Browse movies for rent
I do not see an easy way in Itunes to display for browsing just the movies that are available for rent in their own category.
This is not a consumer friendly way to do business.
If I already know I do not want to "buy" a movie, but want to "rent" a movie online, why won't Apple provide an easy way for the consumer to see and browse the movies available for rent?
As a consumer, I would rather go to another marketplace to look for my movie rentals instead of endure the user interface provided which forces me to review movies that are only available for purchase.
In my opinion, Apple is losing rental business they would otherwise get from me and other consumers which do not wnat to purchase a movie, but would rather rent. I have to believe this is a concious decision and not an oversight based on some misguided attempt to force the consumer to make a purchase instead of make a rental.
The implicit question was "Where/How can I browse movie rentals on iTunes?" Perhaps the feature is/was there, and some other user could point me to the right menu option or link or drop-down menu or somewhere inside of iTunes to do a rental category search/browse.
But, thanks anyway for pointing me to where I can provide Apple feedback.

Are there fewer movies for rent, pushing purchasing?
Why are there fewer movies for rent via itunes on my AppleTV? Movies that are available for rent thru other services (windows, amazon, etc) are only available for sale in itunes. I don't want to purchase movies, I want to rent them as I previously have done for the past 2 years with my AppleTV. Anyone know what's going on?
I think this is a better question for the iTunes forums (as opposed to the ATV forums) since it's more specifically an iTunes question.

Movies for rent on iTunes?
Is there a way to just search for the movies that are available to rent? Seems like everything I pull up is only available to buy.
Is it SD only?
AppleTV2 is a bit stupid - it only lets you configure to show content that's either SD or HD in Settings from the store.
AppleTV1 showed you SD if it was only available in SD, or SD and HD with their respective prices if both available - far more logical.
Remember you can always rent in itunes then once downloaded to itunes the file will be available under Computers>iTunes Name>Rentals category (only appears if itunes has a rental to play). iTunes must of course be running.

Movies for rent and purchase in Ireland
When will we be able to rent and purchase movies in Ireland? What sites can I go to legally purchase iPod movies?
Just create 2 different playlists like
Movie-ATV
Movie-iPod
Put those video files with higher resolution on playlist Movie-ATV
Put those video files with lower resolution on playlist Movie-iPod
in iTunes Preferences choose your ATV only to sync the 1st movie playlist - and your iPod only to sync the 2nd one. -
I was try to down load a movie late nigth I didn't got my movie I don't want to pay for I didn't get?
In iTunes, select File/Preferences/General>When you insert a CD:> and set the option you prefer. I think these options have changed with recent iTunes updates, so your choices will depend on which version of iTunes you use.

How can I stop a download of a Movie for rent in HD to my iPad? There isn't enough time to download it. I shall have to download to my PC and probably the standard version and then sync the iPad.
I think your best bet here is to contact the app developer. Sounds like you need advanced troubleshooting that someone who is a part of the app would know best how to resolve. Best of luck.

We're do I find the movie I rented if it's not on my downloads
I downloaded a movie for rent and I can't find it anywhere and it says it's downloaded. We're do I go?
If you've downloaded it directly on the iPad then it should be in the Videos app (iTunes on the iPad is just the iTunes store) :

I recently downloaded "Inequalirt For All," a movie by Robert Reich. I loaded $20 onto my iTunes account and there was a special where I could rent the movie for $0.99. I rented the movie but have not been able to download and play it. The error message says that there was a problem with my download even though it charged my account. I have gone through the troubleshooting steps and have reset my computer. The rental does not show up on my iPad or iPhone either. I would like to watch this movie! Please help! Thank you!
Hello Yazan1,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
How to report an issue with your iTunes Store, App Store, Mac App Store, or iBooks Store purchase
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1933
Find the email receipt for your purchase.
Click Report a Problem under the app that is having the issue.
When prompted, enter the Apple ID and password you used to purchase the item, then click Report a Problem.
Click Report a Problem next to the item you are having an issue with.
From the Choose Problem dropdown menu, choose the appropriate issue.
Follow the onscreen instructions and—if prompted—type a description of the problem into the text field.
Click Submit to have your issue reviewed.
Best of luck,

how do a get a refund on a ridiculously slow downloading rented movie for my apple tv dispite a >5mb/sec down load speed? my first experience with appletv movie rental. no good. rented at 4:30pm. still waiting for standard def movie to finish at 8:10pm. Not good enough.
Thanks for the pointers folks. Yeah, 1.5GB is pretty poor isn't it? There are other suppliers, but you have to get a their phone line installed to access the internet so it's an £85 setup fee plus a day off work for a guy to come round and drill a hole in your wall before you even get to the monthly costs.
Don't get me wrong though - I'm certainly not an Apple basher, but am equally frustrated with both them and the ISP.
Virgin Media spend all kinds of money advertising their broadband as the fastest in the UK, but don't tell you (up front anyway) that you'll be cut off if you actually try and use it.
Apple on the other hand carry on with their 'it just works' mantra, but with Apple TV this only applies if you meet certain criteria (again, not mentioned up front).
I guess it aint a biggie, as i was gifted my Apple TV, and love all the other stuff it does, but from the number of posts on this forum can see that there's a lot of angry customers out there who want explanations as to why they're having similar problems to me.
Will be very interesting to see if Apple release any kind of software update that turns the flash drive from a buffer to permanent storage, to at least ease some of the pain...

Apple TV good option for renting movies?
I'm thinking of getting the Apple TV and one of the things I'd be looking to do on it would be to rent movies. Is it a good option for renting movies? If so, is there a huge selection of rentals? Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
There is plenty to choose from with New Releases and a decent back catalogue. It all depends on what you're looking for. Time it takes to load depends on your network (2.5mbps for SD, 6mbps for instant 720P, 8mbps for 1080P). It will be 'ready to play' once enough has loaded in order to play without interuption.
