British Dictionary Not Showing!

Can anyone help?
I have set my iPhone keyboard to British English but when I select a word say "Authorise" and get the definition it is giving me the American dictionary, how do I get the Bristish dictionary?

This is absurd... I restarted my computer after days of having it turned on or in deep sleep, and funny enough my dictionary came back.
I'm now blaming myself for not having tested this VERY simple troubleshooting solution the first day it appeared.
Ho well, lesson learned.

The built-in dictionary not working !!
It was working before but i don't know what happend ! I formated my iphone and then restored it from itune and when i went to notes and highlighted a word and clicked on define , it told me to download it and i was using 3G network and it told me to use wifi , and now when i'm using wifi The "define" button isn't showing !! What's wrong !!? And i reset settings but it didn't work ! What's the problem ?

Sounds like either there is something plugged into the 3.5mm Audio Output port or the micro switch inside of the port is stuck.
If have something plugged into the Audio Output port, try unplugging and replugging it in several times to see if the internal micro switch will reset from Digital to normal Output.
If not, then you may need to contact your local AASP and take the Mac Mini in for service.

I downloaded Firefox 4.0. Spellchecker is included and I have downloaded English Dictionary as Addon. It does not work on website. Spellchecker does not show up in Context Menu. I have tried every other source. Can you help please?

I understand that Spellchecker is pre-installed but I cannot verify this is the case with v.4.0 Firefox. I have right-clicked on webpages and it does not say Dictionary is missing, so I assume the problem remains with Spellchecker. I expected to find Spellchecker and Languages under Edit in nav bar but it does not show up, What must I do? Richard

That should work on a Mac as well.
You did download and install the French version?
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

Friends not showing up at all !!!

Ok, I have been using iChat for many years, have not changed anything about my settings, my network, or anything. Now, suddenly, my friends do not show up in my list, they are grayed out as if they are offline. I cannot IM them, or anything, yet, they are online at the time. Strange thing is, they all are having the same problems, myself and their friends are not showing online when they are on either. So this must be something in the iChat software, or with AIM? For us all to suddenly have the same problems. Oh, some of their friends on their list, are not necessarily my friends too, and even those people are having this problem.
What's going on? Has something changed at AOL or with iChat or something?

I have been online all day (British time)
I have not seen a mass drop out of Buddies.
However once about every 3-4 months AIM clear out what they think are unused Screen names and they also have to be removed from everyone's Buddy Lists.
This has a knock on effect depending on the name and how many people used to have them as an active buddy.

New tables & indexes created do not show up in dba_segments view

Dear all,
I have created 3 tables and some indexes, but these objects do not show up in dba_segments view. Is this a normal behaviour? Previously, with dictionary managed tablespace, I can specify the minimum extent to create, when the table/index is created. But I'm not sure how the locally managed tablespace work. Please do advice. Thank you very much in advance.
I'm using Oracle 11g R2 (11.2.0.1.0) for Microsoft Windows (x64), running on Windows 7.

Prior to 11g, when you created a table or whatever, you automatically allocated one extent.
This is now no longer true and depends on a parameter I don't remember.
dba_segments is a summary of dba_extents.
Obviously, if there is no extent allocated, the table (view is defined with inner join) will not show up.
You could qualify this is as a bug and submit a SR to Oracle. But then the performance impact may be huge.

Problem in SE80 - Objects are not showing up

Hi,
Let say example zrad package has function groups and reports but those function group and reports not showing in se80 transation. If i enter the package name only the package name alone showing.

In the SE80 for a given package, it shows
Dictionary objects
Programs
Function Groups
Includes
assigned to that package.
Hence for the programs you are checking just verify whether they have been assigned to the same package

Dear all,
I have a dataguard architecture with a primary and a standby database (for reporting stuffs). Since I upgraded physical standby to logical standby, I receive this error !

Ok I applied :
SQL> ALTER DATABASE STOP LOGICAL STANDBY APPLY;
Database altered.
SQL> alter database start logical standby apply immediate;

And now I received this :
ORA-16825: Fast-Start Failover and other errors or warnings detected for the database
Cause: The broker has detected multiple errors or warnings for the database. At least one of the detected errors or warnings may prevent a Fast-Start Failover from occurring.
Action: Check the StatusReport monitorable property of the database specified.
What does it mean to check the status report.....
I found this about monitorable status report !!

Changes not showing

when i compare two models changes in views and packages from relational model don`t showing. What am I doing wrong?

When I compare two different models or when I compare a data dictionary with a model,
the packages and the packages bodies are not part of this comparison,
you can select the packages in the menus but if you have different code in the packages is not showed in the result neither in the DDL preview,
different privileges or any other property are not showed also,
let me know if you understand the requirement now,
I'm conscience that this requirement has been asked for other users in the past,
I mean,
If I'm developing a package in the SQL Developer and after end the development I want to refresh the code of the package that I have in the model,
I can open the model directly in the SQL Developer and edit the package, copy and paste the code to the package in the model and commit the change to the subversion,
that's really helpful but if I want to merge my model with the changes in the code to other model, no differences will be appear in the result comparison also no possibility to compare it with other databases (datadictionary)

SAP 1099 - not showing credit memo - KG doc type

The vendor is flagged for 1099 and also the KG doc contains the W/H base and tax code .

Please run the S_P00_07000134 report (RFIDDYYWT ) with option of 'Further Selection' 'Credit Memo Doc. types' Technical name of P_CMDCTY with value of KG then desired result will show.

MANUAL ACTIVITIES:
1. Goto trasaction se38
2. Give the program name as 'RFIDYYWT'
3. Click on Goto->Text Elements->Selection Texts on the Menu bar
4. Goto editable mode.
5. Search for parameter 'P_CMDCTY'. Specify the selection text as
'Credit Memo Doc. types'. Uncheck the adjoining checkbox for Dictionary
ref.
6. Activate the changes.

DBA_CAPTURE_PREPARED_TABLES is not showing two tables in schema replication

Using Oracle 10.2.0.3.0 on linux 64 bit
I have setup one way Stream replication(SCHEMA REPLICATION) from production to destination server, when i am executing the query DBA_CAPTURE_PREPARED_TABLES view, it is not showing two , one of the table have same number of records as production have. Do i need to do any thing, because replication is running fine.
Do i need not to worry because i am doing schema level replication and following view is showing the name of schema

If replication is working fine on these 2 tables, you dont need to worry about these. Usually DBMS_CAPTURE_ADM.PREPARE_TABLE_INSTANTIATION API dumps the necessary streams dictionary information and enables supplemental logging. If your tables are getting replicated properly, that means the supplemental logging is already done and streams dictionary information are already available on the apply site.
Still if you need you can run DBMS_CAPTURE_ADM.PREPARE_TABLE_INSTANTIATION again for these 2 tables on the capture site so that the view gets populated but it doesnt add any value.

Dictionary not scanning words by hovering. Click and select now needed?

Before 10.6 you did not need to click and select text to look up a definition. If you just hovered the cursor over a word and typed cmd-cntl-D then the dictionary popup appeared with a definition. By continuing to hold down the cmd-cntl key and moving the cursor along the sentence, the panel followed, recognising each word and providing a definition. I used this a lot to read Chinese websites as it was able to recognise Chinese words and phrases well. Now to look up anything you must select the text, lookup the word, and then select the next text. With Asian languages the word-breaks are not obvious, but the dictionary in 10.5 was able to parse them perfectly. This is a major degradation in functionality, going from an elegant, powerful translation to a clunky non-existent one.
Some people report still being able to get dictionary popup *without selecting* the text - by hovering over it - HOW? Thanks.
BTW using right click is not the point, before 10.6 the dictionary tracked the mouse cursor without any clicks being needed. Thanks

Thanks Carolyn. No it was not Tool Tips. This was a functionality of the pop-up panel of the dictionary, that allowed it to break sentences down into words and then move along a line of text translating as it went (tokenising). The Mac has powerful tokenisers built into Cocoa (I programme with them) but seems to have disabled this functionality in Dictionary 10.6. Probably something got left out in the 64 bit re-write...
I had done a clean install so prefs were default. Tried deleting and no help.
I have noticed that the whole way Services are implemented in 10.6 is different. Before, all Service menu items were always on the menu, now the System tries to double-guess whether you need them or not, and the items on the menu change with the context. So another broken thing is that there is a Service to translate between simplified and traditional chinese. Now the System will not show the menu item if it thinks text is not in one or the other (and gets it wrong a lot). Before, you could select the service and if it was already in the right format the text stayed the same - it was a neat way to look see if there was a Traditional variant of some Simplified text. Problem now is that the code hiding the menu item is getting it wrong and wont even let you try.
Seems to me that they have tried to "simplify" the interface by getting the system smart, but not smart enough... please can the user be put back in control, leave our menu items alone ! I have submitted feedback to Apple. Maybe in 10.6.999...

HT4059 ibooks dictionary not successfully downloaded

My dictionary download is not successful but the ibooks no longer reminds me to download a dictionary.
And when I look up a word, the dictionary always shows "No definition found" since I'm afraid nothing has been downloaded.
I don't know how to re-download the dictionary so as to solve this problem
any help appreciated!

Check marks not showing in "options" spell check not working at all.

I am using the latest but not greatest version which is 13. The spell check feature is not working at all. It works in FF 3.6.28 when I remove this great upgrade but of course I always get the standard ,"your version of Firefox is outdated"
The check marks in the option tabs do not show at all. I have to guess if I have something checked or not.
I have I think the dictionary installed. I went to the add on page for American English and added it. It said it did but when I look at my add on list it does not show.
I like Firfox I really do, but I may have to completely delete it and relunctantly use Chrome, because spell check works in it.
It works in Safari, it works in IE, It works everwhere except FF13.

ITunes does not show up on apple tv 1st gen.

i have a 1st gen apple tv with the 160 gig HD. recently, it will not show the itunes site. Under teh movies tab there are my movies and trailers and that's it. Does anyone know how to get the itunes store back on apple tv?
