Broadcast Name for HP Deskjet 3520 Eprinter

I am sure there was a way to do this on setup, but I missed it.  I would like to change the printer name that is broadcast for my HP.  I have an iMac with Mountain Lion installed.

Hi JK86,
I understand that you're wanting to change the name that's broadcasted for your printer.  I would follow the steps below.
 1. Open an internet browser type printer's IP address.
2. Should bring you to the printer's status page.
3. Select network tab at the top.
4.  On the Left hand side select Networking.
5.  Then Select  BonJour.
6.  Under Bonjour Service Name change the name to whatever you like then select apply.
Let me know how it goes.

  • IP Address for Wireless Deskjet 3520 All-in-One Printer

We recently got a new router.  Until that moment, our laptop and printer were working together flawlessly.  When the router was connected, the laptop made a correct connection, but the HP Deskjet 3520 printer will not.  I have completly deleted the printer and attempted to reinstall it several times with no luck.  I have worked with two HP techs who accessed my computer remotely (again with no luck).  The last one was able to determine the problem, but could not get it corrected.  So, I have even stumped their own techs and decided to try here. Here is my question:  How do I force my Deskjet 3520 to obtain a new IP address from a new router?  It seems to be assigning itself a different IP address of its own according to the HP techs who tried to correct it.   The laptop shows the correct IP address, but despite MANY varied attempts, the printer continues to show a different IP address and refuses to accept the new one.  We have restored defaults, deleted and reinstalled, and many other things.  HELP!

  • Can I print with a black cartridge only? HP Deskjet 3520

    Hi everyone,
I just bought a new black ink cartridge for my printer, assuming that I did not need to replace all the colors since I only want to print in black (shipping labels and such.)
Well, it only prints in a grayish shade now!  The ink levels on the colored cartridges are low, and the black ink is high and brand new.  So WHY can I not just print in plain old black?
    What am I doing wrong?
Thank you so much for your help!

  • Deskjet 3520 e-all in one printer not printing black ink

I just installed a new hp 564xl black ink cartridge with an expiration date of 01/30/2017. Low and behold the black  is not printing and the printer was purchased in 08/2012. I did everything that was suggested in the support forums and to no avail did anything work. The three other colors print out fine except the black. Based upon everyone's answers I guess there is no repair for it and I should scrap this unit after three years of constant use. I would think by now there would of been a solution posted to this problem but Hp has failed us. I've been using HP printer products since I purchased my first computer in 1992 and never had a problem with them until now.  My second printer which was purchased in 2004 is still going strong, except that it is not wireless. If I need to purchase a new wireless printer, I'm sorry to say that  I might have to look at the competition. If anyone knows of a solution I would appreciate it.

  • HP ePrint from excel add-in: Error while getting driver name for printer

Trying to use add-in for ePrint from excel/word I get, "error while getting driver name for printer \\...HP DesignJet 800PS 42 by HP," with an option to select "OK" and that same message repeats with each printer in our network, and then it doesn't allow me to print using the add-in. However, I can print normally to HP Go Web, open up Print and Share,  then print it from there. This happens with excel and word. I have Office Suite 2007.

    Hello modameister,
Sorry you are having issues with this printer and the ePrint add-on.  There are a couple of questions I would like you to answer please.
    1.  What operating system are you using? (XP,VISTA,7,MAC OS X)
    2.  What and how much data are you trying to print?
    3.  Have you tried to copy and paste the data into a different application or tried using the snip it tool?
    4.  Are you receiving any .dll errors (mscms.dll)
    Thanks

  • Hp deskjet 3520 print driver won't install

I bought an HP Deskjet 3520 printer today which was advertised as compatible with OSX 10.7, however when I go to add the printer I get the error "The software for this printer is currently unavailable. Please contact the printer’s manufacturer for the latest software."
I have the latest driver from HP, I just downloaded it today.
I deleted my old HP printer from Print & Scan in the System Preferences and uinstalled the old HP printer using the HP uninstall software.
When adding the printer it said there was an update available from Apple, which it downloaded but then gave the same software unavailable error.
I can scan with the printer but not print.
I also have a wireless HP Laser printer on my home network which is a couple of years old.

Have you tried selecting the software yourself rather than letting it add it for you? This usually helps.
    1) Go to Select Printer Software in the drop down menu.
    2) Type in the name and model of your printer: HP Deskjet 3520.

  • Deskjet 3520 on Mac 10.6.8 Spool Full error

Suddenly from no-where my working Deskjet 3520 suddenly stops printing, goes idle according to the print page, and subsequently tells me the 'spool is full'. Have tried this and other forums to find the probelm including removing and re-installing the printer and powering off the unit and on again. Now it won't even find the printer when i try to reinstall. Yay! The unit is also wired to my mac so I do not ahve a clue how to fix this. Coincidentally its almost out of toner in 2 cartridges but doubt this is linked as it's never done this before when cartridges run low........
Please can anyone help  asap. I have a real backlog of docs I REALLY need to print.
    Thanks

    Hi HFBW,
I can not say that I have an easy fix, or a document specific to this particular issue, I can however assure you that I am here to help and I do have some ideas.
Unplug the printer USB cable, and please use the instructions below to uninstall and clean up the Mac of HP software.
    Scrub
Open the Applications folder > HP or Hewlett Packard folder > HP Uninstaller
Click continue, click on one of the printers in the list.
Hold down Control, Option and Command
While holding the three buttons down, Click uninstall.
    Reset Printing System
Click the Apple icon (   ), and then clickSystem Preferences.
In the Hardware section, click  Print & Fax/Scan. The Print & Fax/Scan  dialog box opens.
Right-click (or  Ctrl  +click) in the left panel, and then click Reset printing system…
Click OK to confirm the reset.
Type the correct Name and Password.
Click OK to reset the printing system. The Print & Fax dialog box shows no printer selected
Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol.
    Repair Disk Permissions
On the Dock, click Applications, and then clickUtilities.
    Double-clickDisk Utility.
Highlight your hard drive/partition on the left (by default this is "Macintosh HD").
Click the Repair Disk Permissions  button at the bottom of the window.
Once the repair is complete, restart the computer.
    Restart the computer.
Last step > Connect the USB cable, download and install the HP Deskjet Full Feature Software and Drivers - Mac OS X 10.6, OS X 10.7, OS X 10.8.
This last step is assuming you have the Deskjet 3520 e-All-in-One Printer
If you have, the older deskjet 3520 (I don't think you do), you probably would not have found software on the computer to have 'scrubbed', but can reset the printing system and repair disk permissions and then use this driver > HP Print Driver for Mac OS X 10.6.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, thanks.

  • Deskjet 3520 keeps losing connection to Mac

Last night, I installed an HP Deskjet 3520 printer to use with my desktop Mac (which is using OS Yosemite).  I have an etsy shop where I sell prints of my illustrations, so I often have to print out multiple files in a row.  When I installed the driver last night, I was able to wirelessly print the test page, but after that, I could not print wirelessly.  Instead, I used the USB connection, which worked fine.  I printed a round of prints and everything worked fine.
This morning, I need to do some more printing, and my Mac reported that there was no connection to the printer (even though the printer was connected via USB).  I deleted the printer from my Systems Preferences Printers and re-added it, and I was finally able to do my printing (still not wirelessly).
Now, tonight, I have tried to do more printing and the Mac reports that there is no connection to the printer, USB or wireless.  I tried deleting from Systems Preferences and re-adding again, but that didn't work this time.  Then, I tried resetting the printing system, uninstalling HP, and re-installing the driver.  Now, I'm at the part of the installer where the device needs to be configured and I am receiving the message:
Device Not Reachable.  The wireless network settings were successfully downloaded to your device.  However, your Mac was unable to locate the device on the network.
I don't know what keeps going wrong!  The little screen on my printer says it is connected to my wireless network AND I am still connected via USB so I don't know how the device would not be reachable.  I also don't know why the printer would keep losing connection with the computer every time I need to start printing again.  Please help!!

    Hi @tylertot
    This is in deed a little strange, but I'd like to help! Some of the steps I am going to offer are steps you have done, but I;d like to perform the following steps in the order presented to see what happens. Please give the following a try;
Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable, also unplug the USB cable. Restart teh Mac and then plug the printer power cable back in. You can also go ahead and reconnect the USB cable.
Reset Printing System  - (I know you did this already, thus you know how, but here are the steps for others who may view this thread)
Click the Apple icon (   ), and then click System Preferences.
Repair Disk Permissions  - I don't see that you have tried this yet, and this step might be crucial to resolving the issue.
On the Dock, click Applications, and then click Utilities.
    Double-click Disk Utility.
Highlight your hard drive/partition on the left (by default this is "Macintosh HD").
Click the Repair Disk Permissions button at the bottom of the window.
Once the repair is complete, restart the computer and add the printer back.
When you add the printer, please ensure you are using the HP driver. You can add the wireless or the USB, or Both. If you ad both, I suggest adding a name to identify one connection from the other.
Select Add other Printer or Scanner
Select the printer you are adding and next to 'Use' you can the printer driver
You can see in the image above where the name section is, if you add both connection types simply add USB to the beginning of one of the names.
Adding both printers and naming them to help identify them helps when it comes time to print. When you print something you can choose the printer with the appropriate connection type. For example, you can choose the wireless driver ad if you get an offline message try printing again but choose the USB driver. If the USB one works you will know the issue is related to the Wireless connection, and if it doesn;t then the issue is related tot he operating system.  Really this is just a proactive troubleshooting attempt in case issue arise in the near future. If you only want to add one connection type that is okay too.
I look forward to hearing from you.

  • Printer Deskjet 3520

I have an old Deskjet 3520 that I used to print from my Ipad since I had my other printer connected via USB. I also used it with my computer. Recently I installed a new Officejetpro 6830 printer and also changed my internet modem. I have no problem with 6830 and I can still print from my Ipad to the 3520 printer but when I try to use it from my computer (Windows 7 64 bit) I keep receiving the following message "error initializing output device". I reintalled the 3520 and the most recent driver.

Afternoon , I would be very happy to help you with the error message you are receiving.
In my research, everything I came across for this error was indicating the software through which the print job is being printed may be causing the problem. What program were you trying to print from?Have you tried a different program?
If it is just one program in particular, I would contact support for that program.
Have you made sure your computer has all of it's windows updates? How can I tell if my computer is up to date?** After updating make sure to resart the computer one more time to be sure Try the Print and Scan Doctor:HP provides a free tool called HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and resolve printing problems. I recommend downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor, if it doesn't fix it automatically let me know what errors or messages you receive.
Before you reinstalled your printer software, did you uninstall the prior version? When you were uninstalling the printer software, it is possible that pieces of it may still remain that could interfere with a reinstall. I recommend referencing the steps in this document to make sure you haven't missed anything; HP Single-Function and Multifunction Printers - Uninstalling the Printer Software. You may also want to Delete files using Disk Cleanup - when it gives you selection boxes, I would check all of them. Other places software drivers may hide would be in your Device Manager.  To Open the Device Manager:
    1) Click Start (Or Windows Icon) and enter 'Device Manager' into the Search field.
    2) Click on the Device Manager.
    3) You may want to click on View, at the top of the windows, and then Show hidden devices.
    4) Expand the device types, and check for any driver related to your printer.
    5) To remove a device from device manager, right-click the device name from the list and then click Uninstall. * For more information see Device Manager Information for Windows 7. Then reinstall your software again.
