Browser 'find' isn't working. no popup appears for search criteria.

I often use the 'find' function on the browser to locate a phrase I may be looking for. It now just sits there when I press find on the menu. Nothing appears.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

It is possible that the screen is too high and that the find bar and status bar fall off at the bottom.
Open the system menu via Alt+Space and see if you can resize that window.
If that works then close Firefox to save that setting.

-I've installed recent updates today.
-I'm using CS5.5.

-My Computer is an Acer Aspire.
-I think I've already tried to recreating Flash Professional preferences; I did the Hot-Key combination, Windows asked me if I want Flash to make changes to my computer, and I let it.
So here's what I've got so far.
So apparently the Find and Replace box for .fla files can't find anything if I tell it to find anything over 1 line.
So, if I typed in
" (It's just the enter key pressed once)
And asked it to find all instances of that, it says no matches found, even though the .fla contains many instances of starting new lines within the ActionScript codes in specific frames of Movie Clips.
The same problem seems to happen with Tabs (" ").
Help?

Update: It seems like the Tab key is working fine.
Also, if I open up the ActionScript on a particular frame and edit it, the Find function now works, but only for that particular frame; it can't find instances of the enter key outside the code on that frame.

Ovi mail web browser access isn't working

Hi all,
Wonder if anyone else has this problem. My Ovi mail which has been working beautifully all this time has suddenly decided not to show me any mails.
I can see the mail headers displayed in the upper portion, but when I click on it, it doesn't display the mail content.
Any solutions?

I'd maybe try doing a search for Safari on your iPad first (swipe to the left to search). If it shows up in that search you can go to Settings > General > Reset and choose 'reset home screen layout' which will put it back where it would be by default.
All else fails? Restore it.

ERROR: browser.tabs.onTop not working now, my reason for using Firefox gone forever now?

In the latest FF, setting the browser.tabs.onTop has no effect. I believe this is completely wrong step in UI because thinking of the user's focus:
- The web page is the 'topmost' content having user's focus for the most of the time
- The next are the tabs which he/she recently opened
- Only then come the bookmarks
- And finally, only then comes the address line
Moving the tabs to the top means you force the user to move his attention/focus from the page contents skipping the lower priority areas (bookmarks, address line). This distracts the user and is simply bad news.
Being quite simple option, I see no reason why the browser.tabs.onTop functionality was removed. This effectively removes another important advantage of FF over Chrome/IE. I know Classic Theme Restorer (Customize Australis) add-on, but don't want to rely on such things.
Is THIS what the proclaimed customizability of Firefox is about these days? Sad.
After many years of FF use in our company, I'm sorry but I will reconsider FF usage in our company if these things don't get fixed soon.

Release strategy on doc. level isn't working because different values for B

Hi,
At my company we just created a new release strategy (3rd) for PR's. The old strategies were on item level, the new one is on document level. This is the third strategy in the system and with every new PR the strategy is decided based on the creation date (table EBAN field BADAT). For example:
Strategy 1 - BADAT < 2009.01.01
Strategy 2 - BADAT >- 2010.01.01 AND BADAT < 2011.01.01
Strategy 3 - BADAT >2011.01.01
These selection criteria are stored in the class.
This used to work fine between the 1st and 2nd strategy but now it doesn't. Whenever a new line item is added on a different day than the other line(s) the value's for BADAT will be different within the PR and the system isn't able to select a strategy. It's like no value is used for BADAT because there are more than 1 available. As a result the release tab will disappear and the PR will be ready to create a PO from it.
For example:
Line 1 BADAT 15.09.2011
Line 2 BADAT 15.09.2011
No problem releasing the PR
Line 3 BADAT 17.09.2011 added (release strategy reset)
Release tab disappears so no release can be done. However, this PR line 3 can now be converted into an PO without being ever released.
One solution we thought about is using the PR number BANFN. But no ranges are allowed in the class so it doesn't seem to work. Another option is to delete al the old strategies but what will be the consequences for all the old PR's?
We are not sure what to use. Maybe someone else worked out this issue before or has an idea?

First of all why you want to release a PR based on Creation date ?
Anyhow, as I understand from the above explanation, since you have created your 3rd strategy @ header/document level. You are facing this issue.
If you have a strategy @ document level then why you want 2 separate strategies @ item level.
Following are the possible solutions as per my understanding
1. You can make the 3rd strategy as item level itself so that the different creation date for different items wont be a problem.
2. You don't have to delete the Old release strategies instead you can remove the characteristics assignment so that release strategy wont be determined @ item level & you can keep the new release @ document level. But in this case you cannot have creation date as a characteristic since it will result in the same issue..

There have bee a few reports of faulty chargers. Take your charger, cable & iPad to a Apple Store for evaluation. It will be replaced if defective. Make sure the 30-pin connector is fully seated, especially if you are using a cover.

Drag and Drop isn't Working

For some reason drag and drop in the Finder isn't working. If I click on a file or folder it highlights, but when I hold the click and attempt to move it, it stays put. The cursor moves but it doesn't take the file or folder with it. So I can't reposition folders and I can't move them to other folders or the Desktop.

I restarted and the problem resolved itself. That's going to be a work around for others experiencing the issue but I'm not fully satisfied with that being the case. This only confirms there was some kind of bug in play and that the OS is vulnerable to these kind of issues. I'm hopefull Apple will look into this as one of Mac OS X's strongpoints is supposed to be its reliability.

Finder Doesn't Work At All!

I have a Mac Pro (10.8.2). My finder isn't working at all. I click the icon on the dock, I click Command+N or even from the menu bar. It doesn't open at all. I can't even access the Library folder to delete the plst files.
I tried to login as a guest user, and it was working like a charm!
So could this be related to a third party application or something?

It could be.
Hold shift and boot the system. Keep shift held until you see the apple, gear, and a progress bar. Then, let it boot up. This will take you into safe mode, where login items are disabled. If everything works fine here, you can go to system preferences >> users and groups >> unlocked the lock in lower left >> click login items in the upper right-ish area. You could try removing any login items there.
Before you do that, though, if it does boot fine into safe mode and works there, you should be able to try removing the plist instead. In case you don't know, click the go menu >> hold option >> click library >> go to preference folder. You could remove the finder plist there, and may want to consider removing the sidebar plist along with desktop plist.

CPU fan isn't working on Hermes 845GV full and Lite

i have here an hermes 845GV and when i switch it on, the cpu fan starts for about half an second and stops then, same problem with the lite version.
so, can this problem be solved or do i have to send it back to msi? (both comps are new)

it works fine, except the cpu fan isn't working, it only starts for about half a sec when u switch it on, when u connect the cable with the plug for the 2 side fans it works fine, but when the cpu fan isn't working, the cpu gets too hot and the computer crashes, and so the os installation is destroyed, that's the reason why i found that problem

Make sure you set the speakers as discoverable, which usually involves holding down a button for a few seconds. Go to System Preferences / Bluetooth and you should be able to add it.
