Broken apple logo with line in running like curve when i start my ipad

Dear all,
I have this problems since yesterday. A curve line appears through the apple logo when i start my ipad...is this indication of a problem???or what...

The Apple logo DOES have a curve running through it.  If it's just the Apple logo itself and not the screen, then there's nothing wrong.
Best regards

If running 10.7 or later hold down Command-R at Startup.
    This should invoke recovery Mode.
    Choose Disk Utility.
Select your Hard drive. Inspect the SMART Status in the lower right of the window for "Verified".
Select the Mac OS X Volume (originally Macintosh HD) click (Repair Disk)
If errors, run again until it comes clean or gets stuck.

    Hi ahmedsgh,
I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your iPhone. If it isn't responding or starting up past the Apple logo screen, you may find the troubleshooting steps outlined in the following article helpful, in particular this portion:
If your device gets stuck during startup
When starting up, you might see the Apple logo or a red or blue screen for a long time, or your device might restart again. Try these steps:
Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.
Put your device in recovery mode.
When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond or doesn't turn on - Apple Support
    Regards,
    - Brenden

  • 10.6.8 software update won't reboot. It replaces the Apple logo with a circle with a diagonal line though it. What's the best course of action from here?

I used software update last night and my iMac didn't restart afterwards. I spun the little "dashed" wheel for a bit and then replaced the Apple Logo with a slashed circle symbol. I"ve tried several fixes without success and would like to know what my best approach might be.
I've tried to boot into single user mode but that failed the same as above. I've tried disk verify and repair permissions using Disk Utility, again without success in fixing the problem.

    com.apple.iokiast.IOUSBMassStorageClass
is a Apple kext file and likely necessary.
What you can do is backup your Users folders to another external drive (not TimeMachine) first so you have your files outside of TM. Disconnect this drive for safety reasons.
Then hold c and boot off the OS X 10.6 installer disk and simply reinstall OS X on top of the installed version, then use the 10.6.8 Combo Update here
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
That should replace the troubled kext file with a fresh version.
This shouldn't bother your files or third party programs unless they have kext files or other "hooks" into OS X, if these programs fail, then just reinstall them from fresh sources and/or update to reinstall their missing parts.
Consider cloning your boot drive to a external HFS+ journaled formatted drive with Carbon Copy Cloner.

Obviously since you have iOS 7 you're a developer.  As a developer, you signed a NDA with Apple not to discuss the iOS on a public forum.  Please log in to the Developer Forum using your credentials and ask for help there, lest you risk having your credentials terminated.

  • My iMacG5 shutsdown from the Gray screen with Apple logo after the fans run

I hope someone who might read this can help me...
Tonight my iMac G5 screen froze and prompted me to do a forced shut down. Upon restarting the computer it would not allow me to log in. After the start up chime sound and the gray screen with the Apple logo with spinning wheel happens, it shifted to a blue screen and stayed stuck that way not going further to my log in profile.
After a few forced shutdowns, the gray screen with the Apple logo did not shift to the blue screen, instead, as soon as I hear the computers fans blow, the computer now automatically shuts itself off.
Following online posts, I tried both the command option PR function and also at start up I tried the fscyk -fyk (something like that) but both failed to fix the issues.
I am worried that I might have to shell out fees just to get Apple advice that might not guarantee a fix.
    Help!
    Thank you.

I want to wipe my HD clean. Command R won't bring up disk utility, it just keeps spinning on the Apple logo. I'm running 10.9.3 on a macbook pro.

Select the Recovery partition. It should boot to a screen like this:
Select Disk Utility and reformat your boot drive, formatting with a single GUID partition as "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)". Once the partition is erased go back to Reinstall Mac OS X and install the OS on your newly formatted partition. It may take a while and if you downloaded Mavericks from the Mac App Store (duh!) you may need your Apple ID and password handy.
Installing the OS may take quite some time as it will necessitate downloading the 5GB+ OS file.
Now you'll be able to make a clean installation of everything.

Hello, do you have the Install Discs for it?
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

  • 7th generation iPod nano flashes apple logo with a white screen and won't play.  What is wrong with it?

I have a 7th Generation iPod Nano that started flashing the Apple logo with a white background.  I have tried Diagnostics, restoring the iPod and even resetting it.  At one point it was in a Restore Loop.  I'm thinking maybe it has a virus but reading further says that I may be missing one of the drivers.  Is there any way to fix it without taking into a tech?? Please help...miss my music!!

    Hi jkjuarez2012,
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like your iPod nano is only showing the Apple logo with a white background, and you've tried many good steps including resetting and restoring the device. I know I'd miss my music in this situation.
Make sure that you followed the steps in this article when restoring your iPod:
Restoring iPod to factory settings - Apple Support
If the issue continues after restoring, your iPod nano may need to be serviced. You can use this link to find out more about iPod service:
If the issue is still not resolved, please read this information on servicing your iPod.

  • Macbook pro will not boot, gets stuck on great apple logo with spinning wheel.

I have a Macbook Pro A1287 13" Core2Duo Intel running Mavericks. This morning it would not boot and got stuck at the grey apple logo with the spinning wheel. I have tried:
    1. Resetting PRAM
    2. Resetting SMC
    3. Starting in Safe Mode
    4. Boting to recovery partition and verifiying and repairing both disc and permissions
Unfortunately none of these have worked.
I thought after reading other discussions that it may be the sign/start of hard drive failure and that the hard drive may be corrupt.
The strange thing is that I swapped the hard drive with another macbook pro that I use in work and it boots to the HD no problem, all my files and desktop are as expected.
So, I thought this must be a hardware issue, maybe something to do with the hard drive cable, the battery or worse the main board, but when I put my work macbook hard drive in my macbook it also boots. Other than swapping the machines, I'm not really sure what to do.
One thing to note is that I have noticed over the past few months that the clock will have re-set when booting up and that occasionally the machine will turn off with no warning and reboot.
I would have thought if it was a hard drive problem, the drive would not boot in any machine, and if it were a hardware problem then the machine would not boot with different drive in it.
    Any ideas, would be appreciated.

Thanks Linc for the swift answer. From what I have read on this discussion board and from other sources the model of Macbook I have does not have a logic-board battery, but may have a soldered on capacitor.
Also, would this not cause the other drive I tried in the laptop to fail to boot also, as I said in my original post, the machine works ok with a boot drive from my work macbook pro. Just trying to eliminate all possible causes before taking it in somewhere to be looked at by a technician.

  • Apple logo with spinning wheel in Mac OS X 10.8.5

I have a 15 inch MacBook Pro with 4GB ram and 2.4 GHz Intel i5 and OS X 10.8.5 and everytime i boot up it gives an apple logo with the spinning wheel, after 3 or 4 boot try, it actualy boots normaly to mac os x normaly. I already repaired the permissions, reseted the PRAM, and still no use.
I often use heavy programs like Final Cut Pro 7 (.0.3), Firefox, EyeTV, and Soundtrack Pro.

I already done this way and still no due
here's a list of things i've already done:
    - Reset the PRAM
    - Uninstalled some programs i didn't use, like the older versions of iLife, iWork and MS Office for Mac
    - Repaired permissions
    - Uninstalled most third-party content i didnt use, like the black barry files.
I also did a full backup and a full reinstall of the OS and software I used most such as the latest version of Adobe's CS6, and Sun Office suite and the MS Office for Mac, and the Final Cut Pro X suite and Final Cut Pro 7 suite.
