Broken screen and software issue
Recently dropped my iPhone 5 and the screen is cracked.
It had a pre existing problem in which I could not always hear people on the phone and had to put it on speakerphone just to speak to people.
Since dropping it, the lock button has also started playing up.
I don't want apple to fix the screen because the phone still won't be working properly and I won't be able to hear people...still.
I've got a feeling they'll blame it all on the fact that I've dropped the phone, which is not the case.
Any suggestions?
Your warranty with Apple is void since you dropped it regardless of any pre-existing problems that would have been covered under warranty, so what you do now is up to you.
You can find a 3rd party to repair your phone
You can purchase an out of warranty replacement for $229
You can buy another phone
You can do nothing.
Choice is yours.

If you have backed up previously to iTunes on a specific computer, even if it has been a while, you may be able to still backup even if you are unable enter the passcode on your iPhone due to a damaged screen. You may find the following article helpful:
If you have previously synced your device with iTunes, you may be able to reset the passcode by restoring the device:
Connect the device to the computer with which you normally sync and open iTunes.
Note: If iTunes asks you to enter the passcode, try another computer that you have synced with. Otherwise, go to "If you have never synced your device with iTunes, or you do not have access to a computer" section below.
If the device is still disabled, or if iTunes does not automatically sync your device, sync the device with iTunes.
When the backup and sync is complete, restore your device.
When iOS Setup Assistant asks to set up your device, choose "Restore from iTunes backup".
Select your device in iTunes and choose the most recent backup of your device.

There's no way around activation lock. If you purchased this from someone else you'll have to contact them and have them remove it from their account as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4515. Otherwise you won't be able to use it.

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $99 for a 16 GB 5G and $149 for the other 5Gs. They do not fix yours.

IPhone 5: Blue Screen and Restarting Issue
I have an iPhone 5 and am running iOS 7.0.04. Just a few days ago my phone has had the following issues:
1) Phone randomly restarts
2) While using the phone, system will crash and the result is the Blue Screen of death. Only way to get out of this crash is to do a manual restart
3) While using phone, screen will start flickering, lines will appear on screen and I will either get a Blue Screen or a White Screen.
I have done the following to date:
1) Backed up Phone and synced/restored from my Computer
2) Erased all settings and restored from iCloud Backup
My phone is out of warranty and I think if I take it back to the Apple Store they will tell me I'm SOL.

I have a white iPhone 5 running on the latest IOS 7.0.4 and I am having a similar problem. I have had my phone for about 6 months now and have had it always well protected in a sturdy case similar to an otter box case. I have had no problems with the phone until 2 nights ago.
While on the messaging app "kik" My phone froze up, vertical pixalated lines appeared,it faded into a black screen, shut down and automatically turned on again. It repeated this "glitch" while powering back up about 3 times. Finally after having to manually restart it by pressing the power and home button for 5-6 seconds it stop.
After going back to using my phone, not 5 mins past, and it was "glitching" up again. In the past 48 hours it has glitch over 26+ times. Everytime I need to use my phone for more then 5 mins I need to manually reset it.
If you have found a solution to your problem, please post it because it could possibly solve mine. -
NB200-125 General Hardware ( Screen and HD ) issues

My wife's NB200-125 is about 18 months old and has in the last few weeks be exhibiting some strange problems. It started out with a boot failier where windows XP failed to boot, having tried to boot in both normal mode and safe mode a few times I tried plugging it in to make sure it wasn't a battery issue, plugging it in helped and I managed to get it booted and ran chkdisk which found a bunch of Hard drive errors which it fixed and it's now booting ok, a few files were lost but that could just be chkdisk deleting HD sectors.
Now in the last 2 days there have been 2 occasions where the screen has gone "blank" firstly to a black screen, and then the second time to a green screen.
Does anyone have any pointers as to where to look to fix it? I thought a HD change would sort it until these screen errors.

Of course these problems can be hardware related but before you ask an authorized service provider you should try a recovery installation to factory settings. Maybe Windows was muddled up due to the previous issues so a reinstallation would help.
So take the recovery medium and boot from it. Follow the screen instructions and restore out of box settings.
If still doesnt help its really hardware related issue and it can be fixed from an authorized service provider. -

Im getting the blue screen and spinning wheel at shutdown, computer wont turn off.
I run Techtool Deluxe and my Volume Structure fails (passes surface scan).
Disk Utility says volume is fine......
Im sure an erase and install would do the trick but I would really like to know more about what the issue is, how it happened, and how to avoid it in the future. As well as if its fixable without a clean install.
Just getting into the tech side of life so any direction on troubleshooting this issue would be much appreciated.

HHi! I recently had to turn on my iPad due to a broken screen.. Received my new one yesterday but my photos are not showing in And unable to retrieve them from iCloud.. Also, on the new iOS seven how do you closeout your apps ? Majorly technologically challenged!

Xpress Music, Broken Screen and addressbook
Hi Guys,
I have a express music 5800 and a broken screen. I want to get the addressbook off the phone and perhaps some other data, but from memory if I try to do this with PC Suite I get prompted for "Data Xfer Mode" or "PC Suite mode" on the phone when I first connect it to the PC. Not being able to see the screen (cause its broken) how do I get around this?

My screen just "broke" in that it only comes up white (when backlight is on). There is no black so, so no information can be seen/read. It is under warranty (11 months old), but when I try to don the online support for it and I put in the serial number, say yes to the big EULA, and then it asks me to login to .mac. I do so and then get the following error:

Hello, I recently dropped my iPhone 3GS with an incase on it and the screen broke. I know apple doesn't usually cover these drops. But ever since dropping it my phone has not been working well. At times I can't send or recieve any texts or go on the Internet until I turn it on and off again. I have to do this multiple times a day. Would apple cover this and give me a new one or what can I do to fix it?
There are a couple of options you can check, and none of them are Apple. First, does InCase warranty against damage to the phone? Also, some credit card provide damage protection for items bought with the card. And finally check your homeowners or renters insurance.

Z1 compact touch screen and connectivity issues
Hi,
I bought a new Z1 compact in Feb 2014, I encountered issues that tool bar on the top moved up and down automatically and movely very fast on the first day, also, the new device auto turned on wifi, bluetooth then disconnected 3G connectivity (default) then the screen started to pop up different screens.
The vendor where i purchased replaced brand new device to me, but so far, it has been the 3rd brand new Z1 compact device and I continued encountering the above issues again and again that I would appreciate to obtain direct support from SONY rather than endless change to new device but same issues are still there.
I recorded those abnormal screen shots, if necessary, i can upload those issues for your easy reference and check further.

Driver and software issue, please help!
I am having an issue. I am running itunes v 7.2 and ever since, I get a message saying "disk burner or software not found". I have tried everything listed on these boards, including rebooting, updating the GEARS driver, etc. And nothing worked! I could only do the 32 bit GEARS though, the other two said my system don't suport them. Apple needs to come up with a fix. It looks like a lot of people have this issue! It is also a turnoff to itunes for people, including myself as I am considering droping itunes all together if this issue is not resolved. Even if it means I loose the songs I bought. I will just have to buy them again with another program and burn them on a program that works. I ran the diagnostic and this is what I got:
