Broken Reset Button on SG 300 Switch - Need to reset
I can't seem to reset my switch and realized the reset button is missing/broken off. Is there an alternate method to reset the switch to factory settings? If not, how do I figure out the IP of the web interface, it is not the default.

Is the web interface simply not loading or do you not have the password? Your DHCP range does not matter unless there is another device on the network that is currently assigned 192.168.1.254. If that is the case you will have trouble accessing the web UI. It is usually easiest to plug ONLY a PC and the switch together and assign a static IP to the PC:
IP Address: 192.168.1.200
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: None
DNS Servers: None
This will allow you to access the switch without interference from other network devices. Remember to change the PC back to DHCP when you are done. If you do in fact have an IP conflict you should also change the switch to a different static IP.
You can also access the switch using a console cable. You can check the settings and see if the web interface has been disabled or you can reset the password in case you lost it. Check the Admin Guide for details:

My Z22 works fine. Touchscreen works great and all the buttons work fine. I wanted to do a hard reset and nothing happened when I pressed the reset button. I tried holding the power button and pressing the reset button and still nothing. I've pressed the reset button 20 times quickly and still no reset - not even soft reset. I've pressed it while on and while off and while connected to the wall charger. I'm positive it is pressing in. I finally downloaded a hard reset program and downloaded it and it did a hard reset. I've tried the rest button again after it reloaded and still nothing. I've had the Z22 for about two years and no issues. Now I find that my reset button doesn't work. Anyone else have this issue? Any ideas how to get it working again? I guess if it's not messing up I probably won't need it, but then what if it messes up? I've searched for this problem and couldn't find anyone else with this issue.

All you need to do to force a shutdown is to hold the power button down for 5 to 10 seconds.
You should not use the reset button to force a shutdown. It is for resetting the PMU. -

If you computer is working fine you do not need to reset this. It is not a maintenance procedure.

Reset button is broken. Which pins do I short to reset my Airport Extreme to factory defaults?
I'm working on a 4th Generation Airport Extreme A1354. I do not know the password and I was not able to perform the software, hardware, or factory default reset procedures. (I never got the fast blinking amber light.)
I suspected a broken reset switch and took the gray cover off to find the reset button was indeed broken. Upon slight maneuvering, the button fell off the board.
I think I can perform a factory default reset by jumpering where the reset switch was. Which pins do I short to perform the factory default procedure without the reset button working?
Trying to upload pictures that show my issue.I don't often work on extreme.. mostly Time Capsule.. but the switch is surface mount.. no pins go through the board.. you will need to lift the board right out of the frame, (it all comes out in one piece and is fairly easy to do).. and you will need to short the two pins right at the switch .. but hopefully with it right out the switch itself will become accessible.

Well, then the only option is to try some of your common passwords or different combination of user name and password.

Inactive (or broken) reset button on my Ze
Hello! I recently tried using the recovery tool on my zen V to diagnose any issues. The player had been charging on the computer for some time but was not being recognized by the computer itself (not unusual). So when I tried to use the recovery tool, it obviously said there was no player connected and thus couldn't continue the diagnosis. That is fine and dandy but the problems now are much much worse... After that, I tried removing it and re-plugging it in. The player was detected but not recognized by the computer (strange, I've used it on this computer before). I wasn't overly concerned yet but then the player itself started acting strangely --> freezing while "restoring library". I used the reset button and went to the recovery mode to reboot the player. The player rebooted successfully and restarted the song it had cutoff when the battery died. I tried going to other menus and then the player froze again. Once again, I used the reset button to get into recovery mode and tried to re-boot. It once again froze when trying to restore the library... so I tried the reset button yet again. Finally it loaded, started playing the song again and when I tried switching the menu, it froze YET again! Now, my reset button will not work and it is stuck with the screen on, sitting in the menu section. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do I've owned the player for < year.

In the AS3 help docs it doesn't say gets or sets, whereas in the AS2 docs it goes on about doing such things with that property... so maybe they changed the compnent for AS3?

I rarely use radio buttons components. If I need them, I usually create my own using movieclips. If you go this route then you'll be able to decide what they can do, you just need to create the functions for controlling their behavior as a group.. -

Broken reset button covered by warranty?
Whilst trying to reset up my TC, I've managed to snap the reset button.
I'm guessing this is going to void the warranty, although it didn't seem to give any, and all I did was push it in trying to feel it give any, when snap!
Any ide if this would be covered under warranty?
The trouble is, I can't now seem to get it going again, having tried every combination of restarting the MBP, TC and modem. But the MBP just won't see the TC in Airport Utility, even when connected by ethernet.
The TC is permanently stuck on a flashing amber light, and the sound of either the fan or HD spinning noisily.Yeah - I'm going to be making an appointment at a Genius Bar in the next few weeks just before we go on holiday to get them to give the MBP a health check, as its been suffering from this :

It says my security answers are wrong, so I guess I need to reset them, it says to click the rescue email button that shows up under the questions, there is no button that shows up.
You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.

just updated my iPhone 4s to ios6, now my phone won't turn back on. The apple logo comes on and sits then shuts off. Then comes back on and just sits.I have held down the home button and on/off switch several times to reset, but same problem persists.
Place iPhone on Wall Charger for at least 10 minutes. Then keep on charger and Reset, hold both home and power buttons until the iPhone begins to start, this can take about 20 seconds of holding both buttons while on charger. If still problem, open iTunes 10.7 on computer, connect iPhone to computer with USB Cable, hold both home and power buttons for about 20 seconds until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode, then click Restore button of iTunes. If still problem, try DFU Mode Restore, here are the steps. Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer with USB cable. Hold both Home and Power buttons, after exactly 10 seconds release the Power Button, keep holding the Home button until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode, usually about 20 seconds time. If the iPhone screen is black, blank this is DFU Mode. Click the Restore button of iTunes. DFU Mode can be difficult to enter sometimes, just keep trying. DFU Mode is a black, blank screen with iTunes saying Recovery Mode. If still problem and there is Warranty or AppleCare make Genius reservation and take to Apple for resolution.
