Broadcasting a report

Dear all,
I have a report that is set to broadcast daily to a set of users through email.
The requirement now is that the same report must be saved onto the citrix server (refreshed report to be saved in a given location on citrix) in CSV format for a group of users to access. This data will be further modified by them for further analysis.
Alternatively, Is there an option to move the file from application server onto Citrix with the help of Unix script.
Is there any other work around to meet this reqt.
How do we achieve this.

How to Broadcast BI Reports in the latest version of MS Excel

Dear Friends
I am broadcasting BI reports to our field team, and many of them are using mobile phones. But they are not able to view these reports in their mobile.
I am broadcasting it as Excel and it is going in the format .xls. We have other BI tools where they could open the reports which are in .xlsx.
That's why I doubt that our reports are not getting opened because we are sending in a older format of excel.
Please let me know if there is any option to send reports in the latest version of MS Excel (.xlsx)

I agree with Michael Devine . You have to setup Pre-calculation server to broadcast with .XLSX format.
Did you try with other output formats in broadcast definition? Also check your Users mobiles excel compatibility with .xls format?

Lock Problem while Broadcasting multiple reports using process chains

Hi All,
I am trying to broadcast 10 reports using the process chains using the program for RSRD_START and variants created in the Broadcaster..the Program jobs start fine.But I am facing the error that the RSRA_CA_LOG table is getting locked while trying to broadcast the Reports..Can any help me on how to run the jobs without the locking problem..Suggestions please.

I am trying to broadcast the Reports from the the Bex Analyer and getting this ock error and not the workbooks.
I am also trying to Broadcast the Workbooks also, but could not find the options to Broadcast them. we are in SAP -BW3.5 SP 12, Is it possible to broadcast the workbooks in this Patch level..or do we need to upgrade to achieve this.If so...can any one provide me the proceedure to Broadcast the Workbooks.

Layout problem with broadcasted BW report

Hi all,
a broadcasted BW report laying under /documents/Public Documents/TestReport looks good when opening the index.htm there... also the layout.
Then I took an iView based on 'KM Document iView' (com.sap.km.cm.docs) and copied the path '/documents/Public%20Documents/TestReport/index.htm' into the property 'Path to Document'.
A preview of this page shows the data but the layout of this page is missing.
Viewing the source of this htm page shows the following stylesheet entry:
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="./StaticMimes/com.sap.portal.design.urdesigndata/themes/portal/fwtheme/ur/ur_ie6.css">
So opening the index.htm in an iView can't find this stylesheet.
Have somebody an idea what to do? Do I have to configure something else?
We use NW2004s SP10. The report was made with the BEx Broadcaster Wizard.

The IE 6.0 which I use can handle .mht files. So the .mht link opened in the KM Content works:

But why does this link works but not the preview in portal content area?
I have to correct myself... I found out these effects trying to deposit different paths in the iView property:
- path: /documents/Public%20Documents/TestReport2.mht
--> the preview shows the source code of the .htm in the browser. Saving this source code to a new .mht file and testing it locally works fine!!!
- path: /entrypoints/Public%20Documents/TestReport2.mht
--> here the browser wants to know which programm the .htm file shall be opened. After choosing IE the source code was shown also like above.
Therfore there is the same behavior after assigning the iView to a role.

Broadcasting Bex Report via email

Hi
I just want to know how can we broadcast Bex report from EP Portal to Email.
When I execute a Bex report, upon rt click I get to see Broadcast and Export Option.
Can anybody explains me in detail how can we broadcast a Bex Query via email.
Please explain me in detail how we make setting at Portal End, in BI.
Is standard templates say 0analy.. is something to do with all these. like if I want to add a new feature in the Broadcast and Export setting say Export to Excel 2000.

Broadcasting of reports to KM folders...

Dear All,
We need to broadcast the BI reports to KM folders in Portal. We are using Netweaver 2004s (EP 7.0 SP12, BI 7.0)
Is it possible to broadcast the reports to some other user's KM folders than his own folder ? Please, shade some light regarding the same.
Can we personalise the folders in order to be displayed by default.
How to set the broadcasting notification email whenever user broadcast his report.
Also, can we give permission to a user to set the permissions of other user;'s folder.
Please provide any url links/documents for the same. Any help in this regards would be highly appreciated.

CRM_UI pointing to wrong port while broadcasting any report

Dears,
Our BI team is facing one starnge issue in CRM_UI.
Earlier we were using port 50001 to access CRM_UI but now we changed it port to 443XX.
So I CRM_UI is working fine and we are able to see BI report on it but when we click on send it takes us (Bex Broadcaster) to URL that containd same old port so I think I need to make some change in any parameter to make it to point to right URL.
Please suggest how can we do these settings.

I've created the running total, and tested it again, however, the issue still remained.
The regional options for date are set to be dd/mm/yyyy
I created a formula to evaluate referingDate <= @PeriodEnd, and put it next to the referingDate filed, in the Detail section. All dates should be <= @periodEnd, however, running from the application I got the following results
for example, @periodEnd is 01/07/2008 (dd/mm/yyyy)
01/02/2008 True
01/11/2007 True
03/04/2008 False
which looks like that it's using the format mm/dd/yyyy.
Running from Crystal it shows True for all the dates, which is right.
Is there any chances for the application to get a different date configuration???

Cannot Attach PDF documents when broadcasting a report in BI.

When Attaching PDF file in broadcasting reports via bex i'm getting an error . This happens only with PDF files and I can successfully attach other file such as HTML,ms xls. Please find the error details under /usr/sap/BIP/DVEBMGS00/j2ee/cluster/server0/log. This happens after upgrade the system from 703 to 705.

It is a memory or buffer related problem. Contact your BASIS.
Looks like there is a shortage of space. Analyse the dump in ST22 and look for its proposals.
OSS note 965351 might be applicable (if you are on 640/ unix).

Broadcasting Error Reports

Hello Gurus,
We have few reports which get broadcasted on a weekly basis. The error reports are on the ODS objects and broadcasting was happening fine till last week. The automation is made using the Process chains where we are using the ABAP program RSRD_BROADCAST_STARTER and the respective reports are the variant for each process type. Today the process chain failed at one of the process types with an error as "No log found(in main memory)". The failed step is in the last. I have few questions related to this:
a. If the failed step of the process chain is in the last, then can I have the remaining successful steps getting broadcasted as they went green in process chain
b. As I did not get any reports broadcasted, now how do I send the reports to the users as of now for this week
c. If I try to execute the RSRD_BROADCAST_STARTER and give the variant as the report in SE38 manually, will it broadcast the queries(as the settings are already defined).
Please clarify.

Ideally, as the other process chain steps have completed succesffully, those would have broadcasted. However,If you could see the SOST monitor, you can get an idea of what reports have been broadcasted and to whom and when.
Yes, you can run the report in SE38 and manually execute the broadcasting with the right variants.

Information Broadcasting: Monthly Reporting with variable dates

Dear all,
we have created a lot of reports with RD and have pubished the reports in the portal. Our reports have a lot of selection screens. Now we would like to use information broadcasting. We have already created information broadcasting settings. We have maintained fix variants for our reporting
For example:
Variant x1
Organization: C110
Scenario: Actual
Date: is filled by the user Exit
Now we tried to shedule the report. We are using Variant x1 to find the correct selection. The problem is, that we have already saved a fix date in the variant (for example 01.01.2008), because the field is obligatory.
The User-Exit for the variables works with step 1, but the problem ist, that the variant x1 is overwriting our User-Exit value.
How can I avoid, that the Variant is not overwriting the User-Exit. Of course for reporting without variant, the manual entry has priority before the user exit.

in order to update months, firstly create variants for the reports. Then implement the below program modifying the users inputs. For current month or last month you have to hard something like sy-datum(6), an you have to hard code the field name for the month variable that you use in query.
Below program is for BI 7.0, you can also check the document. It also contains a method for bw 3.5 variants.
You can schedule this program in a process chain or make variations of this as needed.

Broadcasting multiple reports to one email adress

Dear All,
we have the requirement to generate multiple single reports and to broadcast them via PDF. We have everything working but the individual reports are sent to one e-mail adress, so that one e-mail adress can receive multiple emails. We would like to make the setting that multiple reports are combined in one e-mail per e-mail adress.

If possible, try to create a Web application designer with all the Queries in it and execute the report.

Broadcasting Blank Reports

Is there any configuration I can use to stop Broadacsting blank reports. I'm doing a basic broadcast to email of a bex report. The report shows absence by cost centre. However there are some cost centres where the employee's assigned have not been absent. But the report is still mailed out (mailing to all users in a role). The recipient get's an email with header and logo on but no data. In cases like this is there anyway of stopping it sending these reports.

With standard functionality i really don't see any place where we can customize this requirement. But if we customize the broadcaster job by understanding ABAP behind it..I think it should be possible to restrict.
We have customized the broadcaster utility in BSP which creates the broadcast settings. I believe on similar lines it should be possible.

Broadcasting BEx report using custom date

Hello All,
Presently we are broadcasting reports where for every period change we are manually changing the period and broadcasting it.
Eg: P1 starts from 13th Jan, 2014, ends on 10th Feb, 2014 and P2 starts from 11th Feb, 2014, ends on 12th March, 2014.
So, when P1 ends we are manually changing the period value to P2 and broadcasting it.
Is there a way by which we can automate the process where at every period change the period value will get changed and the report will get broadcasted without any manuall intervention. I heard that it is possible to do it using a custom table where the period start and end date will be maintained and trigger the broadcast through process chain.
Can you please help me out with it?

Yes it is very much possible.The broadcasting settings which you create gets stored in the table
RSRD_SETT_NODE_A
You should create one test broadcast setting by giving proper technical name through RSRT and then check if you can find the same in the mentioned table or not.
