Broadcasting issue

Hi all,
We are having a scenario where user will get some error reports through broadcasting once in a week. Last week, the same error report is going to the users multiple times. Is there any way to restrict the report to be sent only once to the user? I mean if any setting to be done, please guide me.

Hi Vijay,
Check if some users may be selected multiple times in different user groups.check the multiple broadcasted timings for any user and find out the reason. Also check if the broad casting is happening through process chain/manual.

QuickTime Live Broadcast issues.

After upgrading to 802.11n, I have had a problem watching Live QuickTime broadcasts in both wired and wireless modes. Video / audio drops out constantly and what video I do get, is severely pixelated and is totaly unusable.
I have re-installed my 802.11g unit and the problem goes away. I have never had this problem untill I replaced my AirPort Extreme "g".
I have tried port mapping QuickTime Server with no change.
I have tried everything I can think of with no luck. Am I the only one with this problem? Did I miss a setting somewhere? How is this problem corrected?

btw: the same computer works fine at the local Apple Store (which uses the 802.11n Extreme) ... but not with the 802.11n Extreme at my home. The Apple Store folks say that aside from assigning specific channels, they have only "default" settings. I tried changing my channel to something other than Automatic ... but it doesn't help.
Since the earlier post - I've set-up the older 802.11g unit and got screen captures of all the settings. Then went back to the 802.11n and ensured that the set-up of the two units are identical (to the extent there is 1-to-1 correspondence).
also: two of my systems also have the latest releases of Quicktime and Flip4Mac. They have problems of their own! (See their discussion forums). But my older iBook has the same software that has been used without issues for the past several months. The only "new" item in the system is the new 802.11n base station.

Schedule broadcasting issue after SP 17

Hi,
When I schedule a broadcasting in BI, users are not receiving the report via email.
We just apllied SP 17 and before that broacasting was working fine.
Please you help me to resolve this issue?

Hi Cesar,
As far as I know about BI Broadcasting the SMTP setting are done on BI side not at the portal side. Please check the BI Portal Integration setting and SMTP setting again.

Information Broadcasting issue

Hi,
I have a BW query which is automated to run in background through Information Broadcasting to send the report to couple of users.
The query 'A' runs for 3 hours in Production , it used to run fine. There were no changes done to the Broadcaster settings.
The only thing that was changed is only this query 'A' used in a single process chain, later a new query 'B' is added to process chain run in background thru broadcaster. The queries run thru RSRD_BROADCAST_STARTER in the process chain , and I tried the same running manually.And it returns the result only when I run around 15:00:00 in the evening.
The next day or 2 onwards this query 'A' runs for 3 hrs but never sends an email. But query B also runs for 3 hrs but sends an email.
I have trouble shooted this in the following way:
1) The process chain runs through BATCH ID which also runs similar process chain for other region and it works fine. So it is not BATCH ID issue.
2) New information broadcaster settings were created and then ran. it never sent a mail. so not problem in broadcaster settings.
3) Checked SCOT transaction to see the mail is transmitted or not. there is no sign of the emails pending for the query A.
4) If i run this in morning or noon or even 14:59 PM it never sends the mail. ONLY at 15:00:00 when run it sends email .
5) there is no flaw in the report A as it returns the results in email at 15:00:00 run but not prior to that..
6) There is nothing in the setting that this has to run only at 15:00:00 time.. and it runs fine at that time and sends email
All priorer runs it runs for 3hour but never sends an email.
I need some experts help on this. Did any one experience this kind of issue.
Could some one tell me any other check points..pointers..etc.

Is there any setting based on SCOT Transaction for delaying e-mail broadcasting ?? check numbers for parameter "Maximum waiting time for repeat send attempt procedure" ...
Also some times mail server queues mails for some time and then sends in bulk .. Just check with admin guys ..
Above could be one of the reason for not getting broadcasting till certain time .
Also there is a program called "RSRD_BROADCAST_FOR_TIMEPOINT" link

which is used to preset the times for broadcasts. ..
Just check in SM37 if some job using same program has been defined over there ...for time 15:00:00

Broadcaster issues.

I'm trying to use Quicktime Broadcaster for live streaming an event over the web for work. I've got a couple of problems doing this, and I can't seem to find a solution anywhere.
I'm using a MacBook Pro with OSX 10.5.4, Quicktime Broadcaster version 1.5.2, and a SonyHDV 1080i/Mini DV camera.
Because I've using a digital camera, I SHOULD be able to use a firewire to broadcast directly from the camera to the computer, but Broadcaster doesn't recognize my camera that way. There is no source option for my camera after I plug it in; broadcaster only shows Built-In-Sight as a source option. I checked in iMovie, and the camera registers with that program, so I know it was plugged in correctly. Broadcaster just won't recognize it. Why is this an issue?
I've also tried using a DV converter with the camera. I plugged everything in correctly, and DV Converter is an option for the source, which I chose. BUT after choosing DV Converter as the source, no preview of the video for the camera shows. It will only show a preview for Built-In-Sight. Broadcasting from the converter to the web doesn't work either, so it isn't just an issue with the preview. Before getting the HDV camera, we used an analog camera to broadcaster through the DV Converter. The converter just isn't working with the HDV camera.
Because we invested so much money in the HDV camera, we're willing to buy another broadcasting software that will work for us, BUT I can't seem to find one that is legitimately worth the money.
So, does anyone have any suggestions for me? Anything would be helpful. Thanks!

I have checked the tutorial and FAQ site. There was no information on what do if Broadcaster isn't recognizing your camera. As I said before, Broadcaster worked fine with our DV Converter and old analog camera. The problem is that it doesn't work with our HD camera even when we use the DV converter.
To be honest, Broadcaster's help section and tutorials are very limited and not that specific.
Does anyone have suggestions for a different broadcasting software?

Broadcasting issues

I have the following issues in the broadcasting.
1. After creating the template in WAD and executed, I clicked on send icon then bex broadcaster window opened. In that window the following tabs are displayed 1. Dataanalysis 2. Graphical Display 3. information 4. Information Broadcasting. When clicked on information broadcasting "Create New Setting" and "CReate new setting with wizard" button are disabled.
2. When i publish directly from WAD to bex broadcaster, i can create a wizard and also send the report in form of PDF to Emails but when i open the PDF in the email, The template looks totally different (Some junk template) and STRANGE thing which I observed is that when I publish the report from query designer to bex broadcaster, the PDF to email looks similar to 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN_EXPORT template. So the broadcaster is pointing to different template when broadcasting from query designer and WAD. Is there any setting which we need to do so that my WAD broadcasting template looks similar to query designer template?
Can anyone give some inputs on this scenarios.

I am assuming there is some problem in your web template. May be there is some settings problem.
Can you check the message in SCOT transaction after executio of report via broadcasting.
Can you pls check the out put by giving OTemplate as the source templete to the required report.

Quicktime Streaming Server Live broadcast Issue

Hi All,
If someone could please help me with this, I have a Quicktime Streaming server set up in our DMZ with Nicecast being used to broadcast up to the server. When I enter the URL of the station in Internet Explorer Windows Media Player launches without any issue and plays the live broadcast. When I try to launch the URL in Firefox or Google Chrome for some reason the Quicktime plugin attempts to play the broadcast, plays about 10 seconds and stops. Any thoughts to why that is?

the little QT box should disappear and the player will display in the area below the 'Riot Radio' graphic. However, the '<OBJECT>' and '<EMBED>' tags are deprecated in favor of using Apple's javascript implementation of calling QT in web pages. This is also the reason that the QT plugin doesn't load in IE 7 (last image) -the 'Q' with the '?' mark on it.

PreCalculation and Broadcasting Issue

Dear Gurus,
We are facing an issue in our Broadcasts in Precalculation Server. The error which is coming is as below.
Points to be noted :
1. All our broadcasts in Office 2003 workbooks are going fine.
2. We have upgraded our Server to Office 2007 yesterday and issue is coming after it.
3. This issue is coming till now only in Workbooks created in Office 2007.
Kindly let us know if you have any idea on this issue.
Diagnosis
The precalculation server call to precalculate workbook 1VZL5Y2VAQ8TA72ASTQXQAPZ9 ended with return value 1.

have u upgrade the pre calculation server application ?? u need Precalculation Service SP 801 to be used with office 2007
check the sap site and download the same.. then it will work..
also read SAP Note 1236773 - BI7.X(7.10) Precalculation - General Information&Limitations

Hello Experts,
I am doing boradcasting to my KM Test Portal.
I logon to BEx Boradcaster->select Object type as workbooks->Create new setting ->choose export to other folder..then i get a pop error message that
Bi and Portal Server are not running in same domain...the i clik ok to that...after that i choose the folder in which i want to broadcast...and click transfer..the system just stucks..it does'nt do anything after that....
can anybody throw some light why is this happenning..is there a log file which i can check for KM portal ...for transferring the file to the portal....
this setup is working fine in my BID and BIP server.only BIQ is having a problem.
I have matched the settings in Portal, Visual administrator as well all are same.
but in the report RSPOR_CUST13 for both BIP and BID all vairants are green,....but for BIQ the Cert thing is red...but again from BIQ portal i can coomunicate to ABAP and back to java

EMail broadcasting issue!

I have a couple of questions:
1.I am sending my web reports to users via email.Is there anyway that I can send the report in the body with all the color and splendor?Or just as a single file with all the format retained?
With the 'html with separate mime file' option with ZIP it works fine upon extraction.
2.Can I send graphs via mail. Even if I broadcast from the graph tab, I get only tables in the mail.

The independent HTML file does not seem to be much formatted in Lotus.
For sending graphs you can create your own template which has the graph and broadcast that template. The default template which is used for sending email does not contain a chart item in it, thats the reason why when you broadcast the charts are not send.

SSID Broadcast issue

Here is my scenario:
We have an arena environment where 32 AP's broadcast 2 SSID's (ssid-A, and ssid-b). I want to prevent wireless clients from associating to 2 of my AP's ssid-A, I just want to broadcast and have clients associate to ssid-B, so my question is, if I remove ssid-A from broadcasting on those 2 AP's will that prevent those clients from associating to it?

Not broadcasting the SSID will not prevent clients for connecting if they know the SSID Name etc. If you are using the WLC LWAPP configuration you can use WLAN Override to clip this SSID from the 2 AP's.
Enabling WLAN Override
By default, access points transmit all defined WLANs on the controller. However, you can use the WLAN Override option to select which WLANs are transmitted and which ones are not on a per access point basis. For example, you can use WLAN override to control where in the network the guest WLAN is transmitted or you can use it to disable a specific WLAN in a certain area of the network.

Workbook broadcasting issue

Hi, am trying to broadcast one of my workbook through Bex broadcaster and it aint seems to be working. Though there is no error message or termination of process the job keeps on running.
We are in an environment of BI release 7.0. Few of our workbooks which are running for the past 2 years still works fine. This problem we face is only for newly created workbooks. We kept the same settings as the old ones still not able to overcome this.
is there any specific settings that needs to be maintained in Precal server or in BEX to over come this. Pls help.

BEx Broadcast Issue

When I execute a broadcast of workbook, the popup window with url http://<appserver>/sap/bw/Mime/BEx/Misc/PleaseWait.html comes up and it remains open and blank without executing the broadcast. This has worked before. When it works, the pop up window gives a detail log of the broadcast.
Has anyone experience this problem?

Information Broadcaster Issue

Hi All,
I just want to know is it possible to make the zipfile password protected which is broadcasted to portal through Information broadcaster in BI 7.0,where in if the end user want to open the zipfile he should be prompted to enter the password for accessing/view the zipfile.

I think it is not possible in the standard system.
I have checked all the code (briefly) that is called for zip files (in info broadcasting) and these do not have an option for password while creating a zip file. Unless I missed something, it (password protecting the zip file) doesn't seem possible.

Work book Broadcasting Issue

Hi Experts,
I have got A pre Calculation server installed in one of my XP Machines. The pre calculation server is functioning properly.
One problem I am facing here is when on the same pre calculation server when I schedule or Direct Broadcasting is done
in Production server the output comes as junk. As we all must have seen in excel when the work book is created in the
higher version of excel and opened in lower version it opens as junk. it is opening is the same fashion
but
in Development server the output is proper.
The best part is that in both the servers the same Pre calculation server is used.

- Please check that the workbook being broadcast opens & refreshes ok on the precalculation server.
- Ensure that the precalculation server is patched to the same or higher level then Analyzer.
- In any case, please test the latest FEPs for Analyzer & Precalculation.
