Broadcasting Itunes via a wifi router

I know my question will seem pretty simple but I am a bit confuse and don't find a proper answer"
I would like if it is possible to send wirelessly my music from itunes with that configuration I have:
G4 quicksilver 933 Mhz
A wifi router Dlink (802.11g) (connected to my Adsl modem) i am it using for wireless access to internet in my home via my Itouch
An Airport express (i would like to buy one if it can work) as a receiver to plug into my stereo to receive itunes remotely and wireless
PLease, can it work? How Itunes will see my wifi router to send thru it?
Or do I have to add a airport card into my G4 (wich can only take old airport card)
Thank you for any help.
Richard

Do I have to do something special to have my dlink be a network?
No
So if i configure aiport express (wich come with a software then I guess to configure it), I tunes will automatically see it with my existing wifi connection?
Yes
Nothingelse to configure with my mac (network) or my dlink?
Yes

  • Connecting to iTunes via a wifi router

I have a wireless router on my network and the wireless subnet is different from the wired subnet. My Internet connection is via a cable modem on the wired subnet, and that is working fine for my wireless devices. What doesn't work is iTunes on the wired subnet WiFi access of my iPad. If I remove the gateway routing, and make the wireless subnet the same as the wired, it works fine. However, I need to have the flexibility to be able to modify the wireless subnet to be able to manage other devices on other subsets (long story, and not really relevant here), so I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to get iTunes to work through the router?

Investigate router firewalls.  After much weeping and gnashing of teeth, I learned that a router firewall can block IOS (iPad and iPod) communication without affecting other devices, such as computers.  Temporarily turn all firewalls off and determine if the iPad works.  If it does, turn the firewalls back on but weaken them as required to allow iPad communications.

  • Apple Product connection to Internet via a Wifi Router on a Class B Network

Hi, I am trying to connect my Apple devices to the Internet on a Class B network via a WiFi Router. My devices did connect via the same Wifi Router when it was on an A Class Network (which has changed to B Class), so don't suspect router.
Is there a configuration change required on the Router or Apple device to make it work on the B-Net?
    Any advice appreciated.

    Hey MattnDonna!
You may want to make sure your wireless network conforms to the following settings:

  • The iTune Remote App has stopped finding my iTunes library when connected to wifi from my main router, but works fine when connected via second wifi router on the same network (different SSID)

I'm running iTunes Remote App from a couple of iPhone 5's and a first generation iPod Touch. iTunes is running on a PC - Windows 7. My home network runs two Wifi Routers, each with a different SSID. I've had no problems with the Remote app running this set up for the last 8 months but recently the App can only find my iTunes library when the iPhone/iPod is connected via one specific router, when connected to the network via the other router, no iTunes library is found. I'm also running an Apple TV and it's the same as the iTunes Library, only visible via the one SSID.
Everything else seems to work fine when connected via either router, eg Internet on the iPhones (definitely via wifi)
I've tried renewing the lease on the iPhone wifi connection, restarting everything.....several times.....
It used to work fine, this only seems to have been a problem in recent weeks
Any help or advice would be much appreciated
    Thanks
    Ian

It turned out to be the firewall settings on our router. Her machine was sending traffic that our router interpreted as a DoS attack and blacklisted her Airport's MAC address. That's why it would work fine if she switched to Ethernet.

Is it possible to recover my data from iCloud backup without working wifi? I have as many other upgraded my iPhone 4S to iOS 7.0.2 with the result that the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth no longer works. However, i can connect to iTunes via cable but there is wrong version of backup.

    Answer is no.
If you want the iCloud backup you have to have n internet connection, thus WiFi.
The not working WiFi has happened with quite a number of users.
It is not exactly clear what is the cause but there are suggestions to clear it up:
Some people have had success by removing an apostrophe from the iPhone name. If your iPhone is called something like “John’s iPhone” then this might work. Go to Settings > General > About > Name and change it to something with no apostrophe.
Some people have reported success by putting the iPhone into Airplane mode and then going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings, but the problem may return.
You could also try going to Settings > Control Center and disable Access on Lock Screen then turn your iPhone off and on again.
Make sure that your router firmware is up to date.
Try backing up your iPhone and then restoring it. Check how to factory reset an iPhone for details.
If nothing is working for you, try contacting Apple or take your iPhone into an Apple Store.
    Succes, Lex

  • Activate AirPort Express via D-Link DI-634M WiFi router to iMac Leopard

I installed an AirPort Express last year via Windows and a "g" WiFi router. Worked, but sporadically. Upgraded to MiMo router (using WPA-PSK) for better range and security, but AirPort Express stopped working.
This month, converted from Windows to iMac (OS-X 10.0) and trying to get AirPort Express working, but Setup Guide is useless, and my system doesn't "see" the AirPort.
Any help will be much appreciated.
    Gib

Yes. You can directly connect an 802.11n AirPort Express Base Station (AXn) using an Ethernet cable. The AXn would then just need to be configured as a bridge to allow the D-Link to continue to provide both NAT & DHCP services for all network clients connected to either router.
In this configuration, the AXn would broadcast a wireless network for your wireless network clients to connect to.

  • IPhone no longer connects to iTunes via Wifi

On July 1,12 my iTunes did an automatic update.  After the computer restarting and I entered iTunes and the following messages appeared:
Message 1: Must reinstall itunes to connect to ipod or mobile devices.
Message 2: CD/DVD folder must be located in itunes folder in order to use with itunes
I have 2 iphones (both 4s, bought at same time, both running iOS 5.1.1)and one will briefly connect to itunes via Wifi (I will identify this one as iphone1) but the other one will not (I will identify this one as iphone2).  I have a PC with Windows 7.
When iphone1 is connected to itunes via wifi is disconnects randomly.  Under: Summary > Version, it has the message: Connect this iphone using a USB cable in order to update or restore its software.  When I have it connected with the USB cable, there are no problems. The settings selected under: Summary > Options > are: Open iTunes when this iphone is connected, Sync with this iphone over Wi-Fi,  & Manually manage music and videos.  The Setting under Backup > Back up to this computer (where it backs up to; I do not know)
iphone2 does not connect via Wifi but used to.  It connects without issues with the USB. The Settings in iTunes > Summary are the same as iphone2 except that iphone2 is set as Backup > Back up to iCloud.
My iphone2 is my primary device.  I use it exclusively; for music, taking photos, syncing photos to my Photo Stream folder on my PC, etc.  The iphone1 is my spouse's secondary phone, so its not used as often (ie: only has 4 songs downloaded, used to take the odd picture, has a mirror image of apps from iphone2).
I searched Apple Support and tried the following solutions that didn't solve this problem:
How to restart the Apple Mobile Device Service (AMDS) on Windows (support.apple.com/kb/TS1567) &
Set the Apple Mobile Device Service Startup type to Automatic
I have not done this: Remove and reinstall iTunes and AMDS. I did goto the: iTunes for Windows: Device Connectivity Tests > iOS > iPhone - iTunes Troubleshooting Assistantand into iTunes > Help > Run Diagnostics.  The results were: All tests passed. (My iphone2 was plugged in with USB. The iphone1 was connected via WiFi.)
What do I do now?  Do I need to remove and reinstall iTunes? and if so will I lose all my itunes info (videos, music, apps, settings) or will it just show up after I install iTunes?

    Hi Mitch,
It sounds like you have already done many of the steps, but I would like you to look at this article -

    Hello, lustige luka.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
The Personal Hotspot feature using USB  should be as simple as connecting the device to your Mac via the USB cable when Hotspot is enabled.  Here is some more information regarding this feature and an article that will provide some troubleshooting steps if you are experiencing an issue.

  • After recent updates, my speeds have dropped off. My iTunes pauses and buffers frequently during a song. Apple has kindly replaced my Apple TV, but the problem remains. I have spent big money on the latest WiFi router (Netgear), but no change. What gives?

I am using Apple TV, linked to my computer network via a NetGear WiFi router. After the latest apple updates, it now takes forever to load my library from my computer. Music pauses frequently to buffer before continuing, and pictures take a long time to load. Apple has replaced my apple tv on warranty, but nothing has improved.

Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

    Hey joshuafromisr,
If you resintall iTunes, it should fix the issue. The following document will go over how to remove iTunes fully and then reinstall. Depending on what version of Windows you're running you'll either follow the directions here:

  • Can't locate my photos, apps and music on my wife's iTunes via home sharing

Hi.  My wife and I share a macbook, with different user profiles.  To date we've been using the one itunes, on my wife's profile, but it plays up a bit, gets us confused etc, so I've set up a new itunes on my profile and am trying to import my music, apps and photos from my wife's itunes via home sharing (using her apple id in both for home sharing purposes).  But I can't seem to find her itunes library in my itunes library.  Any ideas?

Does anybody know how I can get iTunes to find all of my songs it their new folder without me doing it one by one myself? Thanks

  • IPod Touch/iPhone access to iTunes via WiFi store

We're currently working on RSS based solutions to deliver content out of our iTunes U store to students on campus using the iPhone/iPod Touch on campus.
I'm sure this has already passed through as a thread but...
Is there a possibility that we'll see iTunes U access delivered via the iTunes wifi store before the start of the next academic year (August '08)?
    Mark Leaman
    Bowdoin College

There are a few issues with accessing iTunesU content from your iPhone or iPod touch across your local wifi... Here are some of the solutions we're working toward at Bowdoin.
    *1. Ease of Access*
Let's face it... typing a fully qualified URL into Safari on your iPhone isn't fast, or easy if it is a long address. Using an apache redirect, we're redirecting 'itunes' locally on campus to http://www.bowdoin.edu/itunes. So, for an on campus user, simply entering "itunes" in their browser on their iPhone/iPod Touch will take them to our (soon to open) iTunes U mobile version site (if they are using the campus wifi).
*2. No iTunes U in Wifi Store*
Since iTunes U isn't accessible via the iTunes Wifi Store we had to get creative using the mobile Safari app. When a user lands at http://www.bowdoin.edu/itunes/ the page has a javascript redirect to detect if they're using an iPhone/iPod touch (sample script below). The script will redirect them to a "iPhone/iPod Touch"ized gateway on mobile Safari for accessing our iTunes U content via rss (pulled from "subscribe" button in an iTunes U course".
*3. No .mov support on iPods*
We have some .mov content that won't play on iPhone/iPod. We've adopted iPhone export settings in Quicktime as our ubiquitous format for iTunes U video content.
I've rigged a demo that you can try on your iPhone or iPod Touch Safari browser via: http://itunes.bowdoin.edu
You should be redirected to a page with three buttons linking to feeds provided from with our site in iTunes U. (Note: .mov content samples, such as Athletics, are broken due to the limitation of iPods not being able to play a .mov file.)
    iPhone/iPod Touch detect/redirect script:
    +<script language=javascript>+
    <!--
    +if((navigator.userAgent.match(/iPhone/i)) || (navigator.userAgent.match(/iPod/i)))+
    location.replace("iphone-version.shtml");
    -->
    </script>

  • Using ITUNES via WIFI hotspots

I currently own an iTouch 16GB 2nd Gen, i had a problem when i was using wifi for my itouch all of the wifi features worked like the safari browser, email, youtube it was okay. But when i tried using the app store it lets me go in the app store but when i try downloading like the free games it lets me press the install button then when the game is already loading it says connect itouch to itunes like theres an error or something.
And when i click on the itunes via itouch on a wifi hotspot it says itunes not available in your country im from the phil. and ive got a lot of friends who uses itunes with their itouch and it works okay with theirs.

t lets me press the install button then when the game is already loading it says connect itouch to itunes like theres an error or something.
It sounds like you don't have a credit card linked to your iTunes account. You must have done this to download even the free apps. People in many parts of the world (not Canada) can use an iTunes Gift Card.
