Broadband Fault 11 Days and Counting

Never has the phrase "Pillar to Post" been more apt to the service I have received over a broad band fault.
I reported my fault as per the website and since then I have made I don't know how many phonecalls to find out what is going on. The fault log on my account has not been updated, no-one can actually tell me where the fault is apart from the engineer who visited my house and who told BT Wholesale where the fault is but apparently thats not where it is.
Everytime I call I get passed to someone else who will "Personally take ownership" but doesn't, otherwise I would have a dozen people looking after me and all they want me to do is a line check or ask me once again what I have plugged in.
My last call today was that they have modified my profile at the exchange, not fixed the card at the exchange which the engineer told was the problem and that I am going to have to wait another 66 hours for it to be fixed.
So all in 14 days to fix a broadband fault. Their complaints department has still not gotten back to me and I have now raised the issue with otello, who the people at BT didn't what they are. I'm glad I don't run a business that relies on the broadband service otherwise I would have a serious credit problem by now.
I checked a few other non BT forums and found that there are some real serious issues about how BT deals with long running faults and complaints, so why haven't they improved themselves?
Least I do not have to talk to them for 66 hours, it will give my head a rest and I might be able to enjoy myself and surf the web, oh sorry I can't because I have a broadband problem, better call BT, round and round I go again.

  • EXHAUSTED!!! 25 DAYS AND COUNTING FOR INSTALL!

Well its got to the point where i think ive just about had it with BT im appalled by them now!!!up to now ive been kept well informed as to what's been going on without me having to ring them .Then Last Friday the day that finally i was gonna get my final appointment (the 4th appointment) i was told yet another excuse/reason as to why this wasn't going to happen and that it will take 48 hrs to sort, so tuesday will now be the day i get my appointment, i was then sent a text with a number and to call  if it wasn't sorted by tuesday which is when they were suppose to ring me again with an update but i didn't get the call (the 1ST time)?
so i called the number i got texted and its the infinity call centre in Dundee well guess what? the problem still persists and that they sent a request but it still hasn't been answered so it could well be another 48 hrs until openreach respond, i asked for a manager to call me back because the person at the call centre was just not bothered atall about my situation and sounded uninterested, well that didn't happen either.
My MAC code runs out on the 20th that will be a month since i ordered, just over infact!!! i ordered 17th march. And just to add insult to injury my BT account states that the total order was complete on the 7th april(my 3rd appointment date)and they will be taking the 1st month broadband payment off me by DD on the 23rd april. I KNOW ITS HARD TO BELIEVE BUT ITS ALL TRUE!!!
SO I WARN ANYONE THINKING OF DEALING WITH BT THINK HARD AND LONG???
days off work,3 engineer appointments,25 days and counting for install, paying for a service i havnt got and uninterested customer services and managers not returning calls.WELCOME TO BT!!!
WATCHDOG,CISAS,OFFICE OF FAIR TRADING AND THE MAN HIMSELF IAN LIVINGSTON. all getting emails.

I read through your thread Boostmonkey like you say similar in alot of ways, only i wished id read your thread earlier as i mite have got things done sooner(infact i don't know how i missed it).Ive had some progress today but im not saying anything as im still waitng for some concrete confirmation.
Good luck with it anyway. let me know how you get on.

  • 91 Days and counting and Photo Stream still grayed out in iCloud CP

Well, in the past 11 days, my daughter produced twin boys. However, Apple hasn't fixed the crummy attempt at iCloud for 91 days now.
91 Days and counting and Photo Stream still grayed out in iCloud CP since problem first discussed with Apple. No help, just reported to software engineers for investigation. Three months ago!
So much for Apples's superior products and customer service.
Photo Stream works fine between 2iPhone4Ssand one iPad2.
Completely removed iTunes, per tech help instructions, and completely remove iCloud.
    Downloaded latest iTunes
    Reinstalled iTunes.

    Reinstalled iCloud.

Photo Stream still grayed out on PC iCloud Control Panel

I have posted a fix that works for two issues:
You can't sign onto iCloud Control Panel;  just hangs with a spinning progress wheel forever..
You CAN sign onto iCloud Control Panel, but things like photostream are greyed out
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3811063?tstart=30
If you have iCloud control panel open, close it. Make sure its not even minimized on your system tray.
Copy this path to your clipboard: %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\Preferences
Goto 'start -> run' (or click 'windows+r' hotkey)
Paste the path in the run box and hit enter
From the folder that is opened, rename 'MobileMeAccounts.plist' out of the way (or you can delete it if want..)
Restart iCloud control panel and try logging on again. MobileMeAccounts.plist is regenerated the next time you sign out from control panel.
Apparently MobileMeAccounts.plist is getting screwed up in a couple different ways and prevents this from working correctly.  After you log on control panel again, photostream will not be greyed out.  You will have to reselect your custom path you want to store your pictures unless you just wanted to stick with the default path control panel is set to.

You can't sign onto iCloud Control Panel;  just hangs with a spinning progress wheel forever..
You CAN sign onto iCloud Control Panel, but things like photostream are greyed out

  • 59 Days and counting and Photo Stream still grayed out in iCloud C

59 Days and counting and Photo Stream still grayed out in iCloud CP since problem first discussed with Apple. No help, just reported to software engineers for investigation. Almost two months ago! So much forApples' superior products and customer service.
Photo Stream works fine between 2 iPhone 4Ss and one iPad2.
Completely removed iTunes, per tech help instructions, and completely remove iCloud.
    Downloaded latest iTunes
    Reinstalled iTunes.
    Downloaded latest iCloud
    Reinstalled iCloud.
Logged in to iCloud on PC
Photo Stream still grayed outon PC iCloud Control Panel. Photo Stream doesn't work on PC, only between iOSdevices

I have posted a fix that works for two issues:
You can't sign onto iCloud Control Panel;  just hangs with a spinning progress wheel forever..
You CAN sign onto iCloud Control Panel, but things like photostream are greyed out
