on burning a DVD. Decreased velocity down to 1x, though the machine disturbes one DVD and another DVD and another; 36% of size were burnt.

Not understanding isn't really unbelievable ...
After you burn these (20) images are you making sure the burn image file is deleted fully ?
If it's doing this with internal and external drives then it sounds like software is the issue. Try doing a Parameter RAM reset - hold down command/option/p/r keys at start up and wait for three chimes before releasing the keys.

Since the MacBook Pro currently works, you should put it next to the iMac and compare the network settings for AirPort in System Preferences Network pane Advanced. Also, if you want to start off with the default network settings, you can use Location drop down menu and select +Edit Locations+. Then click the plus sign to create a new location. Set up that new location.
On System Preferences Network pane, AirPort should appear at the top of the list (in the sidebar). To change the service order, click on the gear icon and select +Set Service Order+.
Some additional tests you can try, on top of seeing if it works with (1) WEP security disabled and (2) a direct wired connection to the router.
If you get it to work with either (1) or (2), be sure to run Software Update at least two times to apply any recent updates from Apple. See if that makes any difference to using AirPort with WEP back on.
(3) Start up in Safe Mode

I don't know if any third-party software has been installed on the iMac at this point, but Safe Mode will start up with only the essential Apple extensions and processes running. See if it works any better in Safe Mode.
(4) Create a new admin user account in System Preferences Accounts pane

Log out and log in to the new account. Try connecting with AirPort in the new account.
(5) Connect the MacBook Pro to the router with a wired Ethernet connection. Make sure its Internet access works. On System Preferences Sharing pane, set it up for +Internet Sharing+ so that it is set to +Share your connection from Ethernet - To computers using AirPort+. On the iMac, try to connect to that wireless network and access the Internet.
That last one (5) may be a good one to try first. It would at least show that the iMac's AirPort is working - you can even set it up to use WEP. If you have any questions about using the +Internal Sharing+ feature, please ask.

OS 10.4.6. has broken dialup connectivity when using fast user switching

I installed OS 10.4.6. It seems to have broken dialup connectivity when using fast user switching when switching from one user to the next.
For dialup, it is extreamly annoying that I can not resume downloading a file from were it got cut off, but now, if another user wants to check their email, my download always gets broken and has to be restarted. Dialup is slow enough with out having to start from scratch even more frequently, now.
Also, in earlier versions of 10.2 or 10.3 (I don't remember which), I was able to switch users and maintain listening to a single users' iTunes.
I would like to be able to switch users and not lose either my dialup network connection or the primary users currently playing iTunes songs.
Perhaps for iTunes, one should be able to chose to mute another users' instance of iTunes, if it is currently playing.

I have not tried replicating this but might be able to provide some additional information.
We use network login accounts on our desktop computers. Fast User switching deliberately will not work for multiple network login accounts. (Remember network login accounts normally also have an associated network home directory mounted via AFP.)
Now a bit of background about volumes and mount points under Mac OS X. Under Mac OS X, any additional drive (or more accurately 'volume') is listed under the 'Volumes' folder, remember also that Mac OS X is a Unix operating system. So just as normal for Unix, the boot drive is '/' or the root level and Volumes is a folder in it. The underlying Mac OS X software automatically 'attaches' and additional volumes as sub-folders in the 'Volumes' folder (in Unix speak these are called 'Mount Points'), if you have an external hard-disc called 'Fred' then this would be represented by the following path
/Volumes/Fred
If you happen to have two volumes with the same name connected at the same time then while in the Finder they may show up with the same name, in Unix they would have different names automatically assigned to keep them separate like so
/Volumes/Fred
/Volumes/Fred 1
Now getting back to the Fast User switching problem and AFP volumes, when you login to a File Server volume it also is automatically added to the Volumes folder, so if we have a File Server volume called 'Shared' it would look like
/Volumes/Shared
With Fast User switching potentially both user accounts could be accessing the same /Volumes/Shared which means both user accounts would be talking to the server via the same File Server login, hence the possibility for one of the Fast User accounts to be using the 'wrong' permissions.

Internal connections is basically the connection between you CI and you DI's and viceversa... this connections are automatically generated when the instaces are installed.
I wonder why you want to set one up manually.

The only way to get this information is through API calls. If you have a Server (oracle.toplink.threetier) you can ask the read and default (write) connection pools.

JDeveloper 9.0.3 issue - jbo.server.internal-connection

Hello JDev-Team,
there seems to be an issue with the jbo.server.internal-connection property in JDev 9.0.3 preview.
I generated a project with a simple bc4j package containing a ProjectView for the PROJECT Table of the petstore shema and an app module containing this view object. In the local config for this app module is not set. Then I build a second project with a BC4J browse jsp for that view object and run this jsp in jdev. Then I got the following exception page:

Error Message: JBO-30003: The application pool (petstore_jsp.CatalogModule) failed to checkout an application module due to the following exception:
Error Message: JBO-28033: Could not retrieve row from table PS_TXN, collection id 27, persistent id -1
Afterwards PCOLL_CONTROL is crated, but neither PS_TXN nor PS_TXN_seq.
I can workaround the problem by setting jbo.server.internal-connection to jdbc:oracle:driver:estoreuser/estore@hostname:1521:sid. Will this be fixed in the final release?

A similar issue was reported and fixed in 9.0.3 since the preview release. The issue is that if you attempt to activate a
snapshot state in a schema which does not contain the PS_TXN table (and its related objects) then the
exception could occur. This will happen in the following scenario:
1. In browser 1, DB user 1 passivates an ApplicationModule state. The state identifier is stored in a browser cookie
(jbo.dofailover is true)
2. In browser 1, DB user 2 requests an ApplicationModule. BC4J detects the cookie written by DB user 1 to the
browser and attempts to activate DB user 1 state. DB user 2 has never passivated state before so the
PS_TXN database objects do not exist. The exception above is thrown.
In order to be sure that your issue is the same could you please post a complete stack trace?
As you have noted the workaround is to use a shared PS_TXN table (by specifying the internal connection property).

Dynamic Internal Connection

Is it possible to set the jbo.server.internal_connection dynamically for a project. I have an application that can connect to 3 different databases so depending on which one they choose I want to point the internal connection to a JNDI source on that server. I currently do something similar for the standard connection using a DynamicEnvInfoProvider which implements EnvInfoProvider

I ended up just giving create table/index/sequence to the 3 app accounts on each database instead of having one single account to go through which would have been ideal.

RFC - Internal connections

Hello All,
In transacition SM59 we can see INTERNAL CONNECTIONS FOLDER.
With in this we can observe BACK, NONE, NONE_NU and the last 1 will be the same APPLICATION SERVER NAME.
If we see into the configuration of NONE and NONE_NU we dont see any GATEWAY HOST or TARGET HOST specified, but still when we click on CONNECTION TEST it will be successful.
HOW DOES THIS WORK, with out specifying any information about target system,.
please explain or provide any docs or links where i can find answer.

Internal connection of USB 500gb canvio E05A050CAU3XS

Hi there!
Can someone tell me the specific name of the used hard disk inside the case E05A050CAU3XS?
It should be listed in the device manager. I need to know if the internal connection is sata standard or something special.
Or does someone know if Toshiba generally uses hard disk with sata standard or do they use another connection for their external drives?

HT204380 Unable to message during video chat since new iOS update. International connection isn't always great and needed to message during video chat but am no longer able to. Any hints.

SSince updating iOS I cannot message during video call on FaceTime. While calling internationally the connection stinks and I would rely on messaging until the audio would work again. Did this option get eliminated or do I need to take another step to use it. It was simply tapping the chat box at the top of the screen previously. Thanks for any assistance.

This Log states Error 8 (Near the top)
Error 8 is a bit of a catch all for everything that ichat can't label to some other cause.
All the way though the Log sticks with port 16402 (Good) and does not vary (it is actually supposed to try a random port).
The CSeq (Call Sequence) never gets beyond INVITE
In fact this si the SIP invite that is Behind the Scenes after the Buddy Accepts the Visible Invite part.
Specifically the second line here is supposed to move on to read "TRYING", "RINGING" and "OK"

Are both ends using UPnP in their routing device ?
If you have an Apple Base Station of any sort then this has Port Mapping Protocol that needs to be Enabled.
The log looks like a router was using Port Forwarding (The listing or Port pointing at one IP (Computer) ) and that the IP of the computer has changed.

Where/how to troubleshoot external gateway and internal connection brokers etc.??????

We have gateway.domain.org as our external/internal gateway server.
It goes from gateway.domain.org to rdbroker.domain.local, rdbroker is the DNS address for two connection broker servers.
After this it should set up the connection and create a remote desktop to one of the RDS host servers in the RDS host farm.
Sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't -- for different user accounts and different computers.
How to troubleshoot this??
We know the firewall rules for DMZ etc. etc. are properly configured because everything IS observed to work, just not all the time consistently. We get errors about cannot contact the computer, cannot establish remote desktop connection...

Firstly, you need to recheck the DNS entry is well setup for your case. Are you using DNS RR for Load balancing the server or 3rd party load balancer? Have you setup the proper certificate for your case?
Please check whether required ports is opened? We need to open TCP port 443 and UDP port 3391 and forward them to your RD Gateway server. Also need to specify the external FQDN of your RD Gateway server in deployment properties under RDS server manager. If
you have RDWeb and RDG on the same server this would be the same FQDN that your users will use for RDWeb. Please see whether you have properly configured RD RAP and RD CAP policy.

Broken internal antenna!

Hi all! First time I post here :P
It's like this. I broke my internal antenna on my PowerBook G4 12" when I was going to check which airport card I had. I'm kind of.. violence of myself but anyway. I was going to check which card I had and the antenna.. Popped of the card. Or atleast I think it is the antenna.
Well, it broke and now I CAN still found the card, but no connections (:P). Am I able to reconnect the cable in some way? Because there is some metallic thing sticking out from the card and the cable is.. Loose, and it's now harder to shut that little door to the card. Well.. I think that's all I can say for now.

You have one of 2 choices you can either take it to an Apple store or contact Applecare, if you have it.
Or if you want to attempt it, look at the link and you will see you can unplug the connecter to the card and twist the cable and insert it and either crimp it or solder it and then re attach it.

Internal Connection Server

For Internal ONLY connection servers, do you need to have use secure tunnel connection to desktop or use PCoIP secure gateway options checked?

Yes they're primarily for security (they will only let traffic through for authenticated users) and for cases where direct access is not possible, such as if the environment is firewalled off or behind a NAT. It's fairly common to only enable them for external access and leave disabled for internal clients.

Should we use same datasource for Internal connection and Save Point ?

AM configuration has an internal db connection setting, adf-config.xml also has an db connection setting for Save Point, should we all set to the same database source of the system or should we create a seperate datasource which is used only for AM internal db connection and Save Point?
