Broadband activated a week ago- email still not wo...

I'm writing on behalf of a friend from my village whose BT Broadband I set up last week – for the avoidance of doubt, it is working well. However, the @btinternet.com email address which he was given when he joined BT has still not been activated, over a week since his broadband activation date.
I attempted to solve this with him earlier today by contacting BT Live Chat online as well as your telephone support team. Unfortunately, neither could help – the latter claimed the activation of his email was "in progress" according to his system, but I wonder if this is true given that the email account should have been activated by midnight on the broadband activation date, according to both the original letter he received and the BT website.
I don't want to spend any more of his time or mine on the phone without resolution, especially this close to Christmas! I've even tried to 'prompt' the activation by going through the BT Yahoo! webmail password reset, but perhaps unsuprisingly this doesn't work because said process claims the email address does not exist.
Can anyone offer any advice? Many thanks in advance.

    I am glad that we decided not to cut off Comcast until we decided whether or not Verizon worked for us.  At my parents' home, I can't even get a DSL connection despite chatting with tech support, reviewing the Westell manual and following through with all the troubleshooting tips on the Verizon website.
    At my house, I've been testing the connection speed between Verizon and Comcast on the days we have a connection.  Comcast is easily 3x's as fast as Verizon.
    Today I have attempted to reach Verizon by phone and via chat with no success.  I am ready to pack up their equipment and send it back to them.  Anyone know what the proper procedure would be to notify Verizon we need to terminate services?

    With that being said...
    Call up Verizon at 1800-VERIZON, contact Billing. Tell Billing you wish to disconnect service, they'll send you to retentions. In retentions, tell them why you're canceling the connection, and refuse any offer. They can't get you back, they'll put the disconnect request through.

  • Facebook and Slacker no longer working with Firefox. Still work with Explorer. Until a week ago problem did not exist.

    I am for about one week not able to input information on Facebook. Also the Facebook page appears in a huge font. Regarding Slacker I do not see any available online radio stations. Until about a week ago everything worked fine. At present I can work with Internet Explorer, but at present can no longer work with Firefox.

    Okay first, stay in one thread, go back and resolve the other one. OK?
    Try this:
    GO TO OPTIONS/ADVANCED OPTIONS/HOST ROUTING TABLES/menu key REGISTER NOW
    You will an activation email when complete, this refreshes the tables.
    I would then login to the BIS site to send service books. When complete
    you will get an activation email per account.
    If you want to use the BIS site via PC send me the carrier and I'll send you the site.

    You should have tracking info from your seller and shipper. Track your package.

    Why did I pre-order this album so I can hear it as soon as it came out but I'm all over apple trying to figure out why the heck it won't download!!!! Thats completely asinine and I'm highly upset it, if this problem isn't fixed by morning further action will be taken. This phone cost to much to have any petty flaws, like really why couldn't I have just waited until i woke up the next morning to buy it if this was going to be such a Hassle.   • UPS transferred my package to local post office a week ago and still have not received package

    I ordered a pair of headphones online and got the email saying it was shipped on April 20. I live in Buffalo and the package was shipped from Syracuse. I tracked the package on UPS and it said it transferred the package to the local post office in Buffalo on April 21.
    When I checked the USPS website, it just says been 7 days and I still have not received it. 
    I need help in finding out where my package is. I'm wondering if it got lost in the post office since it's a pretty small package.  
    Should I contact Best Buy to replace my order and mail me another one? The address I'm living in is temporary and I will be moving from that address in two weeks so I'm worried about how long it will take. (I cannot have it mailed to the store to pick it up because I do not own a car and the local Best Buy store is too far for me)

    I can certainly understand that waiting for a refund can be very disappointing, especially if it takes more than the time expected. Normally, credit card refunds can take a few days and up to a billing cycle depending on your financial institution.
    Per the information you’ve provided in your profile (email address), I took some time to check the order. It seems as though what you saw was not an actual charge but an authorization. Essentially, authorizations can also take a few days to be posted on your account. With that said, I am hoping that during the next few days you’re able to make use of your funds.
