Browser hangs when an Adobe Interactive Form is

Hi Folks,
I'm fairly new to ABAP (< 1 year) and am in the process of creating my first Adobe Interactive Form. In fact it will be the first IFbA at our company, when I get done with it!
Here's the problem am facing: The Interactive Form that I'm building is called within an ABAP Web Dynpro application. If the displayType in the view is set to 'native', when the IFbA is called, the browser hangs and eventually shows the form after 5 full minutes. However, if it is set to 'activeX', it comes up with the form instantly. It does not matter what objects(WD activeX or native) I have on the form, It does the same thing.
Our System information:
SAP_Basis and SAP_ABA: 701 SP5
ADS: 802.20100902045248.720952
Adobe Reader 9
I've looked at the SAP Note 999998 and have pretty much done what they've asked for. But, have had no progress with it. I'm pretty much at my wits end. So, somebody please help?!

Goto the Layout,
Then goto Utilities->Insert WebDynproScript and Activate.

Some more information on the issue. I' am using HCM forms and processes to develop the forms.
Ther problem is only happening to two forms which are more than 200Kbytes. Is there any size
restriction for the adobe forms developed. if yes, please let me know.

Problem when deploy adobe interactive form

Hi Siva,
If you are developig your form using NWDS, make sure about the cardinality of the context parameter - data Source not 0..1 or 0..n.You may refer similar threads (of same kind of error) in this forum..
Hope this helps. Assuming you have successfully tested, ADS and the credential file at the ABAP stack, by rurnning the respective ABAP reports.

Unable to close browser when using Adobe Interactive Form

Hello,
I'm using an Interactive Form in my Web Dynpro application. Everything works fine, but when the view with the Interactive Form is active, I am not able to close the browser window anymore. Moving to another view is also not possible.
I already changed all the options of the Interactive Form but always the same behaviour.
I am developing on Web AS 6.40, Service Pack 11. ADS is installed also with Service Pack 11.
Adobe Reader is Version 7.0 and Adobe Designer is Version 7.1
Has anyone an idea what's wrong?

I am facing a problem with viewing SAP interactive forms.
I have the SAPForms.api in Adobe reader plugins but is outdated (19th apr, 05). How do I get the new one and how do I register it ? This same scenario works on a colleague's machine with same config except the SAPForms.api which is latest. (Nov, 05)

I Created a Adobe Form using SFP and integrated into webdynpro abap application,and when i am testing the application its giving the error. and the errror details are.
The following error text was processed in the system RD1 : WebDynpro Exception: The ADS call has failed. You can find information about the cause in the error.pdf on the application server
The error occurred on the application server S0164SAPDEV2_RD1_00 and in the work process 0 .

2. Moved 0004793_Exp09302008.pfx to the
C:usrsapCE1SYSglobalAdobeDocumentServicesTrustManagerService rustcredentials
3. Created two attributes:
a. ReaderRights (without sha-1)
b. DocumentCertification (without sha-1)
Assigned password from 0004793_Exp09302008.txt
Type: P12
P12 File: 0004793_Exp09302008.pfx.
4. Restared WAS.
Any ideas?

File browser button on Adobe Interactive Form

Hello,
We have a ZCI Adobe Interactive Form with XML-Schema-Based Interface.
There is a text field on the form with a button beside it. The requirement is that when this button is clicked, a file browser window should open up. After the user selects the file on PC, the file path should get populated in the text field.
I have tried using xfa.host.importData() in the Click event of the button. But nothing seems to happen.
Note that all other methods like xfa.host.messageBox() seem to work fine.
Can anybody please help?

Ok, I was able to solve it.
I placed a hidden text field on the form and wrote the following JavaScript on 'Click' event.

pa0001.Subform.FILENAME.rawValue = oFile.path;
var cFile;
cFile = event.target.getDataObjectContents(sFile);
pa0001.Subform.filecontent.rawValue = util.stringFromstreams(cFile,"utf-8");
This will upload the file content and place it in the hidden text field. I can use this hidden text field in my Web Dynpro application.
Just came to know that the Java Script we write in Adobe is known as AcroJS! Nice one.

Firefox 3 crash when using an adobe interactive forms

Hello,
Because Firefox 2.0 isn't supported anymore by Mozilla, we plan to migrate to Firefox 3.
When we display an Adobe Interactive Forms in Firefox 3, the browser crashes. We have reinstalled Firefox 2 and it works again.
We tried with Adobe Reader 8.1.2 or 9.0.
I've checked different sapnotes like 1089062 - FireFox Limitations for
Unified Rendering and ACF
Does anyone met the same issue and/or solved it ?

Steps for Reconstruction
- Log into SAP portal with Firefox 3.0
- Display an adobe interactive forms
- Click on "save" or "close" button and the web browser crashes

FF3 support is still under development (for NW 7.1)

Changing Adobe Interactive Form Layout When Archiving

We are using the adobe interactive forms (adobe liveCycle designer) to create forms for outgoing paper checks. Because of security risks with reprinting checks, it is necessary to change the output of the checks when they are archived (writing 'VOID' over the check), while the form created in the print spool remains unchanged. Is there a way to create dynamic fields on the interactive form based on when the form is being archived? We are using the archiveLink functionality with an external optical storage app. I know there is the possibilty to run the printing and the archiving process separately, using different form layouts, however, reconciliation becomes and issue and I would like to run both printing and archiving together in the same mass activity.

Can you please help me how you did?? What configurations need to be maintained for this?
I am new to this. I did some Rnd on it and found that it can be achieved using HRFORM_HRF02 Business Add-In in the SET_ARCHIVE_INDEX method.
But I have no clue how to do it?

Adobe Interactive Forms with Browser Apple Safari and Mozilla Firefox

Hi Experts,
We have a requirement to implement HCM P&F using Adobe Interactive Forms. These Adobe Forms will be accessed using Browser Apple Safari and Mozilla Firefox. I have come across that the Adobe Interactive Forms are not supported on these browsers. In the same regard I have also gone through the Product Availability Matrix by SAP which specifies that Forms are not support on these browser and neither SAP has future plans to support them.

I would like to know from experts that if any of the project has successfully implemented Adobe Interactive Forms with browser Apple Safari and Mozilla Firefox or
is there any solution which can make these forms work successfully on browser Apple Safari and Mozilla Firefox.

Hello,
Mozilla Firefox is supported for Adobe Interactive Forms on Windows operation system.
Unfortunatelly we do not have support for Mac OS and Safari browser.
Please re-check the PAM.

IE is supported.

Google Chrome does support HCM P and F for Adobe Interactive Forms. I am not sure about the other browsers.

Adobe Interactive Form in Blackberry?

Hi Everybody,
I had designed a Adobe Interactive form in webdynpro for java in netweaver developer studio. Now i want to run the url of this application in blackberry browser.
Actually I am able to run the webdynpro for java applications in blackberry simulator by executing the generated url of the webdynpro applications.But when I am trying the same with webdynpro for java application which contains adobe interactive form, blackberry is unable to display the form in browser.
Please help me out with some procedure to do so. Will "dochawk" or "reqwireless webviewer" will help. if so please give the clarrification.

Hello Madhu,
To show a PDF on your blackberry hand held device, you would need a micro edition
of Acrobat Reader installed on the device. As far as i know, there is no such Reader available in the market as of now from Adobe. Hence, your scenario can not be realized.
Web Dynpro can render itself on the blackerry because Web Dynpro's html client generates "html" output which is understandable by the blackberry browser.

Error while opening Adobe Interactive form.

We have few custom applications which contains an adobe interactive form. When it is getting called it throws the following error.
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.clientserver.adobe.pdfdocument.base.core.PDFDocumentRuntimeException: Failed to UPDATEDATAINPDF
com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxrpc.exceptions.XmlUnmarshalException: XML Deserialization Error. Invalid parser state. This exception is caused when deserializing XML type [http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema]<base64Binary> and wrong XML node is found.
Kindly guide me how to resolve this issue.

Problem with ACF for Adobe Interactive Forms

Hi Gurus,
I had created an adobe interactive form using web dynpro for abap, but I am getting the 500 connection timed out error in the browser when I test the web dynpro application. Where as a normal web dynpro application without adobe form is running successfully.
The system details are :-
     Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8.0
     NW04S SPS9
     Adobe Reader 9
     IE 7.
I followed the note 766191 and downloaded and installed ACF(for NW04s and higher version supported upto acrobat reader 9) from browser itself.
I also followed the note 1150277 for enabling IE settings on ActiveX controls. And I checked in IE with Tools->Internet Options->Programs->Manage Add-ons, but the ACF components were not available.
Please help me out.

E-mail adobe interactive form without showing it..

Hi experts!
I am trying to create a WD apllication in which when the user presses a button an adobe interactive form will be called and e-mail, without showing the actual form.
From what i saw in the corresponding tutorial, in order to attach the file to the e-mail, the file must first exist in pdf format.
But, during runtime all i have is the pdfsource.
So, the point is: how can i create the actual pdf from the pdf Source without showing it????

Hi,
actually I would not recommend that. That's something which has to be programmed completely new and does not exist at the moment. If you want to have it outside in the internet for externals you will force candidates to use Adobe Acrobat reader in a certain version and might get browser problems. So technical support might become an issue.
So the only opportunities you have without creating something new, is using Web Dynpro standard or a third party tool based on flash.
