Browser outlines

Greetings all,
I've been testing various Spry Effects (Accordion, Collapse,
Tab Panels etc) Although the functionality is all working as
expected, several browsers display ugly outlines. Specifically:
Safari displays a light blue outline around the complete
widget. The only way for it to disappear is to click anywhere on
the page other than the widget. The same outline appears in Firefox
although this outline is a dotted black line, and again, only
disappears when you click anywhere outside the widget. This also
seems to be the case with Chrome which displays an orange outline.
It appears to work fine in IE7 (PC) and Opera 9.5 (PC &
Mac)
Anybody else experience this? Any suggestions/fixes would be
appreciated, as it is it visually spoils the effect on the page.
Cheers

Thanks Arnout for the suggestion,
I had included the CSS and it does not address the issue.
Perhaps I did not explain the effect clearly. It is not a code
attribute of the container/effect CSS etc. It is not an outline of
the object in the traditional sense, it merely appears as an
outline when you engage the spry effect. It appears to be a browser
issue as previously stated in the original post. Perhaps Firefox
3.06 (gecko) and Safari 4 beta (webkit) just don't like these
effects. Looks and works fine in IE7 and Opera 9.5 (PC, Mac,
Linux).
Anybody else experiencing this display issue?
I'll keep looking about for examples etc.
Cheers

  • Gray outline of artboard shows up in browser when I view webpage - advice on how to remove this

I have designed a layout in Illustrator (CS5.1) for a webpage. I save for web with transparency and when I view in a browser there is a gray outline of the artboard from illustrator. Any suggestions on how to remove this outline?

Check your align to pixel grid stuff and the artboard dimensions. This usually happens when olacing stuff at fractional values.

  • Edge Animate animations have outline on mobile browser (iOS7)

I am working on adding several animations to our new website and all of the animations appear correctly in safaru, chrome, ie. However, when you view the web page on a mobile device (iPad, iPhone) some of the animations have a thin outline around it. This is a very strange issue as most of the animations appear correctly on the mobile browser but only a few have this odd outline.
    Any Suggestions?

Here is what I have found so far:
If I make sure the stage is larger than the animation, and no parts of the animation are touching the edges, the outline disappears.
However, I have done the above and still find the outline on several animations. So it is not a 100% fix but this did fix about 70% of my animations showing the outline.
Also, it seems the outline appears if the website page layout is dependent on the size of the animation. So if your animation size is "touching" your text, images, etc, the outline appears. I was able to get around this by assigning a table to the page and predefining the table height and width that holds the animation to be larger than the stage height and width.
These are just work arounds but it really seems that the outline is based on other elements of your website "touching" the borders of the animation.
    Hopefully a fix comes soon.

  • When trying to open a link in the page I am on and open it in a new Tab the browser stops responding.

I open the browser and the Hime Page opens as expected. When I open a link to an item or article on the page in a new Tab Firefox stops responding and thye top line on the screen shows that to be the case. The only way to resolve the issue is to exit or close Firefox and start again. This has just started yesterday (Oct 12) as before that the process worked fine.
When I open a new Tab and then type in a new web site it will open and allow access with no problem, provided I have not open a link as outlined in the first paragraph. I can open several tabs in this manner and Firefox works as expected. But if I try to link from any page and open in a new Tab i get the "not responding" situation again.
After closing Firefox so I can restart it, the browser will open but the first screen will be a blank tab rather than my home page. I can open web sites and Firefox proceeds as expected as long as I do not try to open a link from within the page in a new Tab. I get the same "Not responding" situation.
If I immediately close Firefox after it opens without my homepage and then restart it then my home page will open as expected.
I have not made any changes to programs or setups in Firefox or on my computer in the immediate time before the problem started.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

  • Site works in the app, but not in the browser.

    Hello iWeb experts,
    I've got problems.
Last night I published my site. And while it appears, and functions, properly in my iWeb app, it doesn't do the same in Safari, Firefox, and Internet Explorer.
    Two issues...
    FONTS
I chose Bellamie, Univers Condensed, and Marydale as my fonts. From reading these forums, I've discovered those won't wysiwyg on other computers if the fonts aren't available and open on them. So my two choices are to make every bit of text a graphic or to use a set of more universal fonts, correct? So my questions are...One, is there a list somewhere of fonts that will work in any browser? And, two, is there a short-cut, or easy way to transform type into a graphic without having to create image files?
    FUNCTIONS
Here are the functions that work fine in iWeb but have gone haywire in all of the browsers I tested...
    • The type in one nav link appears smaller than all the rest.
    • Some links are active, others are not.
    • Rollover highlighting works on some links, but not others.
    • Most of the rollover links appear in the proper static color, a few do not.
I've tested these functions on three Macs, one PC, and in the three browsers mentioned above. All of them show the exact same problems. So something must be going wrong with iWebs coding, or my host server musn't like iWeb.
Any thoughts, suggestions on these two issues? Thanks much for any advice.

Fascinating, Kirk (+he types with one raised eyebrow+).

When I drag across your page most of your links do not change. The "text" portion of them doesn't change, either. Something is covering them.
I can see that. But for the life of me, I don't know what could be covering those links. In my app, when I click in the area of the links, the type is the first item selected. Unless, possibly, it could somehow be the faint reflection of my black-and-white image (me & the ground I stand on). Hmmm...
    QuickTimeKirk wrote:
Single click (outside the boundaries of your page contents) and an "outline" will appear. It shows the image file dimensions and locations.
This I don't see. An outline? As in "an object outline," or as in "a list of dimensions and locations?" When I click outside my page contents, I get nothing.
Thanks, QTK. I truly appreciate your troubleshooting here.

  • How can I remove the thin black border of Flash movie when viewed in a browser?

There is a thin border at the top and left margins of my Flash movie when the .html is viewed in a browser. How can it be removed?
    Here's the movie.
One solution suggests replacing some code, but the code they suggest replacing doesn't even exist in my html file.
I have found questions similar to mine being asked all over different forums, but their solutions either don't work, or like the above, don't really apply. For such a common problem, finding the solution is getting a little frustrating.
I'm using Flash CS3 on a Windows PC rrunning XP professional.

Okay, I found the answer. It turns out that when I made the buttons in Flash (so the movie would have clickable links), the default stroke color was set to black. Change it to white and the outline is gone.
As for appearing only on the top and left of the movie - for some reason the bottom and right is being cropped a bit when it's placed in to the html page. But that's a topic for a different discussion.

  • The Browse in Bridge option in PS CC 2014 doesn't launch Bridge, but instead opens the window of the Creative Cloud desktop app instead.  This behaviour is on both Mac and Windows.

I recently installed all the of CC 2014 applications and noticed that in Photoshop CC 2014, when I choose the "Browse in Bridge" menu option it doesn't launch Bridge at all.  Instead it opens the Creative Cloud desktop application window instead.  I have the latest version of Bridge installed as well.  If I have Bridge running, the menu option also just opens the CC window and doesn't bring Bridge to the front either.  I have PS installed on both a Mac (10.9.3) and Windows (8.1) and the behaviour is the same.

I only Run windows and my install of CC 2014 works correctly and launches Bridge CC.  Bridge CC was also updated to launch CC 2014 and not CC 14.2.1.

  • FireFox browser does not show toolbar when login to infoview

    Hi,
I am using Business Objects Enterprise XI release 2 with SP 4. When i login to infoview using FireFox I can not see the toolbars and menus needed to create a New Webi report or any other reports.
Has anyone know how to fix this? I tried the following patches , but it did not fix the issue.
    ADAPT01081436
    Description:
In a Firefox browser, when creating a multiple-pane outline of a Web Intelligence report in "My InfoView", an error message
    appears.
    New Behavior:
    This problem is resolved.
Also, I have found below issues from boxir2_en_ServicePack4_readme.pdf document:
    ADAPT00861711
    Description:
You cannot launch a web in a Mozilla Firefox browser from a dashboard customized help URL.
    New Behavior:
The exception handlers now catch errors thrown by Mozilla Firefox.
The error message i see in the Error console is this
    toolbarContainer has no properties
    menuNew has no properties etc
    Regards
    ambili

Firefox 2 version 2.0.0.20. and the JRE version that is installed on the machine is 1.6.0_30.
I tried the same with FireFox version 3.0.5 and  get the same issue. I did not try to open any reports. But in the infoview first page, i can not see the tool bar from where you create a new report.
The error message i mentioned in the message is actually seen in the Error console from  Tools -> Error Console from the browser

  • Global Outline Agreement Distribution

    Hello,
i try to distribute global outline agreement ( transaction type GCTR ) from SRM 4.0 to ERP 2004.
But I can´t find in my browser ( its service = bbp_ctr_main ) the header data "Distribution".
I see in my header data only following taps:
Basic Data / Documtents / Conditions / Output Logs / Status / Approval Preview
I set up following things till now:
    - IDoc type = BLAREL02 as Inbound Processing in SRM System
    - IDoc type = BLAREL02 as Outbound Processing in Backend System
    - transaction type = GCTR with internale number range in SRM System
    - transaction type = GCTR with external number range in Backend System
    - BADI:  BBP_CTR_BE_CREATE in Method: CONTRACT_PROCESS_TYPE_FILL
       EV_PROCESS_TYPE = 'GCTR'.
    - BADI: BBP_DETERMINE_LOGSYS in Method: CONTRACT_LOGSYS_DETERMINE
       CV_LOGSYS = 'our Backend System'.
    - PPOMA_BBP  - Attributes; Tab: Function -under Local I mapped the Purchasing Organisation and the
       Purchasing Group with Backend System
*Which customizing is still missed to see this tab "Distribution" in the header data?!
Would be glad if someone could help.
    Best Regards
    J.F.

If you really want to do GOA, you've got the wrong service (CTR_MAINCC is the one you are looking for). The role stratpurchaser* has both transactions: contract and global outline.
BBP_DETERMINE_LOGSYS does not need to be implemented, BBP_CTR_CREATE_BE neither (maybe for condition mapping!).
You are missing blaord for replication to ECC from SRM, you are missing BBP_SRV if you want to make GOA for services.
Along the way you will probably find that some other things need to be customised in ECC (setting up of global company, some other minor stuff like company code that's missing in ECC).
So basically you don't miss any customising for seeing the tab, but for replicating GOA you DO miss something.
In the Wiki section for SRM on this site you can find the configuration guide for setting up of contracts and GOAs, if you follow that you will have done around 90-95% of all necessary steps.
    Regards,
    Robin

  • How do I get Firefox to use the Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Standard plugin to open PDF docs in the browser window?

I have Acrobat 9.0 Standard installed on my laptop and I've followed the guides provided by Adobe and Firefox for using the provided Adobe plugin file with Firefox so that I can view PDF documents in the Firefox browser window, but neither one has worked for me. I have the location of the Nppdf32.dll file (C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\Browser) and Acrobat is configured to "Display PDF in browser", but whenever I open a pdf on a website, my options are still only to either open it externally with Acrobat or save it. What do I do?

Your response identifies the issue exactly! My website is hosted by GoDaddy. I have forwarded your linked information to their tech department. The URL below my signature is the site having the problem I've outlined when attempting to access linked images.

  • I'm having a problem installing the inspiration browser

When I run Photoshop Elements 10 the screen shows that inspiration browser needs to be updated.  I uninstalled the older veresion, clicked on install.  Then I get a screen that says that Adobe Air is required to be installed "press yes to continue".  When I press "yes" I get a screen titled Adobe Air Installer that says "A download error occured.  Try to download again."  I hit retry and get the same result.
I uninstalled Adobe Air.  Made sure that inspiration browser was uninstalled also, rebooted and tried it again.  Same result.  Checked task manager and no Adobe products were running.  Anyone have any suggestions?

    I fixed it.  I found this: http://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-elements/kb/cant-launch-install-inspiration-browser.html
Instead of getting onto Premier Elements I got into Photoshop elements.
    2) clicked on "Help" tab.
    3) Clicked on "Elements Inspiration Browser".  This brought up a logon screen to Photoshop.com.
    4) Entered id and password, clicked on sign in.  Failed.
    5) Opened a new tab.
    6) Went to Photoshop.com and signed in there.
    7) Went back to the Photoshop Elements screen.
    8) Repeated steps 2 & 3 which brought me to the install screen.
    9) Clicked install and everything worked including the install of Adobe Air.
I hope this helps others having a similar problem.

  • Opening an Outline File

I have Essbase 9.3.1. I was given an outline file created by a colleague created in 9.3.1. When I try to open that outline in my EAS Console - launched via Web Browser and Desktop Client, it just sits and shows hour glass and nothing happens.
Could someone please tell me what log files I could be looking at to see where the problem may exist?
    Thanks
    Wayne

    Glenn,
The OS is the same. I tried to open the Outline file from the File System on numerous Essbase setups (different VMs) and I get the same.
I just sits and does not change from the Open Dialog Box.
I can open other Existing Outlines and others that have been sent to me and they open fine. I am beginning to think that the file got is corrupted. I will try an new copy.
Thanks for taking the time to assist.

  • Hi what do this means-your safari browser an Mac computer may be compromised by security threats??????? please help

Hello i receive this on my computer after att fix my wi-fi  so i need to know how to fix it now my guess sign in is fine but the one with my name on it has this on it please tell me what to do this is my work computer an my files are on it,any help i will be happy to receive .newne

It means you are being scammed by a phishing site. Do not click on any links or call any telephone numbers. There is nothing wrong with your computer.
    Helpful Links Regarding Malware Problems
If you are having an immediate problem with ads popping up see The Safe Mac » Adware Removal Guide, remove adware that displays pop-up ads and graphics on your Mac, and AdwareMedic. If you require anti-virus protection Thomas Reed recommends using ClamXAV. (Thank you to Thomas Reed for this recommendation.) You might consider adding this Safari extensions: Adblock Plus 1.8.9.
Open Safari, select Preferences from the Safari menu. Click on Extensions icon in the toolbar. Disable all Extensions. If this stops your problem, then re-enable them one by one until the problem returns. Now remove that extension as it is causing the problem.
The following comes from user stevejobsfan0123. I have made minor changes to adapt to this presentation.
Fix Some Browser Pop-ups That Take Over Safari.
Common pop-ups include a message saying the government has seized your computer and you must pay to have it released (often called "Moneypak"), or a phony message saying that your computer has been infected, and you need to call a tech support number (sometimes claiming to be Apple) to get it resolved. First, understand that these pop-ups are not caused by a virus and your computer has not been affected. This "hijack" is limited to your web browser. Also understand that these messages are scams, so do not pay any money, call the listed number, or provide any personal information. This article will outline the solution to dismiss the pop-up.
    Quit Safari
Usually, these pop-ups will not go away by either clicking "OK" or "Cancel." Furthermore, several menus in the menu bar may become disabled and show in gray, including the option to quit Safari. You will likely have to force quit Safari. To do this, press Command + option + esc, select Safari, and press Force Quit.
    Relaunch Safari
If you relaunch Safari, the page will reopen. To prevent this from happening, hold down the 'Shift' key while opening Safari. This will prevent windows from the last time Safari was running from reopening.
This will not work in all cases. The shift key must be held at the right time, and in some cases, even if done correctly, the window reappears. In these circumstances, after force quitting Safari, turn off Wi-Fi or disconnect Ethernet, depending on how you connect to the Internet. Then relaunch Safari normally. It will try to reload the malicious webpage, but without a connection, it won't be able to. Navigate away from that page by entering a different URL, i.e. www.apple.com, and trying to load it. Now you can reconnect to the Internet, and the page you entered will appear rather than the malicious one.
