Broadcast with Proxy.Pac define into the network Configuration

netbios is activate on desktop,
when a proxy.pac is define, a lot of broadcast are generated by a lot of internet site : google.com/bing.com/yahoo.com
this doesn't happen is i defini the proxy server directly in the firefox configuration (no proxy.pac)
i've tested with a minimalist proxy.pac (just return the proxy server => same problem) thanks you

You shouldn't have to deal with any such configuration files. Pull down the AirPort menu bar item. In the resulting list you should see the "admin network". Select that, then enter the supplied password. If that doesn't work, check and report exactly what happened.

Zenworks unable to log into the network

We have a Zenworks Configuration Management 11.2.2 environment with Active Directory authentication. The User source was pointing at a particular Domain controller with SSL authentication and working just fine. Today, the Domain Controller went down and I had to change it to another DC. I updated the certificate for the new DC and switched to it with no problems in the Zenworks Console. Now when users are logging into PCs with the agent installed it will generate an error and not authenticate to Zenworks. You are able to hit 'cancel' and login to the computer. If you try to manually login to the agent it will generate the following error:
"zenworks unable to log into the network because the login credentials or the server certificate is incorrect"
In the console, I am able to verify the User Source connection is correct and communicating properly. I have turned SSL on/off, switched the DC server back to the original authenticating server, and rebooted all the servers but I still get this error even on the Zenworks server themselves. I'm not sure what else to check. I found a thread with a similar issue but there resolution was to blow away the server and start from scratch. That is not a viable option for me as this system is fully set up and in production.
Any insight would greatly be appreciated.

I would start by testing LDAP Connectivity to the new server using a
native LDAP Toool. (Caution - Some MS LDAP Tools may not even use LDAP
but Use Std Windows Networking.)

The iMac picks up a wireless signal from the back of the screen, so you would want to avoid having it close to a wall, or in a confined area where the wireless signal cannot easily reach the iMac's antenna.
We don't know how far the iMac is from your wireless router, or how many walls or other obstructions might be in the signal path that would limit the quality of signal that the iMac receives.
Nor do we know whether you might have a cordless phone near the iMac, or whether you may be using a wireless keyboard and/or mouse....all of which can interfere with the wireless signal.
Can you provide some more info on this?

Internet connection error saying a cable is not plugged into the network adaptor

HP Pavilion Media Center m8530f Desktop PC recently my hard drive quit working so I installed new hard drive same brand Seagate just bigger storage had to install using my original recover discs that I created when I bought computer in 2008 from HP refurb it is still all original no upgrades and when finish could not connect to internet, get message a cable is not plugged into the network adapter "Local Area Connection", I have checked cable it is plugged into adapter I plugged cable into my laptop and it recognises it immediatly, I uninstalled network adapter and went to HP and downloaded adapter for my computer spec on to falsh drive and reinstalled on computer still same message, under devce manger adapter shows up and has no warning symbols when i run check on adapter it says it is fine.

10.6.8 Unable to log into the network after update

Just installed the latest updates for my snow leopard server and it will not accept my network login. I have quadruple checked the credentials and then some but it appears to accept the username and pass, displays the user avatar and then the dialogue box shakes displaying the error message:
"Logging into the account failed because an error ocurred"
It's not a very descriptive message but I checked online for some help but couldn't find much. This issue specifically happened after the latest server updates. I know I could use time machine and fix it, I fixed it before that way, but I would like to find a resolution for this issue if there is one.
Any help would be much appreciated.

After contacting Apple support I was told to rebind the machine to the server which did work initially. I was able to log in with my network login but when i shut down the machine later and tried to boot up and log back in, i was presented with the same error.
I attempted the same resolution and rebinded the machine but this time it didn't work. I tried multiple times but have had no success.

Can I use a USB Lead to connect PC with my Printer instead of the network connection?

I have recently moved my BT home Hub (wireless modem) from my study where it sat beside my printer, into the living room downstairs. So that it’s A, nearest to the BT access point (less loss) and B, it can connect directly to my TV, Blu-ray & BT Vision box. I have used a pair of Powerline adaptors to connect the home hub back to my HP PC and it’s all working very well with a faster broadband speed reaching my PC.
The only problem I now have is with my printer, which connects wirelessly to the home hub.
The printer is now right on the edge of the wireless range and really struggles to make a connection, sometimes failing altogether. The printer takes a long while to start up and sometimes fails to collect all of the data.
My real question is:
Can I simply connect my PC to the printer using a USB cable (USB A to USB B) and if I do, do I need to make any other changes to the way my PC connects with the printer?

No problem. Here's the link for the download for your operating system. Click Here When I sent my first post, I wasn't sure which operating system you were using.
Here's something you might try first before you do the download. You can leave the current drivers installed ( might come in handy if you decide to reconnect to the network ). Click on your Start button, and then select All Programs. Scroll down to the HP folder and open it. Then open the folder for the Photosmart 6510. Select Printer Setup and Software. You can go through the installation process as you did before, but this time you will choose usb connection.

Saving a .pdf file into the network shared drive from Outlook 2013

Hello sirs,
I have one client that having the file saving issue into the shared drive from outlook 2013.
I have isolated the network portion and confirmed that there is nothing to do with the network. They have 1 host server which has 2 VMs inside (DC & FS). Whenever they want to save .pdf file into the shared drive, "Saving" message box popped up and showed for about 1 min to complete the file saving. I have tested with .xlsx & .dcsx but no error saving those files. only for this particular extension that facing this slowness problem. It has been on going for a month already and I couldn't figure it out what could be the issue.
Please if anyone experienced this issue, I would really appreciate your suggestions & guidance.

I am having problems signing into the network at my school. The PC laptops work but Macs show the fact that the network is being upgraded but the district office insists it isn't.

I can connect to the guest network on my Mac but when I open Firefox, the main authentication page where I type in the user name and password states that the network is being upgraded and will not be available for use. The main district office technician says the network should be fine and can connect with his windows laptop just fine. Are there some things i need to change in the Firefox preferences that would fix this problem for my Mac?

A PC can have more issues connecting than a Mac.
But it really should not matter.. so just try it in situ.. press and hold the reset.. once it starts up, it will return to default IP, 10.0.1.1 the PC should then be able to find it via the airport utility.
If not drag it over to the Mac and plug in there by ethernet.. or since it is a laptop, really should not be that difficult to drag the Laptop and plug it into the TC.
Important thing is to get access to the TC.
The Mac if it is running lion, then you MUST download and install 5.6 airport utility to do anything useful.

A network account take a long tme to be loged into the network

I still have the same problem but I got a new information:
I have a Mac Pro OS X 10.6.2 Server with several network accounts.
My boss does not want to use Mobility (from Workgroup manager -> Preferences)
I also have 6 iMacs 10.6.2 and about 9 users, in my group.
All of the users have an account on the server.
I also have a model called Master, from which I create a clone with CCC (Carbon Copy Cloner) and I installed all iMac with that clone.
Apparentely somme users are complaining that it take a while to log in to the server.
But it does not happen often.
Today some one reported me that it happens when some one has be loged with the iMac and another user came to the same iMac in order to be loged. At this time it take a while.
One of the user, told me, he always restart the iMac when he use the iMac after someone else.
From my Mister, I tried to be logged with different user, but I could not reproduce the problem.
Some one can help me to find the reason while, it take a while to be log into the server?

Using a Wify-to-LAN bridge to wire my time capsule into the network

Hi,
I have a time capsule as the core of my small private network, and I'm moving into a building which has a centralized internet connection which only has WiFi support, not a chance to get a wired connection.
I do want my time capsule to connect to the network so I can connect all my other devices to it. I have searched and read a lot about it and the conlcusion is that the time capsule will not connect to the wifi network and act as a router/network hub at the same time. Additionally I have several devices that can only be connected through an ethernet phsyical connection, for which I want to use the time capsule.

I have no idea whether this will work.
However, if you configure an AirPort Express to "join" the Wi-Fi network, you can then connect an Ethernet cable from the AirPort Express to the Time Capsule and configure the Time Capsule as a normal router to set up your own private network for wired and wireless devices.
In effect, the Airport Express acts as a "modem" for your network in this type of setup, even though the terminology is not exactly correct.

IMac 6 issuing IP address's when plugged into the network.

I have an iMac 6 that I have on a Business Network, when I plug in the network cable it starts issuing IP address's which is creating havoc. I have disabled Internet sharing.

Presumably you are using DHCP on your iPad and router to allocate local network IP addresses?
If so then your router has not given your iPad a valid IP address when the iPad requested it.
Sometimes the fix can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power to it for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPad (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), MAC address filtering being used, etc.

Watched folder issue with Distiller 9.0 and the Network

We found that the Distiller watched folders "In" and "Out" creates automatically to some other folders on the network. This is happened only when missing folders occurs in Distiller when network disconnects.
We just wanted to know how to avoid of creating "In" and "Out" folder automatically when setting up watched folder in Distiller. We have to create the same folders manually in the watched folders assigned directory.
I need to disable the option "In" and "Out" created automatically through watched folder to the assigned folder.
For e.g. if I assigned the watched folders to the particular directory on the network, the distiller should not create these two folders automatically, I have to create the same folders ("In" and "Out") on the particular directory before assigning the watched folder.
Is this work well? Please help me out to solve this issue.

If as the OP says; They have no issue doing so with PC versions of Acrobat why would there be a Licensing Issue on the Mac Version?
So long as each has their own copy of Distiller /Acrobat.
Also, Why is there not site licenses or seat licenses for Acrobat?
(Other products such as MS Office has such for all their products, and other companies do as well, Even Adobe has such for other products)
For the OP:
What type Network do you use? each of the Macs should most likely be setup to use the same Network as the PC if possibly.
Is it possibly to link to the hot folder on the PC side (since once created from PC it doesn't disappear). As I understand it only in OSX.5.8 and X.6 support for PC networks are the most reliable.
