BroadXent DSL Router to older AEBS - can't get multiple connections

Router is "auto detection" half or full bridge mode, direct ethernet cable to older "mushroom" AEBS. For some reason, can only get one wireless connection at a time. Have to shut down connected machine before can get connection to another. Not unusual that I have to cycle power on modem and AEBS to get new connection. This is a recent problem. I had a LinkSys BRFSR81 router (which died today) between the modem and AEBS and had no problem w/multiple wireless machines at the same time. Likewise, tried to temporarily use a Netgear 4 port switch in place of the linksys router, and can only get one hardwired internet connection at a time. (Modem=> LinkSys 8 port, 5 ports ethernet to various macines, one port to AEBS to 4-5 laptops - worked out well, everyone got connectivity) What am I missing? Help please!! - family is all over me about no connectivity!

Mission accomplished.
I used the instructions in the last post of this thread:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=11085975&#11085975
BUT, I set the AEBS to PPPoe rather than DHCP.
Rebooted the Westell, powered up the AEBS...Good to Go!

  • Follow up to: BroadXent DSL Router to older AEBS - can't get multiple conne

I have discovered that while I can get one wireless connection via the AEBS, when I try and plug an ethernet cable in to get a hardwired connection - there is no connection.
Does this indicate that while the wireless function is OK, that maybe the router function is "kaput" and I have an only partially functioning AEBS?
(If so, I have been fighting a "chain" of problems starting with unstabile DSL connection, intermittant and now hard failure of LinkSys router, and non-functioning router within the AEBS. The LinkSys router is being replaced under warranty - eagerly awaiting it's replacement's receipt!))
    Any thoughts?? Thanks
    Harvey

You don't get a Greate Network... , that brings up the above Coputer to Computer box?
    You're on 10.7.3??

  • I am trying to setup wireless using my old dome Airport ExtremeBase station. I had previously used it about 5 years ago when I had dial up but have now switche to DSL with Windstream. I can not get connecte as ABS keeps trying to dial up(the phone number)

I am trying to setup wireless using my old dome Airport Extreme Base station. I had previously used it about 5 years ago when I had dial up but have now switched to DSL with Windstream. I can not get connected as the ABS keeps trying to dial up(the old phone number). When I tried to change my network settings an annoying popup window says "your network settings have been changed by another application'. I have no idea what the message is all about and when I close this window it immediately pops up again and prevents me -as far as I can tell -from changing my Airport settings?  I need advice on how to get this wireless setup done. Maybe a reset? or something else? I have the DSL phone line plugged into WIndsteam Seimens Speedstream 4200 modem and then the ethernet (yellow) wire from the WIndsteam Seimens Speedstream 4200 modem to the port on the dome that is a circle of dots.

1)Can you explain how using the AEBS as a bridge will work with the Seimens Speedstream4200?
As a bridge, the AEBS will basically become a wireless access point. This will allow the AEBS to provide a wireless network, but still allow the Speedstream to provide NAT & DHCP services for the wireless clients connected to the AEBS. If the AEBS was left as a router, you would have a double-NAT condition which isn't necessary bad in itself, but would create a second subnet. That would make it more difficult for clients connected to the AEBS to access clients connected to the Speedstream.
    2) Is there a link that will guide me through the steps to set the AEBS as a bridge?
You can easily reconfigure the AEBS as a bridge using the AirPort Utility.
ref: AirPort Utility > Select the AEBS > Manual Setup > Internet > Internet Connection > Connection Sharing = Off (Bridge Mode)
3)Can I just connect the DSL phone line to the AEBS and eliminate the Speedstream4200?
Unfortunately no. The AEBS does not have a built-in DSL modem. You will still need the Speedstream to provide this function.

  • Imac i5 late 2009 running OS X 10.8.4 and can't get FireWire connection to work

I have Imac i5 late 2009 running OS X 10.8.4 and can't get FireWire connection to work with LaCie external drive.  I have gone through older posts and tried with no luck power cable and holding down start button for 15 seconds and restoring power and also removing power cable waitng 10 minutes replugging power cable holding down alt command P, R keys until second beep is heard.  I know that LaCie drive and cable are working, they were connnected to another iMac without issues.  What options do I have left to get FireWire to work? The System Report just says
    FireWire Bus:
Maximum Speed: Up to 800 Mb/sec.
    Thanks for any help
    CS

I did not mention in original post that when initially connected to the Firewire port the LaCie drive  I can hear activity so the drive is getting power. Does this mean the Firewire port may not be physically damamged and there may be options for resetting? Are there any 3rd party software repair programs worth buying for diagnostics and repair of the FireWire port?

  • I can't get the connect to work after base installion.

Hello, everyone, I am new to Arch Linux.
I follow the installation guide install Arch Linux, Everything run pretty smooth, except at the part when I need to choose the package, I am not so sure what I am doing. So I choose everything except for the thing that I am sure I would never need.
When the installation is complete, I try to go to the next setup which update my system, but some how, I can't get the connection working, switch mean, I couldn't do anything beyond that. (both wireless and wired network, BTW I am using DSL and I do try the adsl thing)
Every thing seem make sense to me during the installation, but I just can't get the network connection working.
BTW: my laptop is a Toshiba portege M100.
    Any idea?
    Thanks

    Try typing in:
dhcpcd eth0 (or whatever interface you are using)
and hit enter, I had the same type of problem and this woke up my network connection.
Edit: Also, once you gain your connection up and running, you might want to install ifplugd.  It is a daemon which will automatically configure your Ethernet device when a cable is plugged in and automatically unconfigure it if the cable is pulled, which is good for laptops.  Once installed make sure you put it in /etc/rc.conf under the DAEMONS section.
Here is some info in the wiki http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Configuring_network

    Hi Ranjith
    You can use
PYBEGDA and PYENDDA instead of PN-BEGDA AND PN-ENDDA.

  • Can we get multiple graphs dynamically in oracle apex?

Can we get multiple graphs dynamically in a page in oracle apex?

    Vaishalini wrote:
    Thank You riedelme and Howard.
Below is the example, I need to dynamically displays graphs with content (somewhat) dynamically selected for client from the select list.
    Example :-
    Lets say client A contains 5 contracts as A1, A2, A3, A4, A5.
    And Client B contains 3 contracts as B1 ,B2, B3.
created a graph for contracts on sum(unique_submissions) and sum(total_submissions).
    Requirement is :-
When I select Client A , then the page should show 5 individual graphs based on client A contracts in same page(as client A has 5 contracts).
Similarly when select client B , the same page should show 3 graphs (as client B has 3 contracts).
Please let me know if you understood the example, what I was trying to explain to you (I hope)and let me know if you need further more information.
Thanks. It sounds like you need to use Howard's idea of conditional region display. When you select client A display client A graphs, and when you select client B display those graphs. Read about conditional region display in the documentation and post back here if you have more questions

Ok, first thing, why are you doing anything with WAMP or XAMPP when you're running a Mac? MAMP should be what you want unless you're not explaining part of what you are trying to do.
2nd thing, I haven't used MAMP in a while, but there are two possibilities for not seeing what you want to see once you have MAMP turned on. One possibility is that you already have "Web Sharing" turned on in your Sharing Preference Pane. If that is the case, port 80 will already be taken and you'll be seeing the default Apache install (files are stored at /Library/WebServer/Documents/). This would push MAMP to either not turn on it's web serving capabilities, or to push it to another port. The other possibility is that MAMP defaults to another port anyway. So instead of localhost, you might have to type in localhost:8080 or something similar. I believe the control panel that gets installed can take you to the currently MAMP-served page, and it can also help you change which port your serving on.
80 is the default port for web serving and the ONLY port that will let you get straight to the server without having to type in webaddress.com:port# instead of just webaddress.com.

  • Can't get internet connection via ethernet

I have had 3 computers, 1 pc and 2 Macs, networked through ethernet for two years. Never had problems until yesterday. We just can't get on the internet on the Macs. Both macs say "Your computer isn't connected." Talked to D-Link router, everything was fine. Macs recognize IP and all numbers, so they told us to call Apple. Any ideas?
    Thanks.

    Possibly:
    reboot the macs.
    check the cables.
    reboot the router.
    reboot the dsl/cable/whatever modem.
Are you getting a valid Ip ddress from the D-Link (192.168.xx.xx, or is it a 169.xxx.xxx.xxx?)
In Network utilities, can you ping an outside IP by name? Ping an outside site by IP by number? Ping the router IP? Ping the PC?
