Broadband there but not working!
Hi,
I moved home and it has taken BT 7 months yes 7 months to re connect our broadband due to engineering work. ive been given no idea how long this is going to take so you can imagine when l recieved a text message today to say it was up and running l fell off my chair!!!
My laptop is picking up my homehub connection but there is a yellow exclamation mark on it and its not working! With regards to the hub the broadband light isn't on and the phone light is orange. I have a dial tone and l have tried two different ADSL filters (neither of them new)....any ideas or will it be another phone call to BT tomorrow???

Its really frustrating as the connection is there its just not quite right for some reason.
if your broadband light is not showing and the phone line is orange your broadband is not yet active broadband can be activated at any time up to midnight on the activation day

Downloaded Muse before Creative Cloud. Muse there but not working, Paid for?

I have just given my bank account details and paid to download Adobe Muse (it said nothing about having Creative Cloud open, etc)... Didn't know if I needed it open?
Anyway, it said 'downloading Muse' I couldn't find it anywhere... then I realised I must need to have Creative Cloud - I installed/Opened Creative Cloud and there it is, Muse - right at the top of the menu... It says it is installed... I can't see it on my Mac HD in the Applications folder though. AND it will NOT open. It says I must uninstall. However, the uninstall feature is shaded out, so I CANNOT uninstall. I use this application at work and I need to be able to use it now.
Please can you tell me how I can get Adobe Muse to work?
Only other conditions:
Using Mavericks
Had a trial version of Muse on my machine (forgot to delete - deleted now and move to trashed after an uninstall of that version)

Nobody at Adobe available to help. I need to be using this this weekend. It's not life or death, but it's my JOB on the line here.
ANY advice as to what's gone wrong and how to fix it will be most welcome. Been sat here for ages trying to follow all online forum advice... it may have worked for them, but not for me... oh, and it is NOT showing up in my Uninstaller either....

But as I have said.... nobody is responding to me... it (your link) just keeps reloading the same old tired pages and say that there is nobody available right now.

This is getting totally ridiculous now.
Firstly, I have CS5/5.5 versions running on my machine.
Secondly, I paid for and installed Adobe Muse.
Thirdly, Adobe Muse wouldn't launch without telling me to reinstall Application Manager.
Fourth, I kept on reinstalling the Application Manager and Adobe Muse would not work.
Fifth, Adobe Muse 'uninstall' was shaded out, so I could not uninstall that either.
Sixth, Adobe Muse eventually started working, but then ALL of my CS5 software STOPPED working.
Seventh, I disconnected from the internet and Creative Cloud to see if my CS5 software would start to work - no, it did not.
Eighth, I have now logged back into Creative Cloud and it is now saying 'Start trial' for Adobe Muse... remember, the software that I have actually paid for and downloaded has now turned itself into a trial.
I am absolutely fed up to the back teeth.
I am going to cancel my subscription if this new software and my OLD software do not start working today. This is totally ridiculous and has been going on for days and I cannot seem to get ANY help from you guys.
Unfortunately, they didn't have ONE SINGLE MEMBER of staff available on the """""""24/7""""""" 'HELP'line.
Adobe, you are a joke.
I am calling your number first thing on Monday and if anybody answers (which I doubt) I will be cancelling my subscription and I require a full refund. -
Superdrive There but Not Working at All
My superdrive appears as normal in the system profiler. It will accept and eject disks. However, there is no sign of life in the drive. No temporary spinning or other sign of activity, just silence. I've tried a variety of CDs and DVDs.
I tried updating firmware (successfully) but it did not help. Any other ideas?Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions.
It sounds like a mechanical issue to me; which means a new drive.
External Firewire drives are readily available.
Internal drives and very cheap but fairly complicated to fit.
If you are unsure take it to a AASP for their opinion.

I am having trouble with iMessage being activated. It has worked up until yesterday and now won't activate and is saying no address in the send and receive section. My number is there but not ticked. Any suggestions on how to fix this? I have shut down my phone, but still no luck!
iMessage and FaceTime went down yesterday for some people. Mine is still down. My iMessage is saying the same thing about being activated. Sounds like you are still down too. Ignore the status page that says everything is fine - it lies.

I carefully followed the directions for installing Thunderbird. I am running WinXP pro. Thunderbird is there but not functioning. I am 78 years old and I need help from you re: install. I can not right click "open in new tab" nor open in new window, in my bookmark file.the bookmarks are all there, but I have to open a tab first then left click to open an item. Why can't I right click? The options are there, but not highlighted/clickable.

Be more specific on the problem you are facing so that the ppl here can help..
looks like your are trying to file to file scenario and the file is not generating at the target folder ...
then check the communication logs of the receiver adapter using RWB->CC logs..
post the error you have received there..

one fine day yesterday, my i phone just hangup lost all contact detail. The screen only show a picture depicting cable connection to iTune. I have tried to restore iphone to factory setting but not working . May i know how to proceed to recover lost contacts.
I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. And they backed up my old Iphone 4, but were not able to get anything to load back onto my new phone. So, I lost pretty much everything. But over time, some of my contacts have started showing up, although i am still missing over 800 of them.

My company has a software product that accepts dragged items. In all versions of Windows from XP through Windows 10 build 9926 that functionality has worked fine. However, with build 10049 (possibly 10041 which I did not test thoroughly before going
to 10049) and now 10061 that functionality stopped working. The application calls DragAcceptFiles to enable drag drop messages. In addition, either ChangeWindowMessageFilter is called on Vista or ChangeWindowMessageFilterEx is called on Windows
7 and higher for the messages WM_DROPFILES, WM_COPYDATA, and WM_COPYGLOBALDATA. This was working fine on Windows 10 build 9926. Now when I attempt to drag an item to our software product, I get the "Don't" symbol (circle with line through
it) and no WM_DROPFILES messages are received. The application is unchanged with only an upgrade to the Windows 10 build performed. As a sanity check, I created a brand new VM running build 9926 and the functionality worked fine. I then upgraded
the VM to 10049 and it stopped working. The following day I upgraded to 10061 and it is still broken. Is there are new filter or restriction in place since build 9926 on DragAcceptFiles that would be stopping the traditional drag drop procedure
from working? This is very frustrating because there is a dearth of information on Windows 10 API changes and since this appears to be some kind of recent change, I am out of ideas of where to look for answers. I can duplicate this problem on the older
platforms by simply calling DragAcceptFiles with the second parameter set to false. In that case, on Windows 7 for example, I will get the "Don't" symbol just I am getting now in the Windows 10 TP with the argument set to true.DragAcceptFiles is now working again in 10074 so whatever the problem was, it has been fixed.

My first thought is to make sure that you are actually logged in using the same AppleID on both devices. Many folks share one AppleID for their family's iTunes Store account yet use another personal AppleID to log into iMessage settings and iCloud settings.
To confirm that the AppleID and password you are using is correct I would suggest visiting http://icloud.com and attempting to login there. If you get in, then you know for sure that that is a valid AppleID/password pair.
If that still doesn't reveal the issue then I would try opening Notes app on both iPhones, and then typing your password out where it can be seen clearly. This may reveal if your are typing it differently due to iOS 8 changes in the shift key indicator, or possibly that a screen protector or case is causing your touches to not register the same on both devices.

USB Devices Recognized but not working!
Having issues with working USB devices, but only some...??? Very confused. Here it is:
- 20gig ipod, ipod mini all recognized by apple system profiler and working (shows up on desktop) Through USB and firewire
- Canon Rebel XT (USB 2.0), Macally mouse(USB 1.0), RECOGNIZED in apple system profiler...but not working!!! Iphoto doesn't recognize a camera is connected and mouse not responding
The camera in mouse i tested in another mac and they are working.
If my logic board is cooked, then why would the ipods still work?? So, what is the problem???? PLEASE HELP
lucLuke, many of the peripials such as cameras, printers, scanners, some will plug right in and work.
Others, need to plugged in and restart your computer,for them to work.
and last but not least some need there own drivers to operate correctly.
Those that need drivers normally come with an insallation CD for this purpose... Cheers...Don
