Broken speaker?

I have a problem with calls - the speaker simply doesnt work! Sometimes it helps when I turn on the loudspeaker option, but not always. I've checked the speaker in "diagnosing" and everything works well, it seems not to work "only" when I'm making calls. The problem begun after updating to lollipop.

Performing a software repair using PC Companion. The process will erase all internal memory. You might need to charge your device for about 1-2 hours before so the device has at least 60% battery.
Make sure the device is not connected to computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press power button and volume up until the device vibrates 3 times or on some devices you have to press the small button near the SIM tray or on the back of the device).
Open PC companion->support zone->phone/tablet software update->repair my phone/tablet blue highlighted.Follow the steps given,do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable. If PC companion does not start the repair process, you might need to run it in compatibility mode with Windows 7 (in some cases XP).

  • Broken Speaker on 8900 HELP!!

I just bought by 8900 from a t-mobile retailer. Unfortunally I, by accident, dropped my phone on my bowl of cereal and it became submerged in MILK!!!..... anyways.. everything works fine on the phone no damage on the lcd.. all keys work... except my speaker.. I can make calls but i cannot hear the other person. I'm currently using my bluetooth headset to make calls...
I took the phone to tmobile unfortunally warranty is void due to "water" damage.. (or milk too) So given that I can repair the phone myself I have looked online and am trying to find a new speaker for my phone. Does anyone know where i can get one?
or at least lead me to a broken blackberry that i can use for spare parts... thanks in advance

  • I have an iPhone 4S with broken speaker right now, I took it to the Genius Bar and was told to pay $199 if wanting it replaced. Is there anyway I could, get an iPhone 5 instead of 4S, even for a more expensive cost?

So here's the thing: a few days ago I found the volume of the speaker on my phone going very low when I pick up the phone, I could barely hear anything. We took it to the store and was told that we'd pay $199 if wanting it replaced, or getting an iPhone 5 for $130 for a maxplan. Ok, so it's next to impossible for me to give up my plan cause you can't find a plan nearly as good as mines at this price. Then is there any other way to get apple to give me an iPhone 5 instead of 4S even for a expensive price??

    No.
All warranty or out of warranty replacements are of the same model only.

  • Broken speaker connection

Somehow, my mother managed to break the plastic off of the speaker connection on her iMac. The Pro Speakers will no longer work through that port. I talked to Apple on the phone and they told me that it's covered under AppleCare if they determine it wasn't accidental damage, and I can bring it in to my Apple Store. Well, I see no way they could conclude that it wasn't accidental damage, and I'd rather not lug the thing all the way to the Apple Store only to have them tell me it's not covered.
So is there some sort of adapater I can use to connect her Pro speakers through the headphone port, USB, or FireWire? I read about something called iFire, but it doesn't seem to be available anywhere anymore.

I agree the better option is probably new speakers. The standard 3.5mm audio out jack will work with any speakers.
If the Pro Speakers are intact and the Pro Speaker (2.5mm) Jack is defective then you could go for the iFire adaptor that allows you to use Apple Pro Speakers through a Firewire port. (£££)

  • IPad exchange for broken speaker

The speaker on my iPad 3rd generation stopped working and I called apple and they said I have 172 days left in my warranty and they will exchange my iPad. Will my exchange be for the new iPad 4 and does it matter if the iPad is in mint condition?

Thanks personaly I think they should give me a new ipad 4 there is not a single scratch on it and I have never touched the screen. If I have an LTE account on my current iPad how would I transfer the acount to the refrub iPad?

  • Anyone else seeing a patte

Ok, last straw has been reached. Count me among those who refuse to spend a single dime on any creative labs product from this point forth. The driver support for Audigy 2 ZS was almost enough, but when I tried to contact creative labs about replacing a broken speaker from my gigaworks S750, I realize these people don't have a FREAKING CLUE. I wasted more than enough time first emailing creative labs "support" about buying the S700-2 (so I'll have a spare in case another one should fall), which they said no more than to call a phone number, but I'm at work more often than not past their operating hours. So finally get on the phone and they say its not for sale anymore. Ok, no problem. I'll just RMA it. Ok, so i call technical support, and after following the prompts for a while they tell me that I've basically had these speakers too long and I don't qualify for? PHONE SUPPORT and then it hangs up on me. So I scour the web site trying to find out where you can get an RMA. If anyone can see it at http://us.creative.com/support/custsup/services.asp? Let me know. Because I've been through every link there and it all leads back to the same spot: SCREWED. If there is ANYONE who can find out how to contact creative to do an out-of-warranty replacement then you win a cookie.
So what does this have to do with windows vista? DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATH FOR DRIVER SUPPORT. Or any support for that matter. To HELL with creative labs and their BS.

Directsound and Directsound3d were with us for a very long time and became part of the furniture with regards to Microsoft operating systems. Customers are simply expecting that a driver download will give them the features that they enjoyed in XP and in Microsoft products before XP. This attitude?is on the whole pretty understandable. Vista has moved the goal posts and not in my opinion for the better. OpenAL is not a bad product its?a genuinely decent offering but was Directsound so bad that it needed fixing? I am not convinced?it was and the stability argument in my opinion does not hold water. We have a fair few coming to this forum and they are pretty bewildered at what is going on with Vista and why features are missing that were there before and in their defense I don't exactly see Creative going out of their way to make the buying public aware of the?fact that driver level support for a whole raft of decoding abilities?is not there now in what are essentially?Creatives Flagship products. These features can be supported the Dell driver issue proved?that?driver support is possible for DD and?dts its just that?Creative simply?don't want the?added expense involved in writing the drivers or more likely they cannot be bothered to do it.
?Further to this we are getting pretty strong responses to?new members which would in tone not look out of place in a bankers letter to a client who has an unauthorised overdraft of a few thousand Dollars. Cut the invecti've folks its not big and it certainly not clever. If you like invecti've so much go practice it on your family and friends and see if they like it. As for our friends the forum moderators I don't exactly see them blowing the whistle on what?amounts to?some shameless and disgustingly condescending posts by some members.Message Edited by Alexiussooty on 07-0-200702:35 PM

  • Help. Garageband guitar distortion

I've recently upgraded to Snow Leopard and now, when I create a real instrument track in Garageband for my guitar, the output sound is badly distorted like a broken speaker. The bad sound occurs when I am plugged in with my m-audio usb recording interface, or my Lightsnake guitar chord which is a direct usb chord. So the cause is neither the m-box or the lightsnake (I've tried both in every usb port). I've tried it with all other usb ports unplugged, different chords, same result. I've got everything selected correctly in main sound preferences and an garageband prefs. The crackling sound occurs with two different guitars with two different cords.
My M-audio Keystation 49e usb keyboard works fine. However, if I create a real instrument guitar track, the keyboard starts making the same terrible output noise, even though it's a different track. Delete the guitar track and the keyboard track returns to normal.
I've used Garageband for four years without a problem.
I've posted about this maddening dilemma before but haven't received any suggestions as of yet.

Is the level of your guitar track clipping?

  • Should i send iphone back?

i have about 3 stuck/dead pixels on my screen none of them are in the middle they are all around the side. Im getting a empty box to ship mine back in should i take the chances in getting a refurbished one that could be worst then the one i have or keep this one?

I also have gone through three new phones so its really a preference.
I have never actually gotten a refurbished product but i have heard the same thing from two different companies one being apple.
With refurbished products you are getting all working parts, while some of them may be from a seperate phone and "used" while the broken feature will be replaced with a working part whether new or from another phone.(ex. screen from a phone with cracked back plastic, and a proccesor from a phone with a broken speaker put into your refurbished phone, or just a brand new piece). So while thats sounds kind of shaddy, which puts me in the wrong mindset for some reason, there is actually a better chance that phone will work to perfection.
The two different techs told me that when they complete a refurb product, it goes through 8-12 times more testing than a new phone. When they test new phones, of the assembly line they do it for basic features like turning on, running basic programs and say checking the accelerometer because they use the assumption that the pieces should be working order. With a refurb they over test to make sure things work together and especially the parts that were faulty before hand.
Again im no expert but i had two different companies give me roughly the same explanation for how the refurbs work. But then again you can probably just go to an apple store and they will swap it out.

  • IPhone replacement unit (Black Box unit)

I just bought an iPhone 4s, when i activated the handsfreespeaker(loud speaker) was not working,it was not even 24 hours since i bought, i went to the store they also confirmed it arrived with broken speaker, they gave me an option to replace my iPhone with Replacement iPhone which particularly comes for replacement purposes, but i'am curious the replacement iPhone come's in a black box unlike the newly bought one. Idon't believe that replacement iPhone's are newly made they might be refurbished. It was arrived broken to the store i didn't even use the phone properly, so do i have any option to get a new fresh iphone 4s rather than the black boxe'd iPhone (replacement unit) because it's not my fault at all. What are the alternatives which i have in this case, i really don't want go for black box iPhone 4s. ARE THE BLACK BOX IPHONE 4S GENUINE?

There is 30 days return period in US for every iPhone, just return it and get another one. You running a bit of a risk that will be someone else's return, but heck that is what you want. I think sentiment like yours is the reason, that Apple does not sell refurbished phones (everything but ...). Me personally had luck with refurbs (so far), didn't have much luck with new stuff last couple of years. By the way warranty is the same. I hope mr solution answered your question.

  • Multicam audio levels/meters??? - Premiere CS6

Is there a way to see the audio meters while in the multicam window?
The audio plays fine but is there really no way to monitor the audio to see if its peaking or not, or what level its at, unless I stop the multicam and play it in the timeline?
All the source clips, all the timeline clips, all the project window clips all enable the audio levels/meters.
Why not the multicam? Seems odd.

Audio is the other half of what editors deal with so I kinda do need to worry about it.
Agreed.  Just not from the MC window, but from the sequence where you can actually make changes and adjust things.
Then why do the audio meters work when playing clips in the project window? Yes, the sequence is where changes are made but being able to monitor what a clip looks like or sounds like outside of the timeline is essential to any good NLE. It's not editing, it's monitoring. Just an oversight on Premiere Pro's design that I hope they fix asap.

I'm starting to learn that you are the king of "that's not what I care about so it must not be important".
It's actually more often a "how can I get this job done with the tools and features that are available to me right now" kind of attitude.
While that's a practical approach and certainly one that will cut down on stress, that's also the mindset that allowed for companies like RIM (Blackberry) to fall behind their competitors. I prefer a more "work with what you've got but if something's missing or broken, speak up" approach.  My hope is that the PPro design team actually listens to their users to make it better. We all have things we wish would improve or be fixed and if we all just said "eh, it is what it is" then nothing would ever improve. I'm more of a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it...but if it is, then stop making excuses and fix it". I know the absence of something as simple as audio meters doesn't mean mulitcam is broken, but its an example of an oversight on the part of Premiere's design team that I hope they fix. It's a very simple feature. Every other NLE I've worked with has it. It helps the workflow especially with long multicam sequences. There's no reason it shouldn't work like it does if you play a clip anywhere else. Now its just a matter of if they care enough to fix it.
Truthfully, I was hoping it was just a glitch with my computer and someone was going to chime in and say "it works for me" and I'd have to re-install or something and then it would work. But I guess not. We all work with the tools and features that are available to us right now, but if adding a functionality that should have been there from the beginning can speed up my workflow then I'll gladly be the squeeky wheel.

  • Problem when trying to transfer messages using the...

    Hey all.
I rang Nokia Support today, but they didn't seem to understand the issue that I was having, so I've decided to post it here.
I reesently sent my N95 away to be repaired, because it had a broken speaker. I got it back on monday, and decided that I would try and transfer the messages from my old N73 to the N96. I launched the Switch application on the N95, and turned Bluetooth on on the N73. I selected the messages option from the list, and hit the ok option. After fetching about 250 messages, I noticed that the status line on the screen wasn't updating, so I figured that for some unknown reason the message transfer had crashed. I hit the stop option on the N95, and got a message stating that the connection had been broken. I checked in the inbox of the N95, and saw that some of the messages were there. I attempted to transfer the itoms again, and this time the connection held. However, upon recieving all of the messages from the N73, the N95 informed me that It was sending messages to the N73! I figured that this must be because it was sincrinising the messages that it had first attempted to fetch (the first time, when the connection broke). When it had finished, I checked in the inbox of both phones. The N95 had the correct number of messages, and so, surprisingly did the N73.
So my question: does anyone know what would have happened to the messages that the N95 attempted to fetch first (the time the Bluetooth connection broke half way through), and the messages that the N95 had transfered to the N73?
I am assuming that may be after transfering both of the phones look through the messages, and if it finds any messages with the same timestap it just overwrites them. If someone knows the answer to this question, please let me know.
Sorry for the long post, and I hope everyone understands my question!
    Thanks a lot in advance,
    Elliott.

Never had a transfer crash on me before. Apart from using switch to transfer, I also use it to sync my phones and that also involves the messges being transferred back and forth except I do it fairly regularly and I have yet ended up with any duplication. Hence, your theory about the phone checking checking for dupliction is probably correct.

  • Sound Problems with Mainbord....Please help!

    MSI K8N SLI Platinum nForce4 Ultra 4DDR-DIMM 3PCI 3PCIe SATA-II Raid Audio GB-LAN Firewire Socket939 ATX
Hi are having huge problems with my sound.
Got all the gadgets last week. And have built the computer now. Everything is installed, all the drivers i got with the Box.
Now the problem is that the sound i very "crappy". It sound´s  like a broken speaker. i have tried with different speakers and the problem persist.
Ive tried changing drivers and all that, and checked all setting. But nothing changes...
I get sound, but it sounds like hell. Cant almost not hear what´s playing or what are said through the speaker.
Is it a hardware problem, something broken on Mainbord??????
    Somebody know?
    Please help.

    Just as a suggestion. . . .
I would remove the soundcard and clean the edge pin connectors.  The "static" type sound could be comming from a resistive connection in the edge connector.  You may also try running dxdiag from your "start / run" menu and see if the sound results are better.
Also, (even though the sound card is new), you may want to blow out the pin connector in the back of the card (where you plug in your speakers) and try reseating your speaker cable again.
Someone above mentioned power.  That could easily be an issue if you have alot of hardware and a power supply that is not up to par with your gear.
EDIT:  For some reason, I thought you had a soundblaster card.  So, pls forgive the card removal information.  just trying to help!
Just some stuff to check. . . GL!
