Broadcast messaging and pop-up screens?

When I try to create a broadcast message on the webclient a new screen is opened in the background leaving the opening screen on u201Cloading modeu201D.
When I approach the hidden screen and try to open for example the tab u201Cmaintain distribution listsu201D a new screen is opened again in the background for this tab.
Does anyone has the same problem?

I hope you are running the application in IE7. If yes please do the below settings which will help you to solve the problem.
In Internet Explorer.
Tools -> Internet Options -> Security -> Internet or Local Intranet or Trusted sites -> Custome Level
1. Miscellaneous->Access data sources across domains-> Enable
2. Miscellaneous->Allow scripting of Internet Explorer web browser control->Enable
3. Miscellaneous->Allow script-initiated windows without size or position contraints->Enable
4. Miscellaneous->Navigate subframes across different domains->Enable
5. Miscellaneous->Use Popup Blocker->Disable.
Save and then try to launch the Broadcast application.

If Invoice Contains any Message It will not allow you to Post it untill and unless you resolve the error.
and Looking in to the Mesg screen is just a Add on for you. as soon as you try to save it it will directly show you the Mesg(if its error one).

Question regarding "Broadcast Messages" feature

Hello All,
I am trying to use the Broadcast Message feature from workspace to notify our planning users who are logged in about the downtimes etc. While working with the feature i noticed something -
The Broadcast Message that is sent by the admin shows up as a pop up but only when the user navigates from the current page to a different page. It doesn't work or pop up when the user is on a dataform and refreshes the data form or choses any other option. As per how it's working now lets say a user is already logged in the planning application and is working on a dataform and is just saving data/refreshing the data form he will not see the message at all.
Is there something that I am missing or is there any other way for the message box to pop up even though the user is hitting refresh? I did go through the Oracle documentation on Broadcast Messages and it says :
"+For users logged on to the application, the broadcast message displays in their browser the next time they refresh the page or go to a different page, whether you send the broadcast message through the Web or the command line.+"
but it doesnt look like it works when you hit refresh.
Please let me know your thoughts on this. Any help is appreciated.

While I was reading the documentation on Broadcast Messages it said -
You can view status, errors, or information for broadcasting messaging in the console.
Maybe it meant you can view all the information regarding the Broadcast Messages in the console when you launch the utility using the command line.
So I was hoping that in a same way there would be a place where you could see all this information regarding the Broadcast Messages when sending from the web and asked this question.

Syslog broadcast messages dumping on Terminal

I have a mini-Linux router that is sending syslog messages to my server. Problem is, it sends a "broadcast message" that pops up in Terminal. Here is what it writes:

192.168.19.1 is the router and root@cube is the server. Anyone know what is causing this? Console.log is apparently the target of these messages but it sure makes it tough to use Terminal.

The problem is that the router is sending messages with the kernel priority. These are usually critical level events that you want to know about.
I'd first look to change the router's log level so that it only reports events that are relevant.
Failing that you can tell the OS to route kern messages elsewhere but then any kernel messages from your system would be lost.
If you want to take the latter route you need to edit /etc/syslog.conf
The line that's causing you problems is:
\.err;kern.;auth.notice;authpriv,remoteauth,install.none;mail.crit /dev/console
which tells syslog to route all kern.* messages to the console. Either remove the kern.* entry altogether, or create a new line for kern.* with a different destination (e.g. /var/log/system.log).

BBM feature request: Blocking broadcast messages

I've searched this forum and (surprisingly) not found any references to what is possibly the most annoying "feature" that RIM has introduced since I've owned a berry. By providing the broadcast function in the newer versions of Messenger, my berry is now subject to the same stupid, irrelevant, inane and/or unoriginal jokes/rumours/prayer request-type junk mail that I strenuously guard my email inbox against. However, while I can set up filters and rules to block such unwanted email messages, there are no such controls present in BBM and the only way to effectively counter repeat offenders is to delete them from your contact list, which is a sledgehammer vs nut solution, to say the least.
In my list of contacts, there are certain individuals who regularly send out such broadcast messages and then there are others who are thoroughly irritated by them, like myself, but then compound the situation by sending out aggravated, ill-tempered broadcasts complaining about previous messages. When you have a couple hundred contacts, it really can get quite ridiculous at times on days when a popular joke or meme is making the rounds.
So, I would like to request that the BBM dev team seriously investigate adding a "Block Broadcasts" option - ideally on a per-contact basis, but I would settle for an all-or-nothing solution as I'm willing to sacrifice the 1% of useful messages I get if it spares me the disruption of the other 99%. If my own contact list is anything to go by, I'm not the only one who would be hugely grateful for this to be implemented as swiftly as possible, or am I the only grinch in the building?

OUtlook was already set as the mail client for FF, and is my operating system (XP)'s default mail programme. therefore problem not solved at all. what I get whenever I follow a link in a webpage to send an e-mail is a little pop up window asking me to sign in to gmail or open an account. any other suggestions?

CS5's automatic update mechanism is broken, perhaps because it is no longer updated and can't cope with the newer ways of updating.
So this means you will have make a list of the updates that failed, go here: Product updates
and manually download/install from there.

My phone will randomly disconnect from the wifi and when I retype the password it says it is wrong. It will eventually work but I have to wait for a message to pop up on my screen to allow me to retype the wifi password.

When I first got my phone it worked perfectly fine with the wifi. Although later on I began to have problems connecting it. It will eventually work but in its own time, a message will pop up and allow me to type in the password and it will work. But sometimes it takes an hour or more and sometime it takes 10 minutes. I've seen where other people have had this problem but I don't know how to fix it. I'm not sure if it's an issue with my phone or if it's with my wifi. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Have you tried forgetting the Wi-Fi connection and then reconnecting to it?
What about power cycling the Wi-Fi router?

The Mail app on the iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch does have an option to clear previous recipients. You can learn to live with it. But if you want to get rid of it, the only way to remove these cached email addresses from the Mail application is restoring the iPhone/iPod Touch as a new phone/iPod. If you restore from backup, the cache is also restored.

Okay, I will have a window open with 4 tabs open. At first, everything is fine, but after a day or so, a message will pop up on screen saying "'''Exc in ev handl: Error: Bad NPObject as private data!'''" and after you close it out, the tab you were on will close and reopen in it's own window. Did you try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data doing a reset.
