Broken iMac with Music/Video
My friend has an iMac G5, just like mine, and his logic board has broken. He has many songs and videos downloaded onto it, usually from either torrents or limewire. he is scared that Apple(he has applecare) will arrest him for this. I am telling him that he would probably not get in trouble(I am guessing due to Unlawful search and seizure???)
Who is right?
No one is going to arrest your friend or examine what is on his computer. However, if he has a bad conscience, tell him to erase the songs and videos and acquire them legally through iTunes.

Look in Activity Monitor (Applications - Utilities - Activity Monitor) and see if you have any runaway processes using a lot of %CPU.
I would also strongly recommend running Apple Hardware Test in Extended Mode. If it reports errors you can Google them or post them here. -
No audio with music videos or movie previews in iTunes
Does anyone know of a fix for the (apparently well-known) no audio with music videos, movie trailers, TV shows, etc?
Running the latest version of both iTunes and QT on my Dell with Windows XP, but all I get is very choppy sound. Sometimes, no sound at all.
Regular music, however, plays fine (both bought and previewed).

I bought an album that also came with music videos. All the songs downloaded properly, but none of the videos. Next to them it said Stopped-Error 3150, I tried to restart the downloads and now most just say Stopped, some say Stopped-Error 8003, which means Network issues, but after checking, I found there are no issues with my network. Help?
I am having this same problem with my brand new Mac Pro. It seems to be tied to the computer awaking from sleep (no I am not leaving the iPod connected while sleep... I am referring to waking the computer from sleep and then connecting iPod as opposed to restarting the computer and then connecting the iPod). In other words, if you are getting this error message, try ejecting the iPod, restart your computer, then connect the iPod and see if the error message goes away. For me it does, but I only get one shot at it, if I eject the iPod and then reconnect it, the error message returns. This happens on both iPods I have. I have rebooted (hold menu-select) and gone to disc mode (hold select-play) and the error message remains. The only way it goes away is to reboot the computer, then I get one shot at hooking up an iPod.
I NEVER had nor get this error message when I connect to the Windows PC that I started with. Perhaps the iPod does not like moving from PC to Mac? -
Using Visualizer with Music Videos
I want to shuffle music files with music video files and display them thru a projector. I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to have iTunes use the visualizer for the music files but display the music video when it is q'd up.
Anyone know if this is possible and if so what preferences, etc. need to be set in iTunes. Thanks in advance for the response!
Using iTunes 8.0.2.I have the exact same problem. Plus, I can't play them continuosly neither... Have to select them one by one through the remote. That's very annoying! I hope Apple fix it a.s.a.p.

ITunes having issues with music videos
I recently bought an album with some music videos in it and iTunes is having some issues playing them correctly. The audio is not in sync with the video. Seconly, the audio does not sound correct, it is making a skipping sound as if the audio is from a CD that has a scratch on it.
I know that this issue is with how iTunes is playing it back, because when I play it in another video program it works fine.
Just in case it will help, I am running iTunes 11.1.3.8Are the videos the right kind of files to play in itunes? If not they need to be converted.
Not sure if I am allowed to mention the software needed to convert so you may have to use google to find that. -
Need help with music videos and audio cd's
ok, ive already asked, and for some reason, nobody responded. and i posted the question TWO days ago. so again, there is a song that i want to buy, but there is a music video of it that i could buy and the music video has an extra verse on it that i really like but itunes doesnt sell the video version as a normal mp3. and i want to know, before i waste my money, if i buy the music video and put it on an audio cd, will the cd player play the audio of the music video? somebody please help. thank you very much to whoever helps me with this.

No.
If the music video is not copy-protected (if it doesn't have the "+" symbol next to the price, it's copy protected), then you may be able to use QuickTime Pro or another editor to extract and convert the audio track from the video. There also may be Windows programs that could capture the audio output of iTunes; there are such programs for Macs and I'd guess that similar programs exist in Windows.
I'd suggest, though, that you first check with the other download stores such as Amazon and see if they have the track available as an audio-only download. -

Change the music videos Media Type to Music from under the videos Options tab of the Get Info window in iTunes.

I've just bought an 80gb iPod and need help with music videos.....
...I've downloaded a music video which iTunes has put in my library under Music when I thought it would be under Movies. I can't move it to Movies, it won't let me. I can only transfer it to my iPod as a music file. How do get to watch it on my iPod?

AndyI suggest copying your entire iTunes library to your new computer, also you might want to copy the photos you want to save. Then sync your device to the new iTunes and copy over your music, documents and photos that you want.
If you are no longer going to use the old computer you should open up iTunes on the old computer and use the menu to deauthorize it. Be sure to use the same iTunes menu on your new computer to Authorize the new one. -
When I first got my 30 gig, 5G iPod a few days ago, my music videos I downloaded worked fine. However, yesterday when I went to play one, it just played like a regular song, and I haven't been able to play the video. Anyone know what's up?
Well, if you didn't back them up somehow, then no, there is no way to get them back.
If they are all not on your iPod. There is no way.
Apple will not give you or allow you to re-download lost songs/videos for free.

I cannot find my music, videos or pictures after downloading latest update....Usage indicates that space is used for them. I lost an entire folder after the update.

Can someone check if they also have this problem with music videos?
I have converted a 1 hour music DVD using Videora and it plays fine as a movie. I only want to listen to it so in order to not have to have the screen on I changed the type to 'music video' using Get Info and specified artist and album names. This displays the DVD in the Music menu as well as the Music video menu.
When I play it from the music video menu it is ok but from the music menu I get regular pauses of about 1-2 seconds every 3 - 4 minutes when playing it.
I have tried different DVD's and also different dvd to ipod software.
I would appreciate someone else letting me know if they have this problem.

I guess the iPod uses a different process (or cashing) for videos played from the music menu to when they are played from the Video menu. -
Kernel Panic on iMac with Pixelated Video Issues
One of our work iMacs has been having weird pixelate video issues recently. Sometimes previews of program windows will freeze on screen... and as you move the window around the screen "erases" this preview from the LCD... It is a 2006 24" White iMac 6,1. 27-sep-2011 11:53 (in response to jose guzman) Launch the Apple Hardware Test program, run the extended tests at least twice, and then download and run Rember. All indications are that you have bad or flaky RAM.

24" 2008 iMac with busted video card, advice needed.
I have a 2008 24" iMac in which the video card is busted. The machine will turn on, get to the log in screen with no issues, however there is absolutely no video output to the screen.
I have attempted connecting it to an external monitor using mini DVI to VGA and a VGA cable, but the machine is not set to display to an external monitor.
Having the video card replaced will cost in the region of €300, an amount I'm reluctant to spend on a machine which is seven years old.
I have it backed up, so I'm really looking for advice to to how to wipe it so I can sell it on for parts, or other suggestions...Your welcome, your new iMac likely does not have a Firewire port so you will need a Thunderbolt to Firewire adapter like:
