Hello,
I have installed forms 9i and i set Internet explorer 6.0 as the web browser. While i run the form it gives an error WEB CLIENT IN TOO NEW VERSION.
I am not able to go back to Exploer 5.o, since it is not possible in the winodws 2000 operating system.
Could you pls give me a idea to solve the problem

Opening .XFDF files without browsing for form

I have created a form that has an email submit button. The button is opening my email, adding the address and subject, and attaching the .XFDF correctly. The problem I am having is once I receive the email, I always get this error when I open it:
The File you are attempting to open contains comments or form data that are supposed to be placed on. This document cannot be found. It may have been moved, deleted. Would you like to browse to attempt to locate this document?
I am wondering how I can embed a standard file location (such as C:/forms/title of form) so that I don't have to do this every time. I know it is possible because my company uses this same form system for our ticketing system and we didn't have to search for the file until and automatic update for Adobe Reader 8 came out. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

It's possible to use JavaScript to submit a form using a mailto type URL and specify that the file specification of the PDF from which the XFDF originated does not get included in the file. For example:

Unfortunately, when Acrobat executes this it does not give the user the same option to save the data file locally so the user can attach it manually to an email message, as it does when you use a "Submit a form" type action.
The problem when you set up a "Submit a form" action in Acrobat is the user interface provides no means for specifying that you do not want to send an F key with the data file (like it should). However, it may be possible to set up such an action with the help of an appropriately configured FDF file that the creator of the form could use to configure the submit button. I haven't confirmed this, but will if you're interested.
In other words, it is possible to set up a submit form action that excludes the file specification, which would solve the problem you're having. If the JavaScript option above won't work for you, the other ~might~ be an alternative.

Is there a preferred web browser for submitting PDF forms, or can recipients submit the form via any of the common browers like Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, etc.?

We support all of the major browsers: Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome.

Domain Digital Signature for InfoPath 2010 browser enabled Form

We have developed InfoPath 2010 browser enabled Form and added sections to be signed. The form is full Trust form and admin published to the server. I need to know if it is possible to use a Digital certificate from our organization to sign it this form.
We cannot Install ActiveX on the clients machines. This is DOD.

Pdf reader requirements for forms designed in Livecycle

HI guys,
I have designed a few dynamic pdf forms that was developed using Livecycle Designer ES. These forms are online fillable forms and I will be uploading these on my site so my users can open these forms in their browsers, complete the form online and print it out for their personal use. These forms are more like online tools for the users. For this, I also have to provide a Troubleshoot guide to my users so they can refer to this if they are unable to open the forms or having trouble viewing the forms properly. So right now I am working on creating this Troubleshoot documentation and I dont want to give the wrong info to my users so I have some clarifications and some doubts and wondering if you guys can help me out..
1) From what I understand, I think the users need to have atleast a v.8.0 of Acrobat Reader in order to fill these dynamic forms that was designed in livecycle designer ES. This is right? I think so based on my memory since I believe I read this somewhere. Would you be able to clarify this? Have I got the right version?
2) Also, further to this I understand that the users need to have an Acrobat reader browser plug-in in order to open the pdfs in their browsers. So, I will be adding a list of various pdf plug-in download links for various browsers.
3) I was wondering, what happens if the user doesnt have acrobat reader installed in their computer? What are the common other pdf readers that various users use? I know there are tons out there but I am trying to understand the common ones that majority of the people use other than Acrobat Reader. I mean users having mac or other OS. Will these forms also work in other pdf readers? Is there are a list of various pdf readers & the versions requirements in order for these livecycle forms to work?
4) Other than the above points, do you think if I need to mention anything else in the troubleshoot documentation? Any points I may have missed?
I am sorry..this is the first time I am uploading these online forms and I am trying to understand the requirements so I may be able to assist my users if they do experience any problems. So any help is very much appreciated!

Some users are having problems viewing my forms I created using livecycle:
1) I have a created a few dynamic forms designed using livecycle designer ES..In order for my users to open these forms, they need to have atleast Adobe acrobat / reader version 8.1 or higher to view these dynamic files. However, quite a few of my users are saying that they are still unable to open these forms directly from their browser although they have downloaded the latest Acrobat X version and the browser plug-ins in their computer. It happens to both windows and mac computers. But they are able to download these files and open it directly from their adobe reader though. It happens with all browsers for them...some of them have even called up mac support as well as adobe support and they were advised that it could be a problem with my forms that I find hard to believe since it opens in my computer and opens for a lot of other users. Its only a few users still having this difficulties and I can't understand why! They have also tried enabling "Adobe Reader" as a default problem to open pdf files by opening the adobe reader. They also have tried uninstalling and re-installing the readers and still the same problem. These LC files just dont open inside their browser for them.
2) Also, I recently uploaded a dynamic file in acrobat file sharing. I noticed that when I click on this file sharing link, it also shows the message that I dont have the latest reader installed (something similar to what my users say about my forms), Why am I getting the below message when I have the latest adobe installed? I am able to open other dynamic xml forms in my browsers..why does this happen? I wonder if other user's problem who open my forms from my site is similar to this problem I have with acrobat file sharing...not sure... (example url: https://acrobat.com/#d=fs-E6Bqml8r0FWI8aMu09g )
To view the full contents of this document, you need a later version of the PDF viewer. You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader from etc...etc...etc..
What can be the problem when the adobe version is already updated and also the plug-ins are updated too?? I have read a lot of links in adobe site itself which suggest various methods to test out the forms, browsers, plug-ins, etc..and I also understand that it doesnt work for iOS & Android devices, but this problem still happens to some users even after trying out these troubleshoots. Can someone plz explain if there are other limitations or solution for these users?

I have an iPad 1. I filled out a PDF questionaire in adobe reader. When I send it to Dropbox, iBooks,mercury browser the form shows up without the answers . My objective is to email the completed form. Please advise as to how to do thisThanks. Big Jake

If the PDF is a form fillable PDF, which I assume that it is, email it to yourself or send it to DropBox and open it on your computer. You should see the fields filled in there. It works for me if I do it that way.
Adobe Reader supports it, but the other apps don't. I assume that if you email the PDF to a computer user it would be readable in Adode Reader.

Browsing for a file and selecting a Virtual Machine on hyper-v

Hi everyone, sorry if the title is a bit problematic.
New to Powershell here, I'm trying to create a script that will let me Browse for a .vhd file, and then let me select a Virtual Machine to attach it to using SCSI attachment.
So far I managed to attach and detach the VHD files using add-vmharddiskdrive, but using read-host I have to manually enter the address of the .vhd file every time, as well as using read-host to input the VM name.
Is there any way to browse for the file, select it, and then run the add-vmharddiskdrive command?
So far the script I have is this:
$VHDLocation = Read-Host Enter VHD Location
$VMName = Read-Host Enter VM Name
Add-VMHardDiskDrive -VMName $VMName -Path $VHDLocation -ControllerType SCSI
Basically I want to shorten the time it takes to manually type the vhd location and the VM name. Any way to do that?

I couldn't get the Select-fromgridview to work sadly, but after snooping around on several different forums I managed to copy-paste some codes and after some work and trial and error I got the script to work perfectly, except for one problem. When the box
pops up to let met select a VM, it pops in the background, as in, behind the ISE itself. So I have to alt tab to see it. Is there any way to make it pop to the front?
I'd go through the script myself but like I said I'm very new to this and honestly most of this could be Chinese for all I know.

I will assume you are using a non-IE browser (e.g. Firefox). Assuming this is true, the problem you are seeing is the result of the configuraiton expecting to find 1.6.0_12. Look in formsweb.cfg for references to 1.6.0_12 and change them to the desired version. For example, replace the current with these in order to use 1.6.0_29:

Image not displayed in pdf generated using Java API for Forms service

Hi,
I am creating a pdf document using Java API for Forms Service.
I am able to generate the pdf but the images are not visible in the generated pdf.
The image relative path is coming in the xml as defined below. The images are stored dynamically in the Livecycle repository each time a request is fired with unique name before the xml is generated.

Not sure if I need to specify specify specific URI values that are required to render a form with image.
The same thing is working when I generate pdf document using Java API for Output Service.
As, I need to generate interactive form, I have to use Forms service to generate pdfs.

IE10 Spell Check on Infopath 2010 Browser Enabled Forms

We are rolling out some new InfoPath browser enabled forms in SharePoint 2010. We are hoping to use the Internet Explorer 10 spell check functionality, as I know the InfoPath spell check functionality isn't available in browser enabled forms.
What we've found is that IE10 spell check functionality appears to only work in Rich Text multiline boxes. Single Line or Plain Text multi-line text boxes don't support the spell check, which is causing some frustration.
I found this page that outlines how IE10's spell check engine works:

It specifies that: "Spellchecking is active by default on <textarea> and
contenteditable elements, and off by default for text boxes. Web developers can override the defaults using the <tt>spellcheck</tt> attribute."
I assume this means that it doesn't interpret the single line and plain text controls as textarea or contentditable elements.
So, any idea how to set the spellcheck attribute in InfoPath, or otherwise force this? Thanks!

I understand that you want to enable spelling check in InfoPath browser enabled forms. You can add a Content Editor Web Part in your NewForm.
1. Right click the Add new item link in your list/library
2. Copy the URL and open it in a new tab
3. Add a Content Editor Web Part and add below JS code:

Forms behavior when closing browser or forms, javascript

Hi
I want to be able to run Jinitiator in separate frame, but with the possibilities to close the browser when closing the forms and in on the same html page I would like to have the possibilities to fire a message if the end user try to close the web browser directly (not by closing the forms).
I find in the forum solutions for the two constraints but if I try to put this two behavior together: message fire even when I close the forms because the post-form trigger try to close the browser. I try to put condition on the alert with a variable but do not succeed. how could I manage to setup the two behaviour together?
Is it possible to put condition in javascript to see if the end-user close the browser via forms or via the browser?

I've installed the FormsStart utility...and it looks great.
However, if I have separateFrame=true, when my forms application starts, it opens 2 applet windows.
If I have separateFrame=false, everything looks ok except that when I alt-tab to a different application and return - my focus is not returned to the field that the cursor was in.
Is this something inherent with having separateFrame=false? Is there a way around it?

Hi, can someone tell me if it is safe to use Firefox as a browser for you Mac and doe's it cause any problems?

Firefox is my primary browser and it does not cause any harm to your MBP or problems in general. I my opinion, I find it superior to Safari. Others may have different thoughts. I suggest you download it and try it and form your own opinion.

How to print infopath browser based form?

I have created infopath form and published it into the SharePoint document library.
User will fill the form and then I want to print the used filled form (browser based form).
I want a code less solution for this as it is client requirement.
I am newbie to SharePoint and don't know much about it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Password manager - browser specific - forms

Some (most these days) browsers offer a user an option to save form data when the form contains an input field with the password type. In Mozilla this is called the "Password Manager". I'm not sure what it is called in other browsers, I've probably disabled the feature, but Mozilla is NOW my test base.
The problem is that the the underlying request values are replaced by the browser's password manager. The input type "reset" will show the base html, but refresh does not.
Right now I can think of three options....
1) Change the input type from password to text and process it in the server side bean wrapper. Send *'s when the html table is built and bugger the password manager because there will no longer be and input type "password".
2) Force a reset on the page.
3) About 27 different scenario's

Sorry, I should have mentioned that the form I am using this in is an internal administrative web app for managing a client database. I was using the password field to mask the user password from the administrative user. The specs on this were to allow the admin user to initialize or reset a client password, but not to view the users active password. I solved the problem in a different way by adding a function getMaskedPassword to the user ejb.
I also ran into a related problem with a two column table of paired label and input cells. When the label of the first cell was "User Name" the browser's form manager prompts if you want to remember the form values on a post. To fix it I just changed the label to "Client Id".
The problem is that even though the underlying pages had the right data the managers were overwriting it with the saved data. For an administrative data entry web app this really wasn't acceptable.
