Broadcast to Email inconsistency

HI All
I am facing a problem whem i am trying to broadcast as  emial a WEB Template from Portal , as i am getting some content only
not the entire, example i have a heading which is missing in th PDF which i am trying to broadcast as email, where as logo and table(Analysis item) are present, so is there a way where in i can control or know to send only specific info into PDF and email to users?
Regards
VK

Broadcast is effectively doing an export. Not all the information is converted to PDF when doing an export. Only certain Web Items are exported. So if you have created a text heading without using a web item, then it will not show in the exported / broadcast PDF. But if you created the heading using a text item it would.
You can easily figure out what the broadcast PDF will look like by testing with the export command. Look up help for export command to see what web items are converted to PDF.

  • Set the broadcaster to email out on work days instead of daily

    Hi Friends,
    Any one can help me to set the BEX broadcaster to email out on work days instead of daily?
    Regards
    Vishwanath

    Hi Viswa and Pravender
    I have a similar issue here:
    I'm working on BW3.5 module and I'm trying to scheule a report in BEX broadcaster with a predefined time. Eg: Every Wed day after Fisc quarter ends. I created a job with name TP_BROADCASTING_**** and included the ABAP program in step :RSRD_BROADCAST_FOR_TIMEPOINT.
    Now In the start condition I selected start date as wed day after fisc qtr close and put the period value as every 3 months and restriction in cal Id as factory calendar.
    Now I have two questions...How can I select just wed nesday after the fisc quarter close ? Is there a std SAP exit variable exist for this ? Or do I need to create one and write ABAP code in Exit ? I tried with Event and other ways but its not showing in scheduler...
    Second one is I logged in to Broadcaster and created new setting for query and filled all recipents etc...now When I tried to schedule this I can not see my Quarterly pre defined time here...But if I change this time to some other calender time period I can see that in scheduler...
    Is there any other way of scheduling the reports at a specific time period ?thanks inadvance

    Does anyone have any links to useful white paper(s), step by step guide, general info etc on  broadcasting by email (bursting)?

  • Broadcasting By Email

    Hi All,
    I would like to clarify regarding broadcasting query via e-mail.
    Is it a prerequisite to set up a precalculation server prior to use this feature ?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    To Broadcast workbook,you need a Precalculation Server,but to Broadcast Query,Web Template or Reports you no need to use Precalculation Server.
    If you want to Broadcast a workbook and send it to users' e-mail everyday,then you can go for Precalculation of workbooks with Broadcast to Email options and use of Scheduling.
    You can refer this help doc.

  • How to convert a workbook into PDF and broadcast as Email attachment

    Hello Gurus,
    i have installed the ADS (Adobe Document services). I would like to broadcast workbooks as a pdf file to some user.
    When i open the workbook and go to Broadcast --> Setup a broadcast setting for this workbook. The distribution type is
    Broadcast E-mail; Broadcast E-mail (Bursting); Broadcast Portal; Broadcast Multichannel and Output Format only MS Workbook and Link to current Data. Here i miss the possibility as PDF.
    Where can i set up that the workbook should be broadcast as PDF.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks and kind rgerads,
    Murat

    Thanks all for your answers,
    i also read that with changing the format in Report designer then broadcasting via PDF. Is there no possibility for PDFs for MS Excel Workbooks? How does it work when opening the query in Report designer? What do i have to do there but it is no solution for us because in the workbooks we use GET BEX DATA formulas and just show parts of the analyisis grid. I need a proper solution how to use broadcaster converting workbooks into PDF an send them as email attachment
    Thanks,
    Murat

  • Broadcasting by Email - Footer removal - BW 3.5

    Hello, I am working on BW3.5. I am distributing Open Invoices reminders to customers via BEx Broadcasting.
    The layout of the mail contains a footer saying:
    A broadcast administrator or the person sending this e-mail can change the
    recipient list using the following link: (link follows)
    As explained in previous posts, it seems that there is no setting to remove this.
    These same posts suggest a chenge in the class/method
    CL_RSRD_DISTRIBUTOR_MAIL=>ADD_FOOTER
    (see Information Broadcasting: Email Reports
    and Information Broadcasting E-Mail - Remove Link to Settings )
    I tried this but the footer keeps appearing in the sent mails.
    Now, I have figured out that the program sending the mail based on the broadcast setting is RSRD_BROADCAST_PROCESSOR
    I tried debuggin this (by catching the program in SM50) but I have not been successful in finding the exact place where the header is added.
    Can someone help me figure out this ?
    Points will follow

    Answer found.
    CL_RSRD_DISTRIBUTOR_MAIL=>ADD_FOOTER is not called by the BEx Broadcaster RSRD_BROADCAST_PROCESSOR.
    The program calls the class CL_RSRD_PRODUCER_RA and the method
    ADAPT_HTML_FOR_MHTML_MAIL.
    Within this method a section of code adds the footer.

  • HOW TO: Broadcasting the email with the different schedule?

    Hello all,
    first time to post to the forum, please help with the following question.
    We have a requirement to broadcast a query view only every Wednesday morning and also data loading is completed successfully (data is loaded every day). we are running BI 7.
    What I have done is ,
    I have added a step in the data loading process chain to include the program RSRD_BROADCST_STARTER and set event ID - WWED(the event ID is defined in the batch job - TP_BROADCASTING_WWED in SM37, which runs once per week every Wednesday). In the query view broadcasting setup , I select the predefined time as well - weekly -every Wednesday.
    But the testing result is not what I expect to see. After data loading is completed each time, the broadcasting email is sent as well in a daily basis not every Wednesday.
    Can you please give me some advice? thanks in advance,
    Regards
    JIA

    I have found the solution to add a decision node in the process chain only if it is Wednesday , broadcasting will run .

  • Information Broadcasting direct email delivery of CSV files?

    Hello,
    Is there any way to configure Information Broadcasting in BW 3.5/Netweaver 04 such that email delivery of CSV files is possible?  I see that the pre-calculation server will generate workbooks.  Though, we really need delivery direct to CSV.
    Alternatively, has any one come up with a process of delivering Bex web links with a template that can generate CSV?  I saw this second option come up in a previous topic, but I am not sure how this would work.
    Regards,
    Joel

    Hello,
    Sorry I did not see your question until today.  It seems that you posted right before I went on vacation. ƒº  To answer your questions
    To Broadcast a Template for CSV extract only
    1)     Create a new template
    2)     Add a table
    3)     Set the new table as HIDDEN
    4)     Add Button or In-line command

              var suppress_repeating_texts = getIsSupressingRepeatingTexts(TABLE_NAME);

         //Exports a table to a CSV file and force repeating texts on.
         function exportToCSV()
              var suppress_repeating_texts = ' ';
              exportToFile('CSV', suppress_repeating_texts);
         //Exports a table to a file
         function exportToFile(fileFormat, suppress_repeating_texts)
              SAPBWOpenURL(SAP_BW_URL_Get() +
                   '&CMD=EXPORT' +
                   '&FORMAT=' + fileFormat +
                   '&DATA_PROVIDER=DP1' +
                   '&SUPPRESS_REPETITION_TEXTS=' +

    I hope this helps.

  • Broadcast to Email

    Hi,
    I know that configuration must be done through SCOT to activate the SMTP in order to send outbound email to internet address.
    I have gotten some information that the concept is the job created will send out all emails that are in the queue (SOST).
    Is it possible if I want only email from specific users that will be sent out and not emails created from all users ?
    I am in the midst of trying to use the Information Broadcasting feature to automatically send out reports to email periodically.
    Thanks.

    Hi Alex,
    Correct me if I am wrong.
    In the broadcast setting, I can configure the email address, let's say send to me only. However, still the email sent out from here will be queued in SOST first, right ? Then, together with email created by other users in SAP will be sent out at the same time by job created through SCOT.
    Thanks.

  • Broadcasting - skip email if nodata

    Hello everybody,
    I have some broadcast schedules which broadcast reports by email to users based on their responsibilities. It's an exception report so we don't want to send an email if there's no data.
    Is there a setting for this?
    Regards
    Nev

    Hi,
    If you are broadcasting a query there is a Broadcast according to exceptions distribution type.
    I have not used this so do not know if it will meet your requirements but worth a look if
    you have not already done so.

  • Broadcasting Recipient email related variable

    Hi,
    Requirement:
    For each sales person send weekly report using broadcasting.
    - Problem:
    When we select Email into broadcasting for particular sales person..In variable selection of broadcasting also select this sales person. How to automated this process in broadcasting..
    Exa:
    Sales person email: abcatemail.com- in report sales person variable automatic filled with abc value.
    I search SDN, but could not find right answer.
    Please, share your experience.
    Thanks,
    Chandresh Patel

    Hi Patel,
    You can create a setting for the report in BEx broadcaster and give the recipient name there so that it can be sent to that person. This can be scheduled. Or else try using the program RSRD_BROADCAST_STARTER for sending the report as a mail. You can use the BEx broadcaster setting technical name in the program as a variant and create a process chain to schedule on weekly basis.
    Regards
    Vijay
