Broken phone and just added Total Mobile Protection
I dropped my phone and the screen is cracked. The phone will turn on, but not the screen. It's pitch black. What is my best option at the moment? I'm a college student and don't have enough to buy a new phone out of pocket.

Unfortunately, if you make any changes to your order it will likely be placed at the back of the line and you may not get your order in time to show all your friends how up to date you are on "release day". Simply leave your order as is and cancel the insurance after you receive the phone. -
I just checked my bill online after upgrading my phone to a iPhone 6 and now I am being charged for something called Total Mobile Protection. Is this some kind of phone insurance or something?
I was never charged this before so was kind of upset to see it added on without my permission/knowledge (I specified to the Verizon Wireless agent in the store I went to that I only wanted the contract for the $60 2GB and Unlimited talk/text plan that I currently had. They said that would work).
How can I get this extra $10 a month off my bill?When you upgrade online you do have the option to deny this though the deny option is way down the page. make s it look like you have to choose an insurance option. Also I've done 2 recent upgrades in a retail store twice and both times they added the protection without asking. Luckily I always check my account so I easily removed this feature on the first day. Let's just say I won't be upgrading at this store ever again. No wonder people get mad when they upgrade multiple lines and their bill is $30, $40, $50 higher than what they a were told because of this unasked for feature.

Total Mobile Protection... not worth it?
Well, I was sold the Total Mobile Protection... sounded like such a good deal. Until I needed to use it. The $150 fee to use it, is more than the price to have the phone repaired elsewhere. I just paid $10 a month, to basically hand more money than the repair is worth to them, so they can charge me more for the repair that is supposedly covered. I feel less confident in Verizon because of this. Anyone else have this experience? I know that it would be worth it, I suppose, if I needed a total replacement, rather than a repair. But for the most part, everything that goes wrong with my phones is repairable. Which means, the plan is worthless.
Glass is glass. Even tempered glass can break. It doesn't always take a lot even for tempered glass to break. If the screen was plastic it would be prone to scratching more than breaking(Most Nokias from back in the day).
That's what you think. If you know how electronics are figured with overhead costs you would find it's safer to sell for higher than to sell for lower. Manufacturers set the price not the carriers. It's similar to how console manufacturers calls the shots on pricing(They actually mark it down as a lossless product because they will make back on licensing of games).

Nearly identical specs. One you can buy right now and is available. HTC had to spend Millions more than One Plus One for product. At $600 there is the padding for if they don't sell 1/2 of what they made. If they sold it close to cost and they had 1/2 left they'd be taking a loss. They make 10M+ units instead 250K units at a time which is a lot of overhead.
One Plus understands this and buys in limited quantities and has a lower price. However Try and see if you can buy one right now? You can't because they don't buy enough to produce to mass consumers. If they don't sell well they'll take a minimal loss, but then they can't make as much sales and people get impatient. One Plus One is the most laughed at company right now because they are doing an invite system because they can never meet demand with the way they have it.
Which system is the correct system or a better system?
I am going to use HTC right here. I broke an unlock HTC M7 screen. HTC charged me $140 and I had to pay $40 shipping each way. If I had insurance at the time I would have broke even for the most part.
Apple for a broken screen out of warranty is $199 as stated for their out of warranty repair KB flat rate unless it's an older phone(iPhone 4S or lower for example).
Sorry to say, but anything with insurance there is always a deductible or some sort. Ironically some of them actually make you pay it upfront regardless of what happens. Personally I have insurance due to my job. I have had phones fall 200-300 ft and I would never see the phone again. Sadly I have this happen often enough my boss forces me to get it.
Here's an example of some of the things I do when I am out in the field. Keep in mind what this guy did is illegal. He shouldn't be up there. It's closed off for a reason, and only authorized personnel should be there.

I have a macbook 4.1 with osx10.6.8 and just added memory (2gig) so I could sync my new IPhone and Ipad. Now I'm told at the apple store that I need to upgrade my operationg system. They said they couldn't help and gave me conflicting advice about what to do. Any ideas? Thanks you!
There are three models of MacBook that comprise the 'macbook 4.1' category, and each of them a little different; however other than 'macbook 4.1' the other thing they have in common is they all are considered Early 2008. Two are white, one black, polycarbonate case, Core2Duo 2.1GHz, 2.4GHz white, 2.4GHz black.
So if you can determine which one, if any of these, is the model build year and spec you have, that would be handy. Did you tell whoever you spoke to the serial number of your computer, so they'd know by looking up the specs to see what the supported maximum RAM upgrade capacity was, and other minimum requirements to make any upgrade to Mac OS X 10.6.8 at all?
If you have the serial number you can do a lookup to 'indentify by serial number' online, and use that information to determine if the computer needs even more RAM to take it past the minimum for Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and then get it ready to upgrade (via paid download from App Store, Snow Leopard gets you that far) and see what the next supported OS X full upgrade would be for the hardware limitations on that old MacBook.
If your MacBook IS a 4.1 build, the highest OS X it could run if it has the 2.4GHz cpu, is Lion 10.7.5. That would be an upgrade from the App store, available to OS X 10.6.8+ computers that access it online. And I kind of doubt how supported a newest iphone etc may be in lion.

The Apple? store or whoever you talked, to may have been as accurate as they could be without further research. Could be you may have a newer or older MacBook, which would change whatever later OS X it could run past 10.6.8. And to go past Snow Leopard, you need to download the last bits for 10.6.x to be able to go and get any later upgrade. The ones that may let a newest iphone or ipad work with it, are past SL10.6.8
Anyway, as you further verify the model build year and configuration specifications, report back.

If the purchases are all from the same account then you can share the content by authorizing each device.
If you have separate accounts then you have to be authorized to use the content purchased from another account.

I had the developer preview for IOS 6 on my phone, and just got a message telling me that my operating system is no longer active. How do I get my phone activated again?
I had the developer preview installed. Never had to update to the release version of the OS. Now, the preview has expired, and I cannot use my phone because my iTunes reads my OS as being current, but my iPhone cannot active. Any ideas on how to fix this issue?If I Google for Michael Superczynski, first match tells "Michael Superczynski's Profile : Apple Support Communities". It in fact does a lot of work there even if not paid.
And yes we do not have disagreement about "official apple developers". Problem is that Apple screwed our devices because we are "official apple developers" and did effort to stop us getting proper help. I unbricked my ipad and iphone thanks to unofficial help. Thank you who wrote this unofficial help and "no thanks" for apple for ruining my access to my devices. My mistake was assuming that "update" button on my devices works. It did not because it always told "Your device has latest IOS6 installed" until it bricked yesterday.
If Apple does not want to listen us, continue do delete post, blame us installing your software and yes we stop buying your devices and developing for them.

If you're referring to activation lock, no. If the phone is activation locked, you can not activate it without the credentials originally used to lock it.
Why don't you explain exactly what the problem is.
If you have a passcode set and don't want one, then set up Touch ID to make it faster for you to access the phone. Turning off the lock screen passcode entirely is not smart. -
I have a 3G I Phone and Just got a new PC. Have run a sync in I tunes but none of he songs, etc. in the I phone have transferred over. How does one accomplish this taks?
Only iTunes purchases may copy over via File > Transfer Purchases - otherwise syncing is one way, from the computer to the device. To get the rest of your music/films etc onto the new computer you can copy the backup from your old computer onto the new one and then load them into iTunes

A broken phone is never a fun time! You can download the Verizon Cloud desktop app here http://vz.to/IsygQ6 and back up the Verizon Cloud content to your computer.
You can also wait until you activate the new phone on your line and just sync the content back to your phone from the cloud.

Have ipad2 & just added iphone5. iCloud offered to sync my calendars but it took blank iPhone calendar as default and wiped out my iPad calendar with my "life" on it! Can I recover the lost info?
If you backed it up to your computer using iTunes, restoring to the backup should recover it. (Apple's documentation isn't clear about whether or nott an iCloud backup includes your calendar events but it may.)

I updated my phone to iOS 7 and ever since then I don't have the App Store. It's really frustrating because I have restored my phone and it still doesn't have it. I don't know if it can be fixed, but if anyone knows how to fix it please let me know!

I Am trying to make a calendar in iphoto. I have the latest ipad and just installed iphoto so everything should be up to date. There is supposed to be a calendar option in the toolbar. There is non that I can find. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
The Apple iTunes webpage for iPhoto for iOS has no mention of calendars. iPhoto for iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation), iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G, iPad (3rd generation), iPad Wi-Fi + 4G, iPad (4th generation), iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular (4th generation), iPad mini and iPad mini Wi-Fi + Cellular on the iTunes App Store
AFAIK is only available in the iPhoto for OS X on the Mac.
