Broken CS 5.5 Design Standard Disc & Direct Link Install isn't working

My Creative Suite 5.5 Design Standard disc isn't working and from my prior contact with Adobe, I was given the following links to help me install the program:
http://prodesigntools.com/trials2/AdobeProducts/DSGN/CS5_5/win32/DesignStandard_CS5_5_LS1. exe
http://prodesigntools.com/trials2/AdobeProducts/MDIA/CS5_5/win32/DesignPremium_CS5_5_LS1.7 z
The files from the aformentioned links have completed downloading in the same folder (multiple times from multiple attempts) and I cannot get the program to install.  I am receiving the following error message:
"The file archive part of Adobe CS5.5 Design Standard is missing.  You need all parts in the same folder in order to extract Adobe CS5.5 Design Standard.  Please download all parts."
As I have made multiple attempts, (and the .7z link no longer works - Access Denied) all I can reason is that perhaps I was incorrectly given the "Design Premium" link rather than the appropriate "Design Standard" link.  Otherwise, I cannot figure out what I need to do differently to get this install to begin.  Any ideas?
Thank you in advance for your help.

those links are incorrect.  one is for design standard and one is for design premium.  they both must match, premium or standard depending on which you want.
in either case, if you follow all 7 steps you can directly download a trial here:  http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs5-5-direct-download-links.html
and activate with your serial number.
if you have a problem downloading, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com

Download the installer from Adobe Download CS6 products
Install then enter your serial number.

  • CS5 Design Standard discs/images

I purchased this last summer, and I have my confirmation and serial in hand, but I can't find the discs. I thought I could just download it, but it's not available here anymore. I spoke with customer service, and they suggested I post to the forums and ask for help. Seems a bit weird, but here I am.
I bought it as a student from journeyed.com, so it's not showing up in my account under previous orders.
Anyone know how I can go about just getting discs or images? Design Standard CS5. I have the CS5 Premium as well, but I can't use it with this serial.
    Thanks.

Yeah, when I called, the rep's first suggestion was that I upgrade...pretty sad. 5 to 5.5 is a point release, not a major upgrade. It's still v5. You CAN help me, but you're choosing not to. You can't tell me you've destroyed all copies of every version prior to 5.5.
I shouldn't have lost the discs, so it's my own fault, but comapnies with any sort of integrity will stand behind their paying customers. It'd be one thing if you didn't offer your software as a downloadable product, but you do, including the version that I paid for and now need. You even say I'm free to use it if I find it. You'd really send me off into the web rather than help? Would giving me a link be such a burden?
So, I guess my only choice is to turn to the public and see what's available, and hope I don't wind up installing something that's been tampered with. In the end, I'll thank someone who had nothing to gain (other than the satisfaction of doing a good deed) by helping a fellow user in a jam...since adobe was "incapable".
Your customers do a better job of supporting your product than your own company does.

  • CS 6 Design Standard-Acrobat won't install

Just installed CS6 Design Standard from disc to my Mac. Education Edition. Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator all installed OK, but Acrobat Pro did not, despite checking the box at the start of the install.
Installed the trial while waiting for serial number, and Acrobat wouldn't install then either. Had a free trial which expired some time back.
    Any ideas?

The trial is a newer version of Acrobat than in the old CS6 package, and if you didn't delete it it has probably caused all sorts of problems. Try deleting Acrobat XI and trying again.

  • Design Standard CS 5.5 serial number not working for Photoshop

I am trying to install the Design Standard CS 5.5 but am having trouble with Photoshop.  All of the programs installed and open correctly except for Photoshop.  When I try to launch it, the Adobe Application Manager comes up saying that the serial number is "not valid for this product."  The serial seemed to work during the install and both InDesign and Illustrator launch without any problems.  I have also tryed uninstalling and then reinstalling Photoshop, but I still have the same problem.  I am running Mac OS X 10.6.8.

Are you definitely installing Design Premium CS5, not a similar sounding Creative Suite? And not CS5.5?

  • Why won't my CS 5.5 Design Standard disc load so I can get the install instructions?

I recently had to take my computer back to the out of the box state. I now am trying to put CS 5.5 back on it with the disc. I put the disc in and it makes noise but nothing ever comes up with a screen prompt to run the disc. How do I get this back on my computer? I run windows 7. Thank you fro all help... Am frustrated because I just put lightroom in and it went smooth!

Thank you that works just fine. I am not sure what is goin on with this this time. Went so smooth the first time. Thank you for all of your help!

  • Where can I download the Creative Suite 6 Design Standard Student Teacher Version install packages?

I have a serial number and downloaded the normal install packages for CS6. Using my serial number failed. I wonder if this is because I only have a serial number for an educational version.

Serial number failures have nothing to do with edu vs. commercial packages. Once you have the serial number from your redemption code, the technical prerequisites are the same. At best you may have downloaded an installer that is for a different region and uses a different serial number range, but that's a different matter entirely. Either way, contact serial number support via web chat to sort out the issue.

  • Direct download .dmg isn't working

trying to install a muse trial with much difficulty. i'm on mac os 10.7.5, first using chrome, and now firefox. the standard download gives me a "installer file is damaged" error. i tried a direct download, which gave me the file "Muse_3_2_CCM_LS19.dmg". i launch that, which gives me an "adobe muse CCM" folder. inside there is an "adobe muse" folder containing "deploy" and "payloads" folders, but no executable.
any ideas what's going on here? thanks!

i downloaded the file from the address you provided. i clicked on the .dmg file and it gave me the installer window with the file "install adobe muse". a few seconds into it, i get an error that says
"sorry, an error has occurred. the application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. try obtaining a new installer file from the application author."
this is what i described above when i mentioned the problems with the standard download procedure. that's when i tried the direct download which is what gives me that CCM folder.
    thanks for trying...

  • Need to download design standard student cs5

I am changing computers and need to download cs5 design standard student edition as i no longer have the discs.  i tried the regular design standard, but the serial numbers didn't work with that version, and I can't find a student version to download on the site...

Normally, the only thing that differentiates a student version from a commercial version is the serial number that is used.  The software is exactly the same.
The only downloads available for CS5 products from the Adobe site are available thru the following page...
    CS5 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-product-downloads.html
You can also download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.

  • Adobe CS6 Design Standard Education stopped working

I own CS6 Design Standard for education.  It used to work.  Now it opens the Adobe Application Manager and asks me to renew my cloud membership.  I don't have a cloud membership.  I don't want a cloud membership.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled with my approved serial number and was told it was successful.  How do I get my software to work again?

uninstall your cs6 and any cc software.
run the cleaner for both cs6 and cc, http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
then use the cs6 (non-cc) installers.

  • Cannot install Photoshop CS4 from Design Standard Educational

I just purchased the educational version of Adobe CS4 Design Standard and had no problem installing everything but Photoshop CS4 (which is what I really need)!  It does not show up on the installation menu when I run startup, but it seems to be on the install DVD in a couple of .dmg packages. I currently have photshop elements 6 for Mac installed, and I previously had the Photoshop CS4 ext trial with LightRoom 2 installed, but removed them from my system once the trial was over. Why isn't Photoshop CS4 installing and how can I fix it? Do I need to reinstall the trial software and then try and activate the serial number? Is the install DVD disk bad?
I had a look through the forums here and don't seem to have any of the same issues.  I have three disks in the package, 1-Applications, 2-Content, and 3-Learning.
I can see the .dmg files for Photoshop on the 1-Applications disk, but am not sure if I expand them will they install Photoshop properly.  I managed to install InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat 9 with the assorted pieces without any problems, and still have about 100GB of space left on the drive.
I'm installing it on my MacBook Pro, with 250GB HD, and 4GB of RAM with the 512MB video card.  I previously ran the trial version on the machine without any issues, so I am assuming that there are no problems with the minimum requirements to run the software.  The one issue I am thinking that might be affecting it is that I do have Safari 4 on my machine...
    Any ideas?

That did the trick.  I think I removed the old trial version by just dragging it into the trash and not using the uninstall function.  Adobe customer service really sucks as well.  I submitted a ticket to them about this and they cancelled it as the registration for CS4 Design Standard wasn't listed in the drop down menu when sent it in, despite it being registered.  Obviously Customer Service people who can't read!!
Just goes to show that this forum is a better trouble-shooting environment!  The only funny thing with using the clean tool, is that I had to completely remove all programs installed with Design Standard and then re-install everything.  Very clunky.  They should get some more people from Apple to design the Adobe installation/uninstallation process...

  • Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Design Standard installer not listing InDesign as an option.

I uninstalled InDesign CS5.5 from Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Design Standard to try get Adobe Content Viewer working. But now there is no way to re-install from the from the Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Design Standard Installer. It only lists my remaining products: PS, Ai and Acrobat X. How can I re-install?

    On Mac 10.7.5.
In Utilities/Adobe Installers/ I used the "Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Design Standard". I unchecked InDesign to uninstall with the intent of re-installing later. The screen for the installer now looks like this: As you can see, there are no re-install options.
