to File > New and, for CS6, at least, the canvas will already be the dimensions of the image you have in your clipboard. So, once you start that new file, you can simply go to Edit > Paste (or hit cmd V) to drop in the image.

  • Cannot Import Deep Hierarchy into MDM?

    Hi All,
According to the MDM online document of importing source data into
hierarchy table, it seems that the maximum number of levels of the
hierarchy is fixed. The example used by the document is like the
    following:
    Field1___Field2___Field3
    A
    A________B
    A________B________C
That means, the maxium number of levels would only be 3. If we use the
following table in the data source to represent a deep hierarchy, it seems
that MDM cannot import it correctly:
    Name___Parent
    A
    B______A
    C______B
    D______C
    E______D
Can you confirm whether this is the fact? If not, how can we import a
    deep heirarchy into MDM?
    Thanks + Best Regards

    Jerome,
I'm not an expert in this, but I have been able to create more than 3 levels of hierarchy using a code structure (for example):
    <u>CODE                       DESC</u>
    1000000000     FOOD
    1010000000     DRINKS
    1010200000     ALCOHOLIC
    1010201000     BOTTLED
    1010201010     HEINEKEN
    1010201020     SHIRAZ
    1010202000     CANNED
    1010202010     CARLSBERG
    1010202020     KRONENB
    1010202030     TIGER
    1010300000     NON-ALCOHOLIC
I was able to create a Hierarchy Field within Import Manager which derives the parent-child relationship from the above code structure.
    Or import file with structure:
    HIERARCHY01
    FOOD                                                              1000000000
    FOOD\DRINKS                                                  ....
    FOOD\DRINKS\ALCOHOLIC                               ....
    FOOD\DRINKS\NON-ALCOHOLIC
    FOOD\DRINKS\ALCOHOLIC\BOTTLED
    FOOD\DRINKS\ALCOHOLIC\CANNED
    FOOD\DRINKS\ALCOHOLIC\BOTTLED\HEINEKEN
    FOOD\DRINKS\ALCOHOLIC\CANNED\KRONENB
    FOOD\DRINKS\ALCOHOLIC\CANNED\CARLSBERG
    FOOD\DRINKS\ALCOHOLIC\CANNED\TIGER
    FOOD\DRINKS\ALCOHOLIC\BOTTLED\SHIRAZ
    and use Split into Hierarchy
    Just my 2 cents!
    Cheers,
    Foh
