    There are plenty reference to this below url which doesn't work anymore :
    http://www.oracle.com/support/library/data-sheet/oracle-lifetime-support-policy-datasheet.pdf
    As I understand, it has been replaced by this one :
    http://www.oracle.com/support/library/brochure/lifetime-support-technology.pdf
    Isn't it possible to make a link from the first to the second ?
    Nicolas.

    Thanks Nicolas,
    We have set up a notification at the old URL of http://www.oracle.com/support/library/data-sheet/oracle-lifetime-support-policy-datasheet.pdf to direct users to the new location for an overview of the Oracle Lifetime Support Policy.

  • How to find broken links or cross-references in a PDF file?

    Hi,
    Recently I have been trying to figure out if there is a way to find out any broken link(s) in a PDF file. I'm aware that in FrameMaker we can search for Unresolved Cross-references and fix them, but is there such feature in Acrobat?
    Any suggestions on this would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    There's nothing in Acrobat itself, but there are 3rd-party program plug-ins that do the job.  I use 'Autobookmark' (http://www.evermap.com/autobookmark.asp) which does a very good job of finding and marking broken links and allows keyboard-entry editing without having to re-browse the link if you already know the correct path.  It also facilitates a lot of other useful functions that Acrobat makes rather tedious (like changing the zoom setting on all links or bookmarks).

  • PDF Open Parameters reported as broken links

    I use the PDF Open Parameters in order to link to specific
    pages/locations in PDF documents:
    e.g. <a href="
    http://www.site.com/pdffile.pdf#nameddest=signup">pdffile</a>
    However these always get reported as broken link within
    Dreamweaver (CS3) and as broken anchors when I run other link or
    page quality scans against the site.
    Has anyone else experienced this and if so is it normal
    behaviour? If this is an agreed standard then I would have expected
    it to be recognised as a valid link/anchor.

    It's expected behavior in DW. Since you're referencing a full
    URL, DW can't
    see that when testing for broken links within a locally
    defined site. Due to
    Adobe's and MS unwillingness to communicate...you're stuck
    with this
    approach until the path issues get resolved.

  • Cs4_deployment.pdf broken link

    Hi Guys,
    I have contacted Adobe several times through online, trying to access the cs4_deployment.pdf file that they link to in several of their knowledgebase articles.
    They have not fixed the broken link and has been like that for over 3 weeks.
    However, Im trying to deploy cs4 silently, but with a progress bar so users can see when it is finished installing. I know you could do that in cs3, but apparently from what ive found they dont do that anymore.
    Unless they have another mode to specify in the command line
    (--mode=silent). are there any other modes to display progress, but supress EULA, and preserialise, without making it 100% silent?

    I believe the correct link should be http://www.adobe.com/aboutadobe/openoptions/pdfs/manualenterprisedeployment_cs4_help.pdf.
    We are in the process of correcting the links in the knowledge base articles. Thank you for binging this to our attention.

  • Preview Pane and broken link issues in CS2 for Mac.  Please help!

    I posted this a few days ago - but would love to have some insight on how we can resolve this issue
    When I am working on html documents, both old and new, I have lost all of the 'preview pane' buttons.
    I can still see and have access to the layout and source panes, but the two preview (pdf and regular) are missing.
    In the body of the editor all of the images that were there now show just a broken link image (but when you save and go to view the file in a browser all changes and updates are there.  The source shows all of the right info and links
    Also when you place a new image - the image icon doesn't show the image or even change to the proper size that the image is.  You have to do that manually and then still only shows a broken icon in the new size.
    Has anyone seen this before?  Did I accidentally altered a mode in GoLive....is there a way to fix it?
    Thanks!!!

    When you have ADE (digital editions) open with  "bookshelves" page with a "Getting Started with Adobe Digital Editions" booklet in it,
    enter cmd-shift-U, or menu/Help/Authorize Computer.
    That will ask for your Adobe ID and password and authorize the computer.
    Once that has been done you shouldn't need to do it again.
    Sometimes you do need to if things go wrong, but you certainly shouldn't have to do it at all regularly.
    When that has been done, plug in the Kobo; it should show up in the left pane of ADE.
    Use "menu/Help/Authorize Device" and that will authorize your Kobo with the Adobe ID from the Mac.
    You can then copy books by drag-dropping onto the Kobo within ADE

  • Check broken links in Adobe Acrobat

    Hey everybody,
    I am searching for a Plugin for Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Professional, which check brocken links in a pdf-document and create a report with all brocken links. Here I mean links like www.microsoft.com. A broken link link is www.12nmu8098.com . The report must conclud the broken link and the number of broken links in the document.
    Best regards
    hallodu1889

    Thanks for your answer. I tested this plugin but it functioned not correctly. Normaly the result of the test of www.rez2828zdhs.com must show, that it is a broken link. The report of this plugin shows that this is a correct link. Do you you know an other plugin?
    Best regard

  • Reporting broken links

    Is there a quick and easy mechanism to report broken links? A documentation link form help.sap.com doesn't work:
    http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/PftPF/en/pf_usersguide_780c.pdf
    Maybe I'm blind, but I just can't seem to find a "report a dead link" type of thing.

    Hello Mark,
    That website doesn't have any feedback mechanism I am aware of. Just a thought, but if you post this in the forum category most related to that topic, someone from Product Management in SAP might see it as they read the forums here and the documents posted on the help.sap.com portal are written by people in the Product Management org.

  • Linked pdfs from chm do not work in windows 8/explorer 11

    I get the x broken link in top right corner... I tried all the solutions from changing reader settings to IE settings... no luck. the chm links works fine when opened on windows 7 and the pdfs open in multi screen and epub output. This is definitely a Windows 8/IE/Adobe Reader issue and it needs to be solved very soon or I may not have a job...

    I get your point about CHM and falling sort of "behind the times". I've been a huge CHM fan for seemingly eons. I've loved the ability to package things into a single file and have it ship and the fact there is no external application needed in order for folks to use it on Windows systems.
    But here's something that may surprise you.
    It's been about a year ago, but I had a conversation with a high ranking Adobe person that advised that Adobe had performed a study and CHM was still among one of the most widely used output types. So that reason alone would seem to mandate that CHM output remain a viable option for the time being.
    I do agree that manufacturers such as Adobe have the onus on them to ensure that things such as the PDF reader work as well as they are able. And I do believe they do. But I also realize that in some cases there is little to nothing they can really do. For example, how a CHM file handles something like PDF is totally up to Microsoft to control. And Microsoft hasn't updated the CHM reader in a very long while. Microsoft actually seems disinterested in providing any standard for help systems. I'm also aware that for CHM files, there is a lot of interaction between the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser and the HTML Help viewer. So any changes to the browser *CAN* (and frequently do) break functionality. Now toss in the fact that the PDF viewer also interacts with the browser and you get a very interesting concoction.
    Don't even get me started on end user expectations... I click and it doesn't work. I want to click and the coffeemaker turn on, the lights to dim and music to play! LOL
    Cheers... Rick

  • Relinking broken links with JSX

    Okay,
    Say I have a series of folders and I have linked art and the files they are linked to all mixed up in these folders. My file structure is as such;
    myFiles\HH01000-01999\HH01000-HH01099\HH001001.PDF
    and now I need to change the file structure to this;
    myFiles\HH\HH01000-01999\HH01000-HH01099\HH001001.PDF
    adding the folder HH breaks the links.
    What is the best way to identify the broken link and change its path with JSX? Anybody got any ideas?

    Thanks Carlos,
    this is how i ended up getting it done.
    function changeLinkedArt () {
        linkedPath = app.activeDocument.placedItems;
        outcome = 0;
    for(i=0; i < linkedPath.length; i++) {
        linkedPathArray = linkedPath[i].file.path.split("/");
        for(j=0; j < linkedPathArray.length; j++) {
            if(linkedPathArray[j] === "HH") {
                outcome = 1;
        if (outcome === 0) {
            fileName = linkedPath[i].file.toString();
            linkedFileArray = fileName.split("/");
            for(k=0; k < linkedFileArray.length; k++) {
                if(linkedFileArray[k] === "illustrations") {
                    linkedFileArray[k] = linkedFileArray[k] + "/HH";
                    NewIndexLine = linkedFileArray.join("/");
                    //alert(NewIndexLine);
                    linkedPath[i].file=File(NewIndexLine);
        outcome = 0;
    modified an adobe script to open all files in a folder and run the script on all of them.
    wanted to build some arrays to change all files in multiple folders but i could not get the ".getFiles( fileType );" to take a path instead of the Folder.selectDialog.
    thats the only thing that bugs me.

  • Broken Link Report with Variables

    In my broken links report, I have many links that contain dynamic variables that will be realized at execution time and are not static links.
    I have included some code from our page(s) below.
    This process works extremely well for our web pages, but I would like to clear up the broken link report.
    Is there a way to keep the code as is and have them removed from the broken link report, or is there better way to do this?
    Example:
    <cfoutput query = “getDBcontent”>
    <cfset FileName =“../projectweb/images/#getDBcontent.FileType#.gif”>
    <cfset FileTitleAlt = “The title of this document is: #getDBcontent.FileTitle#”>
    <img src=”#FileName#” alt=”#FileTitleAlt#”> #currentrow# <a href=”../projectweb/files/#getDBcontent.Table_FileName#”
                     target=“_blank”>#getDBcontent.Table_FileNameTitle#</a><br />
    </cfoutput>
    After Execution:
    <img src=”pdf.gif” alt=”The title of this document is: Search Lists for Dummies”> 1
    <a href=”../projectweb/files/Search_Lists_for_Dummies.pdf” target=“_blank”> Search Lists for Dummies </a><br />

    <a href=”../projectweb/files/Adobe_Dreamweaver_CS5_Classroom_in_a_Book.docx” target=“_blank”>

    The broken link report shows the following:

  • 8.1.7 broken links

    I seem to be getting 404's trying to look at admin guides here: Oracle8i Release 8.1.7 Documentation

    The broken links on that page and some related Release 8 pages should be fixed now, thanks to the efforts of the documentation production team and the internal OTN support group.
    The original problems seemed to occur only with specific PDF links on those release-specific pages. The HTML links worked, as did various "View Library" links (and PDF and HTML links within those libraries). From a check of random PDF links, all the links seem to work fine now.

  • Word 2003 crashes when trying to restore broken link

    We have a project that is frequently updated by the same
    person. Today, as user was trying to restore broken links, Word
    dies abruptly and goes into recovery mode. This happens at the
    click of OK on the dialog that shows the link detail-instant death
    to Word 2003. I have MS auto-updates set to manual, and did not run
    the AU for December 07. A follow up message occurs asking if I want
    to save robohelp.dot (located in C:\Docs and Settings\...) We have
    not had this behavior before, have not done MS updates since April,
    just because RHO was working. I am just looking for a few
    suggestions, I guess, and perhaps help in ruling out RHO X5 as the
    culprit here. P.S. Our typical work setting is that the user
    accesses the files from a network drive as works on them across the
    network. We are a small shop and low-latency on our network. Just
    to check, I copied the directory with the project files to the
    local drive and tried same operation, received same result - Word
    dies and recovers. Am wondering now if I should restore from tape
    and see if corruption occurred. Thanks!

    I had exactly the same problem. The following "hotfix" sorted it quite well for me:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/952909
    The AdobePDF printer dialog is still showing errors with printing each document, but the PDFs are created and saved regardless.

  • The broken link error

    Hi,
    Please help me with this broken link error in Office Excel 2010. Thank you.
    The problem is: a broken link cannot be removed from the file. The link was used in data validation, which refers to a list of values. After the path was corrected, it still shows there’s a broken link. Here are the details:
    I have 4 files named “000TVA_Test – 3”, “000TVA_Test – 4”, “000TVA_Test – 5”, and “000TVA_Test – 6”. The posterior files were developed based on the previous files.
    In Test-3, sheet “Template “, cell “L4”, “O4”, “R4”… were built as dropdown list using data validation. The list source is in the “Library” worksheet. There’s no problem so far.
    Test-4 was firstly copied from Test-3. In this file I renamed the worksheet from “Library” to “Setting” and the link was broken from here. I can also fix the broken link in this file. (While I didn’t realize there was a broken link.)
    In Test-5 I fixed the path, but every time when opening the file, the broken link still shows.
    In Test-6 I’ve removed the data validations. The broken link is still there.
    I tried to find solutions online. I tried common methods, cannot find anything in the files is still using links. I also tried the “findlink.xla” add-in, but it only worked for Test-4, and couldn’t find the link in other files.
    Please help. Thank you!
    I uploaded files here: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=1A97736E0ABBAA41!113&authkey=!AF5wAd9rwUPnYyE&ithint=folder%2cxlsm
    Thanks again!

    Hi,
    Based on my tested the files downloaded, I found that Test-5 & Test-6 included the "A defined name that refers to an external workbook", Test-4 had not. (Please click Formula Tab>Name Manage, you'll see them.)
    However, the Break Links command cannot break the following types of links:
    A defined name that refers to an external workbook
    A ListBox control with an input range that refers to an external workbook.
    A DropDown control with an input range that refers to an external workbook.
    http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/291984/en-us (It also applies to Excel 2010)
    Thus, we'd better try the workaround: re-build the Test-5 & Test 6.
