Broken superdrive, how do i get a fresh install
So i have a late 2006 black macbook. It came with tiger, but i bought the leopard upgrade dvd when it came out and installed that. Someone stepped on it and now the superdrive doesn't work. Not that big of a deal to get fixed since i never used it. I just bought a new mbp so i want to get a clean install of my old macbook so i can give it to my brother. the laptop just isn't as fast as it used to be so i want to start from scratch. I have both the original tiger dvd and leopard upgrade dvd, but how can i do this without a dvd drive? from what I've read, i can connect my new mbp to my old mb in firewire target disk mode, put the tiger disk in and boot the mb from there. then put the leopard in and do the same thing? does that make sense? is there an easier way?

my macbook will seem to be an external disk drive on my macbook pro, and from there i can erase the hard drive using disk utility. then i'll put the tiger disk into the mbp and install it on the "external disk drive"?
If you boot the MB into target disk mode and connect it, it would indeed appear as an external drive as seen from the new MBP, but you then would be asking the MBP to boot and run a Tiger install DVD that is not only machine-specific for a different Mac, but also contains an earlier OS version than the version that the MBP shipped with. I'd be surprised if that worked.
Instead, I would do it "the other way", booting the MBP into target disk mode, borrowing only its DVD drive, and running the install from the MB as host. That way the MB boots and runs the same Tiger disk that it came with. To do this, shut down the MB, insert the Tiger DVD into the MBP, and restart the MBP while holding down the T key, booting it into TDM. Connect it to the MB and then start the MB while holding down the Option key. This should boot the MB into the startup manager, and hopefully you will see the Tiger OS X install DVD as one of the startup choices. Select that, and proceed with the Tiger installation. Be sure you pick the correct "Macintosh HD" (the MB's HD, not the MBP's!) for the erase and install.
If this works, you should be able to do the same thing with the Leopard Upgrade DVD.

This is what you should have done...
To roll back to iTunes 10.7 first download a copy of the installer from here, uninstall iTunes and suppporting software, i.e. Apple Application Support & Apple Mobile Device Support. Reboot. Restore the pre-upgrade version of your library database as per the diagram below, then install iTunes 10.7.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to scan the media folder and catch up with any changes made since the backup file was created.

Keep in mind that the recovered photos will not be in their full resolution, but instead will be the scaled down versions that were optimized in size and resolution to fit your iPod's smaller LCD screen.

If you are referring to RAM, the Air's RAM is not an upgradeable component. The RAM memory is soldered to the main board, and there are no expansion slots.
It is the price Air owners pay for miniaturization. Every Air is manufactured with all the memory it will ever have. Shop wisely.
It is technically possible to upgrade the SSD storage though, but will probably void any warranty. -

What installing the twain plug-in, you mean? Go to your applications folder. Find the Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 folder. Look in there for a folder called support files, then for a folder called optional plugins. In the Optional Plugins folder, there should be a folder called ImportModules. Just drag that from the Optional Plugins folder to the regular Plugins folder.

I have been on the notification list for nearly 10 years with no action.
Current DSL download speed is only 3.0 Mbps, the max available for copper twisted pair, so I am told by tech support.
Unless Verizon will install fiber in my neighborhood, my only option to obtain faster internet service is to change to another provider, though I would prefer to remain a Verizon customer.
Any suggestions for alternate providers, under the circumstances?

I've been waiting 13 years and every town around me has Fios, in fact my town is a small [27k population] city who provides the phone exchange numbers for the surrounding towns with Fios! Figure that out. I myself have given up and am moving on to Time Warner for my internet and phone and will not return even if fios does appear before the end times.. They are actually cheaper than verizon when flat rate phone service and real broadband speeds are figured in. Verizon only has last century's DSL technology available. Leave verizon, they don't care if do or not.

The installer should have gone into your Apple Software Update folder:
C:\USERS\<user name>\AppData\Local\Apple\Apple Software Update

I purchased the Logitech F310 game controller for my 2011 MacBook Pro. How do I get the driver installed for it. The Disk that came with the controller is a mini disk and will not insert into my laptop.
May not make a difference anyway. The Logitech support site does not show drivers for Mac OS for the F310:

I'd contact their support to find out if there is a Mac driver available, and if they can either give you a web link to get it, e-mail you the software, or snail-mail you a standard-size disk with the drivers. -

I cannot get itunes to download. I have a PC with windows 7. I had itunes but got a message that told me to uninstall and reinstall intunes. I uninstalled but now can't reinstall. How can I get itunes to install again? I click on the download itunes button and it immediatly takes me to the page that says thank you for installing itunes. But it doesn't install. I bought Lion some time ago I did not do a recovery disk and now I had a huge crash. I started over with Snow Leopard cause that's all I had. How can I get Lion re installed?
Make sure you're up to 10.6.8 through Software Updates, and then re-download Lion from the App Store.
Incidentally, many Macs (from 2010 models onwards) have the ability to run Internet Recovery, even if your original hard drive crashed, which will allow you to re-download and install Lion directly from the internet.
But the best way is always to have a local backup of your system drive.
