Bringing oralce vm for x86 server in enterprise manager control

Hello All,
Greetings of the day.
We have deployed oracle enterprise manager opscenter 11g on solaris x86 and deployed a proxy controller on the same machine.
Query: How to discover and bring into oracle enterprise manager control oracle VM x86 machine which is already built and alive.
My perception is to install oracle virtual management pack on proxy controller machine and oracle vm server. I have the binaries with me. I could not find a doc to install the same.
Quick response is much appreciated.
Regards,
Hameed

Hameed,
Your questions sounds like it is specific to Ops Center. As a side note, there is an Ops Center forum and MOS community here:
https://communities.oracle.com/portal/server.pt/community/oracle_enterprise_manager_ops_center/505
Enterprise Manager Ops Center
Ops Center 11g does not have any awareness of OVMx86. Oracle introduced support for OVMx86 into Ops Center 12c.
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/oem/ops-center/oem-ops-center-188778.html
The way you accomplish this in Ops Center 12c is to discover a OVM Manager. Once you have an OVM Manager discovered, you can discover OVS hypervisors and connect them to the OVM Manager through Ops Center. Then they will appear in the Ops Center user interface and you will be able to control them from Ops Center.
You can also do this in Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c.
Thanks,
Mike

  • How to integrate a Solaris x86 server on Sun Management Center ?

    Hello people,
I want to integrate a Solaris x86 server on Sun Management Center platform.
If I'm not wrong, SunMC doesn't run for Solaris x86, server and client only as console with Java.
In speat of it, I try to install Sun Management Center 3.0 Agent for Solaris x86.
It seems to be ok, install packages, but when execute es-setup script, intents to create the following directory:
    /opt/SUNWsymon/base/bin/sparc-sun-solaris2.8
I supose that in this directory, SunMC will install sparc binary files
At this point, I can't follow the installation and abort it.
Can anybody give me ideas to install and integrate my solaris x86 server on SunMC ?
    Thanks

my problem is that i could not install the SMC agent on Red Hat Linux. as i could not find an easy document or steps to do so.
could you guide please? If you still have a copy of your SunMC media around, the same ["es-inst"|http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-2215/command-line-1?l=en&a=view] program you use to install Solaris Agents should work on Linux as well. It autodetects OS type and will install Solaris packages or RPMs as appropriate.

    Hi
From the Unix prompt enter oemapp console(for v9.x). If you are using earlier versions it is oemapp console (for starting the console) and oemapp dbastudio(for starting dba studio)
For starting OMS enter: oemctrl start oms.
    Hope this helps

  • I want to find any backup and recovery solution for SharePoint server 2013 enterprise

    Dear Expertise,
Recent set up SharePoint server 2013 Enterprise, and looking for backup and recovery solution, does the built in Windows Backup can handle it, and how?
    KF

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to know some backup and restore solution for SharePoint 2013.
There are two Technet articles about the backup and restore, you can have a look at them.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee428315(v=office.15).aspx
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee662536(v=office.15).aspx
You can also use some third-part software tools to achieve the same scenario.

  • Management Pack for Windows Server 2008 Enterprise SP1

    Hello,
I tried to manage the performance of a Windows Server 2008 Enterprise SP1 (6.0.6001) but SCOM 2007 R2 just check the availability with a ping status.
I have installed the normal management packs:
On the same SCOM, I have servers with Windows Server 2008 R2 and they work perfect.
    What can I do?

    Hi Journey Tinoco,
Performance can be monitored by using the active alerts TAB where a alert / alerts will be triggered based on the default management pack which you have installed / imported or if you have created a custom monitor based on your preference on what performance
counter you want to monitor on windows server 2008 servers VIA SCOM.
Or you can pull server performance report specific for Windows server 2008 from the reporting TAB as per the below screen shot for details.
The one which you are opened is the health explorer view which is not showing much details.
Go to reporting TAB ===> Select Windows server 2008 operating system monitoring and then What ever appropriate report you need to pull based on your requirement. For example i have pulled a report below for "Operating system performance.
Over here Click object and select the computer name and the icon should be a Windows serve / Computer as per the icon in my screen shot below. Select the time and date from and to the report you want and dont touch the add object option. Once done click
the Run button on the left to you will get the report as below.
Please note: If the below report is what you are looking for is not available in your SCOM's  reporting TAB. Then you have not installed the reporting Management pack for Windows server 2008 monitoring. Download
    it from the below link.
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=9296
    Hope this helps you.

Can anyone help me why this problem occured and how to solve it?

    Hi
    Try to increase socket limits
Normally you can do this within the admin console , Servers -> Configuration -> Tuning -> Socket Readers
For you, since you can't login, set the ThreadPoolPercentSocketReaders in the config.xml to a higher value than 5
    kind regards

  • Oracle 10g Enterprise Manager Control for Database

    Hi,
I have a question. I have installed Oracle 10g Application server and Database server. Now, I am able to start OEM for database using "emctl start dbconsole". And I am able to browse it on port 5500. But everytime it shows me database "orcl". I have two databases. So, what to do if I want to manage another database using OEM for databse control. I have checked ports.ini file and it shows me that OEM port for another database is 5501. But when I try to browse it, I am getting nothing. So, please guide me.
    Thanks,
    Sanket.

    Sanket,
If you go to $ORACLE_HOME/install, you will see the file portlist.ini. If you open this file, you will see one or more entries in the format
Enterprise Manager Console HTTP Port <SID_NAME> = <PORT_NUMBER>
In my case, my SID, TEST is running on the port 5501, and therefore the following entry appears in ports.ini :
Enterprise Manager Console HTTP Port (TEST) = 5501
In order for this entry to be added automatically, I think you have to use the database configuration assistant (dbca) to create the database.
When I open the following location, http://127.0.0.1:5501/em/, in my browser I can see the enterprise management console for the SID. Similarly, the URL http://127.0.0.1:5500/em/ is the management console for another SID that is running on the same machine.
If you are using Linux, make sure that that 127.0.0.1, or the hostname (in the url) in the portlist.ini file is in the /etc/hosts* file.
    Good Luck!
    Regards,
    Rudi

  • Does Oracle 8i for Linux include Oracle Enterprise Manager?

NO, it will not work. You cannot even install since the installer
for Solaris is a Solaris binary and some windows exe also does
not work. I guess somebody has to write a better bootstrap proggy

I wonder why they did it that way...

    Hi all,
Pls. help me, our OAS 10g's enterprise manager is not starting whereas AS is up & opmn is also running.
Can anybody has idea?.Thanks in advance.

    hi Kamran,
    Please remember to always give some details about what product/ type/ version/ platform are you working with. this does not leave others to wait for divine revelation or mortal guessing;
also on reporting errors, please provide exact error(s) with error codes as you see and not the error described in your words. that helps clearly understand the problem.
about current problem, please tell us what did you expect to see and what did you exactly get.
and Roberto is right, check the version in %ORACLE_HOME%\config\ias.properties.

  • Enterprise Manager grid on Solaris 10 for x86 server

    Hi,
We are using Oracle 10g R2 on Solaris 10 on x86 servers.
I was going through the documentation library. I could find the EM Grid documentation for all platforms like Linux, SPARC, HP-UX, AIX etc.
However, I could not find anything for Solaris on x86 machines.
Is there any documentation specific to the x86 architecure or should I simply go through the SPARC documentation and take all the learnings from there?
    Please let me know.
    Thank you
    KV

Are you referring to the agent install or Grid (OMS) part. I don't see EM/Grid binaries for Solaris x86..that should explain why you couldn't find documentation for Solaris x86.

  • Trying to add oinstall and dba (for Oracle Database and Enterprise Manager) to my LDAP account

I want to add groups to my LDAP user account abc. Currently I have uid=243782(abc) gid=10(wheel) groups=1275(nsn-emp),9834(nsn-moh),10(wheel), but I want groups oinstall, oper and dba added.
According to the database installation document, local os group must include oinstall and dba.
The following local operating system groups and users are required if you are
    installing Oracle Database:
    ■ The Oracle Inventory group (typically, oinstall)
    ■ The OSDBA group (typically, dba)
    ■ The Oracle software owner (typically, oracle)
I tried to add abc groups oinstall and dba using root user, but it failed.
Could you please inform me how to add these groups?
    Thanks.

    Folks,
Hello. Thanks a lot for replying. I do the following command: [user@localhost bin]$ wget http://localhost.localdomain:1158/em
    The command returns the message:

The above message repeats again and again until finally returns the following message:
