Broadcom wireless died after update

I just did a system update a little bit ago and upon rebooting my wireless wouldn't work. It's a Broadcom 4311 internal card on my laptop. It worked fine before the update, and I used the bcm43xx-fwcutter method from the Arch Wireless wiki tutorial to get it set up. It's been working since I installed Arch, which was right after Voodoo was released, so almost 6 months.
I tried to do:
rmmod bcm43xx
and then reinstall through fwcutter, but that did nothing. The weird thing is, I can iwlist eth1 scanning and it shows my wireless connection available. iwconfig eth1 essid "myConnection" mode Managed doesn't help, either, it just accepts it and does nothing. I know my wireless/internet is working still because my girlfriend's connected to it wirelessly. It's also working fine on my big pc and on the ethernet port on my laptop.
I haven't changed anything in my rc.conf or network profile that would make it stop working:

I suspect the the update from Dhcpd or the new kernel 2.6.22 to be suspect. What can I do to fix this, and has anyone else had the same problem? http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=36115 This looks like it may be the same problem, or something similar.
Any help would be appreciated!

after some updates a while ago i have had to use wifi-radar with 'Ifup required' option in preferences ON. or else it wouldn't connect...

The iphone is designed to be synced to your computer or cloud service regularly. Your contacts will be in whatever program/service you have chosen to sync.
If you have failed to sync your contacts then they are likely gone.
You can try restoring from backup.
You should be transferring any purchases made on the iphone to your computer regularly. Just sync them back. if you have failed to do this, then redownload them:

[Solved] Atheros Wireless Fails after Update

After the update to kernel 3.6.37 the wireless on my Macbook pro is close to useless, but used to work very well before. Madwifi was upgraded as well but I suspect another problem.
Using WICD there is no wireless at all! With networkmanager the available networks are visible and sometimes logs on. However, the network fails quickly and starts asking for the password - most of the time it is useless typing in the password again. So the wireless is basically working but very unstable with networkmanager and non-existent anymore with WICD.
Any ideas?

Found out more which might be significant for madwifi users:
According to the wiki I loaded the following modules in rc.conf: ath-hal, ath9k, wlan
Beside this one line in the modprobe.conf should be added: alias ath0 ath_pci. This way wicd as well as networkmanager used ath0 for connecting to wireless.
After the update I noticed that there is another wifi device in ifconfig listed: wlan0. So I suspected that 2 devices pointing at the same hardware may cause the instability, but de-activating one by ifconfig didn't help. Now I noticed by loading the modules one by one that the new ath9k is already defining wlan0 and the wireless starts working without loading the module wlan. It looks stable so far, but if I should be right I'm impossibly the only one having this trouble.
Confirmation would be nice, but I will mark this thread "solved" now.

ATV died after updating

I have a brand new ATV, was setting itt up to my TV and network and iMac, and everything worked fine.
Then I selected update, and it took a looong time but finished in the end after more than 30mins (I have a download speed on my network around 40MB/s).
But after updating the ATV box just died, the LED is completely off.
Yhen I tried reboot with power cycling, and after there came a screen picture wich I interpreted as I need to connecting with the USB cable - and I am not able to do anything with thw remote or anything. I do not have this micro-USB cable - any suggestions anyone?

Sadly, you need to get the micro-usb cable to get the Apple TV to work again. It happened to my Apple TV 3, and I had to run down to Radio Shack to buy one. It was about $13 for the shortest one they had, but it ended up working and restoring the unit once you plug it in to your computer. That's better than going out and purchasing a new Apple TV for $99.

SmartWatch 2 died after update with Sony Update Service

After problems with Call Handling app after update of my xperia z ultra to Kitkat 4.4.4. I was told by support to repair my firmware using PC Companion. It didn't help. Afterwards I was instructed to update my SW2 firmware with Sony Update Service (SUS).
I downloaded SUS and installed on my PC and followed the instructions. It said that the SW2 already has latest version. I clicked continue and after 40% it failed saying that there was an error with connection click retry or contact support. I tried several times - all attempts failed.
After I tried turning on my SW2 but it was dead. And any other steps didn't help to turn it on.
Nearest Service center is in Moscow, I live in Astana, Kazakhstan. So I am not even sure if they can help us even if I spend my time and money to take it there.
So the bottom line is - never use SUS to update your watches, folks.

Similar problem: Said yes to an update; after update only Computers and Settings logo on screen, updated again via traditional iTunes method and got everything back except for Settings. Anytime I select a specific settings menu such as "General" screen goes black. Can only get back to main menu by pressing menu key on remote twice. Lesson learned: only allow an update if there's a major upgrade offered by Apple. They just don't test these updates thoroughly enough before releasing.

Problems with Broadcom wireless card after Kernel Upgrade

After upgrading to version 2.6.39 of the linux kernel, I am having trouble with my Broadcom BCM4312 wireless card. The broadcom-wl driver no longer seems to work, even after reinstalling it from the AUR. The b43 driver seems to be able to connect to unencrypted networks, but can no longer connect to my family's WPA Personal encrypted router. Is anybody else having a similar problem?

As I understand it my laptop has been fine and it uses broadcom-wl, and I just re-yaourt it each time my kernel version changes using a cable in my router. But I believe there is something called dkms and a version of the driver for it, which (I haven't read fully into it) is something like a separate tree, which can (from what little I've read) eliminate this need to recompile every time, however I literally read this 5 minutes ago, from the AUR page for broadcom-wl and a quick google so I wouldn't be surprised if there is more to it than that.

No wireless Internet after updating to iOS 4.3.3 and other bugs

Yesterday I updated my iPhone 4 to the latest version (4.3.3), and have noticed that the network is only showing EDGE (E icon) eventhough 3G is enabled. Before this 3G internet was working fine. I checked the APN settings, and they haven't changed. Are any of you guys having the same problem?
Besides that, today, for no apparent reason, while my phone was ringing, the display turned off, and the iPhone wasn't turning on (black screen), and I had to restart the iPhone to get it working again.
Are this issues related to the update?
Maybe I shouldn't update, but ****, if Apple puts an update over the internet it's because they've tested it and because it's supposed to be better than the Firmware you're actually running, isn't it?

No wireless 5G after updating to Yosemite

After upgrading to Yosemite (Macbook Pro Retina 2013), I cannot access my Airport Extreme 5G Network anymore. During trying to connect I get always a "timeout". IOS 8 works.
Anyone experiencing the same issue? Any help here? (the standard Wireless is way too slow...)

I have deleted in my network settings, the WiFi (and all other) connections and added them back again.
Now it works like a charm! (also VPN, dropbox etc hanged often before - now all ok).

My iPhone 4 died after updating to the new software

I was just wondering if this had happened to anyone else, two days ago i tried to upgrade my iPhone to the new software, 4.2, and my iPhone literally died on me! Now all that appears on my iPhone's screen is the connect to iTunes sign. When i do connect it, a message comes up saying my iPhone is in recovery mode and needs to be restored. Unfortunately though every time I try this the restore fails. I have called apple support and now have to go up to the Apple Store in Sydney and get them to give me a new phone. As i said above i was wondering if anyone else has ever had this problem.

IPhone 4S: Wifi died after update to iOS 7.0.x

I updated to iOS 7.0.x some time ago which broke my Wifi. Apparently, the apple store in Australia told me that I had to call Applecare since I picked my phone up in France; but there's no way of getting in touch with them through phone nor chat without paying. How would I go about doing this?
I feel a bit annoyed by the fact that hardware is working fine and software killed it. What does that have to do with my expired hardware warranty?
Anyone else in a similar situation? Would be interested to know how you resolved it.

Hi there,
I actually went into my local apple store and had an appointment in the genius bar.
They did a reset by turning my phone upside down and pressing down the button on the table.
The button seems to be permanently stuck but everything else is functioning now.
They added a new "off button" to the screen through general setting.
So now I lock the screen or turn off the phone with this digital button and not the actual hard button on the top.
In a couple weeks I'll probably order a new phone, until then hopefully this will last.
