Broken Multitouch in 10.7.2?

I keep Mail at fullscreen in its own space. In previous versions of Lion, I could drag a file into an email in two ways:
by click+dragging the icon with my mouse and 3-finger-swiping the trackpad to switch spaces
by click+dragging the icon with my thumb on the trackpad and swiping with 3 fingers while the click is still engaged
Neither of these behaviors work anymore. The only way to drag files between spaces is to drag it to the edge of the screen or the app icon and wait for it to switch. This is a step backwards, IMO, because now I am constantly waiting for the spaces to change and it's less efficient to use them.
Is there any way to get the original behavior back?

I should add: the 3-finger-swipe still works in general, just not while clicking.

Is your lift the flap multitouch book broken in iOS 8?

"Where's Spot? ( enhanced edition" by Eric Hill is a lift the flap book for iBooks. Since I upgraded to iOS 8 the flaps have not worked. The pages turn fine but the point of this book is to see what is behind each door. Has this happened to anyone else or with any other book?

iTunes Match has this problem with almost every iPhone software update. It's unfortunate that they cannot track down the issue. Hopefully this is not indicative of Apple's expertise when it comes to all cloud services. Music, photos and personal data are things that are important to all of us and we spend many hours on custom playlists, personal photo albums and are putting our trust that the work won't just disappear. iCloud drive is another promised feature and it's becoming tougher to trust a new free service when long-standing issues on a paid service cannot be fixed. I want to remain optimistic but so far, iTunes Match is not helping.
On a positive note, the playlists on my Apple TV matches perfectly with my iMac and was working well on my iPhone 5S. The update to iOS 8 on the 5S did NOT cause the playlists to go out of order. I have only seen this issue on new iPhone 6's and iOS 8. Also, moving playlists in and out of folders in iTunes on a Mac seems to be a temporary fix that only lasts as long as you are logged in – Signing out of iTunes Match on iOS and signing back in brings back the problem… which *****.

Flash Builder 4 multitouch device support on Windows 7

I try to run an AIR2.0 multitouch photo app on Windows 7 with Multitouch LCD Dell SX2210T. Unfortunately no gesture was detected.
I could use my finger to drag and drop the photo, but not pan, zoom, rotate?
How does Windows 7 interact with AIR 2 for multitouch gestures? Is there any driver that I need to install?

the example on that site is pretty crappy as its incomplete/broken, I just quickly modified it so that it works(sort of), you need to create a new air project then create a new mxml file call it whatever you want or just use the 'ScatterviewImage.mxml' past the following code in then add the components to your air app and away you go

Multitouch

Is multitouch limited to AIR only?
I was wondering if it is possible to use the multitouch gestures, etc in a .swf loaded into the flash OCX?
I can't seem to find a definitive answer on this. My Googling always finds links referring to AIR, but I wasn't sure if it was strictly AIR-only.
Any help appreciated. Thanks!

The w520 touch pad is the worst I have used on any notebook. If you have used any macbook pro or recent dell or toshiba touchpad, you are in for a shock.
The problems are this:
It is way too small,
has nobbles which make my fingers sore,
is innacurate and not smooth
when you enable 2 finger gestures, it is simply broken. Some times they work, some times they dont. You try two finger scrolling say 4 times to get it to work once, then suddenly it shoots to the bottom of the page. I tried all the available options - it simply sucks. Dont even bother enabling it. I suggest trying the google SW.
The trackpad on my cheap and chearfull Toshiba R830, which is half the price of the X220 and very similar spec, is stunning good by comparison. Its big enough, smooth, accurate, and multitouch works as beautifully as any mac.
I bought the W520 to do photo work on the couch so I could be with my family of an evening instead of stuck in my office. The poor touch pad is not suitable for this work, and I am stuck in the office.
Im guessing that the Lenovo engineers only use the nipple, and have never used a macbook. I used the Toshiba nipple for about 4years some 10 years ago. Since then II have pretty bad arthiritis in this finger, and cant use the nipple for pain.
If you need to use the trackpad, then I dont recommend buying a W520. Get anything else.

Touchpad went crazy for no reason : not detecting multitouch

I have a Synaptics touchpad which I could do two finger scrolling just a day ago. Today, when I try using it with two fingers, the pointer just "flips out", changing its position million times a second.
synclient used to show higher "widths" when I used multitouch (so I could scroll with pressure&width emulation), now it won't do that at all (it recognizes the width when I acutally use my whole finger, though)

I bought a new mouse and thought it was the reason, but I was already switching between touchpad and another mouse on the fly without any problem.
The second possiblity is that I was trying to dim my backlight using some driver and I might have broken my touchpad as a result, but basic gestures (edge scroll,etc) work without any problem and also, I can use it flawlessly on windows.
Any suggestions ?

I would like to say I have had this problem for a year now. It was working fine yesterday, and now when I booted into windows and back to archlinux it started going crazy on two fingers. Anyone have a solution? I desperately want this resolved.
When I use two fingers it goes crazy, when I put my finger down so it covers a larger surface area it works (but that's not the way I want it).
Edit: Okay, after a lot of googling synonyms, I got https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=77005. This solved my problems and this thread is solved.

X230T - Broken Screen - Replacement Options?

Lenovo Thinkpad X230T (3437 CTO) As you can see, I had an accident. I bought this tablet just a few weeks ago for engineering school, and the screen is totally shattered. I contacted Lenovo about my 3 year warranty status, and how to go about repairing the machine, however they informed me that my $100 warranty does not cover accidents. They said it would be $750 to fix it, which isn't possible for me. I need to repair it myself. However, this leaves me with a few questions. The screen is a 12.5 inch multitouch display. I am not sure how the touch components and display components operate. Are they combined into a single unit, or is the screen display a seperate component? I have plugged the tablet into another moniter via DVI cable, and it is fully functional, INCLUDING THE TOUCH SCREEN CAPABILITIES! After some research I have found this replacement option: https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/model/IBM-Lenovo/THINKPAD~X230~TABLET~3437/ However, that model number is only 3437, not 3437-CTO. I'm not sure if that matters, but I don't believe so. Even the 220's appear to use the same screen technology. If I were to buy this screen and replace the broken one, would the touch screen capabilities still function? Would that component come with the unit I ordered, or would the already functioning touch screen remain seperate and intact? Any help would be greatly appreciated. This has been an extremely stressful few weeks, and this has added a huge punctuation mark to that. Thanks

Wow...They look like a very greedy company, if I add this to the ridiculous amount they charge to put 16GB RAM in a machine, compared to what you can get when buying from other vendor and doing the swap yourself...

I have a tablet that i can use from testing.
Debugging however would be much more efficient using the device emulator.
HOWEVER....
On the Iphone, and samsung p1000 and 10.1 tablet I get a multitouch not supported on this device.
Wtf is that about?

I can hear my guitar and record with Audacity, but when jackd enter into the escenario everything blows up. I read that nowadays almost any sound card will work with QJackCtl with the default options. I play with the parameters and sometimes jack refuse to start. With the default options on i can make it run, but i get no sound of the racks or guitar effects processors neither the guitar tuners that use jack takes the sound from the guitar. My line input is in capture via alsamixer, but still no luck. Any clue on this? I'm skipping steps?

HT1688 I have a damaged I-Phone and I need the contents of my calendar off of it. I did not have Mobile me at the time. Can I swap out the sim card from the broken phone to a new phone and recover this calendar?

I have an older I-Phone (3G) that for some reason the body of the phone has split in two. This phone was a business phone and it had a lot of important information on it. I have a second phone that is also a 3G. On the broken phone there is a lot of important information that I need in my calendar. Im not worried about anything else but the calendar. I didn't have the Mobile Me account at that time or I would be having this problem. Does anybody know if I can ust switch out the sim cards. I just need to recover the old calendar, so im hoping that the calendar will transfer when I switch the sim card into the good 3G. If that doesn't work does anybody know of anyway that I can retrieve this information off of this phone?

Nothing is stored on the sim card on an iPhone. If you backed up to your computer the backup will contain your calendar events. Otherwise, if your phone isn't functioning there is no way to back up or extract your calendar at this point.

HT1384 My lock screen/power button on my iPod Touch is broken, and I need some assistance.

As the title suggests, I can not use the lock screen/power button on my iPod Touch, it is broken. I can use Adaptive Touch to turn the screen on and off at will, and also turn my device off. But if I turn it off, I don't know how to get it to turn back on. Could I just plug it into a charger and turn it back on, or would I need to plug it into my computer? Please help, in a few days I won't have access to it for 9 weeks, I need immediate help.

If you power off the iPod, it will turn back on if you connect it to a charger like a wall charger or a computer. I just checked with a charging source to confirm. I knew it did it with a computer.

Error during 10.8.2 Update - Appstore and iTunes Broken

Hi Guys,
I hope you can help me with this one.
I just installed the 10.8.2 update trough App Store, then it asked me to restart my computer... During the restart some error message appeared saying that the installation could not be completed due to an unexpected error, and then restarted my computer automatically.
The problem is, now both my App Store and iTunes are broken, here are the details of the error message I get when I try to launch App Store either normally or using the Apple > Software Update menu option:

Download the update manually and install. Worked on my MBP15 retina.

if the computer your music library is synct with is broken how do y transfer your music on your iphone to a new itunes on a new computer

1. Disable automatic syncing on connection: iTunes Prefs > Devices > Disable....
2. Connect phone.
3. Right-click the device tab on left border of iTunes window and select "Transfer Purchases." This will transfer all iTunes store purchased music, media and apps to the iTunes library on the computer.
It won't transfer non-iTunes store music/media (i.e. CD's you ripped yourself) and these will get deleted from the phone when you sync. There are 3rd party apps for your computer which may be able to backup non-iTunes media on your phone. Google.

[LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw] only vertical lines when scanning, scanner broken?

Hi all! I have a problem with the scanner in my HP all in one. If I scan (using the printer function or apples ImageCapture: same result) the output is just a lot of vertical stripes (in colors when in color mode). Not a trace of the image I try to scan. The lines are there even if i scan an empty white page. I see the stripes both when doing a preview scan and an actual scan. The problems are very similar regardless of if I use the flatbed or the feeder scanner (they are separate scanner hardware, yes?). I have updated to the latest software for the printer/scanner and I am connecting over bonjour via wireless. I am on Os X 10.9.1. Anybody having similar problems or is my scanner just plain broken? Now, so I know where to begin I'd need to know the following:If you are seeing the vertical lines when you copy as well as scan?Are you seeing the vertical lines when you copy from the flatbed? The document feeder? both?If you are seeing the lines from both the flatbed and the feeder are they in the same place?Once I know this I'll be better able to assist you.

My Mac has broken and I want to sell it for parts. How can I be sure that my personal data that is/was on the hard drive is safe?

My 2006 MacBook Pro has broken. There is a little bit of drive noise when I turn it on, but then nothing happens. It is no big deal. Most of my files were backed up. There are a few files I would like to recover if possible, but nothing worth a major effort.
I have seen that broken MacBook Pro's go for about $300 on eBay for parts, so I would like to sell the MacBook Pro. However, I only want to do that after I am sure that my personal data is wiped out. Does anyone know how I can accomplish that? Does anyone know of an easy way to search the old hard drive for some of the data that I lost? Can a Genius Bar take care of this stuff for me (and how much do they charge?)?

The ONLY real secure way to be sure that noone may recover data from your drive is, to remove the drive, and drill one or two 1" holes thru the disk.
A bit less secure but useful way is, to wipe out the data with a tool that's overwrite all sectors of the drive with randomized data in multiple runs.
For example: Permanent Ereaser http://www.edenwaith.com/products/permanent%20eraser/
Independent tests bring out, that even specialized recovery companies with forensic tools are unable to find useful data after such a run.

I need to install the HP drivers on a laptop with a broken screen in order to get VGA port to work.

Oh my god please give me some insight here, it is so hard to find the right answers and I refuse to lose to this technical box that's driving me nuts! So here's the run down:
My screen broke on laptop...fine. It was connected via HDMI to TV and working fine. Until one day it decided to not turn on. I think due to Windows updates and hubby had no patience so kept restarting
I tried to reload Windows on it, not thinking about the drivers, and I'm pretty sure I managed to reload Windows. Now I need the drivers to install chipset, networking etc. (which I have a disc for)
The problem is I cannot see the screen in order to click "install", I can't see the BIOS or the boot sequence. Ugh! And even if I could, the drivers are not installed to use the CD ROM or VGA port.
I can HEAR Windows start up and turn on! Doo-DO-Doo-DO lol the darn thing is working!
The monitor works in my other laptop.
Would/Should the VGA monitor work if I could get it to start in safe mode?
I've heard of a program that can streamline the driver's into a Windows installation disc so everything is installed altogether but how can I reinstall Windows if the drivers aren't loaded for the CD ROM?
Is there a way to get the necessary drivers installed? or is this notebook now garbage?

Getting the drivers is not the problem. Getting the drivers installed on a laptop with a broken screen...is the problem.
Ok, well sometimes you can't use external monitor to see what is happening in some laptops and the only real way to fix this is to fix the broken screen so you can reformat and resinstall the system again. Those are you only options at this point in time.
