Broken links at Adobe

Adobe seems to have no place to report broken links at the Adobe website? I just tried to access http://groups.adobe.com/ and got this error message:
Server Error
The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request.
Could not connect to JRun Server.

Hi,
this link is *supposed* to be for Flex 4.6 but when you unzip and install it is Flex 4.5. Can this be fixed as i would really like the 4.6 automation plugin instead of 4.5.

  • Check broken links in Adobe Acrobat

    Hey everybody,
I am searching for a Plugin for Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Professional, which check brocken links in a pdf-document and create a report with all brocken links. Here I mean links like www.microsoft.com. A broken link link is www.12nmu8098.com . The report must conclud the broken link and the number of broken links in the document.
    Best regards
    hallodu1889

Thanks for your answer. I tested this plugin but it functioned not correctly. Normaly the result of the test of www.rez2828zdhs.com must show, that it is a broken link. The report of this plugin shows that this is a correct link. Do you you know an other plugin?

  • I had a broken link by registration adobe ID and can't authorisaze my reader now

The registration site for adobe id digital editon givew a broken link. But give the e-mailadres a id, but I can't see the ID

There are a couple of things I see here.
First, registering your copy of ADE with Adobe is necessary to assure that
the software will work with libraries.  Now that you've done so, ADE's ready
    to go.....
Next, the error getting license message can refer to the digital rights
management (DRM) software that is used by the library.  Some other people
have figured this out, and here is a blog entry that may help:
    http://technology.myblogzone.info/2011/01/how-to-solve-the-error-getting-license-message-i n-adobe-digital-editions/.
There are several different software packages that are used by libraries,
but all have a common function that will expire a loaned ebook after a
certain time.  That's great because you don't have to pay fines for overdue
books.  And it can mean that, if you can't access your download, it will
expire without you having to do anything to it.  I've read some posts here
that say it may be difficult to check out the same ebook again, because the
electronic license information gets messed up, but I don't have any
    experience with it.
    Hope this helps!

  • My videos are coming up "blocked plug-in.  I tried to install the latest Adobe Flash player, but at the end of the install "m getting a broken link.

I cannot view videos - I am getting "blocked plug-in".  I tried to update Flash Player but it does not work. I keep getting Error 404, and a "Broken Link". I suspect that there is a problem with their site, but I'm not sure.  Any ideas?  Right now, I can't play videos.

If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then in System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.

  • Link checker does not seem to see some broken links-why?

    Hi,
I have a problem with the link checker, it does not seem to report some broken links. Here is the context in which it happens.
My site root folder contains (subset) :
    index.php
    Templates/child_userarea.dwt
    user-area/downloads.html
(The file downloads.html is based on child_userarea.dwt.)
    In the template, I have <a href="../../index.php" title="Home page">Home</a>.
    In downloads.html, this link appears as <a href="file:///M|/Website/index.php" title="Home page">Home</a>.
According to this post http://forums.adobe.com/message/934203#934203 by Murray, this is because Dreamweaver (CS4 in my case) thinks that index.php is outside the site root folder. I understand it thinks so because indeed ../../index.php points to the folder parent of the root folder. What I don't get is why doesn't the link checker report that ../../index.php does not exist? (And I'm sure it doesn't, there is no file called index.php outside the root folder.)
    Emilie

That's the thing, it is correct! I have checked many times. Here is what is says:
    and M:\Website\CERC15\ does exist.
For the time being, I have corrected the paths in the template, so for that particular file, it is now ok. However, I have no idea whether other paths are wrong since I am not sure any longer whether they are spotted by the link checker. I searched for other instances of file:///M|/Website and there is none left.
I suspect this is just one more problem due to another problem non-identified so far (see e.g.http://forums.adobe.com/thread/506149?tstart=30). Since I renamed a big batch of files, I have had problems after problems: the templates disappearing (see that other post); I also lost all the files in 4 other folders (files for download linked to the pages through <a> tags); and Dreamweaver has become particularly slow (but this seems to have been fixed with erasing the cache and the personal preferences).
I'd like to start from scratch again (and why not reinstall Dreamweaver), but I don't know how to recreate the site from zero without loosing anything (e.g. links to templates).

  • Broken link to Presenter 8 Trial download

    Broken link to trial:
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=presenter
How about "Request Information", maybe some one can send me a good link?
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=contact_us&sa=elearning
Another Broken Link.  Hmm.  This is getting complicated.
OK, diferent approach.  Google "adobe presenter 8 trial".  Ahh, this looks good:
    https://www.adobe.com/go/trypresenter
    Broken Link
    Back to Google.  Second link:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=153&platform=Windows
    Jackpot!  Finally a good link.
Download latest full install 7.0.7.  Error during installation: "Error - Unable to detect Microsoft Powerpoint", which is odd, since I have PP installed.
Google errormessage, and discover 7.0.7 doesn't support 64-bit PP 2010.  Sigh.
8.0.2 does, apparently, but the only file for that is an upgrade - not an installer.
Guess I should report those broken links, right?  Maybe if they get those fixed, I'll be able to get the Presenter 8 install?
So, took the "Broken Link" link from error page I get when accesing first link above, and it takes me to http://www.adobe.com/aboutadobe/contact.html
No obvious place to report a broken link.  Feedback? OK, I'll try that.
Report a bug?  Closest thing I see:
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
    Broken Link!
So I can't download a trial that I can install, even though I have a supported product installed, I can't report thebroken Link, and, of course, it being a weekend, I can't contact Adobe Support.
Frustrating.  If this is the quality of the web site, what does that say about the quality of the products?
Anyway, I still want to try the trial, but in the meantime, I guess I'll try Authorpoint.

  • Preview Pane and broken link issues in CS2 for Mac.  Please help!

I posted this a few days ago - but would love to have some insight on how we can resolve this issue
When I am working on html documents, both old and new, I have lost all of the 'preview pane' buttons.
I can still see and have access to the layout and source panes, but the two preview (pdf and regular) are missing.
In the body of the editor all of the images that were there now show just a broken link image (but when you save and go to view the file in a browser all changes and updates are there.  The source shows all of the right info and links
Also when you place a new image - the image icon doesn't show the image or even change to the proper size that the image is.  You have to do that manually and then still only shows a broken icon in the new size.
Has anyone seen this before?  Did I accidentally altered a mode in GoLive....is there a way to fix it?
    Thanks!!!

When you have ADE (digital editions) open with  "bookshelves" page with a "Getting Started with Adobe Digital Editions" booklet in it,
    enter cmd-shift-U, or menu/Help/Authorize Computer.
That will ask for your Adobe ID and password and authorize the computer.
Once that has been done you shouldn't need to do it again.
Sometimes you do need to if things go wrong, but you certainly shouldn't have to do it at all regularly.
When that has been done, plug in the Kobo; it should show up in the left pane of ADE.
Use "menu/Help/Authorize Device" and that will authorize your Kobo with the Adobe ID from the Mac.
You can then copy books by drag-dropping onto the Kobo within ADE

  • Dreamweaver 8 - Problematic Broken Link Check

On a regular basis I use Dreamweaver 8's broken link checker
    to convert
relative links to absolute throughout single HTML files.
Once upon a time, I could use the results pane to quickly
    replace all
of the broken links. Ever since installing Dreamweaver 8
    (upgraded from
MX) I've had the following problem with the link checker:
    1. It seems to find all of the broken links correctly,
    however, when I
try to change them into absolute, it doesn't actually make
    the changes.
    2. Sometimes it even makes incorrect changes to the path of
    the link,
such as changing the image link to a .html link randomly (I
    have no
    idea how this happens!)
    3. When it asks if I'd like to replace the other references
    to the same
file, and I respond yes, it does nothing.
After researching this topic somewhat, I have found temporary
    solution,
but it's driving me crazy and I'm looking for a long-term
    resolution
    for this issue.
If I delete my WinFileCache-xxxxxx.dat file (under User >
    Application
    Data > Macromedia > Dreamweaver 8 > Configuration)
    before opening
Dreamweaver, the problem is resolved until the end of that
    specific
session. As soon as I close Dreamweaver and reopen it, the
    problem
    returns.
I understand that by deleting the WinFileCache file I am
    basically
starting with a clean slate, which is why this method is
    temporarily
effective. However, this is a daily problem for me and I'm
    sick of
having to do it every single time I use the program....
SO...if any of you have any thoughts, suggestions, or similar
complaints, please share - I'm desperate to find a long-term
    solution!
    Thanks!

The real question is - why are you regularly getting broken
    links? The only
reason I can think of is that your local site is actually on
    a remote,
shared network drive, and there is intermittant connectivity
    to it due to
some recurring network anomaly. Can you tell me how your site
    is defined?

  • Broken Link to Style Sheet in Pages

All of my pages that have a template applied to them show a
broken link to my CSS file. Both the template and the individual
pages have the syle sheet linked to them. The template file does
not show any broken links. The site is setup for document relative
links . In the individual pages the "template html" shows the CSS
link relative to the templates folder and the "page html" shows the
CSS link relative to the page. Is that a problem?
    Thanks, Kevin
    Dreamweaver 8.02

The Templates directory should be named with a capital "T",
    and there should
be no other files in that folder than your DW templates.
Please move the CSS file to some other location in your site,
    and allow DW
    to adjust that link....

I get an error message whenever I click "help with this widget."  It tells me that the link (to Adobe help??) is broken and that I must send an email.  But it doesn't tell me where to send the email, or to whom.  I desperately need help with this widget and am frustrated by the broken link.

  • PDF Open Parameters reported as broken links

I use the PDF Open Parameters in order to link to specific
    pages/locations in PDF documents:
    e.g. <a href="
    http://www.site.com/pdffile.pdf#nameddest=signup">pdffile</a>
However these always get reported as broken link within
Dreamweaver (CS3) and as broken anchors when I run other link or
page quality scans against the site.
Has anyone else experienced this and if so is it normal
behaviour? If this is an agreed standard then I would have expected
it to be recognised as a valid link/anchor.

It's expected behavior in DW. Since you're referencing a full
    URL, DW can't
see that when testing for broken links within a locally
    defined site. Due to
Adobe's and MS unwillingness to communicate...you're stuck
    with this
approach until the path issues get resolved.

  • RH8 fixing broken links

In RH8, I'm trying to fix broken links. I find the topics, then they move from the Broken Links folder to the correct folder but then the topic still looks like it has a broken link! Can anyone advise? here's a pic

    Hello again
Unfortunately you are totally misunderstanding things. Please allow me to try and explain better.
ANY folder in your project is going to have an FPJ file inside it. This is a "behind the scenes" file that RoboHelp uses to keep track of the files that are part of the project.
In the image you provided, there are two folders in the project location with similar names:
    Ranger_Help
    Ranger_Help_
Only the Ranger_Help_ appears to actually be part of the project because the other folder Ranger_Help isn't appearing in the image capture showing the project inside RoboHelp. So unless something screwy happened, you should not find an FPJ file inside that folder. Then again, you may find one. It all depends on what happened.
Personally, I'd look inside the Ranger_Help folder and see if the files representing the broken links are inside. They may well be. And if so, I'd copy them to the Ranger_Help_ folder and see if that resolves things.
This project is beginning to resemble a bowl of spaghetti!

First: I have 13 pages of broken links. Where is the link to

  • Cs4_deployment.pdf broken link

    Hi Guys,
I have contacted Adobe several times through online, trying to access the cs4_deployment.pdf file that they link to in several of their knowledgebase articles.
They have not fixed the broken link and has been like that for over 3 weeks.
However, Im trying to deploy cs4 silently, but with a progress bar so users can see when it is finished installing. I know you could do that in cs3, but apparently from what ive found they dont do that anymore.
Unless they have another mode to specify in the command line
(--mode=silent). are there any other modes to display progress, but supress EULA, and preserialise, without making it 100% silent?

I believe the correct link should be http://www.adobe.com/aboutadobe/openoptions/pdfs/manualenterprisedeployment_cs4_help.pdf.
We are in the process of correcting the links in the knowledge base articles. Thank you for binging this to our attention.
