Something weird has happened to my itunes. I was running it this morning and it worked fine. once my instructor gave me some quicktime codecs for AVID, itunes would not open. Every time i try to open itunes, the program doesn't even run. when i click on the itunes icon i keep getting an error message. I've uninstalled then reinstalled itunes, rebooted my macbook pro at least 4 times. all to no avail. This is extremely frustrating and i can't seem to figure this out. Please help me!!!!

Broken iTunes LP

When I originally purchased Underoath's Disambiguation (Deluxe Edition) the LP that came with it worked just fine. Now, however, it's completely broken. None of the text appears. All of the links are still there, but without any of the text viewable I can't tell what is what. I was able to get the album and LP redownloaded through contacting iTunes support, but that didn't resolve the problem. Could the issue be with either the latest version of iTunes or even Lion? Those the only two variables that I have not been able to rule out.

iTunes LPs are only designed to be used within iTunes, not on an iPod or iOS device.
Try deleting the iTunes LP entry but keep the file(s) when prompted, then drag the file ...\<Artist>\<Album>\<Album> - iTunes LP.itlp\<Album> - iTunes LP.itlp back into iTunes.
This should fix things. If not use the report a problem links from your account history and explain the problem.

Broken iTunes Store Link!!!

I purchased a song, but the iTunes Store link is broken, so everytime I start iTunes, it tried to download that song, and I get an error message. Its driving me crazy, because it prevents me from starting iTunes through Front Row! I always have to go back to the error message and click ok!!!! How can I stop this? I dont care about the $0.99 at this point...

How to debug/fix broken iTunes WiFi Sync to iPad/iPhone?

I've had nothing but trouble with iTunes WiFi sync to my iPad and iPhone. Basically, the devices simply randomly fail to appear in iTunes. When they appear, I can sync just fine; but WHEN they appear seems to be more related to astrology than computer science.
-- OS X 10.8.4 on latest MacBook Pro, VERY clean install (no odd "tinker" type apps that might mess things up)
-- iTunes 11.0.5
-- Latest iOS on iPad and iPhone
-- Clean WiFi network with Airport Extreme (latest) access point
All other WiFi works perfectly .. Internet, printers (AirPrint), AirPlay, Apple TV, etc etc. Never had a single problem.
But iTunes WiFi sync is a complete mess. About 50% of the time when I start iTunes the devices dont show up at all. Closing and opening iTunes sometimes makes the devices appear, sometimes not. As I type this, my iPhone does appear (and is doing a WiFi sync), while my iPad, sitting next to me on my desk, is totally missing from iTunes, even though it is clearly (a) on, (b) connected to the network (I just browed a web site to be sure) and (c) connected to a charger.
I've been testing and experimenting with iTunes WiFi sync for two years now, and basically I think it's a disaster, and clearly one of Apple's weakest efforts to date. It's fragile, temperamental, and nearly unusable. I've spent hours on Google looking at others experiences, fixes etc, and none have worked. Considering stuff like AirPlay and AirPrint work perfectly, I think something is basically broken in the iTunes WiFi sync stack. I'm assuming Bonjour is used for finding the devices and if iTunes can find my Apple TV at once (it ALWAYS does), why can't it find my iPad (or vice versa?).
If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be interested to hear them. Note that I've 30 years of computer architecture under my belt, so I do know just a *little* about what is going on here, but any and all suggestions accepted.

Hi How do I repair a broken desktop link on a windows XP laptop. When i click on it nothing happens. I have been into the C drive itunes program and tried from there but still wont work. What do I do?

Try deleting the link from your desktop and then re-installing itunes.

Broken itunes backup

WHen i was updating to ios 7.0.3 my pc blue-screen-death-turned-off. Next i had to chkdsk my system partition, after that last backup made just before updating ios was broken, so it's not visible in list, but i can see it in "c:\Users\msi\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\". There is no *.plist files in it, but there is still my photos, video etc.My iphone hardreseted, and finished updating, but when i press "recover from last backup" in phone nothing happend, so i press another option, something like "register as new", and it restored all installed apps, but their saved data (saved games, or downloaded files etc.) was lost.
Is there any way, at least to get away my photos/videos, or better to recover my phone ?

ive taken several ipods apart and replaced various parts without the loss of data so I'd say the only way your gonna get that thing backed up is to change that digitizer. then you can do the backup up. you need to be carefull and gentle with those connectors. it gets tricky sometimes but it will go back together.

I have two itunes cards that I can't redeem because the barcodes came off when I ripped the stickers off. I am not sure what I do about this? Any help would be great.

Broken iTunes Update

I have two Mac mini servers and the iTunes 10.1 update failed to install properly through the Server Updates tool in Server Admin for both servers. I installed the updates manually but I cannot clear the status messages in Server Admin.
It shows installation in progress and status unknown for this update on both servers. There is probably a temporary file either on the servers or on my Mac somewhere that needs to be deleted to remove the stuck status messages from Server Admin, but I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone have any idea where the update status info is stored for the server updates (not the software update service)?

That's a good alternative if you already have ARD, but at $300~$500 depending on the license, I'd rather deal with it the way I described. Between the shell and the remote server tools that are included with OS X server, or just connecting a keyboard and monitor to the server if you have physical access to it, most problems can be resolved without additional expense.

Broken iTunes User Interface

When I use iTunes, all I can see are the section headings and track names. There is no background, so it makes it incredibly difficult to do anything in it. The problem first occurred in iTunes 7, and carried on to 8 despite working origonally. . I've tried reinstalling iTunes several times, but this did not work. Any help is appreciated.

If you are using any plug-ins, iTunes now has a safe mode to check if they are causing trouble:

Today's iTunes update has broken iTunes on Windows Server 2008 (64 Bit)

After today's update, iTunes crashes 100% of the time upon launching.
"iTunes has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." is all the info the error window gives. Uninstalled and re-installed 3 times, with exact same results

I updated QuickTime Player. No change in iTunes crashing at launch. If I choose "debug", it brings up the Visual Studios Just-in-time debugger, with a message: "An unhandled Win32 exception occurred in iTunes.exe [4748]

Broken iTunes Installation (Beta Version)

My hard drive recently corrupted and I had to erase it and reinstall Mavericks. Perviously I had the new seed program's beta version installed (10.9.3), along with the most recent iTunes beta (11.1.6). After the fresh install of Mavericks I had all my files transfered over from my Time Machine backup during the OS Setup Process. Now the copy of iTunes is corrupted and will not open. I get an error everytime I start it, and the icon in the dock is just a filler app image from the OS instead of the real one. This same problem happened to iPhoto, where the app itself was missing while the icon was there. To fix it I just re-installed it from the Mac App Store. Unfortunately I cannot just reinstall iTunes because the only available version to the public (non-developers) is 11.1.5 and it will not let me install a version older than what I have installed now. Because I am not a developer I cannot access the beta iTunes standalone installer to fix this. Is there another way to fix the problem or a way to get the installer?

“iTunes” can’t be modified or deleted because it’s required by OS X.
Is there a way around this?

There was a notice at the top of the itunes store screen that said I needed to update Quicktime & iTunes in order to play & buy the videos. I clicked and followed the on screen instructions and then when I tried to open itunes I got a notifcation saying:
"The iTunes application could not be opened. A required iTunes component is not installed. Please repair or reinstall Quicktime. (-42404)"
What do i do?
I've tried repairing Quicktime and iTunes and Apple doesnt have a support email which by the way is absolutely STUPID.

The podcast is called The MLS Show. It's approved on iTunes and shows up but we had a problem with the initial hosting service and had to change feeds. I tried the steps in the online help but the entry will not link up to the new feed. I need help getting this resolved.

I assume that what you found was this instruction:

which involves adding the <itunes:new-feed-url> tag to the old feed and waiting for the Store to pick up the redirect: this may take several days. This is really the only procedure - hopefully you still have access to the old feed? - as it's a weakness of the system that if you don't, then you are stuck. In that case you can only change the title slightly and resubmit, or follow the instructions on the same page as linked to above, just above the note about changing the URL, to get the podcast removed and then resubmit with the new URL.

IOS5 has broken iTunes ability to play many songs on iPhone

since i upgraded to iOS 5 i havwe had numerous instances where the tracks on my iPhone will not play, and many more instances where songs SOMETIMES play if i wait long enough
the weird thing is that they ALL play with no problem on my desktop MacPro!!!!
(the desktop i sync my iPhone to; and YES i am going to keep syncing to the computer for as long as i can rather then to the iCloud cos Apple has messed up everything that i used to do on mobileme with the "update" to iCloud, so i will have to leave it till the last minute before i go that route, but that should not be a reason for this errant behavior)
i have ripped a load of bought music CDs, then i started buying tracks from iTunes, then i started buying WAV files from Beatport (to see if they were better quality, even tho they cost 4 times as much, they did not sound as good in iTunes as they did in the Beatport player)
all of these used to play with no problem whatsoever in iTunes on my desktop AND on my iPhone
but since the update most (if not all, i am still going thro tracks) WAV files fail to play on my iPhone (they are 1411kpbs bit rate files), also the same bit rate AIFF files do not play, and various of my iTunes bought tracks have problems too
what is going on???????????????
have apple changed the whole system with this ill-thought out upgrade to iOS 5?????
or am i just having some bad luck here??????????
btw i have an iPhone4 (about a year old now)

I also wanted to add that syncing never ends. Not sure why that is happening either.

Fixed Broken iTunes Connection with Firefly Media Server

Hello, Everyone:
I figured out the way to fixed this. The problem is not with your Firefly Media Server the problem is with iTunes.
Leave your Firefly Media Server alone and edit your iTunes. Please follow instruction on the link I provided below to make iTunes work with Firefly Media Server again. Since, I searched the forum and found no solution for this so I would appreciated anyone who repost this please leave the credit to me. Thanks.
