Broken link error message
I get an error message whenever I click "help with this widget." It tells me that the link (to Adobe help??) is broken and that I must send an email. But it doesn't tell me where to send the email, or to whom. I desperately need help with this widget and am frustrated by the broken link.

Hi,
Please help me with this broken link error in Office Excel 2010. Thank you.
The problem is: a broken link cannot be removed from the file. The link was used in data validation, which refers to a list of values. After the path was corrected, it still shows there’s a broken link. Here are the details:
I have 4 files named “000TVA_Test – 3”, “000TVA_Test – 4”, “000TVA_Test – 5”, and “000TVA_Test – 6”. The posterior files were developed based on the previous files.
In Test-3, sheet “Template “, cell “L4”, “O4”, “R4”… were built as dropdown list using data validation. The list source is in the “Library” worksheet. There’s no problem so far.
Test-4 was firstly copied from Test-3. In this file I renamed the worksheet from “Library” to “Setting” and the link was broken from here. I can also fix the broken link in this file. (While I didn’t realize there was a broken link.)
In Test-5 I fixed the path, but every time when opening the file, the broken link still shows.
In Test-6 I’ve removed the data validations. The broken link is still there.
I tried to find solutions online. I tried common methods, cannot find anything in the files is still using links. I also tried the “findlink.xla” add-in, but it only worked for Test-4, and couldn’t find the link in other files.
Please help. Thank you!
I uploaded files here: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=1A97736E0ABBAA41!113&authkey=!AF5wAd9rwUPnYyE&ithint=folder%2cxlsm
Thanks again!Hi,
Based on my tested the files downloaded, I found that Test-5 & Test-6 included the "A defined name that refers to an external workbook", Test-4 had not. (Please click Formula Tab>Name Manage, you'll see them.)
However, the Break Links command cannot break the following types of links:
A defined name that refers to an external workbook
A ListBox control with an input range that refers to an external workbook.
A DropDown control with an input range that refers to an external workbook.
http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/291984/en-us (It also applies to Excel 2010)
Thus, we'd better try the workaround: re-build the Test-5 & Test 6.

Dynamic link error message again?
Hi
I am running Bridge CS6, somethimes with photoshop CS6.
I am running mac OSX.6.8 (snow leopard).
mac book pro
I am getting the dynamic link error message again after not having the problem since CS6beta. It sometimes is only with mov or other movie files but sometimes it is with all. It is also very slow and sluggish in general.
When I click on a video files Bridge spins the wheel for a whlie and then gives me the below error message
(in case the screen shot does not load)
The error message reads
"dynamiclinkserver has encountered an error"
and then it reads off a file thread. and then I must click to continue
I click to contiue. the message comes back. I click once more and the file then presents. I click to play the vid. the error message again comes back. And I must repeat the clicking twice. I have reset the preferences and purged the cashe. I have installed the patch I found in the forum too. thanks for any help you can render, UhaneYes I did that while talking to tech support on the phone. They had given up and refered me to an upper tech support staff who was supposed to call me back but never did. Where is a link to this udate? It did not show up when I ran the updater.?! As for permission listed as a culprit on the other thread you link to I have no such firewall or other software running. All the permissions have been set to my admin accnt which is the one and only accnt on this machine. I had NO problem since the beta version and then all of sudden it started again with the dynamic link fail with somoe files types in the last day or so. As for the other problems ... I honestly don't have a clue but assume they are all related to a single cause as they all showed up at the same time. I will reset once more. All start up scripts are checked. always have been. Can you tell me more about this update?? Is there a link? I will go fish...thanks for your help

How can I fix an invalid sibling link error message without my original install disk?
How can I fix an invalid sibling link error message without my original install disk?
Hi Jeff,
It's not even likely the Install Disc could fix that, but if you want to try...
Does it boot to Single User Mode, CMD+s keys at bootup, if so try...
/sbin/fsck -fy
Repeat until it shows no errors fixed.
(Space between fsck AND -fy important).
Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck...
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
You must repair the HD, your best bet is likely DiskWarrior.
BTW, you might enjoy these DiskWarrior review/recommendations...

Finally, you should run DiskWarrior if your Mac explicitly warns you of a problem with your disk in the form of an error message. Most of these errors are reported by the built-in Disk Utility whether your Mac OS X version is 10.3 Panther, 10.4 Tiger, 10.5 Leopard, 10.6 Snow Leopard or 10.7 Lion. Here are some of the most common messages:
Disk Repair: The disk was not repairable by this computer. It is being made available to you with limited functionality. You must back up your data and reformat the disk as soon as possible.
The underlying task reported failure on exit.
Invalid node structure.
Keys out of order.

They get 'Missing Links' error messages ... Why?
I created a piece of Artwork (probably best done in Indesign, but Illy is my preferred), and sent it to the publisher.
I placed images in the document. I 'Saved As' and choose PDF, and made sure I had the Embedded images option ticked.
They are using CS4 and I'm using CS so its not that I'm going backwards (then I'd use export).
So, my question is, why are they getting this error message (I realise it is because they are missing the links, and don't have the images)? Other than sending them all the images/logos is there another solution?
My specs: Windows XP Pro, Illy CS.
ThanksThanks tman69 & Wade,
I've managed to speak to the printing company and sorted it all out. It was a combination of her trying to view the letter outlines on the raster images as the file has both raster images and vector images in it. So, she could see the outline of the vector ones but not the others.
Wade, now that I've read your post I think I mis understood you. I had created another version when saving it. I have no issues with disk size so didn't even take that into account (I should read more closely). I have sent them both the original file, and the new saved as file.
Fortunately this is now fixed.

Trying to add a Captivate SWF movie to RoboHelp, and added it to the Baggage files, and then created a link for it, choosing either Display in New Window or the Default option. this is the same procedure I've done with other Captivate SWFs, without problems. With one particular SWF, the following error message appears:
"This action will create an external link to the help system. The link may not function when the help system is moved to other systems. Create the link anyway?"
I found another post with a similar problem at:
http://forums.adobe.com/message/99790
That message was posted nearly a year ago, and there were no replied to it.
If anyone has a suggestion/comment that might shed light and help solve this, would greatly appreciate hearing from you!Hi Jay
Any time you see a message like that it means you need to investigate further to discover why it's appearing.
It can mean a few different things. Exactly what will depend on how the link is appearing. So look at the link and see what it says.
With this, it's all about relationships. The relationship of what you are linking to with respect to where it exists in relation to the help system. Obviously, RoboHelp is sensing that things are amiss here.
Go ahead and create the link, then look at the code.
If you see something like ../../../FileName.HTM, RoboHelp is attempting to calculate the relative path to the file and it's a folder level or so above where the actual project is. Depending on the way you have structured the files on your server, this may be totally fine or it may mean disaster. Only analysis will tell.
If the link looks like this:
file://C:/SomeFolder/SomeOtherFolder/FileName.EXT
It means that you are creating an ABSOLUTE link. In that case, things would only work if every PC that presents the WebHelp also has a file://C:/SomeFolder/SomeOtherFolder/FileName.EXT structure and file.
Cheers... Rick

Is your ARM module in Evaluation mode? If so, there's a restriction on code size. Maybe a large program causes this.
If you build a small shipping example, do you see the same thing?
Can you post the project that causes the problem? The project folder will have the VIs and the lvproj file. In addition, it will contain a subfolder with all the uVIsion files. Build the Project and zip everything together. Post it here for us to take a look at. "broken assets" error message when saving project as disc image
I've seen this question asked before but I've been unable to find a solution that works. I am using iDvd6. After creating my project in iMovie, I shared it with iDvd. I then added a slide show and some music. Before burning to disc I "save as disc image". However when I click "file" and "save as disc image", the error says that I have a "broken asset" in my project and need to fix it before continuing.
The DVD map shows no errors. I even deleted the iDVD project completely and started it again by going back to iMovie and sharing to iDvd, but I still get the same error. I even deleted the file "com.apple.idvd.." (I forget exactly) as someone recommended and restarted iDvd, and still no luck. The irony is that I have already done 8 different projects successfully (iMovie to iDvd to image burn to disc burn), but this one has me stumped as I can't find any errors to repair. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Brett
iMac 24" OSX Mac OS X (10.4.8)Hi b
1. I don't ever use "Share/Export to iDVD" from within iMovie. It renders and
destroys.
I drop my movie icon (with a Star on it) into the open iDVD theme window)
iDVD do the redering and so much better.
2. Deleting the pref file is always a good start:
iDVD
-->/Users/YourName**/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iDVD.plist
3. Free space on internal hard disk should read about 20 - 25Gb free.
4. I would start a new account / log into this / re-do the iDVD project but
this time by dropping in the movie icon.

Linker Error during compiling ODBC WinCE C++_Sample Project
I am devloping a ODBC application for PocketPC2003 using OLite 10g Release 10.3.0.2. before that i am understanding the sample application provided with Olite.
I followed all the instructions provided in ReadMe.txt file available before using VC++ sample. After making all the settings and compiling i am getting following linker errors as mentioned below.

The OLITE forum (Database Mobile Server (inc. legacy Database Lite) would be a better place to post your issue. This forum deals with the ODBC driver that connects to a "normal" Oracle database.
Hope it helps,

I have an SQL Report with a link to a detail page.
The link works for 9 out of the 10 rows, but on the 10th row, I'm getting a http 404, broken link error. The link is the same, session is the same, and the only difference is value of the key being passed into the next page. To make this even more strange, when I cut and paste the hyperlink into a new browser, the link works!
Any ideas? Where can I look to find a potential problem?Nope...I use application items for keys used on multiple pages to simplify linkage and minimize parameter passing. I'm pretty darn certain about what caused this....
First, I copied the page that was returning the 404 into a new page and started removing functionality with the hopes of identifying the problem area. Please realize that the page would work perfectly and then would suddenly stop rendering, so I new that something (data, code) was causing the intermittent issue.
The first thing I did was remove ALL conditional logic on all items within the page and it still didn't render. Then I started deleting objects (on the copied page). The first thing I deleted was all the buttons, and sure enough, the page rendered perfectly, so I knew the problem was somewhere within the buttons. I moved all the buttons to specific region locations ('edit', 'create', 'create2', 'next', 'previous', etc.) and sure enough, the page rendered perfectly, using the exact same data that caused the problem, without any other changes. I've had no problems since.
Because there seem to be doubts about this, I just recreated the problem. I moved all of the buttons to region template position #change# and it worked fine. I moved all of the buttons to region template position #create# and bang, the problem has reappeared. So the issue is within the #create# position. It causes a complete abort with an HTTP 404. -
Help !! a link error
when I link my application to an lib. the following link error occurs:
Undefined first referenced
symbol in file
__RTTI__1CpknKDT_TSymbol4nJRWCString___ /am/lib/sun4.solaris2.9/libDV.so
How can I get the information about the symbols in a lib?
I'm not sure where the symbol __RTTI__1CpknKDT_TSymbol4nJRWCString is defined?I see that this forum software deleted the stuff in angle brackets in my original answer. The missing RTTI symbol refers to const DT_TSymbol< RWCString >* That is, a pointer to template class DT_TSymbol instantiated on type RWCString.
The missing symbol is a data object generated by the compiler. Since the data object is referenced in each shared library, it should be contained in each shared library.
The RTTI data is missing, and there are at least two reasons why that might be so.
1. The library was not built correctly; a necessary object file was omitted. That missing object file would have contained the RTTI data.
2. The library was built with a compiler that neglected to emit the RTTI object (a compiler bug).
Determining which is the case is beyond the scope of what we can do in this forum.
A place to start is to have whoever built those libraries add the option "-z defs" to the CC command line that was used to create each shared library. They will see linker error messages about all the needed symbols that are missing. That's a starting point for tracking down why they are missing.
In general, shared libraries should be built with "-z defs" so that the creator of the library finds out about missing symbols instead of inflicting the pain on clients of the library. -

RajdeepHi,
I have 64-bit machine on which OEL 5.4 O/S os installed.I used correct version of Oracle database (11.2.0.2) software to install.
Please refer the output of versions are used.
uname -a
Linux Node-01 2.6.18-164.el5 #1 SMP Thu Sep 3 04:15:13 EDT 2009 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Following are the database software setup used for installation.

p10098816_112020_Linux-x86-64_2of7.zip
For any doubt of version, I used same setup to install database software version (11.2.0.1) and succeed in that. But when tried for 11.2.0.2 installation on same setup then failed. I feel this is some other issue.

Not a standard feature of WEB UI to enable the user to navigate to the required field from the error messages box. The respective mandatory fields can be highlighted in the overview or assignment blocks, but if it is across assignment blocks the user needs to scroll and check where it is. Attempting a development to be able to navigate to the field from the error messages box is very complex. WEB UI technical consultant needs to make an assessment of feasibility
