Bringing in old user name and info.

I had a hard drive failure recently but fortunately we were able to save my old user name with all the info. I had to download and install the new softward. For whatever reason I can't find a way to open up my old user name in the old software. Any help you could offer would be great!!!

The version of Palm desktop you downloaded, is it the same version you used previously?
If not, what version did you download? If you have the user folder from a version 4.x palm desktop and are now using 6.2, it will not work. You need to use the same version you had installed previously.
If you have the username folder and want to use that data, you will need to copy and paste the folder into the Palm folder in c-program files-palm or palmone. Open Palm desktop and the data should be there.
Here is a method for backing up your data for disaster recovery.
The best way to preserve your data is to export the data in each category in Palm Desktop to a seperate folder on your PC.
Create a new folder on your PC somewhere that is convenient. Name it something like Palm Desktop Data. Click on the link below and follow the instructions on that page for the export procedure.

Make sure you select all for the range in the export window.
With the data saved in the folder you created, make a copy of that folder and save to a flash drive, cd-rw or external hard drive.
Anytime you make a change in Palm Desktop, export the data that was changed to that folder and save again to the external media.
With this process you can always import the data back into Palm Desktop anytime you have a problem with the data in Palm Desktop or if your computer/hard drive/device crashes.

There is no user name needed to "enter" or use iPhones...
Assuming you mean your iTunes Store account ID:
Settings > Store > tap ID > sign out > sign in with new ID

Old User Name and Fortgotten Password

I have a collection of songs on my iPod, that I cannot transfer to my current User account as it is set up for an old User Name (email address) that does not exist anymore. I have also lost the password, so when it asks to transfer I cannot log in.
Can anyone suggest how I can reset the iPod user name and password detail to transfer all my songs to my new account?

But to help you the default is USERNAME is left blank and PASSWORD is admin
And if that doesnt work using a toothpick or pen tip, press and hold the reset button on the back of the roter for 30 seconds to reset everything back to default.

Is there a way to access Time Machine files associated with an old user name?

My iMac was running super slow and there was a bunch of programs, etc. that I wanted to get rid of anyway so I thought I would do a "clean install" from my Snow Leopard disc. I moved items on my desktop to my Seagate external drive and then unplugged it. I have had Time Machine saving to it for a long time so I was confident I could just move a few items (pictures, music, etc.) back on to my hard drive when the install was completed. To my surprise, when I went to Time Machine I found the items I had moved from my desktop but no earlier versions of my other files.
In researching this issue a little bit, it appears that perhaps I created a new user name when I did the install and that my historical items are likely still on the Seagate but stored somewhere associated with my old user name. I understand that if I can change my user name back to the original that I may be able to access the items and transfer the items I want. To compound the situation, I have no idea what my old user name even was.
Does this make sense to Mac experts out there?
If so, is there a way to see the old user names and access the Time Machine files?
I've been avoiding telling my wife that I may have lost all our kid photos so I'm desperately hoping someone can help.

Another option would be to access to your backups manually. Open a Finder window, select the Time Machine drive in the sidebar and go to Backups.backupdb > your computer's name > one of the backups > your partition's name, and copy the data you want

Tiger to Leopard transition- user name and password not working. plz help!

Hi all. Last year I purchased a MacBook Pro with Tiger OSX. Anyways I wanted to switch to leopard, so I did. Now when I want to install updates, as usual it requires my user name and password. But after I installed leopard, my old user name and password does not work (my login name does not even show up in the box anymore). I can not install any new software on my computer because of this so called "new password." Any assistance would be greatly appreciated because this is very frustrating since I just purchased an iPhone and I can't sync it because I need the new version of itunes.

can you log in at all as another user? if not activate root and log in as root using [these instructions|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1278]. then look in the /Users folder at the top level of the hard drive. do you see the home directory with your old username there? post back with what you find.

Purchased items are forever tied to the Apple ID that they were purchased with. If you don't remember the Password, log onto Manage your Apple ID, and click on Reset Password: Apple - My Apple ID

Browser bypasses "User Name" and "password" goes direct to "set up"

My WRT54G v 3 with firmware 3.03.9 will not bring up the "user name" and "password" page. When I browser into it (192.168.1.1) it goes *directly* to the set up page without requesting a user name or password. When I tab to Administration and attempt to change the password (that it does not ask for when I browser in), it says the password is invalid. I tried "admin" and it says the same thing.
I have used WRT54G v 5 and WRT54Gs v 6 and WAP54G v 1 and they all act the same- The "user name" and "password" page comes up after I browser in and I type "admin" to get to the set up page. This router goes direct to the set up page and will not let me change the password.
What is going on here ? Other than this, it works perfect. Thank you in advnace. John.

this is happening because the browser remembers the password of the router.thi is what you need to do to so the browser does not remember.
on the browser (IE) open "tools" and then "internet options" then go to the "content" tab and click on "auto complete" Uncheck all valid options here and also clear forms and passwords.

If the old ID ("username") is an earlier version of your current ID, temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

Sorry if this posted twice I am NEW. I thought I could just go back to what I typed and add to it. Mom had a computer it died they are putting in the old drive on the new computer as a slave. What are the steps I need to do to transfer ALL the bookmarks, user names and passwords onto the new computer. We will have 3 desktops do we have to do the same steps on each desktop? If you don't have the user name and password used to set up the machine then you need to purchase the apps for yourself.

The website may be using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving the name and password.
You can remove autocomplete=off with a bookmarklet to make Firefox save the name and password.

im doing project related with database... normally i'll connect ***.udl file to open database.vi.
now what is my question is I want to open the database with the user name with password.... y i need this because once i run the program the program should ask username and password to open database for write/read operation. if its wrong user name and password means program should be denied...
can any tell how to access the database toolkit with the username with password....
im using labview 7.0...

and one more things can tell wat to do in ODBC and MDB and in UDL for password lock.. each time i run the promgram it should ask password to acces the database..
