Browser can't load HyperTrend in a Remote Panel Application

I use the Remote Panel Function (LabVIEW6.1 + DSC6.1)to publish a Front Panel.
When I load the Front Panel with a Browser (IE6 or NS7) i can see all elements on the Front Panel except the HyperTrend.
I get an empty space where is written "Element could not be loaded".
This appears only on machines, where no LabVIEW is installed. (But of course the Run Time Engine 6.1)
What could be the reason?
Thanks for all help
Thomas

Thomas,
I think you don't have the ActiveX control on your remote computer.
You might copy the hypertrend.dll from your DSC computer to the remote computer and run regsvr32 "c:\winnt\system32\hypertrend.dll" to register the activeX control.
With this you might see the ActiveX control in the Remote Front Panel.
However, I don't know exactly if you would see traces and if you could browse back to the remote database. For sure you would need as well Logos/Citadel services running on the remote computer to do that.
A good point about limitation of ActiveX controls in Remote Front Panel is menioned in : Why Doesn't My ActiveX Object Update In A Remote Panel?<

  • Airport says connected, but browser can't load any page

Hi all mac geniuses, I just got a wireless modem/router from my DSL provider, and after I selected it and entered the password on the Airport menu, Airport says I am connected. However, the web browser can't load a page like it doesn't have internet connection. Is there something I missed during the setup?

No, Three feet away from the wireless. When i connect to the cat6 cable, I have no problem with the high-speed of the router.
It's only trying to disconnect and go wireless that I have a "fake connection" if you will
The 404.2 is the number I got from system profiler
the whole firmware info is: 404.2 (3.90.34.0.p16)
as they say in Shakespeare: "For my part, it was Greek to me"
Remember this is an internal card on my laptop, so the numbers might be different...
I truly appreciate any help/wisdom anyone might have on this matter.
I'm probably going to call Netgear who make this new smokin router and see what's up

  • Browser can't load sites using 1.4 plugin when service is running

    Hi,
I am having some strange problems and am hoping someone here might be able to offer some insight to help me solve it.
Some customers have reported a problem with our software that runs as a service on Windows machines. When the service is started, they cannot use IE or Netscape to view sites that require the Java 1.4 plugin [They have 1.4.2 installed].
We tried to reproduce the problem here and were unable to. We tried a different machine and now can reproduce it all the time. All of our test machines and the customer's test machines have the same software installed - except for hardware drivers.
    Here is what happens:
If the browser is open already, and our software service is started, then the browser has no problem connecting and viewing applets that use the 1.4 plugin.
If the browser is not open when the service is started, then when the browser is opened one cannot view applets that require the 1.4 plugin.
So, it seems as though everything works fine as long as the browser is open before running our service. If the browser is closed when the service is started, then there seems to be some conflict with the 1.4 plugin and the browser will not load sites that require it.
Any ideas what may be happening here?
    Thanks!

    Hi all,
I have the same problem. If I start Tomcat 5.0.24 as a service on my Win2k and
open a page containing an applet (using 1.4.2_02 plugin) the IE hangs.
If the IE started before the Tomcat service then it works fine.
    Any comments would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Peter Bartha

  • How can I disable messages generated by Remote Panel?

I created an application (EXE) to server its panel to other network clients.
I used the Tools > Web Publishing Tool to generate a HTML code to create two different web pages to access this application using Web server:
    - Embedded (for some users who need visualize the panel in real time).
    - Monitor (to display panel snapshots to users updated every 1 second).
I don't need anyone controlling the remote panel, so I used this option:
Tools > Options > Web Server: Browser Access and checked Allow Viewing (not controlling) for every client connected.
Ok, both are working fine. But it a user try to Request control of VI on the Embedded page (right click in the remote panel), the application running in the server displays a message: Denied control request from XXX: Check permissions.
The embedded page stills working fine, but in the Monitor page that message appears in a box (see attached picture below)..
Is there a way to disable all messages in the remote panel? I realized that I need to access the computer where the application EXE is running to close the message.
    I'm thinking in two solutions:
    - Unable the right click menu in the embedded page to avoid clients request control of the remote panel.
    - Run a code in the application to erase messages generated.
Has anyone an idea how to solve this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Klein

    Hi Dpcamargo,
I'm already using monitor with a delay of 1 second and this doesn't seems real time like remote panel visualization.
But you sent me a good tip: use java code to cancel right clicks at all....
    I will try this solution.
Hey, we are both brazilians! So, thank you so much, Dpcamargo.

  • Browser can't load certain pages

I experience this problem with Safari, Firefox and Netscape. Certain pages -- ESPN is a good example -- load halfway and then stop, and all I get is the spinning rainbow ball. I always have to force quit. This started a few weeks ago. I assume it's a plug-in of some kind, but reinstalling Firefox didn't seem to help. Any ideas? Thanks!

    Hello there,
Do you have a style sheet [ CSS ] you are using in Safari-> Advanced Tab? if yes set it to none, and see if that helps.
Whilst in Advanced tab check your network settings & make sure you've no proxies checked on.
In " View " Check your Text encoding try using Unicode.
Have you tried a restart,if the puter that can help.
Have you run permission repair and see if DU reports any errors.
In Utilities Disk Utility, First Aid tab. do not bother with verify perm.
do run repair permissions. Stay on the left side of the Disk Utility
< [ not repair disk ] if you know already, sorry.
Good Luck, I hope something helps..

  • How to set up the time a user can control a remote panel

    Hi Everybody.
I'm doing an application using remote panels, however, I can't find information about how can I limit the time a user can control the remote panel.
I've seen in the Property Node in Remote Panels:Connection To Clients the value "Control end time" which I supose it contains the time when the control is returned to the server but I have no idea how to modify this.
    Best Regards.

Hi inner_trax, actually LabVIEW does not provide such a feature natively; however you can start thinking about having your remote panel VI shutting down after some specific time and then having in your server another VI running always and that each specific time ti starts the remote VI; think about it, it may help you reaching your goal.

  • Labview Remote Panel and Client Aspect Ratio

    Dear all professionals,
I had create an application with remote panel (webserver) enabled. I found that there is relationship between aspect ratio of client device display and the remote panel screen size. Here i attached two images of remote panel in browser which both remote panel are opened using different aspect ratio of client device.
The left 1 is the device with 1.5 aspect ratio while the right 1 is the device with 1.78 aspect ratio.
As you can seen from the images, both remote panel are shown in different size. May i ask do i miss something in the remote panel configuration?

    Hi Michel,
Thank you for your reply. I also notice that the zoom % of browser is one of the issue that caused this behaviour. In the same aspect ratio with server computer( where the application running), changing zoom to 100% will help to fit remote panel that I already set when I developing the remote panel vi. But if for different aspect ratio, no matter how u change the zoom % , it won't fit the frame. I just wondering whether got another solution for this issue or not :-(

  • Remote Panel suddenly stops downloading at about 90%

    Hello,
I have a Vi running in a cRIO and I want to control it with a web browser (Internet Explorer 7). The cRIO is connected to internet with a GPRS modem (MultiModem GPRS from Multitech).
Because the GPRS connection is low bandwith, I can open remote front panels of small VIs, but the main Vi, always, stops downloading exactly at 90 seconds and that means a download of about 90%, as can be seen in the image I´ve attached. To open the remote front panels of small VIs tooks less than 90 seconds.
The timeout for WebServer Configuration, in the cRIO, is in 360 seconds. I have, also, modified, witout success, the KeepAliveTimeout = 600000 and ServerInfoTimeou = 600000, for Internet Explorer (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/813827/en-us).
So, any idea about what could be hapening?
    Thanks.

    Hi James,
Good morning and thanks for answer.
I forgot to mention that I have made another test, that consist in connect the cRIO in our LAN, and I can open the remote panel without any problem. Obviously it took less than 90 seconds to download.
I have attached the images of the main vi. I proved to remove the grafic and all the decorations but the size remains very similar (about 229000 bytes).
I didn´t mention, also, that sometimes download only 50%, it depends in the upload rate, the cRIO  have, when opening the remote panel. I also tried to open,  without success, directly from Labview.
Yesterday I made another probe, I´ve developed a vi (lets call intermediate vi) that is hearing the TCP port 80, and when a connection is established, it opens a connection with the TCP port 6342 in the same PC. After that, all the string received in the port 80 are redirected to the port 6342 and all the string received in the port 6342 are redirected to the port 80. It can establish multiple connections of these type. In that PC I have a Vi (lets call test vi) and the Labview webserver enabled in the port 6342. The purpose of the intermediate vi is to add the delay you want. I´ve inserted delays biggest than 90 seconds and instead I can open the test vi remote panel with the browser. Another interesting thing is that remote panel opens two connections to the port 80.
I hope you can understand me.
    Thanks.

That file might have moved to a different location on the server. I think you'll need to check with RefWorks support or your local IT department on why the install page links do not work.

  • I get the "Fast Browser Plugin not loaded" message every time i run  safari and I can't find an MTWB folder anywhere on my hard drive?

I get the "Fast Browser Plugin not loaded" message every time I run  Safari and I can't find an MTWB folder anywhere on my hard drive?  This doesn't seem to be causing a problem, but is a puzzle?

    1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem.
    2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
    3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. All it does is to collect information about the state of the computer. That information goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. However, you should be cautious about running any kind of program (not just a shell script) at the request of a stranger on a public message board. If you have doubts, search this site for other discussions in which this procedure has been followed without any report of ill effects. If you can't satisfy yourself that the instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed: Copy a line of text from this web page into the window of another application. Wait for the script to run. It usually takes a few minutes. Then paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page. The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. Details follow.
    4. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
    5. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
    6. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste (command-V). The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
    8. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "syntax error," enter
    exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
    9. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
    10. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
    [Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report the results. No harm will be done.
    11. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
    12. When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If that happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.
