Browser is sticking and won't load

I just received my new MacBook in the mail Tuesday, and I'm having big trouble browsing. All the other MacBooks in the house are running fine on our wireless internet, but my Safari sticks and won't finish loading pages. About 1/4 inch of blue runs across the address bar, and that's where it stops loading. I waited 12 minutes for a site to load yesterday before I finally turned the computer off. Any suggestions as to what to do before calling support? Thanks.

The following usually works on both Tiger and Leopard:
(First, if yours is an Intel Mac, check that Safari is not running in Rosetta, which is enough to slow it to a crawl.)
Adding DNS codes to your Network Settings, should gives good results in terms of speed-up:
Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu. Click on TCP/IP and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' enter the following two numbers:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

Whilst in System Preferences/Network you should also turn off 'IPv6' in your preference pane, as otherwise you may not get the full speed benefit (the DNS resolver will default to making SRV queries).
Click on Apply Now and close the window.
Restart Safari, and repair permissions.
If that didn't do it, then try this as well:
Empty Safari's cache (from the Safari menu), then close Safari.
Go to Home/Library/Safari and delete the following files:
form values
download.plist
Then go to Home/Library/Preferences and delete
com.apple.Safari.plist
Repair permissions (in Disk Utility).
Start up Safari again, and things should have improved.

Remember: we cannot see your machine. There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 8 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Basic things like :
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For instance: 'iPhoto won't export' is best explained by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted?

Reboot your iPad and then see if you can set the security questions.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

It sounds like you may have multiple problems, but none of them are likely to be caused by malware.
First, the internet-related issues may be related to adware or a network compromise. I tend to lean more towards the latter, based on your description of the problem. See:

If investigation shows that this is not a network-specific issue, then it's probably adware. See my Adware Removal Guide for help finding and removing it. Note that you mention AdBlock as if it should have prevented this, but it's important to understand that ad blockers do not protect you against adware in any way. Neither would any kind of anti-virus software, which often doesn't detect adware.
As for the other issues, it sounds like you've got some serious corruption. I would be inclined to say it sounds like a failing drive, except it sounds like you just got it replaced. How did you get all your files back after the new drive was installed?

Skyype just spins and won't load

A few days ago my Skype started just spinning and won't load. I've tried upgrading and checked all my settings but nothing will resolve the issue. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas why this is happening?

Dvd player has dvd in it but will only eject about 1/4 inch and won't load or play

I [put a dvd in sony player and it says loading on the screen for about 30 seconds and the it says insert disc but the disc won't eject and only about a 1/4 inch of the tray ejects and then quickly retracts! I've done all the suggestions on line for unlocking a disc but they don't work. Help anyone?

Shut down and restart the app...
- From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
- Tap and hold any icon in this list until they wiggle
- Press the red to delete the offending app from this list.
- Press the home button twice when done.

My Google Bookmarks says that my browser is offline and won't let me save the page but the Firefox booksmarks will let me save it.

My Firefox bookmarks will let me save the web page but Google bookmarks won't and tells me that my browser is offline and to check my browser and network settings. I also can't download you-tube videos like I used to. When I hover on the picture, the "download" box does not show up but it does give me the option to stop download. I just changed to Shaw internet.

Did anything happen to the computer? It appears that you are trying to sync to another iTunes library since in that case you can only sync with one iTunes library.

NAND script and won't load past apple screen

Standard troubleshooting...
1. Remove apps from the Recently Used (multi-tasking) list...
- From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
- Swipe up on the app preview card to remove it from the list
- Press the home button when done.
2. Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the slider. Slide to power off. Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the Apple logo.
3. Reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
4. Restore with your backup.
5. Restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it. You may need to try DFU mode (Google for it).
6. If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue.

CD is stuck and won't load or eject, what should I do?

I inserted a cd into my macbook and it won't load and won't eject. It just keeps making the noise like it's trying to load. I tried turning my computer on and off but that didn't help. Any suggestions?

Disconnect the iPad from the computer then reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Try syncing.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings

Facebook app on iPad air news feed stops and won't load more

When I scroll down news feed on Facebook app, it stops after less than 1 hr ago. There is a grey circle and I can pull down, but it won't load more. I tried re downloading app, but it still stops after only a few stories.

Definitely a lag, but reloading did not help. It just stops after a few stories, but if I quit and come back, it will usually go a bit further back. I recently upgraded to the Ipad air. Never had this problem with my old Original Ipad. Any other ideas?

How do you remove an app mistakenly uploaded if it was meant for iphone only and won't load on iPod Touch?

I uploaded an iPhone app to my iPod Touch by mistake, and of course it won't load, but it keeps trying. I can't remove it when I sync to the computer because no "x" appears on the darkened app. Is there another way to remove the app?

Try removing the App from iTunes and resyncing your iPod. If that works, you can go ahead and redownload the application. Just make sure to not to sync it to your iPod touch.
