Browser Home Page on N73

Some time ago I managed to configure my N73 to open the browser on the bookmarks rather than a specific homepage. When I upgraded the firmware I lost this setting and can't get it back. Any idea how I do this?

Hi  @mish ,
Welcome to the HP Forum,
I would love to help you with this issue, I just need a little more information.
Which home page are you refering too?
Is it the home page on the printers display? or, are you trying to reach the printers home page through the software?
Please let me know so i can proceed in the most appropriate direction, thanks.

  • BB Tour 9630 - browser home page (original default)

I inadvertently changed my browser home page, but really would like it to be the default home page that came with the phone.  (icons for sports, weather, news, etc.)   I can't figure out how to re-set to the default.  Does anyone have a link for that home page so that I can put it back?
    Thanks!!

with your device browser, go to the Google Web page that you want.
then open the menu, select options.
    go to the "Browser configuration".
go to the end of the page, and click the button "use current".
open the menu and exit, and save.

  • Change browser home page through an applet

i want to Change browser(any browser) home page through an applet
    how to do it?

I don't think there's any way to do this. It's the user's own choice. Javascript can be used to suggest to the user to change homepage, and you can access Javascript from within an applet (I think you use the browser context show URL method with "javascript:someMethodCall()" as the URL).
In any case, it's extremely annoying when a website tries to become your homepage. I also don't see the marketing logic in it: no user will think "Gee, instead of my favorite search engine or news site, I see this (probably lower quality) web portal I haven't used before; I guess I'll use it from now on.". Instead they'll be just be annoyed and decide not to use this site that has so infringed upon their daily routine.

  • Browser home page

Why does my browser now take me to the last page I was on and exactly where I left off when I shut it down? It will not go to my selected home page when I start it up.

Do you have this problem on a desktop/laptop computer, or on your mobile device running Android?
For desktop systems, please investigate whether you have a '''user.js''' file as described in this article: [[How to fix preferences that won't save]]. Some software may create such a file and it may contain an override that instructions Firefox to restore your previous session.
Did you see anything like that?

  • The browser home page is grabled

when firefox opens to the home page, this page is simple text, and the wording overlaps itself. There are no pictures, just links, but they don't work. I tried downloading new software but the problem persists. All other web sites are fine just the firefox home page is wacked

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
    * Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
    * Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a high value can cause.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

  • Browser - Home Page Problem

When I got my Curve, I remember changing an option to have my Home Page synchronize/update every hour. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to late that option now. Where is it?

    Please do the following.
    * In the location bar, type '''about:config''' and hit Enter.
    * In the filter at the top, type: '''keyword.URL'''
    * Double click it and remove whatever's in there and replace it with http://www.google.com/search?q=
    * Go to File | Exit
    * Restart Firefox, go to the site you want to set as your homepage.
    * Go to '''Tools '''| '''Options '''| '''General'''.
    * Make sure it says "''Show My Homepage''" in the first dropdown menu.
    * Click the button called "'''Use Current Pages'''" to set the homepage to the one you have on the screen.
The URL to add in "keyword.URL" becomes a link in this post, so right click it and choose "'''Copy Link Location'''" to copy it to the Windows clipboard. Then hit CTRL+V to paste it. Saves you having to type the whole thing.

  • I get no browser home page; no favorites/bookmarks; no back buttons; no tools, etc. just a generic Firefox bar with preset sites which go nowhere when clicked. I have windows vista home premium. Firefox works fine on my desktop

Upgraded to latest Firefox version on my laptop w/ Vista Home Premium and get no browser page; no back buttons; no bookmarks/favorites; no address bar...nothing like a typical browser page...all I have is a cumbersome Firefox bar that has preset sites that do nothing when clicked.
FF worked fine before I "upgraded". Want 3.5 back

I followed your instructions and installed Developer Suite 10G on Windows Vista Home Premium edition. I have Oracle 11G DB running on the same machine.
    Two points, Steve:
    1. When I tried to set the maximum virtual memory to 6110 an error message displayed from Windows and told me that I can't set the maximum virtual memory to more than 4096. I set it to 4090 and it worked and I got nothing wrong during the installation process.
    2. After installing JInitiator and disabling Java on Firefox I called the http://127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet page and everything seemed to be OK because the Oracle Forms Services logo appeared and then a successful installation message appeared , but as I clicked (ok) to continue a gray screen appeared inside the browser (like the one displayed when you try to run a Java applet inside a browser) and then I wait to death till something appears but sadly nothing. I just get a blank gray screen inside my Firefox browser.
Do you have any idea what to do to solve the problem?
    Regards

  • Firefox just quit on me. I cannot access the browser home page

When I try to use my browser this is what appears: Unable to connect to the server at www.mozilla.com, the site could be temporarily too busy, check your network connections(which I did), if your computer is protected by a firewall or proxy make sure firefox is permitted to access the web. This is my problem It won't let me get to the web.

If you just updated to Firefox 3.6.'''6''' - a new preference was added to the Connection Settings proxy preferences in Tools > Options > Advanced >> Network tab - Connection = Settings = '''Use system proxy settings'''
The default setting now is for '''Use system proxy settings''', and that might be causing your problem.
If you select '''''No proxy''''' and restart Firefox your problem should be fixed.

  • I lost the browser Yahoo page I had (have NO idea what happened) and I need to reestablish it. How?

I some how lost the browser home page I had set up thru firefox using a Yahoo browser page> when I now open firefox I get some basic nothing kind of page with a Google search box sitting there. All my saved pages have also been wiped out. How do I reestabish my browser page and retrieve the saved pages from the net that I had?

I'm sorry, but I do not understand your response.

  • Have Firefox home page set for Google search, but each following tab opens w/Yahoo search instead. How do I remove the Yahoo and have Google home page on every tab????

As I said above: I Have Firefox browser home page set for Google search, but each following tab (but suddenly now it) opens w/Yahoo search instead. How do I remove the Yahoo search off the added tabs and have Google home page/ blank tab (like it used to be) on every tab????

The new Firefox Start Page - '''about:home''' - isn't the same homepage that was used in earlier versions of Firefox - http://www.google.com/firefox There is no "setting" for the "Search Container" on the about:home "page" - in the Options UI or in about:config .
Set that old "Mozilla Firefox Start Page" as your "homepage". <br />
    http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How+to+set+the+home+page
Or open your Profile folder and delete the '''webappsstore.sqlite''' file and hope the "Search Container" on the about:home "page" returns to Google. When it '''''is''''' Google, the Google logo appears to the left of the "Search Container"; when the search engine there has been changed to something else, there is no logo to the left of the "Search Container" - AFAIK.

  • Firefox android opens to about.config as home page. unable to set new home page

firefox android always opens new tab or browser session on about:config page.
I've restarted browser and tablet(Samsung Galaxy Tab 3), and this behavior still persists.
All google searches suggest that the firefox android browser home page cannot be changed but this is obviously not true.
I've tried solutions that suggest navigating to about:home and modifying bookmarks and these paths do not work.
The awesome bar is far from awesome!!!!!!
How do I stop the browser from starting at about:config and how can I make the home page be what I want?

In the about:config page entry on the desktop there is a homepage entry, but does not show up on my android, odd.
Try this > Settings > Customize > Home
Change setting here and open a new tab to see if changes are made.
Also check the about:addons page to see if you have any homepage add ons that has saved the about:config page as the home page.
    Looking forward to your reply!

  • The letter"a" becomes seperated from its associated word, and is put onto a seperate line of its own. For instance, I open my Firefox home page, and ther I have my BT mail alerts. This is spread out as previously described. Any comments of fixes?

    See above question

I alraedy allow pages to select their own font in the tools. When I open my firefox browser (home page) I get my personalised info, for example my BTyahoo mail preview. This is a typical example of letter seperation, with the letter "a" appearing on a different line. When I refresh the page using the firefox refresh button in the top left, this doesn't cure it, but when I use the refresh option in the btyahoo mail section, it refreshes to normal appearance. Could this have something to do with my recent Norton renewal?

-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> General -> When Firefox starts : select "Show My Home Page" -> Type the address of the website which you want to be your HomePage e.g. http://www.google.com
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Content -> place Checkmarks on:
    1) Block Pop-up windows 2) Load images automatically 3) Enable JavaScript
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Privacy -> History section -> '''Firefox will: select "Use Custom Settings for History"''' -> REMOVE Checkmark from '''"Permanent Private Browsing mode"''' -> place CHECKMARKS on:
    1) Remember my Browsing History 2) Remember Download History 3) Remember Search History 4) Accept Cookies from sites -> select "Exceptions..." button -> Click "Remove All Sites" at the bottom of "Exception - Cookies" window
4a) Accept Third-party Cookies -> under "Keep Until" select "They Expire"
-> '''REMOVE CHECKMARK from CLEAR HISTORY WHEN FIREFOX CLOSES'''
-> '''When using the Location Bar, suggest: select "History and Bookmarks"'''
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Security -> place Checkmarks on:
    1) Warn me when sites try to install add-ons 2) Block reported attack sites 3) Block reported web forgeries 4) Remember Passwords for sites
-> Click OK on Options window

  • How do I open a new FireFox browser window to the home page and url filled?

win 7 64-bit, firefox 5 open new window no url. When I have firefox open and open a new browser window, the new window does not open on the home page and no url is present in the address field. If I click on the favicon in the address field, the url of the current page will automatically fill in. The forward and backward arrow buttons remain disabled. In addition, links opened in a new window cause a new browser window to open, but the linked to website is not displayed in the new windows. What is displayed is a new window completely blank with no url in the address bar. I tried to include troubleshooting information by clicking on the copy to clipboard, but apparently the character count was exceeded.

I disabled all plug-ins and extensions. the problem has been resolved. Now I will enable each one individually to find out which one was the offender.
