Broadcasting a report through bex Broadcaster

Hi Guys,
i want to broadcast a report through Email by Bex Broadcaster so that each receiver should get the report filtered for the characterstic values he is authorized to . Can some one tell me what settingd I need to make in Broadcasting wizard.

Hi all,
I am trying to send one Bex report as emal to my emil ( Changed because of forum guidelines) id for testing purpose in HTML format.
But it is giving some error when I checked in the error log it is giving following error :-

Send PDF through BEx Broadcasting in BI - Urgent

Hi,
I want to send PDF File through BEx broadcasting in BI,but i am unable to see that option in Output format.
Do i need to enable any services like adobe etc.

How many e-mails can i send through Bex Broadcaster?

Dear Experts
I would like to know to how many e-mail address i can send a query through "broadcast e-mail" function with BEx Broadcaster. In other words, what's the maximum number allowed of recipients?
I'm using BI version 7.0.

2. Does Syncing multiple devices mean that all devices and my iTunes will always
have the same content? i.e., If I download a few songs to an iPhone and then sync with iTunes, will itunes then sync that new content to any other devices that I sync with my copy of iTunes, therefore all devices will always attempt to have the same content?
Depends. If all devices are set for automatic synchronization and they all have sufficient capacity to hold your entire iTunes library, then all devices will have identical content and will continue to do so whenever you add new content. If you're using manual synchronization and/or your entire library won't fit on one or more of the devices, then of course whether or not the devices have identical content will depend on you.
3. How does this affect store purchases? Can I sync multiple devices to the same copy of iTunes and how many times can I sync the purchased iTunes store content to devices? I know it's 5 computers, but what about devices?

4. Lastly, can a device such as an iPhone be synced to more than 1 computer/iTunes? Can I sync my iPhone to my own copy of iTunes and then sync again to someone elses and will this then sync new content to all associated computers and synced devices on those computers? Again, what about purchased content in such a scenario?
Unless things have changed, an iPhone can only be synched to a single copy of iTunes. iPods other than the shuffle can be synched to multiple systems by setting to manual sync.

Problem in Scheduling the report in Bex Broadcaster

Hello friends,
I am trying to Schedule a report to be broadcasted daily to users through mail. When I directly execute the setting, the mail delivers fine but when I try to schedule the report by direct scheduling at some time point it doesnt work and mail is not broadcasted. Can some tell me where I am missing or is there any other setting required .

Check the scheduling date and time , by default the scheduling date will be the next day in the broadcaster settings..

Varible Through BEx Broadcast

Hi,
I have a doubt, if i will Broadcast a Query, Query has many input variables, from BEx Query Designer then in this case, will it send Query variables, what data it will send and which basis it will do filtration of data in query for broadcasting.
For Example in my query i have 2 manual input variable country and Year, both are mandatory,in that case if i have scheduled the broadcasting by email.What output of query user will receive,like it will show for all country and year or for some specific value.
How it will work?

Hi Ravi,
There are two options to this,
1) Either you can have default population of values using customer exit variable for the mandatory input variables (Customer Exit variable with User Input enabled). So when you will broadcast this query will take default value for these variables.
2) In the broadcast setting on the Filter tab there is link for variable population, you will have to populate some values for this mandatory variables before you schedule your reports, otherwise I guess it will give you error or it might not give you any data.

Date interval should be there in name of the report through Bex

I have a requirement in which customer wants to see the date interval with the name of the report which they are using in selection screen.

You can achive the same by using the Text variable in the description of the report .This variable will take the input from other variable whose value is entere by the user in the selection screen

Portal runtime error while executing BI report through BEx Query designer

I want to execute a query from query designer but when I execute it the following error occurs -
Portal runtime error.
An exception occurred while processing your request. Send the exception ID to your portal administrator.
Exception ID: 04:30_30/04/11_0008_35740651
Refer to the log file for details about this exception.
I have checked log, the error displayig in log is,
ACCESS ERROR: Authorization check for caller assignment to J2EE security role SAP_J2EE_Engine:administrator

How to include Distribution list in Bex Broadcaster

Hi experts,
Can anyone tell me how to include distribution list in bex broadcaster?
We have created a distribution list which we use in SBWP tcode for sending reports through mail.
I want to try broadcasting reports through Bex query designer and scheduling weekly. Although bex broadcaster
provides us the facility to enter the email ids of user but it is very tedious to type all the ids. Can i incorporate
the distribution list, which we have already created, in broadcaster?

Bex Broadcasting Help!!!

I'm trying to scheule a report in BEX broadcaster with a predefined time. Eg: Every Wed day after Fisc quarter ends. I created a job with name TP_BROADCASTING_**** and included the ABAP program in step :RSRD_BROADCAST_FOR_TIMEPOINT.
Now In the start condition I selected start date as wed day after fisc qtr close and put the period value as every 3 months and restriction in cal Id as factory calendar.
First one is : I logged in to Broadcaster and created new setting for query and filled all recipents etc...now When I tried to schedule , I can not see my Quarterly pre defined time here...I could see all other pre defined though... Do I need to include this job i created in Process chains ?
Second one:...How can I select just wed nesday after the fisc quarter close ? Is there a std SAP exit variable exist for this ? Or do I need to create one and write ABAP code in Exit ?
Please advice ...

We have same problem after upgrade to BI7. SAP responded to our OSS note indicating Timepoints using factory calendar restrictions are no longer supported -- as a result, they do not show them from Broadcaster setting-schedule context menu. They stated we need to come up with our own workaround. Here's one approach from another thread, but something has to be added to look at the factory calendar:

Solved this on my own.
First create and save a broadcast setting for the query to be broadcast.
Next, create a variant for program RSRD_BROADCAST_STARTER with the technical name of the broadcasting setting that you created earlier in the selection options for field SettingID. Leave the rest of the fields blank.
After creating the variant, create a process chain where the start process is scheduled after the desired event. Add an ABAP program process to the chain. Specifiy program RSRD_BROADCAST_STARTER as the ABAP program using the variant you created earlier.
Now you can activate and schedule your process chain. When the specified system event and parameter are triggered, the broadcast will run.

Publishing Query's to Bex Broadcaster

Hi,
I have created a query and using the below path i am publishing the query to broadcaster,
Query Menu -> Publish -> Bex Broadcaster,
It prompts me for login but after providing my login details it shows me a blank page. Neither it prompts me for selection screen and nor it displays any output.
Any idea experts why its happening.

looks like there is no standard or customized web templates setup.Goto RSCUSTV21 and add for the entries AdHoc Analysis-0ANALYSIS_PATTERN,
Broadcasting- 0BROADCASTING_TEMPLATE70 and Query Precalculation- 0Query_Template_Broadcasting70 and save the entries.Also make sure you have activated them from business content.Let us know if you need further help.I assume you are in 7.0 version.This standard templates vary for the 3.5 version.

Start by trashing your preferences. Use Preference Manger from Digital Rebellion.

BEx Broadcasting through e-mail

Dear Gurus,
I have a situation where, we are supposed to broadcast reports every month to the users e-mail.
Report has to be broadcasted to different users with different Cost Centers .
I have 3 selections for the report of which 2 selections are populated through CMOD and one is user i/p.
We dnt have EP so this has to be done through BEX .

I also face same situation in my past project, We can broadcast BEx Report to user.
1. Inform Basis team to includ yours and User's Mail ID in their there BW ID using SU01
2. Then tell Basis to do necessory configuration to Broadcast report using SICF and SCOT transaction.

Issues in BEx Broadcasting through email

Dear Experts,
I am currently facing a very weird issue while broadcasting BEx reports. What i have noticed is that it is not possible to schedule the same report with two different settings at the exactly same time.
Suppose the Bex report name is DEMO_QUERY. Now i want to schedule it with two different technical settings for different selections but at the same time, say 8:00:01 AM. When i schedule the report, i get no errors. But at the time of execution, only one them is broadcasted and the other fails with the following generic error.
Java system error: Exception in method processFunction.
Message no. RSBOLAP018
Now this error has been widely discussed on SCN but none of them fits my scenario. The resolution provided in many threads points to running a diagnostic tool on the portal. I have even checked the number of processes allocated to BROADCAST and so on.
But if i space the two settings by say one minute or so, i get both the broadcasts. So i want to learn that is there a technical w.r.t BEx broadcaster which prevents it from broadcasting same report at same time with two different settings.

Hi Michael,
The current setting is 3,default i guess. But there are many other BEx queries which are scheduled at the same time. Problem is only encountered when the same BEx query is scheduled with multiple broadcast settings to run at the same time. If it was an issue with Java server then shouldn't it be affecting other reports also which are scheduled at the same time.
