Broken keyboard! Help please

I recently bought a Blackberry 8900 off of Craigslist about a month ago. Everything has been working perfectly up until 2 days ago when my keyboard stopped working. I dropped the phone in wet grass and think that may have something to do with it but the keyboard wont do anything. When I take the battery out and put it in again the phone will start up fine and my home screen will come up but I cant push any buttons to access the phone. When I plug in the phone, it will come up as charging but other than that its useless. Since I bought it off craigslist, Im unsure if the manufacturers warranty is still on it(waiting for a reply from the person I bought it from) and I was just wondering if there was anything I could try to fix it.
Thanks!

  • I need a new key for my keyboard - help please

Hi there. I've had my PowerBook G4 12" for just over a year. I love it and I want some help with the keyboard. I took off the top arrow key on the bottom right corner of the laptop. I did this because it felt like whenever I hit the key it wouldn't feel like all the other ones. It wasn't smooth and such. So I was trying to clean it I suppose. Now the key is off and that rubber thing that was under it is gone. Can I get this fixed? Thanks.
    AIM - marksampson03

By the "rubber thing that was under it" do you mean the white plastic spring (known as the "scissors mechanism")? If so, you can purchase them individually here to fit yourself:
    http://www.pbparts.com/shop/a123s.html
You can also get replacement key caps, if you're missing that too.
Just make sure you're getting the right ones for the 12" PowerBook you have (it sounds like you have what they call a "late model", which is what I've linked to above, but email them if you're unsure before you order).

  • BT Have nearly broken me HELP Please

My saga started on the 11 july when I joined BT as a new customer, my service was due to be installed 5/8 but no engineer showed up. BT the cancelled my order completely in error.
I had to reorder the service and wait another month for installation 6/9 an engineer did come and connect our phoneline but broadband failed to work.
An engineer came out on 10/9 and said that the origional line had a fault and he connected another line and everything worked beautifully untill the 16/9 when i had a letter saying BT were stopping my service. That day My phoneline and broadband were cut off.
I have made dozens of calls to BT, submitted 3 complaints and torn most of my hair out. Because my phone line is inactive i am unable to engage another service provider to take the line over.
We have now also recieved our phone bill  HA...what a joke...for 6 days of service, hours spent on a mobile trying to get a resolution.
No one seems to know what to do about this problem but I am without a landline and broadband. Please it should not be this difficult - 11 weeks of frustration for 6 days service come on BT!

  • Administrator access is broken!  Help please?

at some (very much unknown) point, I have apparently broken my core administrator access to ColdFusion MX7.  We are in the process of upgrading to Coldfusion 8, and as I went to review some information in the older system, I have found that I no longer have access to the Core site.  I'm running the Enterprise edition in a Multi-Server configuration on Solaris.
I have absolutely no idea what is wrong and obviously no clue as to how it may have been broken.  I used it several weeks ago, it worked fine.  Now when I attempt to access the site via http://myhost.mydomain.name/CFIDE/administrator , I get a coldfusion error page that states "unexpected error #360 32"
That is meaningless to me, but hopefully someone out here has seen this and can send me some advice as to "how" to get this repaired and get back into operation.
Thanks to any and all help,
    Howard

    Hmmm....
This is not my Coldfusion admin pages for the servers - this is THE coldfusion administrator for the entire jrun system (and all hosts within coldfusion)...that's the puppy that's "down" or unavailable.  I looked and see no evidence of a "cfclasses" folder in that part of my installation.  I just followed the directions was I did the initial installation, selected an external web server for the install, and on completion, I copied the CFIDE and cfdocs folders into that external web server's root directory.  Looking through my backups, I don't see any evidence of a cfclasses folder ever having been in the root area.
    Thanks

  • Broken LCD Help Please

Two days ago my G4 PowerBook was open and fell approximately one foot and it hit the floor on the rear hinge, very lightly as well, and my LCD cracked from the lower left corner to the top right corner.
It was definitely my fault, however I am very suprised how easy the LCD cracked with such a gentle, short fall on a plush carpet.
Would I be better off buying a replacement LCD and trying to fix it myself, or getting someone else to fix it? Whatever the case, can someone please let me know the cheapest/best route? I really appreciate the help.
Thank you for your help in advance.

Hi, npmccann. It's often not the length of the fall, but the precise manner of the landing that determines how well or badly a Powerbook comes through the experience.
If you pay someone else to replace your display, it will likely cost more than the fair market value of your Powerbook — that is to say, you could buy an equivalent used PB in working condition for the same amount or less than the repair would cost.
If you're a highly skilled do-it-yourselfer and have appropriate tools, you can replace the LCD panel inside your Powerbook's display assembly, at some limited risk of damaging the new display or other components of the Powerbook. If you're a less skilled DIYer, you can replace the whole display assembly more easily, at greater expense. If you aren't reasonably dexterous and proficient with small hand tools, you'd be better off just replacing the Powerbook than tackling the display as a DIY project.

  • Is my ipod broken? Help, please!

My ipod is making a scratchy, staticy noise that seems to be coming from the inside. It had the /!\ triangle and the ipod with a frowny face on it when I turned it on. What happened to it?

The same exact thing happened to my ipod today!! It makes that weird noise then tries to turn on and then says very low battery please wait, but it is plugged into my computer. Anyone know how to fix this?

  • Ipod click wheel broken? Help please.

I've had this Ipod for years, it sort of stopped working one day I don't remember exactly how/why but I just recently found it again and plugged into my sisters Ipod Dock to see if it would work, and it did charge up and would play songs. So I guess there is nothing wrong with it's hardware or software, but the click wheel does absolutely nothing. I can't adjust volume, switch songs, turn it on, turn it off, etc. and right now it's just playing songs in order they are on there as I took it off the Dock. Is there anything I can try to do to fix it? Thanks.
(I am fairly sure its 5th generation, it's black with video and 30GB).

I have tried to connect the iPod to my computer, but the iPod will not connect to the computer and is still restarting constantly.

  • My bluetooth keyboard (Macnus 3.0) is recognised by my iMac but will  not pair?  I have paired it with my iPad using code 8310 but it still will not pair with my iMac.  Can someone help please?

My bluetooth keyboard (Macnus brand - bought recently in Thailand)(similar to Mac small keyboard) will pair with my iPad using code 8310,and is recognized by my iMac but will not pair?
There are very scant instructions with the keyboard and no mention of any code (the code was prompted by my iPad).
I have followed the instructions but it still will not pair with my iMac!
    Can anyone help please?
My iMac is 20 inch  Mid 2007 OSX10.9.1 4GB RAM

Hi All, thank you for you suggestions.  I have been unable to find any website for the maker, but have looked at several Thai/cambodian sites incl <http://www.buycoms.com/Article/8435/index.asp>  which mentions the keyboard being suitable for tablet or windows.  No mention of iMac!  although the box is branded to indicate Mac compatable.
I'm thinking that maybe it just will not pair with an iMac.
Ill keep looking for the maker website, which might come on later in the future? maybe?
    thanks again.

  • Apple Wireless Keyboard - Shift + 'r' key not working. It doesn't capitalise the letter. Can someone help please. Thank you.

    Hi all,
I am having some problem with the Apple Wireless Keyboard. It has not problem connecting to both my iPad mini / iPhone 4S.
The problem comes when I start to type with it. All the keys are functioning will, except when I am trying to capitalise the letter 'r'.
I tried using Shift + r. It doesn't work, regardless whether I use the left or right Shift key.
Any someone help please. Thank you.

If your Macbook is less than a year old, it is under warranty. A repair of of a problem of this kind would be free. So, if you have a warranty, have the problem fixed by Apple.
If your Macbook is more than one year old, please tell us what operating system you are running, and any other information that would help understand what is going on.
If you do get the keyboard to work for a short time, long enough to post back, please unlock the "caps lock" button.

I have tried another wireless mouse which works but dont have another keyboard. It is password protected so cant get in to do urgent work. Help please.

    Hello,
You could try booting from the install disk #1 (holding down the "C" key while starting up with the disk in) that came with it and then running disk utility to repair the disk. Then restart.
Booting into safe mode (holding the shift key right after the startup tone) and then after it comes up in safe mode, restarting can also help this issue.
Booting into single user mode and running fsck may also help..

Hopefully it is just a simple error on your HD that is causing this problem.
(if you have already done all this before posting, i apologize for suggesting the obvious first... im new to this board and just trying to help!)
    Hopefully this helps!

Try a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider if that appears.  See if that clears the glitch.

  • Help Please Software/Hardware Mouse And Keyboard problem.

I have a Corsair Vengeance and a Razr Black widow keyboard and the problem is that when i right click it wont let me select any options, it will flicker violently only when i move the mouse and im getting strange yellow highlight boxes whenever i drag
the left mouse button(ex Volume Sliders). The keyboard will only bring up shortcuts and the start button on my keyboard will open narrater settings. Ive noticed that it only happens when my computer falls asleep and when i turn it back on the problem will
start. Ive just installed advanced system care and ive done he maintanence. Can that be the problem? Ive already uninstalled it but the problem keeps happening.

    Try reinstalling the driver http://www.razerzone.com/au-en/gaming-keyboards-keypads/razer-blackwidow/
Also run a "sfc /scannow" from the command prompt
Also in advanced power management setting disable the USB power saving options (think its called USB hybrid power saving)

There really isn't any workaround to the cost. You can't get the parts needed to fix it yourself. Only Apple has those parts and they do not sell them to end users.
Sure you could take it apart and clean everything and the screen might start working again but then it might not. Depending on what cause it to stop working in the first place. Like something got shorted out.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
