Broadband keeps disconnecting when I play a PC gam...

Everytime I try to play a PC game, whether it is online or not, I get disconnected from the interent. I have BTHub3-GX6z and the lights on the Hub are always blue. Only my desktop computer gets disconnected, my sisters laptop does not and stays connected. This has been happening for a few days now and it's really annoying me. Please help

are you connected wired or wireless?  if wired tried a different port on the hub if wireless you can try downloading inssider2 (istumbler if MAC) and then run it. This will show the broadcasting networks round about you and their channels including your own. If you then enter your router and change your wireless channel to a free or less congested channel.
you can also try changing from default b/g/n to jusy b/g
make sure your network drivers are up to date

  • Pad air keeps pausing when I play netflix

My ipad air keeps pausing when I play netflix. I'm using AirPort Extreme and my internet is fine (28 MBps). Also netflix works fine on my Apple TV running on the same network.  I have updated all of the firmware, software and apps on all of the devices including the router. Nothing seems to make it work. Anyone else having this issue or any solutions?

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.
    Fix Slow WiFi Issue https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2398063?start=60&tstart=0
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • TS3274 Keeps disconnecting when I'm on a website?

My iPad keeps disconnecting when I'm on Facebook and other websites. Why is this?

Click here and follow the instructions, or if there’s a type of adware not covered by them on the computer, these ones. If you're willing to use a tool to remove it(you don't need to, but may find it easier), you can instead run Adware Medic; this link is a direct download.

You used the data.  Verizon can not see what it was sued for.  However your phone can see whats apps used the data.  go to settings-data usage- there will be a place that says data usage cycle.  line the dates up with your cycle.  then there will be a bar graph below that   extend bother white bars one all the way to the left and one all the way to the right.  after those are extended below that will be a list of apps,  there should be one that used over 2 gb and that will show you what app used that data in her purse

  • Re: Broadband keeps disconnecting :(

My broadband kept disconnection several times a day for several months, and every now and then BT would do a line test and tell me that the line was fine, so the problem must be at my end. To cut a long story short, they finally sent an engineer who was here for 3 hours resolving a problem with the way the line had originally been installed by another BT engineer! It works very well now but took months and several long phone calls to resolve, because BT seemed so reluctant to consider it might be a problem at their end.

    Welcome to the forum.
There are so many things it might be.  However, "it works very well" now sounds promising.  If it beginds to play up again, tak a date/time stamp when than it happening.  Then come back here if you want, Im sure help will be at hand.

My 3rd generation apple TV keeps disconnecting like 2 minutes into a movie I'm mirroring. It's so annoying! I have restarted our wifi and it still is the same. What could be the issue here?

  • Broadband keeps disconnecting

I have an iMac and a BT homehub. The BT homehub lights are always blue, but my iMac when working wirelessly frequently disconnects. It's not the line, it's not the connections, I can see from iStumble the channel I use is not being used by anyone else (7). The Airport simply says 'login timeout' every time I try and connect wirelessly. I ring BT customer care and they tell me to restart the hub and the imac. This works about 40% of the time. I lose connection now several times a day. I never get anything more from customer care than 'restart the homehub' and this is just not practical as it doesn't always work. Please can anyone help? I always seem to lose connection when a work deadline arrives, and usually at peak times. I'm self employed and work from home, so it's really important I get this sorted. Can anyone help? Thanks

Hello Charlie, thanks for your reply
I have tried ethernet, but it's the same issue 'connection timeout'. A wired connection would be very impractical full time, thus the homehub. Sometimes I know that the broadband speed is so incredibly slow that it thinks there's no connection. I did a broadband speed test a while back, and it was about a 10th of the minimum I'm supposed to be getting. Other times it's quick.
Jek.  It's a little difficult to picture the problem you are having.  Forgive me, I'm from the land of the PC, so Macs are mythical creatures that use a combination of electronics and magic.
    When you say:
"I have tried ethernet, but it's the same issue 'connection timeout'."
...The wireless connection requires authentication with the hub.  However, an wired ethernet connection to the hub doesn't really establish a connection - it is just there.  When you get connection timeout with a wired connection, are you able to access the hub directly (browse to 192.168.1.254)?
If you can, then it isn't clear to me what connection is timing out.  Is it a connection to something on the Internet you are using?  A web page?
I recommend eliminating the wireless until you've pinned down the problem, since WiFi is a dark art at the best of times.

  • Why does my iphone 5c keep disconnecting when charging in my VW polo?

I recently bought and iphone 5c, my car has an MDI port so i can play my music through the head unit and also charge the phone. this worked perfectly fine with my old iphone 4 and appears to work with my friends iphone 5's. When mine is plugged in it disconnects and reconnects every 25 seconds or so.
I don't think it's the car or the wire itself as it seems to work fine with other iphones. Any ideas?

I have the official VW iphone 5 adaptor. I have tried 3rd party 30pin to lightning adaptors to put on the end of my old iphone 4 mdi cable but they only charged the phone. they weren't compatable with audio.
i've tried my friends iphone 5 in it today so i'm starting to think its the phone. but why would it work sometimes and act up other days?

  • Broadband Line disconnects when Landline calls are...

Whenever the landline is used to make a phone call the Broadband service drops, this causes my synch to drop right down to painful speeds. I have tried many different microfilters to no avail although I'm pretty sure its not a problem with the microfilters because when the BT Broadband Talk phone was used to make landline phone calls this would also make the broadband drop. The problem is not constant, we can go through a period when the the service will stay stable for weeks on end and our synch will go up to about 1500kbps. I don't have a master socket but even when the phone and broadband are connected to the first usable socket the problem still persists. I've put up with the problem now since getting Broadband in 2007 and I'm getting increasingly frustrated.
    Thanks for your help,
    Chris

Thought I would add my experience with a similar problem with BB dropping out and hissing noise on the phone line which disappeared when the Hub was unplugged.
I reported this issue several times and had a visit from a BB engineer and 3 visits from openreach engineers.
By process of elimination my problem was finally resolved by the final openreach engineer who seemed to be more familiar as to why this was happening and instead of looking for physical fault on the line (which there wasn't) he looked into what might be causing noise induction on the line. He also explained that sometimes these issues could be caused by a neighbours faulty equipment such as TV set top box or even radio interference from nearby power cables.
There were no obvious reasons to what was causing this issue, but I was fortunate enough to have a dormant line pair from an old business line that was still connected all the way from the exchange to my house, the engineer swapped my phoneline and BB service to this dormant connection and hey presto hissing noise disappeared from the phone, nice clear calls now and my BB has been up continuously for over 3 days which Hasn't been achieved for many months.
So if you are experiencing dropping BB checked the phone for noise, sometimes using the phone will cause the BB to dropout. If there is noise see if it disappears when you disconnect your hub. If it doesn't then I would suspect a physical line problem, if it does disappear I would suspect there is some sort interference on the line being pick somewhere along the way between the exchange and your house, internal problems can be eliminated by plugging your hub into the BT test socket and test from there.
Not a easy one to find, but persistence from BT did finally resolve my issue.
    Hope this helps.

  • My itunes keeps freezing when I play one song;

I recently bought the album "Madvillainy" on the itunes store and whenever I play the song "Great Day" it freezes my entire computer at the 1:25 mark. If I'm quick I can shut down itunes fast enough to keep the whole computer from freezing up, but otherwise I can't even open the task manager to shut itunes down.
I am also now getting a message that reads "The itunes library folder cannot be saved. An unknown error occurred (-50). This is irritating to me.
Also why isn't there an e-mail address for support?

It's probably a corrupt file. Delete it and contact the iTunes Music Store customer support department through the form at the bottom of this web page and explain the problem to them. Or log into the iTunes Music Store, go to your Purchase History, find the problem track, click the arrow to the left of the track listing, and use the reporting link there.

There may be an explanation for what you have run into.
On what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 11 running? Windows 8 or 8.1? And, are you exporting to MPEG2.mpg file and playing that back on Windows Media Player? If that is the case, please download and install the VLC player
VideoLAN - Official page for VLC media player, the Open Source video framework!
and let us know if the export plays back video and audio on that player.
If this is the known Microsoft MPEG2 Windows Media Player issue, then explore Publish+Share/Computer/ opportunities other than MPEG or use the VLC player instead of Windows Media Player for the playback of the MPEG2.mpg exports.
Please let us know the outcome.
    Thanks.
