"broadcast flags" incorrectly set - who do we notify and will anyone care?

The "broadcast flag" on many over-air network TV shows now appear to be set incorrectly. They are now "copy once" instead of "copy freely" which is what all broadcast media is supposed to be set to.
According to what I've researched online, the broadcasters (NBC, CBS, PBS, etc) can accideltally set the flag to "copy once" but it is far more frequent that the provider (Cox, Comcast, Verizon...) sets it. Cox is notorious for setting everything to "copy once" while TimeWarner in the past often set everything to "copy freely"
Does anyone know who we can bring this problem up with? The FCC perhaps?

Some FOX and CBS affiliates are known to set the "broadcast flag." It doesn't affect anything except Firewire output. Motorola STBs and DVRs encrypt Firewire output of any channel with the broadcast flag. You can still record those unencrypted channels with a PC QAM tuner, and other DVRs like TiVo also ignore the broadcast flag for the purposes of transfers/downloads.
Federal courts already eliminated the legal requirement to observe the broadcast flag. But there's nothing that says an affiliate or specific manufacturer can't observe it on their own equipment. Motorola does that with their equipment, regardless of provider.
If you want to record unencrypted HD local channels with your Windows PC, I suggest picking up a QAM tuner like the Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250. If you want a standalone HDTV DVR that ignores those flags, then you can buy a TivoHD.

Does the Airport Express support the DHCP BROADCAST flag

In trying to connect a vista laptop to an existing Airport Express Network and the internet, went ot MS Help and found an article saying Vista is set with a 0 (Zero) in the Registry (whatever that is).The comment is -

PO print preview displays incorrect setting in decimal places

Dear Experts
Please help me on the following condition.
I have a problem in print preview of a PO. It displays the incorrect setting for decimal place in currency.
It shows USD 1.404,00 whereby the amount should be USD 1,404.00
This only happens to a certain vendor that is doing PO for the first time from that country
Example:
I'm creating a PO for vendor 123. Vendor 123 is located in country A. No PO has been created for any
vendor in country A before. When I saved my PO, in print preview, the decimal setting is not correct.
But when I'm creating another PO, for vendor 234. Vendor 234 is located in country B. There have been
several POs created for vendors in country B before. When I saved my PO, in print preview, the decimal
setting is correct.
Both vendor 123 and vendor 234 is using currency of USD.
Is there any other setting with the vendor master in regard with the currency decimal setting for each
country for the vendor? Or something that I've missed out?
Diagnosis:
I've checked with the user profiles->default-> decimal notation. It displays 1,234,567.89 correctly
I've also run OY04, but the decimal setting is correct.

this has nothing to do with print preview, it is just basic country setting (OY01) how a quantity and value is written on a PO to a vendor is country xyz.
German uses to comma to seperate decimals, while USA uses the point to seperate decimals
this would be the German version 1.404,00, and this the US version:: 1,404.00
so if an American sends a PO to a German vendor, then the document will show 1.404,00 so that the German can understand that he wants 1404. (and not 1000 times less)

You can create an iTune and App Store account without credit card details
1. Sign out of current Apple ID if you are sign-in to one (important)
2. Go to App Store and select a free app
3. Tap INSTALL APP

7. Fill in your Apple ID and Password (you must create a new Apple ID; don't use your old Apple ID)

If you kept the same Base Station name and network name, that can confuse Keychain Access. Either change the Base Station and network name, or open Keychain Access Utility and delete any reference to your Base Station and network name. Make sure you delete from the Login and System keychains.

Hp6700 Printer: can't connect to D-Link DI-514 Wireless Router when Broadcast SSID is set to NO.

HP6700 Printer: can't connect to D-Link DI-514 Wireless Router when Router Broadcast SSID is set to NO. My MAC LapTop and HP LapTop both work with the SSID set to NO. If I change the Wireless Router to Broadcast SSID is YES, then the HP6700 Printer can connect to the Wireless Router. I setup the Printer telling it what the SSID and Password were, the same as both of my LapTops, but it never connects, unless I change the Router to broadcast the SSID. Help!

Did you try updating the firmware on the DI-514?
You can also try setting a static IP on the printer, then assign the printer to the static DHCP list in the router interface.
To give your printer a static IP address:
- Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
- Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
- Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
- On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') to 250
- Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
- Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway.
- Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS. This is Google DNS. You can choose another external DNS if you wish.
- Click 'Apply'.
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
After this you will have delete and re-add the printer on your Mac.

File Receiver Adapter - writes empty message although ignore flag is set

Hi,
i have an file FTP receiver channel configured with content conversion. I also have set the "Empty-Message-Handling" flag to "Ignore", so empty messages with 0 kb are not written to the FTP server.
My problem is now: empty file are written to FTP server although this flag is set to "Ignore".
For example: A message with the following content arrives at my receiver adapter:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<ns0:MT_ArticleMaster xmlns:ns0="http://ihle.com/tyredating/core"></ns0:MT_ArticleMaster>
The resulting file has 0kb.
Does anyone have an idea why empty message are not getting ignored by this setting? Although the flag is set?

ideally the file adapter will expect a message with no content in it. so i suggest you use a simple java mapping to check if there is any content between the tags, if there is no content then write out an empty string to the outputstream else pass the same inputstream out

The 10.8.2 version of "helpd" incorrectly sets "PreventUserIdleDisplaySleep"

Ever since upgrading from 10.8.1 to 10.8.2, I have noticed that after a short amount of time of using my machine, the system stops going into "display sleep" when idle, and it never again automatically activates the screen saver.
After investigating, I noticed that the "helpd" process is incorrectly setting "PreventUserIdleDisplaySleep". This is illustrated by the following output of "pmset -g assertions" ...

I see no valid reason for a background process like "helpd" to prevent the screen from going to sleep ... especially a long-running background process. I therefore believe that this is a bug. My guess is that the Apple developer might have accidentally typed "PreventUserIdleDisplaySleep" instead of "PreventUserIdleSystemSleep" in the 10.8.2 "helpd" source code.
I will soon report this to Apple as a bug. In the mean time, do any of you have thoughts about this issue?

I realize now that helpd is not the cause, but rather, certain other programs are setting the PreventUserIdleDisplaySleep power-management assertion within powerd, and that this assertion remains in effect even after those badly behaved programs exit. I'm looking for a way to clear PreventUserIdleDisplaySleep within powerd without killing and restarting powerd.
Does anyone know how to do this?

Who do you notify about a bad / corrupted file in a Album download?

So who do I notify if one song in an album is being reported as corrupted, and will not download. The Album (Circumstance - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), Song # 9 "FInding You" by Gingger Shankar. I get the same error on the iPad as I do in iTunes on my WIndows PC, download error.
Any suggestions on how to get the file / album repaired so that all songs download properly.

I am trying to set WHO columns in an Oracle APPs custom form.
I tried fnd_standard.set_who
bit gives an error, cannot insert null into creation date;
i tried just setting it to USER
but gives pre insert error -ora06502
is there any other way to set WHO columns??

If you are updating using an EO and the tables have columns such as created_by,creation_date, last_update_date etc, OAF will automatically populate these.
If you don't have these columns in your table, and get an error saying something like ' class must be declared abstract, setlastupdatelogin not defined', then implement empty methods to override this behavior.
Also, how are you trying to set the value to 'USER'? The error you see is because of a wrong datatype.

OIM: How does USR_POLICY_UPDATE flag get set?

We're finding that some of our users are getting the USR_POLICY_UPDATE flag set to "1", which is causing access policy evaluation when the user is updated. In some cases we do not want this evaluation to occur.
My question is: What task or process is setting this flag? USR_POLICY_UPDATE=1

One I know about this is
There is a OOTB scheduled task "Set User Provisioned Date". which sets the provisioned date to the current date for users for whom all of the following conditions are true:
*The provisioning date is in the past.
* The deprovisioned date has not been set.
* The deprovisioning date has not been reached or is NULL.
The setting of the provisioned date to the current date causes the policies to be evaluated for the users affected by an access policy update. After the evaluation is completed for the users, the usr_policy_update flag is set to NULL.
