Broken Ipad 2 screen

Hey guys, I own the ipad 2, and I know I am out of warrenty, but the thing is that my ipad screen is broken. The screen will occasionally flash to what it originally looked like, then it will turn black again. I have tried turning it on and off and resetting it. I know it has something to do with the screen because in one of my fail attempts to turn off the ipad, I accidently took a screenshot and I heard the "snap" sound. I really need some help...and would greatly appreciate it if you guys gave me some advice. Thanks

  • About broken ipad screen

My ipad screen got broken, but theres not much of a problem becouse its only small spot in the corner and im wondering is it necesery to change this glass? can broken glass become wider ?

I have heard of people just sticking on a screen protector and continuing to use it.  If you can bear doing that, what can it hurt?  If the cracks do grow, you'll have to replace the screen on your own dime, but that's what you'd have to do right now to fix it.  So it wouldn't change anything to wait and see what happens.

  • Can a broken Ipad screen be fixed?

I just dropped my Ipad and cracked the screen. Can this be fixed or did I really, really blow it!?
    Thanks, Maria

You can take you iPad to an Apple Store & they will provide a replacement iPad. The cost will be about 1/2 the cost of a new iPad.
There are some 3rd party repair places that will cost less, however, your Apple warranty will be voided.

  • Broken iPad screen replaced?

    hi...i bought an iPad 2 , 2 years ago..
until yesterday there was never a problem with it but unfortunately i dropt it and now the whole screen is cracked.
it still works perfectly even when i tap on the cracked parts it still reacts to every single touch!
I am willing to take it to an Apple store to fix it but my question is, is it possible to be replaced and if yes how much will it cost me ?

The standard 1-year Apple Care warranty only covers defects in materials and workmanship, not damage due to accidents.

  • Please help me to repair my broken IPAD screen I just bought it two months back while my wife is cleaning around something has fallen down on the screen which damage the front side however, everything is working fine including app, wifi?

BTW , I live in Saudi Arabia

Sorry, but I cannot tell you what the "best" option would be. You can take the iPad to an authorized Apple service provider and have the iPad replaced. Unless you purchased AppleCare+ for the iPad (I don't know if that plan is offered in the KSA) then you will have to pay Apple's out-of-warranty exchange price. You can search for an authorized service center through this web page:
    http://www.apple.com/uk/buy/locator/
There are independent iPad repair services that may be able to replace the screen for less. Do a web search for "ipad repair".  Note, though, that if you elect to have the iPad serviced by an unauthorized shop, all further warranty will be void. It is also possible to find parts and do a repair yourself, though you do so completely at your own risk.
It will be up to you to decide which option is best for you.
    Regards.

Further on Option 3, this can often be a good choice for older iPads, iPads out of warranty, or if you are looking for a cheaper option than Apple is offering.
Many communities have local repair shops who can fix broken iPad screens.  Try Yelp or another local search tool.
You can also try a variety of National Mail In repair companies who specialize in iPad Repair such as RepairZoom:  http://www.repairzoom.com/ipad-repair.html
Always check online reviews and BBB ratings before sending your iPad off for repair!

My iPad is not eligible for warranty service. What are my service options?
Apple offers two service options for iPads that are not eligible for warranty service.

I have broken the screen on my ipad it is a retina display but it still works i would like to exchange

What country are you in ? The price for repair (i.e. replacement) for the iPad 3 and 4 appears to be around the €300 mark
If you select your country at the top of this page, then select the 'Warranty & Service Pricing' section on the left of the screen, and then 'My iPad is not eligible for warranty service' section on the right, you should be able to see the price in your country.

  • Ipad screen broken. HELP!

Hi, my ipad screen broke this morning. It's hasn't cracked, and has always been fine before, but this morning it just went off, then when I pressed the lock button the screen light up slightly, but not the way it should have, sort of a grey colour. After a few taps and tricks on the screen it light up, but it was really fuzzy, a mixture of white, pink and other colours. I can faintly see my background (the apple logo), but after a few seconds it just goes off again. I've looked through some forums but haven't found an answer. I want to try and keep away from the 'go and get it fixed at a shop' route. As all the do is over charge people. Any help is welcomed. Thank you!

You're down to getting it fixed. It sounds like something is physically broken inside.
If your device is still under warranty they MIGHT consider it a manufacturer's defect. If they do, then they'll replace it with a refurbished replacement. If they consider it accidental damage, they might offer you the option of an out of warranty replacement. Which starts at 249 and goes up (if your device is a 64 gig one, it will be more expensive than 249)
You can try unauthorized repair places. If you use them, they might be cheaper, but it's use at your own risk and you will void your warranty (course, if it's expired, doesn't matter)

  • Broken ipad 2 screen, 3months old, will Apple uk replace?

Hi Guys, my 6 year old dropped our ipad 2 onto a tiled floor & shattered the screen, the ipad is still working, and i have an appointment at the local Apple genius bar Sunday, i think i may have to pay £246 for the repair, so wondered if any of you good people had any suggestions on how to blag a free repair, i will be taking my son along, and beleive me he will be crying! (we have been practising all week)

    Update on broken ipad 2.......................
i know your all dying to know what happened!!!!
popped along to the Apple store on sunday with my son (no he didn't cry ,) i think he found his utopia,Apple store with its array of shiny ipads, ipods and Macs.We was met by one of the staff, he was very helpful, explained the two options, either claim on the house hold insurance & pay the excess or pay Apple £240 to replace the ipad. we went for the second option and agreed to pay Apple.
at that point he explained how sorry he was for the unfortunate accident & gave us a 10% discount (of which i will invest in acting lessons for my child ) A JOKE!!!!
A protective case is now on my shopping list, with new rules in our house hold, If the ipad is to be use by my son he can only use it from the comfort of the non tiled very soft sofa.
and they all lived happily ever after
    the end
