Brouser will not open for a link from an e-mail.

This morning my computer updated to the new Firefox. After doing so when I open an e-mail in my thunderbird box I cannot click on a link in an e-mail and have the brouser open to that link. If I press on the link, nothing happens. I can however right click the link then copy and paste. I would rather be able to click on the link and have that open in my firefox brouser like it always did with past firefox versions.

Click Tools | Options | Advanced and in the General tab, checkmark "'''Always check to see if Firefox is the default browser on startup'''". Then click the "Check Now" button to test it.

First, Safe Boot , (holding Shift key down at bootup), use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions, test if things work OK in Safe Mode.
Then move these files to the Desktop for now...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.recentitems.plist
Reboot & test.
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.

There is something odd in this message.
Even under Lion, Pages 08 is able to open Pages 08 documents created by Pages 09.
I guess that the OP made a typo and that the docs were created as Pages 09 documents.
In theory, the availability of iWork 08 on a machine is not supposed to disable the ability to buy Pages 09 thru the MAS because the iWork 08 registration scheme is not the same than the iWork 09 one.

When you select a "group", it automatically selects everyone in that group.
If your just trying to add other people outside that group, then in the "To" make sure the curser is just after the last entry and you can hold your finger on that line to get your contact list to pop up or after the last entry you should have showing after that ;

You can middle-click a link to open the link in a new tab.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Additional tab will not open for links

previously i have been able to click on a link, and the link would open in a new window or tab. but now whenever i try to open a link through a website, it will not open the link in a new window or new tab. how can i fix this?

Hi ArletteGH, I'm not sure which one of these is the better description of your issue:
If you Ctrl+click or middle-click a link:
* Firefox creates a new tab, loads the link in that tab, but the tab stays in the background rather than being made active (default behavior)
* Firefox creates a new tab, but doesn't actually fetch the page until you make the tab active
* Firefox creates a new tab, but the tab and address bar stay blank, as though the address never got transferred to the page

Downloaded iOS 5 and set up on i Cloud...restored kindle apps ...all books are shown in Archive,but they will not open for reading ...have reinstalled the app several times no success...any cure

I downloaded the new iOS 5 ....lost most of my apps ..restored them...however the kindle books app does not allow me to open books previously purchased from Amazon...the books are shown in the archive,but will not open when placed in home...a mesage comes up to uninstalll the books from "home' and uninstall the app and reinstall...which i have done to no avail several times...any cure for this?

Where's a smart person when you need one? My iphoto just will not open for no reason at all(I REALLY NEED HELP)

I have not done anything strange like changing something in my computer or IPhoto. One day it just decided not to open. I dont have my photos backed up from IPhoto and I really need the photos on there and Iphoto itself to graduate in two weeks.
I will click on Iphoto and it'll jump twice, open but it will be totally blank white and immediately have the spinning rainbow wheel and it never loads. I'll then put my mouse over the icona nd it'll say "IPhoto not responding" and everytime I have to force quit. I really dont understand what happened.
I have googled for days variations of "My Iphoto will not open" and none of what people are saying helps at all because all of them have done something to mess up their apps. I really really need help, please, its got to be something so simple because I didnt change anything on my computer.

As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

My i-tunes 6 will not open on my computer. A few times at one point it flashed the user agreement and then died. It does appear in my windows task manager but only for a few seconds. I know some peopple have suggested a malware problem. I have been working with my brother, who makes a lving fixing other people's computers, and we cannot seem to isolate the malicious program causing the problem. There is an application in the msconfig utility that is called "qxjj" that will not delete. We believe this is the problem. I was wondering if anyone had encountered this particular program before and if they knew how to get rid of it. Ewido, spybot and microsoft anti-spyware have not appeared to get rid of it. Any help would be appreciated.

gaah. i think you and your brother have correctly diagnosed the problem.
there's a Qoologic variant that has been causing "error-less" itunes launch failure since late October. it's associated with the "license screen flash" symptom. it also drops randomly-generated-4-and-6-letter-name startup items in people's PCs.
Ewido and AdAware have typically been getting rid of it for people, so it's a bit disturbing that they aren't touching it in your case. however, we also have a "manual" removal technique that has been working for people. let's see if Dave's technique works for you:

Will not open on the screen from the taskbar.

I have windows 8. Firefox will not open on my screen. I click the icon on the task bar, it runs but there is nothing on the screen. When i hover on the task bar icon the thumb nail shows above then when you click it it goes away. You can close from the thumb nail. That is all that happens. Explorer & Chrome load with no problem. I hope you can help with this problem as I use Firefox as my main browser.

I am sorry to hear that when you open Firefox that nothing pops up on the screen, but if you hover over the Task bar that one of the open windows can be closed from here. Can you click on that window to maximize the window that opens?
What has been recommended in the past is to remove the localstore file from the Firefox profile, as it may have become corrupt [kb.mozillazine.org/Toolbar_customizations_reset_on_startup]. However an easier solution may be to Reset Firefox by starting it in Safe Mode. If you hold Shift and click on the Firefox icon you may do this. [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]] , reset the profile from this menu.
