Broken Screen Nokia 6288

I just need some help on the price of fixing a problem like this.
One guy punched my phone while it was in my pocket and the inside of the screen has cracked and now won't display anything.
Here are some pictures of what the crack looks like:

So if anybody knows the cost of fixing at a Nokia Care Centre, it would be a great help so I can get this bum to pay up

  • Broken screen nokia 5000

    Hey,
I recently broke the screen on my nokia 5000. I don't care about the rest, I just need to be copy my girlfriend's number over from my phone onto my sim card.
I can get to her name in the contacts menu, as I've managed to call her with the screen broken, but am not sure how to do anything from there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Email her on your PC?
Try this Down(navi key)>type her first name>>center button>left soft key>Up 3x>center key>down>center key>type in phone number where you want to send the business card from your phone>center key.
Unless the Nokia 5000 has more or less options in the menu than a 5310/5610, that should work.
If you find my post helpful please click the green star on the left under the avatar. Thanks.

  • Broken screen Nokia 5530

    Hi,
the other day I dropped my Nokia 5530 and the screen is broken. A multitude of colours and lines appear and it is completely unusable.
I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if this is a problem that can be fixed or do I have to buy a new phone?
Also if it can be fixed where is best to send it (Nokia or Carphone Warehouse/another independent phone repair Centre)? Also how much generally does this sort of problem cost to have repaired?
    Thanks in advance,
    Alex

  • Broken screen Nokia Lumia 920

    I need your help..
So dropped my phone and the glass is in thousanad pieces...
Phone still works so I need to replace the screen..
I have looked in many forums so the replacement should not be too hard or too complicated.
BUT, how can I be sure to get original Nokia screen.. ? I have seen many thats transparant, should be greyish..
Why do not Nokia sell/offer links to original spare parts distributors.. they only offer if they make the repair (200€), which is approx the new price of the phone today!
    Greatful for all help!
    Thanks!

I want to find the original replacement part for the L920 but I live in Paraguay (whe don't have Nokia care, whe have ANOVO service but there cost me (only glass) the 90% of my cellphone price that I bought from Amazon.com whene in my country cost 3 times more), yeah I kwo we hate when you try to find the original piece and no one can help you, you buy a generic and is not the same but how you can identify the legit? so my advice is wach the youtube video and try to see how is the part of the flex cable and that's will help you to buy a new glass digitalizer (yeah it **bleep** you of nokia is not selling the parts for people who knows to repair things and when you try to find help or links they say "you can't talk about 3rd party replacement" but we offer you to pay a new cellphone to have your like a new) like user that's sound for me "we make phones but when you crack your screen buy a new one, we don't care"... the ugly truth

  • Nokia 6288 - white screen with battery icon

I've had problems with my Nokia 6288 since very soon after I bought it.
I turn my phone on and it just has a white screen with the battery icon. I can punch numbers into the keypad to call out, but I cannot do anything else.
Any idea how to reset the phone or anything that might help me be able to use my phone again?

does it say "phone restricted"? if it does, it is a matter of either updating to the latest firmware via Nokia Software Updater, or just take out your battery and reinsert it and turn the phone back on. i too had similar problem as to what you are describing.

  • Nokia 6288 says nokia then white screen then black...

nokia 6288 says nokia then white screen then black at least 4 times then switches off its happened twice ive replaced the first one its a day old then the next one did the same thing now im awaiting for a call from the phone company i bought it from
    NOKIA N73 MUSIC EDITION

  • Nokia 6288 white screen

ok, i just called my mum, then 20 minutes later i looked at my phone at the screen went totally white. Its done this a few times before and fixed itself after 30 secs. Although this time it didnt. It is completely white!. everytime i switch it on there is just a white screen, flashes for a bit and turns itself off, so i cant actualy get on it!
does anyone know hoe to restore factory settings without going onto the phone?!
this is the second time ive had trouble with this phone. its ridiculous

    Hey,
There has been a massive number of Nokia 6288's with this problem or similar in that the screen was flashing white, the problem was so large we were considering the flashing white screen as a sellin point !
Any handsets we've had with this issue just needed a software upgrade, you can do this yourself through the Nokia download and support service or by dropping it to a Nokia Service Centre or back to the place of purchase where they phone may be sent for software upgrading which generally takes 5-7 working days.
    Hopefully Helpful,

  • Nokia 6111 Broken Screen - Turn on Bluetooth

    Hi,
I am yet another person with a Nokia 6111 with a broken screen. I have read through multiple foums and found lots of people asking the same question:
What key strokes do I need to turn on Bluetooth?
Remebber: I can not see the screen, so your instructions will need to be something like this:
    Center button (opens menu)
    Down x3 (Settings)
    Select
    Down x2 (Connectivity)
    Select (etc)
** NOTE: THE ABOVE IS NOT CORRECT - THIS IS AN EXAMPLE! **
If you can exaplin what each stage is doing so much the better.
Once I have turned Bluetooth on I plan on connecting to PC Suite to copy contacts - if you are able to check what I need to do to set up and accept a new connection then I would be REALLY grateful!
    Thanks,
    littleIdiot

    Try this:
    Centre Button (Menu)
    Left
    Centre Button (settings)
    Down x6
Centre Button x3 (connectivity > bluetooth)
    Up (on)
    Centre Button (select)
If it works you will hear a beep.
It may be easier to transfer your contacts if you get a data cable.

  • Nokia 6280 broken screen

Through 3 I purchased a new 6280. Within days it fell out of my pocket with the result of a broken screen (only a minor crack but screen display completely gone). Would appreciate any advise on how to get it fixed or how to source a new screen?

I said TRS are a main repair agent for 3, I never said if they are good or not. Having been in the trade for more than a few years most of the big repair hubs are a bit useless. TRS do sometimes give prefferential rates to help 3 customers stay on line.
CRC are not without their problems either. Seen the mobile press recently ? What a really shocking state of affairs, but then again I'm not shocked, I always knew they were bad, it's just taken ages and ages to make it public knowledge.
Then there's MPRC in Stoke, then again part of Caudwell, so enough said.
The only ones I would trust with my own Nokia if I had to are some of the smaller independants or perhaps Intec in North London.

  • Nokia 6288 screen troubles :(

A few days ago, the screen of my Nokia 6288 stopped working properly. The screen became really pixelated and it was all blurred. Sometimes the screen just goes black.
From what I can tell, the phone still works perfectly well.. it's just the screen that won't work.
I've only had it about 10 months and haven't dropped it or anything.
I was just wondering if there was anything I can do to make the screen work properly.. Thanks!

Yeah, sounds more like a HW fault.
    Try what sandy said.

  • Nokia 1209 with broken screen i need contacts.

I have a broken screen and i need to copy the contacts from phone to screen. Does anyone know the keystrokes/steps to do this?

I think the ´up´on this answer is for a phone with a 3x3 grid. Does anyone know the key sequence to get into ´contacts´ with a list menu?
    Thanks

You will need to exert an effort here (Bluetooth transfers).
But why don't transfer them to the SIM card memory instead?
Middle button> Up> Middle button> 7 downs> Middle button> Middle button> Middle button> lastly middle button again. There you go

I got a Nokia Lumia 520 via Vodafone 6 weeks ago.  The other night the screen froze completely and I couldn't do anything, even turn the phone off.  I looked online at suggestions and tried to reset the phone, but nothing happened.  So I then decided to take out the battery.  I followed the online instructions for removing the back, and the screen just shattered.  When I went into the Vodafone shop they didn't believe that the phone had crashed before the screen cracked and won't do a free repair.  On top of that, I have lost all my contact numbers because they couldn't retrieve them via bluetooth because the phone wasn't working. Apparently with these windows phones the contacts are saved to the phone, not the Sim, so I am now completely stressed out, have lost numbers that have been transferred from phone to phone for over 10 years and have a huge bill to pay.  I am not at all happy. The only reason I bought a Nokia was because I have had several others over the years which have been brilliant -this one is definitely not and I think Nokia should be compensating people if this is a common problem.
Your phone contacts are saved to your windows live account, you can go to www.live.com, login with the account that u used on your phone, and export contacts to a file.
Also if you use the same live account on a windows phone, contacts will be restored to the phone
    The silence will fall

  • I need help for NOKIA 6288 please

    hy!
i got my nokia 6288 recently. does anyone knows how to hide that irritant BACK and STOP signs when you watch videos full screen on it?
    thanx, Vox
p.s. sorry if i posted this in wrong topic cause i am new here!=)
    Edit/Delete Message

No, just tried it. They're obviously there so users know how to stop the playback or return to horizontal screen mode, but it's not the best design with the words overlapping the video-clip. There are no other options available whilst playing videos in full screen mode.
