Broken link report only

Not sure if it's a broken link, but on my Windows 8/IE10 computer when I click the link:
"Update Internet Explorer to download the latest version of Adobe Flash Player for Windows 8 32-bit machine"
the page was "greyed out" ... below the word "Download"
Thanks,

"Update Internet Explorer" Is a Microsoft link and NO ONE here can do a thing about it.

  • Broken links report generator doesn't work

I found a website that didn't work with Firefox 3.6.15. I selected the Report broken website menu item. Typed in the problem description and clicked the Submit button. The popup broken link report continues to show 'sending report' with an in progress bar for the last 10 minutes! Apparently report sw cannot contact Firefox server to send report.

Mozilla Website Evangelism has ended, the '''Report Broken Website...''' function is gone in 4.0 & later versions, and the server was shutdown in December - which is the problem you are experiencing. You can use the Submit Feedback... feature in the Help menu in 4.0 & later, but if the report is about a website that doesn't work properly in Firefox, Mozilla isn't going to contact the website and encourage them to fix their issues.

  • Broken Link Report with Variables

In my broken links report, I have many links that contain dynamic variables that will be realized at execution time and are not static links.
I have included some code from our page(s) below.
This process works extremely well for our web pages, but I would like to clear up the broken link report.
Is there a way to keep the code as is and have them removed from the broken link report, or is there better way to do this?
    Example:
    <cfoutput query = “getDBcontent”>
    <cfset FileName =“../projectweb/images/#getDBcontent.FileType#.gif”>
<cfset FileTitleAlt = “The title of this document is: #getDBcontent.FileTitle#”>
    <img src=”#FileName#” alt=”#FileTitleAlt#”> #currentrow# <a href=”../projectweb/files/#getDBcontent.Table_FileName#”
                     target=“_blank”>#getDBcontent.Table_FileNameTitle#</a><br />
    </cfoutput>
    After Execution:
<img src=”pdf.gif” alt=”The title of this document is: Search Lists for Dummies”> 1
    <a href=”../projectweb/files/Search_Lists_for_Dummies.pdf” target=“_blank”> Search Lists for Dummies </a><br />
    <img src=”pdf.gif” alt=”The title of this document is: Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 with PHP”> 2
    <a href=”../projectweb/files/Adobe_Dreamweaver_CS5_with_PHP.pdf” target=“_blank”>
    Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 with PHP </a><br />
    <img src=”doc.gif” alt=”The title of this document is: How to Build a House”> 3

    <img src=”docx.gif” alt=”The title of this document is: Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 Classroom in a Book”> 4
    <a href=”../projectweb/files/Adobe_Dreamweaver_CS5_Classroom_in_a_Book.docx” target=“_blank”>
Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 Classroom in a Book </a>
The broken link report shows the following:
    FILES                                                      Broken Links

  • Files with broken links that only show in Smart Playlists

    Hello,
My issue is a strange one, so please bear with me. First - I've had the same iTunes library for several version of iTunes. That might have something to do with my issue. The issue is that when I create a Smart Playlist filtering for genre=podcasts, there are numerous files listed there with broken links. If I flip over to the Podcast category under my Library, these files do not appear. I'd like to delete these broken links, but since they only appear in a Smart Playlist I can't delete them from there. My feeling is that the iTunes library database just has some left over records from previous files. Does anyone know how to edit the library or is there some 3rd party utility that can clean up these hidden records for me?
Thanks in advance for any help!

The issue is that when I create a Smart Playlist filtering for genre=podcasts, there are numerous files listed there with broken links. If I flip over to the Podcast category under my Library, these files do not appear.
Podcasts are not put into the Podcast category by the Genre just as Audiobooks ar enot put into Audiobooks category by the Genre.
It is info in the file and when it is downloaded that makes it a podcast or audiobook.
Likely these podcasts are under Music.
Hold Option and click on the arrow next to the item name. This should take you to the item in the library, wherever it is.
Also, you can hold hold Option and press Delete. This will remove the item from the playlist and also delete it from the library.

  • Broken link report broken?

Hi. I'm using Dreamweaver CS 5.5. I get the same results on Mac or Windows so I don't think this is OS specific.
When I run "Site>Check links sitewide" I end up with a report that shows around 11,000 broken links on different pages. I am running this report on our development server (we Put files to our live site from the development server) but I'm not sure how that could be a cause. We've got a number of links to external websites that show as broken but when I check them randomly, they are all fine and the outside websites are up and running. It is also showing many internal links to other pages of our site as broken but again, random checks show them all as ok.
Is there a secret I may be missing to run an accurate link report or is it just there for looks?
    Thanks.

  • Broken links reporting - why so difficult?

Received update reminder for Flash. Followed link https://get3.adobe.com/flashplayer/update/activex/ but it says page not available. Why would a company like Adobe have such faulty systems?

I used the link via another site and that worked . I had tried the link on the Adobe site several times.

  • Why doesn't the Quicktime site have an easy way to report broken links?

Perhaps Apple thinks this site is perfect?
The link to 'The heart is deceitful above all things' has been down for DAYS -- surely something the producers of that movie would not be happy about??
There's no simple way (that I can see) to report such a broken link - just for the heck of it I spent 20 minutes looking for a way to report this minor glitch, and there doesn't seem to be one (or I'm missing the obvious).
Maybe someone who can do something will read this!

Thanks very much for the link!
...but where is the "link to the link" on the Quicktime site.... if I didn't know where to look for this, how would I find out about it, or realize that this is the way to report a simple broken link?
Is this bad site design or am I just plain blind!?
I'm just frustrated that the site doesn't have a simple way to report this (I've seen similar broken links before on the Movie site, and they often persist for days). If you hadn't helped me out I don't think I would have figured out how to do this!

  • Reporting broken links

Is there a quick and easy mechanism to report broken links? A documentation link form help.sap.com doesn't work:
    http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/PftPF/en/pf_usersguide_780c.pdf
Maybe I'm blind, but I just can't seem to find a "report a dead link" type of thing.

    Hello Mark,
That website doesn't have any feedback mechanism I am aware of. Just a thought, but if you post this in the forum category most related to that topic, someone from Product Management in SAP might see it as they read the forums here and the documents posted on the help.sap.com portal are written by people in the Product Management org.
    Best Regards,

  • PDF Open Parameters reported as broken links

I use the PDF Open Parameters in order to link to specific
    pages/locations in PDF documents:
    e.g. <a href="
    http://www.site.com/pdffile.pdf#nameddest=signup">pdffile</a>
However these always get reported as broken link within
Dreamweaver (CS3) and as broken anchors when I run other link or
page quality scans against the site.
Has anyone else experienced this and if so is it normal
behaviour? If this is an agreed standard then I would have expected
it to be recognised as a valid link/anchor.

It's expected behavior in DW. Since you're referencing a full
    URL, DW can't
see that when testing for broken links within a locally
    defined site. Due to
Adobe's and MS unwillingness to communicate...you're stuck
    with this
approach until the path issues get resolved.

I am receiving unauthorised billings for purchase from application Kingdom Age from seller Funzio, Inc .  I can't find a place/link to cancel the billing neither report this problem. The link REPORT A PROBLEM only links you to Apple Store without a hint/directions whre you can report the problem.
I've been surfing all parts of the website and didn.t find a manner to REPORT A PROBLEM with purchases on my behalf not authorized.

    Hi..
Just to be on the safe side if you have not already changed your Apple ID password, probably should do that.

  • Broken link to Presenter 8 Trial download

    Broken link to trial:
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=presenter
How about "Request Information", maybe some one can send me a good link?
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=contact_us&sa=elearning
Another Broken Link.  Hmm.  This is getting complicated.
OK, diferent approach.  Google "adobe presenter 8 trial".  Ahh, this looks good:
    https://www.adobe.com/go/trypresenter
    Broken Link
    Back to Google.  Second link:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=153&platform=Windows
    Jackpot!  Finally a good link.
Download latest full install 7.0.7.  Error during installation: "Error - Unable to detect Microsoft Powerpoint", which is odd, since I have PP installed.
Google errormessage, and discover 7.0.7 doesn't support 64-bit PP 2010.  Sigh.
8.0.2 does, apparently, but the only file for that is an upgrade - not an installer.
Guess I should report those broken links, right?  Maybe if they get those fixed, I'll be able to get the Presenter 8 install?
So, took the "Broken Link" link from error page I get when accesing first link above, and it takes me to http://www.adobe.com/aboutadobe/contact.html
No obvious place to report a broken link.  Feedback? OK, I'll try that.
Report a bug?  Closest thing I see:
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
    Broken Link!
So I can't download a trial that I can install, even though I have a supported product installed, I can't report thebroken Link, and, of course, it being a weekend, I can't contact Adobe Support.
Frustrating.  If this is the quality of the web site, what does that say about the quality of the products?
Anyway, I still want to try the trial, but in the meantime, I guess I'll try Authorpoint.

delete your adobe.com cookie and retry https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=presenter

  • Strange Broken Link

I have an SQL Report with a link to a detail page.
The link works for 9 out of the 10 rows, but on the 10th row, I'm getting a http 404, broken link error. The link is the same, session is the same, and the only difference is value of the key being passed into the next page. To make this even more strange, when I cut and paste the hyperlink into a new browser, the link works!
Any ideas? Where can I look to find a potential problem?

Nope...I use application items for keys used on multiple pages to simplify linkage and minimize parameter passing. I'm pretty darn certain about what caused this....
First, I copied the page that was returning the 404 into a new page and started removing functionality with the hopes of identifying the problem area. Please realize that the page would work perfectly and then would suddenly stop rendering, so I new that something (data, code) was causing the intermittent issue.
The first thing I did was remove ALL conditional logic on all items within the page and it still didn't render. Then I started deleting objects (on the copied page). The first thing I deleted was all the buttons, and sure enough, the page rendered perfectly, so I knew the problem was somewhere within the buttons. I moved all the buttons to specific region locations ('edit', 'create', 'create2', 'next', 'previous', etc.) and sure enough, the page rendered perfectly, using the exact same data that caused the problem, without any other changes. I've had no problems since.
Because there seem to be doubts about this, I just recreated the problem. I moved all of the buttons to region template position #change# and it worked fine. I moved all of the buttons to region template position #create# and bang, the problem has reappeared. So the issue is within the #create# position. It causes a complete abort with an HTTP 404.

  • RH8 fixing broken links

In RH8, I'm trying to fix broken links. I find the topics, then they move from the Broken Links folder to the correct folder but then the topic still looks like it has a broken link! Can anyone advise? here's a pic

    Hello again
Unfortunately you are totally misunderstanding things. Please allow me to try and explain better.
ANY folder in your project is going to have an FPJ file inside it. This is a "behind the scenes" file that RoboHelp uses to keep track of the files that are part of the project.
In the image you provided, there are two folders in the project location with similar names:
    Ranger_Help
    Ranger_Help_
Only the Ranger_Help_ appears to actually be part of the project because the other folder Ranger_Help isn't appearing in the image capture showing the project inside RoboHelp. So unless something screwy happened, you should not find an FPJ file inside that folder. Then again, you may find one. It all depends on what happened.
Personally, I'd look inside the Ranger_Help folder and see if the files representing the broken links are inside. They may well be. And if so, I'd copy them to the Ranger_Help_ folder and see if that resolves things.
This project is beginning to resemble a bowl of spaghetti!
    Cheers... Rick

  • So many Partial Albums are broken links?

I just browsed the iTunes Store today. I found plenty of "Partial Albums" that happen to be broken links. You click on the link and the iTunes Store gives an error message: *Your request could not be completed. The item you've requested is not available.*
I'm not talking about only 2 or 3 random albums here. I'm willing to list a dozen examples here if Apple wishes me to do so, in order to track down the "broken links" so that they can fix it. This just happens to be the first time that I noticed this problem is so widespread.

The best way to report this issue is to contact the iTunes Store Customer Service department using the link at the bottom of the Purchase Issues FAQ web page and let them know which albums you've discovered to be experiencing this problem.
    Regards.
