"Browser out of date" when running Safari 8.0

Hi everyone,
I have been having a little problem for some time now. Certain websites  like gmail, wordpress, Zillow or even iCloud.com have been saying that I am not running the latest version of safari and it needs to be updated. Problem is I am running Yosemite on a MacBook Pro (5,4) and the about safari window says I am running Safari 8.0.
Like I said it's not a big problem since I simply need to dismiss it but it is a little annoying and concerning.
Would anyone know where that could come from, and how to stop getting these warnings?
Side note, I believe it was already doing with Maverick and then with the Beta version of Yosemite.
Thanks for your help.
Matt

I just noticed that I can't install extensions from Apple.com either, it says I need Safari 6...

  • Browser out of date and can't install Adobe Flash Player

My browser is out of date according to everything I am visiting.  I can't post pictures on twitter, some of the videos I watch have blocked plug-ins, and I can't install adobe flash player.  My computer is a MacBook Pro 10.6.4, and I would like to keep Safari.  Can someone direct me to where I get the newest version of Safari and why I cannot install Adobe Flash Player.  I have installed, uninstalled, and done everything I know to do to get this problem resolved.  Next step is take it to the Apple store as I am not a tech person.  Thanks for any assistance.

Upgrade to Snow Leopard 10.6.8: Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1. Upgrade further:
    Upgrading to Yosemite
You can upgrade to Yosemite from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Yosemite can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.
    Upgrading to Yosemite
To upgrade to Yosemite you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download Yosemite from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Yosemite is free. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
        OS X Mavericks/Yosemite - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Yosemite
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
         Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion at the Online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

  • Report returns wrong data when run on server

    Hi,
I'm runing CRS XI R2 on Windows Server 2003 SP2.  When I refresh a report in the Crystal Reports XI Designer, I'm getting correct data.  But when I schedule the report to run on the server it returns wrong data.  The data is different from what I see when I refresh it from the designer.  In the report I have running totals set up to count customers that meet a certain criteria.  The report is very large.  It take almost 2 hours to refresh.
I was wondering what is causing the difference in running total data between refreshing it on the designer and running it on the server.  Is it returning wrong data b/c of it not reading all the records?  Should I be making any changes to the server settings?  I saw that under pageserver, there are options for  setting the 'Minutes Before an Idle Report Job is Closed' and 'Database Records To Read When Previewing Or Refreshing a Report".  Do either of those have anything to do with the report returning incorrect data when being scheduled to run on the server?
    Thanks,
    Kim

    Hi Xuandao,
You would need to Use Cell Binding and Trigger concept to accomplish this.
Its simple, however, you would have to work on a trial and error basis to understand this concept as implementing the same is subject to your dashboard and WEBI Design.
    Open you LiveOffice.
Insert your WEBI, Now, go to Object Properties of your WEBI, select the second tab that says Prompt, Here, it lists the prompts that you have for your WEBI. This would also enlist your BEx variables as well. Select this BEx variable and click on the button that says Prompt at the bottom of this window. Here, select choose Excel Data Range and click on the cell select button on the right (small button that lets you choose what cell you want to bind this prompt to), Now select a free cell that would not be even populated later on when you run the dashboard say A1 (remember the value that you select). Click on OK and again OK. The WEBI Refreshes and you can see all the prompt values at the cell A1. These are all the possible values stored for your BEx prompt variables (these values are fetched from BW system dynamically).
Now, save this LiveOffice, Go to you dashboard. Connect your dashboard to your Live office. Go to Data-> connections-> Now, select the WEBI and in the right hand pane  go to Usage tab, here, Click on Trigger cell button on the right hand side and select A1 in you LiveOffice.
    It should work fine.
    Let me know.

  • How to find out the date when an oracle database is upgraded

    Hi,
I would like to know the date when an oracle database is upgraded (for example 10.2.0.4 to 11.2.0.3).
Can you help me to find out these details.

    Hi Ed and SB,
Thanks for your replies. How about this option?
Let us assume I am interested in checking when my database is upgraded to any 11g version.
    Will this query help?
    select min(first_usage_date)  from  dba_feature_usage_statistics where  version like '11%';
I understand this may not be a generic solution , but with this idea I may be able to build up a query to get the result.
    Thanks,
    Sarayu
How is it that you or nobody knows when the DB was upgraded?
I would have expected a formal testing & upgrade plan.
Does the organization practice safe software & utilize any source code repository?
    Does everyone suffer from amnesia?
How could a MAJOR database upgrade slip by everyone who should care about such a detail?

  • Mail / iPhoto Photo Browser out of date.

In Mail, a photo browser button allows me to browse the contents of my iPhoto library (Events, places, etc).
However, the contents are not the same as what I see in iPhoto.  They appear to be out of date - no event or photo after Jan 2011 is present.
iPhoto itself is working just fine, and has plenty of more recent photos and events etc.
    Any ideas what's going on?

Firstly, always assuming your profile is up to date,  I would update the device to 10.6.8 using the Combo updater as follows.
Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1  and follow with a software update to pick up the most recent security updates.
    Then try again.
If there is no improvement I suggest you rephrase the question and put it in the iPhoto columns where it will receive the attention of the gurus there.  It is always good practice to channel questions to the communities that are directly related to your problem.

  • Query not refreshing all data when run in workbook with other queries

    All,
I have the following problem. I have a workbook that has two queries, one on each tab.
The specific thing I notice that the company code is not showing up in the query at first until I hit refresh. Both queries use the same company code and user variables. When running the workbook I have each query set to "refresh query when running workbook". I have been able to duplicate this problem in either of the two queries, depending upon which company code variables I use. When I run the workbook, one of the two queries never updates company code variable unless I "refresh" the query directly after pulling up the workbook.
I have changed the company code variable and used other company codes in each query, some required, some not, but ultimately a few of the key figures are not populating with current data and the company code is missing...unless I hit refresh on that query. I have tried creating new workbooks and removing and reinserting the queries, but this doesn't work either.
And both queries run fine when executed alone.
Again, Both queries use the same company code variable.
Any help will be rewarded with points and is appreciated.

    Tasha,
Remove the queries from the workbook and reinsert them. This should show the desired result.

  • I can't join mobile internet and am being told I am out of data when I'm not?

I was hoping someone could help me. About a week ago I stopped being able to use roaming internet, sometimes the pages attempt to load for a long time before telling me there are connection problems and other times I am told that I am out of data and need to top up. I don't get why it would be either of these things as I've used the internet before in those locations and a signal is being picked up, and I just brought a new packet three days ago with 2gb of data which I've not been able to use because I can't access mobile internet and haven't come close to using the 2gb of data in any previous months. Any advice would be great, thank you.

  • Macbook Pro Retina crashing when running Safari and iTunes since Mavericks

Hello everyone.  I am starting a new thread even though there seem to be a lot of various crash reports.  I have noticed several entire system crashes (never, ever happened on my mac before until I updated to Mavericks) when using iTunes and Safari at the same time.  The entire computer crashes and/or freezes up - no keyboard or mousepad response, and no crash report, only option to manually restart by holding down power button. I include an etrecheck report below fyi, but cannot seem to locate anything myself.  I do not use external montiors or any other open apps or extensions.  OI have put this under Mavericks because this problem (as well as others I have had to fix) has only begun since updating the OS.  Apple tells me that I just have to be patient for the other software to catch up to Mavericks - but this is Apple's software!  Any ideas?  Many, many thanks, and Merry christmas.

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes) in the search box. Note the timestamps of those log messages, which refer to the times when the system was booted. Now clear the search box and scroll back in the log to the last boot time after  you had the problem. Select the messages logged before the boot, while the system was unresponsive or was failing to shut down. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V). Please include the BOOT_TIME message at the end of the log extract.
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
Still in Console, look under System Diagnostic Reports for crash or panic logs, and post the entire contents of the most recent one, if any. In the interest of privacy, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if present (it may not be.) Please don’t post any other kind of report — it will be very long and not helpful.

  • User kicked out of PS when running Query to excel

    Hi,
Just to note, I am actually a developer and doesnt know a thing about configurations or any PS tech admin knowledge regarding installation and setting up Psoft. So please be patient with me since im starting this just now and only starting to gain knowledge in this are.
Just to give an overview, currently we are supporting US psoft and I am located in malaysia tranferring the servers here at our end. we are on UAT right now and having trouble with the psoft application itself and from I see it, it can be caused by how it is installed. Because the US env (server in US) is working perfectly but the M'sia env are having errors (server in M'sia). Just to remind that its the same env only installed in different location, you can call it parallel testing if you like.
Now with the problem, when the user tries to run a query in the Query manager and doing "run to excel", the user gets kicked out of PeopleSoft online and giving just the literal "Error" message. And when I look at the PSQRYSRV dump file (just learned it yesterday), can't really understand what it says. I try googling it but to no success.
Does anybody can help me with this? TIA!

  • Create a script that can create entire schema with data when run

    Hi,
I need to create a script that creates the entire schema on a database when the script is run. the need is that the script should be capable of creating all schema objects with grants and all, including the table data.
The same objective can be achived through export / import. But we don't want to deliver the dump files instead a script which will be executed on a database created with same database stucture of tablespaces etc.
I have serched the net but yet to achive the goal.
Is there any oracle utility / script file that can do this for me ?
Can Oracle import be used to create the same, the way it is used to create index File ?
    Please suggest !!
    Regards

You should look at the package dbms_metadata to be able to extract all ddl to recreate a schema. To load the data, you could write scripts that will generate insert statements and spool these to a file (sql generating sql), or you could write scripts that generates a delimited file and use sql loader to load the data into the target system. There are lots of little gotchas in either of these 2 solutions. The biggest 2 right away. 1 - picking a delimiter, 2 - dealing with carriage returns in text data. SQL Developer is able to do some extraction, so before you go writing this stuff yourself, I would check it out to see if it does what you are looking for before you reinvent the wheel.
