Bringing my wife's iPad into my Cloud without erasing her info and including my email?

I currently have iCloud running with my iMac and iPhone 4S. My wife would like to run iCloud on her iPad to have access to all of our pictures, contacts, etc. Is it possible to bring her device into my "cloud" without erasing everything on her iPad and having my email on her iPad?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
In order to connect to your photostream she would need to log into your account as a primary account (settings > iCloud) she could enable photostream and any other service you wished to share, but disable those (mail for example) she didn't.
So far as keeping her own information she would need to log into her account as a secondary account (settings > mail, contacts, calendars and enable the services she wanted to use on her own.

my wife's ipad is locked because she forgot her password or put her apple id in wrong. the screen says to connect to itunes. when I connect to itunes on my computer it says her screen is locked (Duh I know that). How do I unlock it without deleting all her info.

    Hello Butzi1,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Since iTunes is asking your to enter the passcode, and you are unable to access the iPad, you will need to put the device into recovery mode and restore the iPad by following the directions below.
    Use recovery mode
Follow these steps if you never synced your device with iTunes, if you don't have Find My iPhone set up, or if you can't get to your own computer. You'll need to put your device in recovery mode, which will erase the device and its passcode. Then you'll restore your device as new or from a backup.
Disconnect all cables from your device.
    Turn off your device.
Press and hold the Home button. While holding the Home button, connect your device to iTunes. If your device doesn't turn on automatically, turn it on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode.
Click OK, then restore the device.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
    Take care,
    Alex H.

You could create the new Apple ID for her and keep the existing one for you.
If you need/want to keep the same ID, perhaps this article will help: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5538

  • I put my iPad into DFU mode without thinking much about it. I didn't realize I would lose everything. Is there a way to get everything back the way I used to have it before I tried recovering my iPad?

A couple of days ago my iPad died, so I plugged it in to charge. It went into a rebooting loop, and when I looked up how to fix this, I saw that I can put my iPad into DFU mode to fix certain things like this. I did, not thinking much about it because l had seen both of my parents get new phones and everything was slowly but surely on their phone the way it was on their old phones.
I thought that even though I agreed to the iPad being put back into factory settings, I thought I would be able to get everything back the way it used to be just by logging into iCloud when setting it up. I was wrong. This is a school iPad, so all of my notes are gone. The only things that were backed up were my photos. All the games, social media, etc. that I had downloaded prior were gone. Even my notes.
Is there a way I can get everything back to the way it used to be, or was agreeing to put the iPad back into factory settings the wrong thing to do? Was it a mistake to take it upon myself to fix my iPad in this restarting loop? I would really like to get everything back, especially my school notes.

The only way to get everything back is by restoring a backup. If you didn't have a backup, there is nothing that you can do to recover your lost documents and your notes. If you have a backup restore the backup in order to recover your data. Purchased apps can always be downloaded again as long as you use the same Apple ID that you bought them with, but data can only be recovered from a backup or if you have copies of the documents and notes on a computer.

  • HT201269 How do I get my wife off on my apple account and cloud-set up her own and them transfer all her data

Back up the information you want to save.

Your wife then downloads and/or purchases the apps she wants.
Transfer the data she needs back to her phone.

  • Wife and I share itunes account.  How do we save her info and start her own account?

When we first got our iphones, we were told at apple store we could use the same itunes account.  We still do.  Now with 2 iphones, 2 laptops, ipads, etc.  it is a mess with facetime and sharing apps.
How do I save her information and start a new account for her?
    Thanks

Your best bet would be to set up a separate Apple ID for her to use with iCloud, Messages, and FaceTime, but continue to use the same iTunes account for purchases (click on the second box "Use one Apple ID for iCloud and a different Apple ID for Store Purchases" to go directly to the section which outlines how to do this). The reason you would want to continue to use the current ID for iTunes is because all of the purchases made under that ID will be forever tied to that ID - purchases cannot be transferred to another ID:

  • A friend gave my nephew her iPod when she purchased the iPad. How do I clear her information and set it up for him?

How do you set up an iPod that is used - it contains another person's library?

I would connect to the computer you plan to use and restore it to factory defaults/new iPod via iTunes on the computer.  See:
iTunes: Backing up, updating, and restoring your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch software
    Alternately, you can:
Connect iPod touch to your computer or a power
adapter. Choose Settings>General > Reset and tap “Erase All Content and Settings.”
This resets all settings, and erases all your information and media by removing the
encryption key to the data (which is encrypted using 256-bit AES encryption).

  • TS3682 When i plug my ipad into pc it restores it with info from my ipod? What am i doin wrong?

    Not sure what to do

It seems to be a very common comment that an iPad is recognized as a camera by either a pc or a Mac. Happens to me all the time. I ignore the box that comes up and I dismiss it. Then I start iTunes and the iPad will sync normally.
Not sure on the PC but on a Mac the program Image Capture handles what happens when a camera is attached to the computer. There is probably a similar program for the pc. On a Mac start Image Capture and then go to it's preferences. There will be a choice for what application should open or what should happen when a camera is connected to the computer. For Image Capture select Nothing. Then save the preference and quit the program. The next time you connect your iPad nothing should startup.
When you do connect a camera you will have to manually start up Image Capture or whatever other software you use to transfer photos from the camera to your computer.

My wife purchased me a Ipod classic 80GB back in 2007, she also has a Ipod classic, but both are under user name and password. I have a newer PC. How can I download the music from my PC to my Ipod?

iRip is a nice little program  it will get all your music, books, podcasts off your iPod without knowing a password or the iPod not sync to the iTunes library.

  • How can I get my ipad2 calendar to show up on my wife's iphone4 calendar with both have ios5.0.1, and had separate email accounts?

I recently got an IPAD2 with my own email address, and my own apple id.  My wife got an Iphone4 (not 4s) for Christmas, which also has IOS 5.0.1, and she has her own email address and her own apple id.  How can we sync calendars?

This is helpful, but how do you get both devices to communicate to this single calendar via the iCloud?...
You did not mention that it must be through iCloud.  But then, it can't really do so if you want to maintain separate Apple IDs.
So you just set up an additional calendar on your devices.
iPads, iPhone, Macs can show multiple calendars simultaneously.  I have my work calendar and several personal calendars all showing simultaneously on my iPad, Mac Mini and Macbook Pro.   In the case of my client, they didn't need multiple calendars.  They just were going to use the one shared calendar.  But I did setup the shared Google calendar and separate personal caldendars on their iPhones.  (e.g.: Husband's iPhone = husband's personal Mac Cal + shared Google Calendar.  Wife's iPhone = wife's personal Outlook for Windows Cal + shared Google Calendar.)
